  1. After gathering her things, Valath left the store on her way to a "important" meeting. As if anything would actually come of this.
  2. She smiled. A real smile this time. "You did NOT do your homework before this meeting." A decision needs to be made! Valath slowly nodded. "Very well, I'll join." She hoped she hadn't just made a mistake.
  3. "The Newcago court." She said flatly. " Interesting. Why? Why does this Mack care? " She studied him. "You intend to undermine the authority of the budding government. Earning the people's love and trust so that they will support you over the government."
  4. Valath actually began laughing. "You like direct? Let us be direct! A Traders Union bent on fixing problems and not on money or power? Ridiculous!" She leaned in, eyes fierce. "What is the real goal? Where is the money coming from and who's profiting? Which Guild will be running the opperation? Don't even try to tell me someone's not planing something more with the power and wealth this would bring together." A glance at her emotion bracelet showed her he was nervous. They weren't always the most reliable however.
  5. Valath marched into the room taking a seat directly opposite the man. "What can I do for you Master.....?"
  6. Valath watched one of the newer craftsmen put the finishing touches on a small figurine. It wasn't bad but she would have to get Nakome to make a stamp to fix an error on one of the legs. The man had cracked the stone there. An apprentice ran up to her excitedly she spewed out her message. "There's a man here wanting to see you!" Valath rolled her eyes. "Fine. Take him to one of the meeting rooms and get him tea and snacks." She turned her attention back to the craftsmen. "I'll be right down."
  7. Debbie Willow approached the ornate gates of Art’s Haven with a lively step. The two guards on either side recognized her immediately opening the gates as she approached. She flashed them a smile as she entered the courtyard before her place of work. The courtyard was paved with white tiles that almost seemed to glow with the rising sun. Art’s Haven was beautiful. The tall building (5 floors altogether) was lined with marble pillars that were carved with fanciful beasts. The roof was tiled with a multitude of bright colors, making it look like a rainbow dwelled there. Two fountains bubbled happily, joyously on either side of the walkway leading to the magnificent building. Debbie loved those fountains. They, as was everything here, beautiful. Twin statues stood atop their pedestals one hand upraised as if to summon a shardblade their posters betraying strength and nobility. They were of Knights Radiants one male the other female both dressed in stunning shardplate. A clever use of heating fabrials inside their upraised hands created steam so it seemed that you were actually seeing their shardblades form. Water flowed down the statues backs like capes, filling the wide basins at their feet. Debbie shook herself, hurrying past the fountains up the marble steps and to the main doors. Her coworker, Talam, opened the door for her while shaking his head. She was late again. Rushing in she tried her best to ignore all the beauty in this one room. The high vaulted ceiling with paintings seeming to dance up the walls until they could soar across the ceiling its self. The floor was marble, pristine and crisp. To her left was the lounge where waiting patrons could relax; to her right was her desk. Debbie rushed over to it taking her spot as the receptionist. Along the sides of the wide hallway directly in front of you as you entered were meeting rooms. One of the many master craftsmen or artists would meet with costumers in those rooms. They would talk with them learning exactly what it was the man or woman wanted the finished product to look like. The entrance was only a small part of the large building; the rest was where the actual work took place. The purpose of the entire entrance from the courtyard to the elaborately decorated room was to awe and impress potential customers. Art’s Haven sold more than just statues and paintings however, the store’s main stream of profit came from the owners themselves. Valath and Nakome were masters at their arts. Valath made all the fabrials, while Nakome….. Debbie shuttered as she thought of Nakome, The Forger, she could twist an object’s soul. It wasn’t natural, but who was she to judge?
  8. I think the idea is to add new weaknesses. I like the backstory..... Lot's of room to work with! What's his Epic weakness?
  9. They would be spots where all the investiture has been sucked out of the PR. Basically meaning that no magic can be used while in one, but you won't die just by being there.... For a more complete answere read thread....
  10. Probably should have a vote to see how people feel about the concept..... Even if the Voids aren't implemented until next era (era 4) It would be good to see how many people like/dislike the concept! @#Voidapple
  11. Yup! Makes for some interesting scenarios.... How big were you guys thinking? I was picturing something like a square mile at the most... with a couple hounded yards at the least.
  12. I don't think so because the investiture of the other realms are still there. It's not like their souls would get sucked away. They just couldn't pull any investiture to the PR.
  13. I think it works so long as the Voids only manifest in the PR. The investiture holding the world together would be located primarily in the SR anyways. And besides that if this world is so unstable as to need a spike to hold it together, doesn't it make sense that there would be places that were only barley holding on? Like their investiture from the PR is leaking out.
  14. I think that's what it brings to the table. The opportunity to put your character in a situation where their magic can't help them..... Also tWoT Is about as high-fantasy as it gets and had the steddings.
  15. Nope that leaves room for her to gain skills/abilities as I go!
  16. Option number one! I changed her so that she can't affect people against their will. (Can't even give them power unless they want it.) I was thinking more a power max than a people max.... At full strength (which she's not at now) Maybe Kelsier, Vin, and Elend's power combined? If you consider how powerful they each were in all sixteen metals that would be a lot of power, but not like.... earth shattering. Right now I would put her at half that strength. If she survives long enough (Like a couple of eras probably) She can get to that level. Right now combining all of Vin's strengths in the different metals down to a single one would be a considerable amount of raw power. Thanks for your time and I'm sorry for how complicated this character is!
  17. Kaladin and Syl always reminded me of something, but I could never put my finger on what....until this morning! In a conversation about favorite childhood movies someone mentioned Peter Pan. The moment of realization hit. A guy who can fly with the help of a small flying woman. Don't think this is where Brandon got his inspiration but the concept is now stuck in my head. Kaladin Pan.
  18. There more flexible! and I'm trying to get a different magic with each character sooooo......
  19. We could still have them. they would just be deadly for some people..... which isn't a bad thing! It could be a good thing to have safe havens for the weaker players. We could say that the Voids only manifest in the Physical Realm. That would allow for spirit webs but would still stop people from actively using their powers.
  20. How about now? @Archer
  21. Thanks for all the time you put into this! I don't think it could be used offensively very well..... It's more..... I'm getting a headache If there was a gold misting and a tin misting (assume they are of equal strengths) She would give the extra ability from the gold misting to the tin misting. He could now stretch his senses twice as far as before but wouldn't have to. so she would be like a nicrosil misting with more and less restrictions. More because she can't surprise people with her power and potentially hurt them. But less because she can use her powers with any combination. I was thinking it would be handy if she could suck stormlight and whatnot directly from people but that would be rather OP. considering her weakness only half of her opponents would really struggle with stopping her though.... I don't know! You guys make the call.
  22. OK. I see the problem and will try to edit before going to bed. Just to be absolutely sure before making a bunch of edits: I should cut out the Investiture transformer part and leave her with the ability to add people's power to one another? That would also cut out the forcefully taking investiture from people.... I added it mainly to give her a weapon. (and because I thought it was a cool concept to be able to explore various cosmere magical interactions!)
  23. I think that you wouldn't be able to summon either one. If it's dead plate then it should lock up as the stormlight wouldn't work. I don't think spren would be able to enter at all. Maybe these could be like perpendicularities. A place where the borders between worlds is fluid....
  24. Her powers work with other Epics as well. It was just easier to make examples with cosmere magic! Say you had Meg and Prof, Sam would be able to take Prof's considerable strength and add it to Meg so that she could maybe summon an entire city........ Best example I could think of... I'm trying hard to make sense...
