I am not going to be super helpful with this post, but I like the idea of making guilds more goal oriented/RP encouraging. I have been trying to enter the allyverse for a while now, but I have been struggling to join a story line. I think that having guilds be more involved and structured will help new/inactive players start posting. When I first joined 17S, the first place i went were allyverse guilds. I applied for... 4 or 5 of them, but generally they were all either inactive, or they were just a group of people making fun of each other. This is a huge opportunity wasted in my opinion. Having goal/objective focused guilds, rp in guild pms, and requiring characters to have a "primary" guild, or requiring charecters in said guild to show their support of it (in some way) I think will help make the allyverse community not feel quite so secluded. Much of this would be on a guild by guild basis, but it should be encouraged by the community. Perhaps instead if making hard and fast rules, guilds that follow what we want to encourage get benifits? There are obvious pros and cons to everything. But I don't think I have seen a new player perspective yet (though I was just skimming), so I thought I would post. Make of it what you will.

Mid-Range Game 32: The Blight Encroaches
Furamirionind replied to Fifth Scholar's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Because I didn't start thinking along these lines until after rollover started. What caused me to start looking into Randuir was that I am leaning towards Karn being village, and Snipexe flipping as a hardy warrior. As it is the night turn now, we don't have a vote. So I am not voting this turn. Edit: Hi Sart, you already posted! : )- 583 replies

Mid-Range Game 32: The Blight Encroaches
Furamirionind replied to Fifth Scholar's topic in Sanderson Elimination
We are still on the first Ring... So either people didn't pay attention to my recommendation of who should protect, I underestimated the amount of players in those roles, or I accounted too much for inactivity. I have no way of knowing which of those is the case, however other players may know. Unfortunately, that cannot be effectively communicated without letting slip who is which character without Mat's PMs... So I don't know what do do now. Assuming 5 elims, we are out of spare lynches. I have been starting to think along the lines of only being 4 elims (or maybe even 3) for a bit now, as it doesn't make a lot of sense to me that the game would be on the brink of ending D3. I am too tired to edit this anymore (I have been working on this post since rollover). Hopefully this makes sense. (Towards the end, I did less and less editing sooo....) Hmm, sorry, I didn't mean to say that you thought his post didn't matter... It was just... I don't know. I was trying to describe your speech pattern in a sentence... So naturally I am struggling to communicate that. I like brainstorming in-thread as IRL brainstorming is very useful for cultivating ideas. I ended that paragraph with saying Rand shouldn't claim, but it may be worth considering if we enter the late game and the green man is still alive. If the green man is known, they will obviously be the target before Rand, so Rand basically has a minimum of 3 lives (Green man, Rand + 1, then Rand.) The thing is, if the elims attack someone, and that person is protected, we know almost certainly that that person is Rand. If we lynch Rand, Fain can now get passed the Green man and kill him, so we NEED to not lynch Rand. So if it comes down to it, it might make sense for Rand to claim, because as long as the Green Man is alive, it may actually extend Rand's life. I am not saying to do it, just consider as we progress through the game. It is definitly not something to do now. ...You make an interesting point with people guessing I may tell people about the redirect... I did talk a bit about my play-style in the elim doc last game... But since anyone could read that, that doesn't really help. @Sart Thank you for stepping in (unless you are an elim : P ), I look forward to hearing from you when you get a chance. @Ookla the Unprepared Both other games I played with you, I seem to recall you being more active in thread, or when you weren't, you were quite up front about why. This could be because of the extra challenge with your posting style this game, but I would love to hear more from you. If I had to pick one player, I think I am most suspicious of @randuir right now based on the Snipexe interactions. Here is where he gives his reasoning for voting on Snipexe:- 583 replies

Mid-Range Game 32: The Blight Encroaches
Furamirionind replied to Fifth Scholar's topic in Sanderson Elimination
@Ookla the Ring Don't worry about it. We may lynch you, but we may not. Please stay involved as dead players can still win games. Assuming you are village, the more you say the more we progress towards winning, and player's deaths always tell a lot. (My first game was basically a free for all game (LG49) where at the beginning of the game there was no elim/village factions, I ended up making an alliance with Fifth and Steeldancer, and then betrayed them the next turn when it was my turn to help them (after they helped me). There is much worse you could have done, and driving a mislynch happens to the best of us) (except Orlok apperantly) I will either edit in, or repost my actual message, this is just a response to Karn's post.- 583 replies

Mid-Range Game 32: The Blight Encroaches
Furamirionind replied to Fifth Scholar's topic in Sanderson Elimination
I wrote a pretty detailed analysis post about Karn's and and Snip's messages, however, Mr. Doctor said all I was going to and some more. I will respond to BRs comments on me next cycle. Just a reminder, PLEASE defend if you are in Moiraine's Circle, OR are roleless. I think that should be a good number of people... Though it is a gamble. I don't want us to have to hold Ring three so Rand can kill the creepers for us!!- 583 replies

Snipexe, I agree With what you say in this post, but what specifically makes you think Karn is an elim, and not a villager doing (perhaps) misguided analysis? Remember this is Karn's first game, and I believe they said they havent played much mafia/werewolf before at all.- 583 replies

...we are less than 3 hours from the end of the turn, and still all most people are doing (including myself to an extent) is pokevoting people. I have a lot of homework to do tonight, but I will try to get on a before rollover to re-evaluate who I am going to vote for. I don't want to lynch snipexe, but between snipexe and nobody, I'll vote snipexe.- 583 replies

Mid-Range Game 32: The Blight Encroaches
Furamirionind replied to Fifth Scholar's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Sorry for double posting! (not particularly, as I think this next post is important enough... but I don't want the mods upset with me, so I will apologize anyway : ) ) Unfortunately, Devotary's math was correct. We will have a maximum of 8 lynches. Here is the new progression I think we should take: 2 - 5 - 8 || 5 - 8 || || 7 - 10 -13 || || 10 || 11 - 14 || 13 - 14 - 15 - 16 If you understood that, congratulations. I have been doing all my work in the google search engine, so that is how I have been formatting it. To rephrase: D2 - (today) Breach Ring 1, Blight attacking for 8 (This is a bit of a gamble as I don't know role distribution. But I think all the roleless AND Moiraine's circle should Defend and no one else.) N2 - Hold Ring 2, Blight attacking for 5 D3 - Breach Ring 2, Blight Attacking for 8. Let it breach ring 3 as well. N3 - Hold Ring 4, Blight attacking for 7 (gives time for Rand to take care of extra creeper before it is dangerous) D4 - Hold Ring 4, Blight attacking for 10 (this one will be hard) N4 - Breach Ring 4, Blight attacking for 13. Let it breach ring 5 as well. D5 - Breach Ring 6, Blight attacking for 10. (this assumes Rand can prioritize more dangerous creepers) N5 - We want to just be full out protecting from her on out. Hopefully we will be able to hold this ring a turn. But it is all circumstantial. There are several turns in here that the elims could mess up for us. The one I am most concerned about is this turn, as the health is so low. However, I have back up progressions in case they do mess it up, that should allow for us to get back on the right track. If this doesn't work today, then I will post one of those.- 583 replies

Mid-Range Game 32: The Blight Encroaches
Furamirionind replied to Fifth Scholar's topic in Sanderson Elimination
PMs are closed, but Devotary was in the Emond’s Fielder doc. Only people in that doc can therefore truly know whether or not Devotary said something to torn the elims on her. Activity could be part of the reason Devotary was killed, however, Randuir, Mr Doctor, Karn, BR, and myself have also all been active. I think it unlikely they just roled a d20 and picked someone on that roll. I think it may be partly because she had yet to do analysis on players, and was pretty much focusing on rules. Mr Doctor, BR, and myself all did player analysis. Karn is new, so it would be a bit rude to kill them N1 I think. That leaves Randuir and Devotary. Both good players, but I haven't played with Randuir before, so idk why someone may or may not decide to kill them over someone else. I agree with this. I don't like the idea of lynching Snipexe because he is hardy. At BEST, we have ~50% of getting an elim. At worst, ~ 16.66% of getting an elim. I do not like that range. Rand would claim warrior, elim would claim warrior, and warrior would claim warrior. Therefore, I think we shouldn't lynch him as we really don't have enough info. Just brainstorming out loud though, would it be OK for Rand to claim? Rand should be protected each night by the green man. So should be safe from the elim kills. Moiraine and Lan already know who each other are, so you would have a village circle of 3 who knows they can trust the other 2 (plus Mat would connect with Rand, and extend this group to 4). The big downside I see, is if the green man dies, or is inactive, or is roleblocked, or redirected, then we basically lost Rand. This would probably be 100% doable in the late game, when we know if the green man will survive, but not now. Edit: I wasn't trying to get Snipexe killed with my post, just share info. I am still going after Drought Edit: Actually, at best we should have a 66.666666% chance of flipping an elim purely because they are hardy. (assuming Rand is the only village Hardy and 2 elim ones), however I think 50% is still the highest reasonable percentage. (either no warrior hardys, or 2 warrior hardys, 1 elim 1 village)- 583 replies

Mid-Range Game 32: The Blight Encroaches
Furamirionind replied to Fifth Scholar's topic in Sanderson Elimination
I am not going to do a full analysis on everyone this time as I have a lot to do today. But I will post my general thoughts. I felt suspicious (gut read) of BR before Bard's post, and even more afterwards due to her seemingly just brushing off Bard's post about her, like it didn't matter. But I looked back in the (only) other game I could find her in, and she did the same thing there as well when she was village, so I suppose I have a neutral stance on her right now. I understand the view on lynching Ark, as I tried to use that same reasoning to lynch him last game. However, this is how he usually plays. He didn't get truly active last game until I started pushing *hard* for his lynch. I have been told Xino has a similar playstyle. I would normally be all for lynching these two players, as I think it is really frustrating to play with, but with so few lynches I don't know if we want to waste them on these people. Karn/Ookla the Ring - i am getting a slight village read on them, however, they remind me of myself a bit from last game... (with some more time) For now, I am going to keep pressing my vote from last cycle. I may change it after analyzing, but until he says more, my initial suspicion stands. DroughtBringer @Droughtbringer (I will probably work out another sequence of how I think we should progress through the rings again today [unless someone beats me to it], but in the mean time, err on the side of keeping the ring alive. This ring should be decently forgiving due the the amount of players we have.) Edit: I forgot to mention, I was redirected last night. The elims already know this, so sharing this publically shouldn't hurt. I was redirected to Snipexe. As we don't have any killing or detective roles right now, they would have no issue with targeting an elim... But I don't know what to think about this. It probably doesnt mean anything right now... Hopefully sharing this publically was not a huge mistake... Edit: edit: Help us, oh @Ookla the Libre, you are our only hope!- 583 replies

Mid-Range Game 32: The Blight Encroaches
Furamirionind replied to Fifth Scholar's topic in Sanderson Elimination
This is the second game in a row Devotary was killed N1. I know we arent supposed to facter in other games, but this makes me *slightly* less suspicious of Bard, as it was his idea to kill Devotary last game, doing so again for the same reason (on the same night) seems counter intuitive when the most of the rest of that elim team is also in this game. I just started rereading Devotaries posts, and she said we have a maximum of only 8 lynches? If that is the case, we should completely ignore the progression I proposed through these next few turns, and probably just try to maximise game length. Perrins death will be a huge blow with that as we cant stop the elims from progressing anymore, unless Moiraine hits one of them with a roleblock. It will be important for Moiraine to keep track of who she roleblocks and what happened/didnt happen that night, as we don't have our protect anymore. I dont know if I will be able to get in any analysis before I fall asleep, I will try though. (If I do, I will edit it in)- 583 replies

Mid-Range Game 32: The Blight Encroaches
Furamirionind replied to Fifth Scholar's topic in Sanderson Elimination
I didn't format my post very well, so I will rephrase it: N1 - Hold ring 1, Blight attacks for 5 (coordination isn't super important as everyone with a free action should protect anyway for the bonus) D2 - Let ring 1 fail, Blight attacks for 8 (we will still need some people to protect as we should *not* let multiple rings breach at the same time... if 2 breach it isn't the end of the world, but if 3 breach, then we are guaranteed for an attack from a creeper. So we need to avoid that.) -we will need some coordination for this. Probably by telling certain roles to protect, and others not to. Elims could mess this up, but I am unconcerned about that. The reason for letting ring 1 fail D2, is we want to make sure the damage is low enough where we don't accidentally let more than 2 damage through the next ring. N2 - Let ring 2 fail, Blight attacks for 5 (i am conflicted about whether or not we should try to let this go through rings 2 & 3 or just 2, but I would error on the side of just 2 as I believe it to be safer) D3 - Let ring 3 fail, Blight attacks for 6. (though I don't like how we will get the effects of ring 3 on this day, we should have enough people alive to counter it) N3 - Hold ring 4, Blight attacks for 7 (should be able to hold this) D4 - Hold ring 4, Blight attacks for 10 (if we can) ninja'd Devotary running out of time, so I think I will end my post here...- 583 replies

Well, he actually did defend himself. He said that he wasnt an elim last game. As the reason he was voted for was because of how he acted last game, that is a pretty iron clad defense against that vote. : ) The other reason of course was that it provokes Xino to say something in thread, and while I would have liked to have heard more, we still haven't heard at all from: @Ookla the Libre... Mid-Range Game 32: The Blight Encroaches
Furamirionind replied to Fifth Scholar's topic in Sanderson Elimination
I disagree that this would be unsustainable. Perhaps you have experience in this statement, but my opinion is that copy and paste are lovely tools ;). (it would be difficult, but I definitely don't think it unsustainable) I just started looking at the Rings. The useful ones it seems to me are: 1, 4, 6, and 7. I don't know what to think about the second layer, as early game it stops us from getting info, and also prevents Moiraine's manip. The other 2 (3 and 5) I am not fond of as they could cause more confusion, and seem very circumstantial to me. I think we should hold this layer (the first layer) through D2, where it will be doing 8 damage. We don't want to be progressing faster than 1 layer per night, as a creeper spawns after each layer is breached, so we will need to make sure we don't let through more than 2 damage. If we accidentally stop the blight from progressing that night, it isn't the end of the world, though we will need to dedicate more resources to protecting. I think we should try to let the Blight breach the 2nd and 3rd layers N2, and D3 (I would prefer if this happened D3, N3, but that would require breaching the first layer when the Blight does 11 damage, which I think is more risky due to the creepers). The Blight will now be doing 7 damage to the 4th ring (or 8 damage if we breach the first ring late). By this point, we should have some Creatures of Aginor, so we should hold this N3 (7damage), and D4 (10 damage). We should try to hold it N4 as well, but I doubt we will be able to. Let the fifth ring fall N4 (9 damage) (but obviously we shouldn't let all the damage through) Remember that the rings have increased health. At this point we probably cant hold all the damage back, but we could stop it from breaching if we wanted to, Ring 6 we let fall D5. It's effect are only useful during the day, so there is no point wasting resources trying to keep it around when we won't be able to keep it N5. Ring 7 is being hit now with 11 damage. We want to keep this ring up as long as possible, but not at the expense of the eye. At this point, what we should do is very much dictated by who is left alive. I was going to try to figure out statistically what we should probably do, but there are just too many important roles at this point in the game, so we will need to figure this out then. (ie, if Rand is alive he shouldn't be defending, if Loial is alive his heal is basically a double defend, if Lan is alive-double defend... etc.)- 583 replies

Mid-Range Game 32: The Blight Encroaches
Furamirionind replied to Fifth Scholar's topic in Sanderson Elimination
For those who are confused, I am Fura. I just finished Skward so in honor of that, I changed my name. (I know I am a little late) The village doesnt have any killing roles if I remember correctly. So if Perrin accidentally protects an elim, it is unfortunate, but it isn't that bad. Just unfortunate. As long as the green man protects Rand tonight (which they should almost every night), and if Snipexe is Rand, he will be protected. I also disagree that if Rand dies we lose the game. But it definitely will make it significantly more difficult. Moiraine could have added a vote onto Snipexe just in case... The elims didnt remove a vote... I dont think this means anything though, since they are the only ones that can remove votes, if they did so, it would be obviously coming from them. Which would cast even more suspicion on Snipexe. @Ookla the Ring, keep in mind that who people interact with in-thread, the wording used, who they vote for, etc. They will be caught in a lie. Maybe not by you or me, but someone. If he claims Rand (which I doubt even if he is Rand), and if he isn't Rand, the real Rand would catch him. Once that Rand is connected to the PM network, action can be taken against them. Ninja'd bard.- 583 replies

Mid-Range Game 32: The Blight Encroaches
Furamirionind replied to Fifth Scholar's topic in Sanderson Elimination
I have started spread-sheeting roles... But not players yet. I probably have my priorities backwards. I have a habit of copying other people's post formats for my posts, so I think I will continue that here: DraughtBringer - the line "Go kill bad guys everyone!" rings strange to me. However, with nothing else to go on for Drought, this isn't much. (Especially since there was no character description, the message may have been made in a hurry) Bard / Ookla the Unprepared - I see this post as basically a "check in" post. Purely to show that Bard is online, but nothing else. Therefore, I don't consider Bard any more suspicious than the others who just did "check in" posts. Karnatheon / Ookla the Ring - Overestimating (possibly drastically) the amount of elims in a game is something that I seriously doubt an elim would do... Though granted, if people generally did overestimate the number, the outcomes (i.e. lack of info sharing, more willingness to lynch on less evidence) could still benifit the Elims. Though I doubt this is likely from someone's first SE game. Rand(uir) - First post summarized some rules, with some minor analysis in there. There is a serious argument for there only being 4 elims (though I like to assume the higher possibility). With the roles that have double lives, and Aginor possibly having three lives... The thing is, if the elims have 4, they probably have pretty much all the possible abilities. With 5 elims, it is likely more balanced. I personally don't like the fact that they said that I did "most of the mathing already". The math part of my post was because I was starting to get into it, but this is a very math heavy game (like I already mentioned). This could be an attempt to imply that people don't need to do the math. Which would give the village a big advantage. Though this could just be Randuir's way of talking as I haven't played a game with them, and from what I have read on the shard about them, they probably would not have made quite as obvious a statement if they were an elim. Snipexe / Ookla the Skeptical - Basically a "Check in" post. Says we need to secure our lynches. NAI I think... D1 is tough, as most things I am reading, with more info i would say is condemning, but NIA alone... And all these people have only made 1 post.) CadCom / Ookla the Duck - Says they won't be active much. Already gave notice, so doesn't mean much i think. Devotary / Ookla the Heretical - Umm... I still haven't had time to thoroughly work through (double check) what the optimal progression through the rings would be. But until I have that time, *gives hesitant thumbs up to Devotary*. Rathmaskal - Poke votes (joke votes?) on Xino. Basically just a check in I think. Xino / Ookla the Phoenix - Check in. I honestly have no idea how to analyse Xino after last game. I think I may just let others try it. SteelDancer - His post describes exactly how I felt immediately after the game started. Took some time for the rules to sink in again before I was willing to make my post... So NAI. MetaTerminal - I may have found MT suspicious with their vote on Bard because of the RP thing, but they took it off once they were told of Bards posting style for this game. So NAI. STINK - Check in post BrightnessRadiant - Well, I was going to mark your post as strange as you did player analysis without voting, but then you voted. Alright, I was ninja'd by: Mr. Doctor, Devotary, Elandera, MT, BR, BR (again), and now Karn. I tried to not ignore things in these posts, but it is hard constantly checking to see. (I haven't read Karn's yet) @BrightnessRadiant the rules say that the Eye gets +2 health for each living member. My interpretation of that is that if a living member dies, then there are fewer living members causing the amount of "+2 health bonuses" to go down. In other words, the eye would lose health. DroughtBringer is who I feel most iffy about right now.- 583 replies

Mid-Range Game 32: The Blight Encroaches
Furamirionind replied to Fifth Scholar's topic in Sanderson Elimination
@Ookla the Ring the forsaken are also allowed to take the group kill action. My question to the GMs was ambiguous though, so they may also be able to take the group roleblock/summon actions. Assuming 5 elims, that means 4 can take actions. I don't think there are many roleless in this game for that reason @Mr Doctor. All of the unique roles have some very powerful actions. Rand can kill any blight creature, Perrin can protect, Lan has the double blight "protect"... etc. Loial isn't very powerful until we reach the eye, then he gets an ability that could give us up to 2 more turns in the game... so pretty good. A roleless person just seems really outclassed to me. It definitely does imply that the unique roles could be in the Doc Groups. As Moiraine is strictly disallowed from being in Moiraines Circle. Assuming 2 Agents of Blight (5 elims), we have 8 players with unknown roles. We know we have 4 in Moiraine's Circle. Let's put 3 villagers in there for fun (+1 elim), which leaves 5 roles. It would make sense to put 2 and 3 in the other groups respectively. We then have 2 more elims who could be in a group, so that could make the differance on numbers in the groups. Assuming no double roles, and no roleless. The game numbers still work out. I don't know how useful any of this is... probably not much... but I enjoy trying to work out roles. I disagree whole heartedly that I have done most of the math. This seems to be a rather math heavy game, and we can tell the maximum game length, reasonable amounts of turns to stay on each Ring... there will likely be more math coming from me.- 583 replies

Mid-Range Game 32: The Blight Encroaches
Furamirionind replied to Fifth Scholar's topic in Sanderson Elimination
I read this as: "STINK, A formless head in the pattern"... Thank the Light that isn't the case. (Um, I don't know how to talk like I am from the world... I am still struggling through the book...) As for the game... I don't necessarily trust my own "game analytical" skills compared to others yet, but I have spent long enough rereading the rules that I should probably post something. First of all, for the obvious observation: The Eye has 38 health currently. Since it only has 30 base health, the rest of it's health must be (I assume) coming from Moiraine's Circle. Meaning there should be 4 of them. If an elim is in that group, bussing that elim would actually be slightly less harmful to them than bussing others, as they would be taking 2 health off The Eye by doing so. Assuming 5 elims , there should be 3 players (I think) with the "Concealed" ability. (I am assuming at least 1 of each role for story purposes) The only way to kill Creepers seems to be Rand's "Strike Against the Shadow" (SAtS... Doesn't look great, but shorter) action. Though there are several ways to kill the Creatures of Aginor. Mat's PMing ability will be useful, as I think all PMs have to go through him/her. There is the issue of if he PMs an elim, they will immediately know who Mat is. Though, as there is probably a ~72% chance to hit a fellow member of The Light (N1 at least), I think it is worth it. Al'Lan's abilities are all passive, but as he get's a boost to Defense, it doesn't seem there are any other actions he can take, and if we can defend 2 D1, that will stop it from breaking through the first ring. It is interesting though, if I understand the rules correctly, Rand gets his "channeling" (and Loial gets "Treesinger") action once all the rings of defense are gone. If we never defend the Eye, at the end of each turn, the result will be (assuming we are on the base health for the eye): D1 - 1st Ring, N1 - 2nd Ring, D2 - 3rd Ring, N2 - 4th Ring, D3 - 5th Ring, N3 - 6th Ring, D4 - 7th Ring, N4 - 21 Health, D5 - 11 Health, N5 - 0 Health, D6 - if Loial survives to N4. This isn't accounting for any factors other than Blight damage, but this gives us 2 uses of Rand's ability, this is I believe the most we can use his ablility not counting people defending. If we defend on the earlier turns, we may extend the game, but we will likely force ourselves to dedicate more resources to defending in later rounds. Which will be fine if we have enough active people at that point in the game, though after my last game... I am just thinking on-thread. I want to think more in deeply about the different variables in the game, and scenarios that can use Rand's "Channeling", but I need to go to sleep for now.- 583 replies

Long Game 51: A Traitor in the Obligators
Furamirionind replied to Straw's topic in Sanderson Elimination
I want to join this game, but 2 SE games + a busy schedule is probably not a good idea. I would love to spectate though. -
Mid-Range Game 32: The Blight Encroaches
Furamirionind replied to Fifth Scholar's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Oh... Well... I was planning on just spectating this one, but the ruleset looks fun so... I guess I will join as Keisa. I apperantly really like names like that... I bought the first book of WoT a while ago, but havent had time to read it yet as I have been working on Skyward instead... I guess I know what I am doing this weekend though.- 583 replies

There is some talk about whether or not Harmony could end up having a differant Intent. Discord is a common alternate one for him. source (ninja'd Rath) This is why I found it so powerful that when Harmony picked up Ruin and Preservation, as Harmony saw them as Stability and Change. It always kind of bugged me that Preservation is seen as "good". Of course, preserving some things I would say is good, but preserving unconditionally... Society loses much. Keeping tradition, or habits for their own sake, I think, is generally a bad practice. Its kind of funny how when deviding up the shards, Ati took Ruin to try to make it less "ruiness", but as far as I know, none of the other shards were concerned with theirs. Unconditional anything can get dangerous. Even Honor. Unconditional Honor, can sometimes force you to do the unhonerable thing, like what hapoened to Kaladin in WoR. I also just realized, Dalinar has a direct connection to all three shards, but Adolin shares attributes with all three. (I am getting sidetracked... Time for another stormlight archive theory I think...) As for Kelsier, I think Chaotic, Neutral, and Lawful, though boxes with limitations, often decribe characters well. I cant imagine Kelsier being anything other than Chaotic. He does whatever he wants. He doesn't care about rules or the "right way" to do something. As long as it works, he will be happy. Though all of his desires can be traced back to himself, I hesitate to call him selfish because of that. My issue, is that if you trace anyones desires far enough back, I think ultimately, the reason for that will be selfish. For instance, I often give money to people who are homeless. But why do I do this? Even things like this can be traced back and made to sound selfish. Ultamately, people such as myself, take these actions because it feels good. Sure we do want these people to survive in our heads, but to an extent, everything we do is because of how it makes us feel. (I can make this argument way better in person rather than in text. : ) ) I could see Kelsier as closer to the evil end of the spectrum. But I would probably think of him more as a neutral character, as he has both good and evil in him. He seems to desire to do good, for selfish purposes. Though I think this describes humans in general, though we dont like to think of it as such. Ninja'd by whatever snipexe's new name is. I am to lazy to scroll up to look.
