What is your opinion of Snipexe then? @Snipexe as apperantly neither person voting on you decided to tag you, please explain why someone would intentionally send you a dagger. Thanks! Edit: @Haelbarde did you ever explain why you voted on Rath last cycle? I suspect El is village. (Based on a wild theory, and not analysis)

Emphasis mine. This reads as extreamly insincere. First you say it is highly likely they are correct, then say that's a bad line of reasoning as framing is what we should be more concerned about. The line "I'd be more worried about..." distances you from the discussion as well. It's possible you used that language as you are distancing yourself from Alv and Hael, but regardless, it still reads as insincere.

Um, I have no idea what your argument is... And... No. I don't see how I'm poking holes in it xD Sure, but my main reasoning is I don't think it's balanced for Joe to be evil. It's possible that the 1/3 chance made him feel like it was balanced enough. And that might be fair. idk how randomness would play a factor in it. However, I think Joe is the obvious first lynch, and if Joe is lynched first, and is evil, that unbalances the game in the villages favor. Not completely true. We pick the governor iirc. In a hypothetical world where Joe is evil, we will know the alignments (100%) of every player. Therefore, we can guarantee that we will pick a village player. If the gov is village, they will pick a villager (because it's in their best interests) If the gov is evil, they will pick a villager (because otherwise they will be outed as an elim, and we will instantly kill both players) I can't see anywhere in the rules where it says the wincon of the survivor changes. @A Joe in the Bush does the Survivor's wincon change?
-
If the survivor is an elim, that's bad. If it's a villager, that's good. If Joe is lynched, we can pick a survivor. When the corrupted constable is lynched, we are guaranteed that the person picked to be the Survivor will be a villager. Therefore, if Joe is evil, both will be triggered, meaning 2 things: 1. It is super powerful for the village, as they are guaranteed to undo a mislynch (unless an elim wants to out themselves.) 2. We wont have triggered any negative effects on us. Notice, 2 constables cause bad things on their death, one doesnt. And one unknown constable causes good things on their death. It would make more sense to stick that on one of the bad effect ones Oh and 3. If we lynch Joe, and he is evil, we will never lynch another constable. Yet it is relevent for some reason we can only lynch 2 of them. Therefore, it would make more sense if there was a situation where we would want to lynch 3. Lynch Joe, then Wilson. Neither is evil. But we cant lynch Gaea now. Or lynch Wilson, then Gaea, but now we cant have the good effect on lynching Joe. I think the latter example is what is supposed to happen. Edit: @DrakeMarshmallow You are no longer alone in defending Joe. : P Edit edit: I suspect Kidpen. I don't like how he responded to my "anti-Joe Lynch thing" with a vote on Joe, while saying he didn't understand my reasoning. Im tired, and likely not the most coherent. However, I would normally expect a villager to prod for details, as we were obviously on at the same time.

It's been a while since I read the rules. Finally reread the constable ones. Will reread the rest tomorrow. Joe is the safest Lynch. It doesn't have any directly negative influence. It can just become negative if later we aren't careful. But even then, that's only true if... Joe isn't evil. I'm fairly certain. If he is, then lynching him has no negative affect on us. We will know the alignment of any player we lynch, and therefore, there will be no risk of using the effect to bring back a village lynched player to keep voting. If an evil person becomes gov, then they have to bring back a village player, or they will be outed as an elim. Strategically just seems far too powerful. While it's possible Joe did this, there are direct negative effects to the other two. I think this is a trap to get us to lynch Joe, and then pick one of the other 2 to lynch. Only giving us a 50% chance on getting the corrupted constable. I don't want to lose PMs though, as I have been too busy today to use them at all. So... xxGaea

I'm back. I have read the thread... however I'm exhausted, and hungry... so before I make a post with votes and stuff, at the very least I'm going to eat. (I have had basically nothing for the past 2 days as these cooks didnt respect allergies at all.) One thing though I'm the lead sound Designer for the production of Mamma Mia. The story is bad, and I'm not too fond of the music either, but its had gotten reviews as the best production of Mamma Mia in WA. (Which is a big thing, as almost every theater in western Wa has done it xD)

Hi, I'm here. Wont be active until later tonight, as im at my theater right now. I like that Drake makes a good arguement as to why he should be elected. Though this makes me nervous that he is an elim... Granted, it's probably unlikely, as you dont need to be governor to flip a vote. There is likely going to be a very specific elim voting strategy this game, which could help with that. The 5% is nominal. 1 out of 20 times this person dies, are they falsely revealed. Therefore, unless we have specific reason to think otherwise, we should assume the lynch results are correct. I think people with daggers should claim. That will give us an idea of how many are out there, and info on who can kill people. That will help narrow down any kills made tonight.

Welcome! This community is amazing. It's one of the few places on the internet I have found where people's first instinct isnt to troll. (Though there is some of that too ) Be careful if you go into threads for books you havent read yet. Everyone tries to be careful and not spoil things... but occasionally you might see a spoiler. What is your favorite charecter so far in the books you have read? If you had to pick one of the Knight Radients powers, which would you pick and why? Also, if you are interested in games, there is a thread for them here. You can find puzzles, writing games, and more! If you are interested in roleplaying, the allyverse is a great group of people. If you are interested in games and/or roleplaying and/or killing your friends, then you might be interested in Sanderson Elimination. It's basically a game of mafia/werewolf, but made into a Sanderson theme. It's a ton of fun, and where I personally spend most of my time. There is a game currently with open signups. I look forward to seeing you around!

Senator Ninoirim opened the door to his study. He was quite proud of all he had accomplished during his term. He had newspaper clippings all around the room, talking about a variety of things, but primarily his political accomplishments. They didn't suspect a thing. There was of course, a small section of papers talking about an old friend of his. Binks had been a close friend and ally in recent times, but it was now important to distance himself from Binks' reputation. He walked behind his desk, and started jotting down the next steps in his plan. When he was new, he tried creating his plans all at once, but they always fell apart at the slightest hitch. You cant plan these things too far in advance. He knew the end goal, and had some ideas on how to get there. However, most of it would have to happen through compromises and fast talking. A rush of adrenalin ran through him. He was so close. A couple more days... KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK, the door rattled violently. Ninoirim jumped from his seat and reached towards an obsidian dagger he was recently gifted. It was a simple, old thing. The person that had gifted it had emphasized some kind of legacy these weapons had, though he wasn't convinced. It was a nice story though. The door flew open, and Ninoirim's butler rushed in. "I thought I told you not to disturb me when in my study!" Niniorim harshly said. The butler stepped back, noticing the dagger close to Ninoirim's twitching hand. a second passed, and Ninoirim, realizing the tension, withdrew his hand. "Sir," the butler continued, "there has been an emergency meeting called in Elendel! All of the senators are being called in for examination about..." He looked meaningfully at Ninoirim, "you know..." "Yes, I do. Thank you for letting me know. I assume the reporter is here already?" "Yes Sir" "Let him in. And don't forget it" "Of course, sir" After 5 minutes of tidying up, hiding the dagger, and any references to Binks, the reporter walked in. "Senator Ninoirim, it is an honour to meet you, I am Adr--" "It's nice to meet you too sir reporter," Ninoirim inturupted, "but I am afraid we are both in a hurry. Why don't we share a carriage to Elendel instead. I will answer any and all questions on the way there, but I am afraid once I arrive, I shall be preoccupied." "Umm, sounds good" The reporter responded. 3.5 hours later, Ninoirim could be seen leaving the carriage, closely followed by his "butler". A closer look however, would also show a dazed and confused reporter, with a couple of pages missing from his notebook. And those even more attentive, may notice an object very well hidden under the butler's cloak. I don't know how much time I'll have, but I'm not missing this game. edit: I love how El, Bugsy, and I all are taking drastically different character approaches. : )

Well really, any cosmere book will have some hints about the cosmere. As you have already read SA, you'll pick up on those hints much better than people who SA last. (Like me) You can find a list of cosmere books here: https://brandonsanderson.com/cosmere/ Personally, I dont think any reading order is that important, but if you want to follow one, it doesnt hurt I suppose. Also, I know it's easy to get sucked into the epic world of the Cosmere, but dont overlook his other books either! "The Reckoners" Trillogy is a great YA dystopia, Legion is a really fun concept that will get your mind thinking, "Alcatraz vs the Evil Librarians" is one of the funniest series' I've read, and "Skyward" which is tied with Oathbringer as my favorite book of all time. They both excel in slightly differant ways. What's your favorite thing about SA/Sanderson's writing so far? (If it's a spoiler, you can hide that text by clicking the "eye" button) While you are here... Are you interested in games, roleplaying, or killing your making new friends on the Shard, you might like Sanderson Elimination! Basically, it's like mafia/werewolf, but sanderson themed. Signups just opened for a game if you are interested.

Oh. Is that how this joke started. xD Was apperantly quite tired last night xD
-
Is this serious? What does that mean? Like if rollover is 8pm eastern, it is now 8pm PST as well? I think I must be misunderstanding, as they gets rid of the entire point of a forum as now you cant have communication in real time. That's what email threads are for. Edit: no matter what you do, you also cant view a thread before it is written, which is why I am wondering if this is a joke. I just didnt expect Bard and Rand to take it seriously...

Mid-Range Game 36: The Northern Wind
Furamirionind replied to DeTess's topic in Sanderson Elimination
It happens to everyone. : ) It's understandable, I had a very similar reaction to getting lynched LG56 due to similar reasons. -
@Straw, I see Elandera is under the spec list but is marked as a pinch hitter. Does that mean the spec doc is unspoiled and separate from the dead doc?

Mid-Range Game 36: The Northern Wind
Furamirionind replied to DeTess's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Oh, I thought I posted here already... Great game everyone! I say most of my thoughts in the spec doc, but I really wanted a Drake/Striker team, but at least it 50% true. I've already said this on Discord, but congrats Striker on finally getting to be an elim! Being village is fun, but... It's not quite the same. I must say though, if the elims were able to submit messages to the spec doc this whole time and just didn't, I'm a little sad. It was a fun mechanic that I think was kindof underused... Not that we really would have been able to help the elims, but still. xD Haven't read through the elim doc yet... but I have it open and... I know I've been talking about switching my main colour to something else, but idk if I actually intend to... @Lumgol did you take my colour? xD (I actually can't tell as the doc is locked, but it looks like it xD) I am very happy I got at least 1 good monologue in the spec doc before the game closed xD Well, It's not something that is normally included in rules from what I have seen, yet elims ask about it almost every game. Perhaps this is something we should either start including, or as village, start asking ourselves. As village, it's important to understand what rules the elims have to follow, and if we don't know something, we should ask. In my games, I have a tendency to post walls of questions to the GM about just about anything I can think of. Even if it seems unimportant. Well, I think you made a bad assumption. You are a great analyzer, but I think at some point people become too good at things. I got that impression from the last time we played. You know you are good at this game, and seem to assume, to an extent, that you are/should be right because of it. While there isn't anything inherantly wrong with that, it can cause people to make mistakes like this. I would also highly recommend GMs include their ruling on this in the original ruleset, but not because of anything to do with this game. It is a common thing elims ask, and something that villagers should be asking. (I for one, will be asking about this in future games) Because of the frequency of this question being asked, it would be helpful to have in the beginning. Since I don't have an alternate colour to use, I'll put this in Italics (and maybe bold? idk): This game has now been added to the SE Stats Sheet, so that should now be up to date* for those interested. As the sheet is still being worked on, stats and such can be found on the pages "DataTest Formula Test" and "DataTest MainTest". Though both of these pages are subject to a name change. If you see any issues with how this game is recorded, feel free to PM me so we can get it fixed. *Up to date meaning this game/recent games have all been added. There are still quite a few (10-20 I think) older games that haven't got their info input yet. -
I'll take the spec doc please. Almost asked to be a pinch hitter, but mid August is the last super busy week for me this summer I think. But even after that, i probably shouldnt : (
-
Also, not sure if the spec doc has been shared yet. I didn't see it, so here it is. Hopefully that works.
