  1. When will the game start with the signups pushed back? I'm on holiday starting tomorrow and unavailable for a while, that's why I'm asking.
  2. Okay. Shana swallowed at the reply, unable to snuff out the uneasy feeling in her stomach. "Let's head outside?" she asked and took a few steps towards the door leading to the backyard. Rob would never talk to her, never really talk to her while everybody else listened. If he decided to talk to her at all. "It won't take long." she added apologetically, suddenly feeling as if she was intruding on something, as if she was forcing him. "Please," she added, another plea, suddenly wondering when she had started to plead her friend for some of time. When she had stopped knocking on his door, opening and simply marching into it, trusting him to understand, that that was her way. He was tense, even she could see that much. Tense and not really willing to spend time with her at all. Shana looked at him, and then had to look away, suddenly feeling as if it all was breaking apart, as if she was standing there, holding a glass bowl that was about to be shattered by nothing more than a mere breath.
  3. "Hello." Marik turns around, because his writer had played the last round of the hunger games as herself and had decided to change gender this time. As that change had already been establied, it would awkward to change it now. "I'm sorry I didn't reply earlier." he says and blushes a little. "Didn't quite hear you, you know? Missed that you adressed me." Looking the other boy up and down he extends his hand. "I'm Marik." he introduces himself. "Who are you?"
  4. That is hard. Although I can only recommend it. TES is fantastic and a short read as well. Shai is one of my favorite characters overall.
  5. Partially. I liked some of its premises, the magic system and the like, but in the end I only found two urban fantasy series I loved so far, so I wasn't entirely surprised by that. As we're talking about books already: did you read the Codex Alera? I loved them dearly, can't count how often I reread them so far.
  6. Shana smiled at Edwin when he walked over, sat down in one of the chairs nearby. She greeted him with a small wave of her hand. "Do you need a summary?" she asked him before looking over to James again. "I think that might be an advantage." she said slowly, considering her idea. "They don't know you yet, so they have no idea what to expect. When we start looking around they will trust you, maybe hand over some information we wouldn't be able to gain otherwise." With a slight shrug she extended her hands. "We should be able to find them, I think. Between the teacher and Doc we have enough clues to not start searching blindly." Hesitation for another longer moment she then sighed and pushed herself back to her feet. "Maybe we can take a look at Doc's letters. See if he mentioned another location somewhere." With a nod to herself to gather her courage she looked over to the kitchen. "I'll be back." she told him, feeling bad about leaving him like this, but also wanting to get the whole Rob part over with. They had to talk. Better now than later. "I'll talk to Rob, and then come back." Walking over to the kitchen she smiled at Cassie and Rob, knew that she was interrupting, but also unwilling to push it back even further. "I hope you don't mind if I need Rob for a moment?" she smiled at Cassie and then turned her attention to Rob. "I'd like to talk to you." she said simply, her voice calm, but earnest. "If you have a minute?" @I think I am here.
  7. Lucky you! The exclusive dust jacket is so beautiful. Sadly I didn't get that one. I think you will love it. She kept to her strengths and the characters are great, too. Although I have to admit, that I put the first one down after the first chapter and then needed a whole year to get back to it. I never regretted it, don't get me wrong, but the start of that series was a lot to swallow for me. Did you read her other one, the Heir chronicles?
  8. @Lord_Silberfarben ========= Mike nodded, drawing his coat in tightly around his body. "I'm sorry." he said quietly. If he remembered more, everything would be a lot easier. But he didn't. He wasn't even sure about the sword part anymore, but he didn't give voice to these thoughts. There was no need to. He couldn't even explain that even while they walked everything slipped farther and farther away, that even the urge was lessening. He wasn't alone anymore. Maybe all of this had been nothing but a - Freezing in his step he whirled around, eyes fixed on a narrow Alleyway nearby. There was something, something had moved, a figure, as if it was observing them. He stared, not moving a single inch, his eyes glued to the place. It was gone. Gone as if it hadn't existed at all. Hastily he turned around and rushed after the others, tried to cover up his embarressment at his own thoughts, at his imagination. Maybe he needed to eat something. Looking down at his hands he gave a slight nod when he noted that they were shaking slightly. Eat something. Then he would be better.
  9. Oh wow! You really have a great feeling for rhythms and rhymes. I have to do something like three revisions, one to get some ideas down, one to get it rhyme and then I usually need a thrid one to get at least some meassure of rhythm right. Although I'm getting better and faster ever since this started. It takes me less time to get my scribbled drafts into something useful than when I started.
  10. Thank you all for the game Honestly I'm kind of glad Araris was elim. I reread his posts so often but couldn't find what was ticking me off, that at the end I wasn't sure if I should go with my head or gut anymore. Great job!
  11. Who do you think is the other elim? Do you have a tendency?
  12. Hello and welcome! It's rare to find someone naming this series, but I really enjoyed it as well! Did you read the follow up one, too? The Shattered Realms?
  13. Yes, it is risky. If they didn't, it leaves Silber and you as the other two options. Crossing you out of the equation, it leaves Silber an elim. But then, the fact alone that it's risky makes it also possible that they did that, because nobody would think that they actually did it. And then we are in the land of speculation and paranoia. Not counting you and me, there are three candidates left, so two of them have to be the elims, unless we only have two elims overall, in that case it's different. I'm not quite sure about Joe/ Silber being on different teams, despite Joe's vote on Silber. It could be an attempt to gain some trust, especially since we have to lynch an elim every cycle or we'll loose. In the end, I think we have two elims left and three most likely candidates. It comes down to a ~66% chance of hitting one, even if we didn't think at all and simply threw some dice. Although we can diminuish that number by thinking too much and seeing shadows and falling into traps.
  14. I follow the sound of the dinner bell outside of my room. It's weird to be here without something I brought, without something to hold on to, but I am comfortable about my decision. It was the right call to had it over to Ene. I won't give them something my sister held dear. Never. Dinner. If only it wouldn't feel as if that's the last time I'll eat proper food.
  15. Consider me impressed! That's incredible! Out of curiosity how do you, or anybody else at that, go about writing their roasts?
  16. I agree on the fact, that there are 2 elims left. That leaves us in a tight spot (apart from lylo), if only because of those 5 players left, we never had a cycle where all of them voted so far, but to ensure a lynch the village can control, we need that, or an inactive elim. ============ I tried to make up my mind about the other four left. Xino: He voted for Gears in C1 to ensure a lynch, but claimed to have miscounted and didn't break a tie. He voted for Araris in C2 because of the tie Araris caused at the end of the cycle He voted for STINK in C3, again with the reasoning to ensure a lynch --> of his three votes, two of them are confirmed villagers, with Araris most likely being a villager as well Joe: He voted for Gears (second vote) C1 He suspected Illwei C2 He voted for Gears C2 again, good/ same reasoning as others (single target and all that) C3: Of these three suspects both Elkanah and Sart are confirmed villagers, again with Araris being a very good candidate for a villager. --> I have to admit this analysis, as well as the fact that it wasn't followed by any kind of correction makes me very suspicious. Yes, being wrong is part of the game, but that sounds a little to me, as if he tried to divert attention from both Xino and Vapor, by throwing in STINK's name as well to offer some truth. Araris: voted Vapor C1, tied the lynch, claiming to prefer Vapor over Gears, trusted Elkanah to break the tie voted Elkanah C2 for not retracting and for voting with retracting in mind voted first Elkanah, then Vapor C3 (together with me and Elkanah) voted first Silber, then STINK C4 (to ensure a lynch) -->overall: good reasoning, voted for an elim, offers his opinion, stresses the neccessity of team work and collaboration; a villager, despite some uneasy feeling in my gut // if you're elim, well played and GG! Silber: hasn't voted a single time claimed vanilla villager in thread didn't offer a lot of opinions as well has been voted on several times, both by Elkanah and Araris Taking a look at the C1 votes in general: Gears: Sart, Joe, Vapor, STINK, Illwei, Xino Vapor: Matrim, Elandera, Gears, Sorana, Elkanah, Araris The first time the tie was broken in favor of Vapor, was by Joe, then by STINK and Illwei, with Xino adding his vote afterwards as well. Those that voted on Vapor are all confirmed villagers, apart from Araris (not counting myself). Of those voting on Gears, only Joe and Xino don't have their alignment confirmed at the moment. That means for me, that one of Joe or Xino has to be one of the elims, maybe both. TLDR: Xino or Joe are elim, with Silber a possibility. The fact that Joe votes on him clears them slightly, but it could be a way to distance himself. I'd prefer a Xino or Joe lynch over a Silber one, as I'm more sure about them, than about Silber. I am willing to change my vote, depending on what other votes we end up this cycle, or what other arguments show up.
  17. Shana nodded. "What do you think about forming two teams for the moment? You and Ben start to prepare everything we need, make a plan, maybe include Cassie and I," she looked over to Rob again, "I will talk to Rob and see if can find something out about this weird mood of his?" She didn't move though, stayed where she was, comfortable on the sofa for the moment. It was a good place, and it was nice to relax for a moment. To do nothing but speak and think. With a sigh she closed her eyes. Relax while planning how to go on, what to do next. "The new one, the teacher. Can you remember where she was from? Maybe we could start by taking a look at that place."
  18. While James considered her words Rob finally returned inside as well. He went into the kitchen, although he had seen them, poured himself some water. Shana moved a little, made sure she could see the door to the kitchen to get up once he was finished inside. His and Cassie's voice drifted over, harmless, softer talk and it was oddly relaxing to see him like this. Maybe James was wrong and Rob simply had a bad day. Maybe. She would talk to him nonetheless, make sure she would catch him once he left the kitchen. "Yes, maybe." she replied quickly to James realized she had missed the first part of his reply, but getting the part about asking Doc. "You never know how the others act." Hope fully that wasn't too far away from what he expected to hear. "But still - what if there are others, others even Doc doesn't know of? What if they are actively hunting them and they don't know that we don't know and now we have a war, just because of a few individuals fighting each other." She shook her head. "Maybe we should also look ourselves. See what we can find out apart from Doc's contacts. They always seemed to be very sensible to me, so maybe there is a third party? A party none of us knows about, but who is be it actively or not, making the situation worse, creating a full blown war? EDIT: (ninja'd by Luna ) Ben spoke up as well, agreeing, suggesting basically the same she had. Or had she even spoken aloud? Somehow it felt a little weird to repeat his words. "We could go ourselves." she said, "see what we can find. And then we can form an opinion?" @Lunamor
  19. "Where do we need to go?" Mike asked curiously, a sliver of hope sliding into his voice. "You really know him?" He looked over to Freya, amazed by how good this had worked. They had talked to two people and now they knew exactly where to find the man. Easy. So incredibly easy. Awed he smiled at her in thanks, grateful that she had suggested this, that she had agreed to come along. This was good, perfect to be honest. And then he could talk to him and they could solve all of this and then, then he would finally know what was nudging him at the corner of his mind. =========
  20. Sorry, took me a little, weekends usually are quite busy for me. So here you are:
  21. Okay, I don't have the time for a longer analysis today, so here is what I have in mind at the moment. At first - I am really glad Vapor was an elim. That's somewhat a relief and it also cleared Araris for me. The paranoid part of my brain tells me, that it could all be a ploy and Vapor was bussed, but I'm going to ignore that for the moment. It doesn't quite fit Araris other behaviour and reads, so: Araris = village until I decide otherwise or have the time to go back and reread all of their posts. Additionally the fact alone that Vapor tried to move the lynch to Araris last cycle, will have to be enough for now. I'm glad Sart posted again, and his reads align somewhat with mine, which can be a good or a bad sign. Anyway. At the moment I think it's most likely that one of STINK or Joe are an elim. I still have no idea regarding Xino or Silber, and the few posts Silber left this cycle didn't really help. Pure self defense without a lot of information for me to use. It's a little interesting that he started posting more now, the moment there is more pressure on him, if he really wanted to contribute as a villager, he had a lot of chances to do so, so maybe he is an elim trying to hide behind the low activity. But again, I'm not sure, nor do I know his usual village playstyle. I feel as if I should go and reread both Joe's and STINK's posts last cycle in order to sort myself a little more. From what I remember Joe filed Vapor as village, as well and STINK? I'm not a 100% sure, but he did vote for Elkanah. The way things turned out that doesn't really fit together at all anymore, which makes me wonder if he tried to clear another teammate, while throwing some suspicion elsewhere at the same time. Before placing my vote I'd be interested to hear how you see the game at the moment @STINK @A Joe in the Bush
