  1. Sagitta followed Price example and sat down as well, although his words to the strangers confused her. Had she missed some kind of introduction? She made sure she sat between Price and Zura, despite sitting ready to get up, should Zura attack Price, but now her attention shifted to the strangers. Price claimed to know their plan, so she had missed something. Maybe she had been knocked out - no, they had talked. She Price and Zura had talked, about the gods, about the world. About the stars. She had told them the story of how Ta'e'ilo had been named. Then the strangers had arrived and then had continued to talk. About the war, and... about travelling? She was sure, obviously she had been so preoccupied with making sure that noone killed each other, that she had missed a part of the conversation. "I am sorry, but I have to admit, I forgot your name. I am Sagitta T'Sora, would you mind telling me yours again?" She adressed those that had joined their group. @AonEne @Archer
  2. *nods in agreement without any idea what is going on.*
  3. Wita continued to listen to the music, changed the disk for another one and then resumed dancing. It was nice to dance, to be able to listen to music. Her time at the disco had been cut short, although what had happened was exciting. She was a detective. And Marcel had offered to teach her things. She had to ask about the beautiful stamps he made. Maybe he could teach her how to do them as well. It would be nice to know how to do some art. There were so many ways she could make a picture with them. She waited for the others to come back, but when nobody came after a while she grew bored and stopped the music. Carefully she put the disks back, in different order, but she put them back, made sure the room was tidy again. She took her time to tidy up, chaos always distracted her. It was better when things were in order. Easier to grasp what was going on and where to find things. "Hello?" She called out to the others. "Did you find something?" @Hope Spren @Eluvianii @I think I am here.
  4. Jessy tilted her head back and laughed. It was hillarious. And threatening. Because she had no way to stop him, to stop any of this. They wanted for her to be a rat and she would be a rat. The only thing left was her pride. Pride and a show of strength to keep them away. Again she wondered how it could have happened, how she, for all good things she, ended up in such a mess. "Tell me one reason, one single reason, why I should allow you to analyze my DNA." She shook her head. "Because I'm pretty sure, that I'm not alright with that that."
  5. "Hello." Temeria smiled an uneasy smile and looked at the woman who was waiting for something. The woman shook her head and quickly walked away, left her standing alone - no, she wasn't alone. There were so many. Temeria clenched her hands to fists and approached another man, wearing strange cloths. Black pants, a black vest and a white tunic? No, not a tunic. It looked, different. "Hello." She greeted him, forced her smile back on her face. He turned to her and seemed surprised. "I am looking for the Scholar's guild?" She asked quickly, when she saw him eye her cloths, her weapon strangely. He moved a step back, but still extended a hand to a street to their right. "Follow that one for a while, then take the fourth, or the fith to the right. You should be able to see it easily, it's a huge building, hard to miss." "Thank you." She replied and hesitated to leave, considered to ask another question, maybe who lead the guild, or if there was some kind of ritual to follow, but he eyed her sword again and quickly left her standing there. Temeria closed her eyes and walked through the streets, followed the directions of the man, until she finally arrived at a huge building. Compared to the court of gods it was tiny, but then the court was gigantic. She hesitated, looked at the door for a while, unsure what to do next, if she really should walk up there, ask for information, directions. Her fingers closed around the coin again, her thumb brushed over the bowler hat and the crossed nails. She had to. It had been worth to knock on the door of the Boarding House and she never had been a shy person. She wasn't sure why it was so difficult for her to knock here and now - she knew. Because she was afraid. Afraid that the next person to help her would vanish as well. Temeria put the coin back into her pocket and then stepped forward. Resolutely she lifted a hand and knocked on the door. @Rushu42
  6. Mike flinched when Lusk stressed his name like that, and instinctively lowered his eyes. Squirrel hopped onto a stool, her feet, no his feet, their feet almost silent when he blanced over the stood and then jumped back down to the ground, he movements fluid and quick. Squirrel missed her trees. Humans buildings were boring. With an internal scream Mike rushed back into his own body and took control again. Embarressed he continued to look to the ground, while he walked through the huge room, and along its sides. Several smaller rooms were there, and his ears could pick up voices. Ghostbloods, some scared, others slaborating over longer theories what had happened. As if they knew. They had no idea, how the Uninvested were able to come here, to take over like that. To kill Mr. Itiah. Mike felt a pang of loss when he remembered the man, the one person that had been nice to him. And Wes. But Wes had fled and he had scared Seom away. Mike didn't really watch where he went, instead he froze when he suddenly heard a familiar voice. The assistant. She was standing in one of the adjacent rooms, talking. "...important, that we find out how they got in. If it's traitors, or if the barrier isn't working correctly. Lusk and some Underlings will look into the matter, but I'd like for another team to look into the matter as well- " A scream echoed out of the room and Mike jumped in surprise, whirled around to see if the others had heard it as well. A woman rushed out of the room in front of him, her eyes panicked. Slowly he edged closer to see what had happened. @I think I am here. @Truthless of Shinovar @AonEne @Oduim’s Chmapion @kenod
  7. *shakes head* saw it.
  8. Shana followed him, but stayed close. She had tried to face her fear once, that was enough for today. The pool was still calm, the water mirror like. She picked up a part of the candles, avoided to look at the water at all. "My parents drowned." She told him quietly and offered him the candles. "I can barely remember, only the water pressing on my mouth and nose. Someone pushed me on a roof," she fell silent. "My dreams are clearer, but the blurr when I wake up." Swallowing she closed her eyes. "It's like a far distant nightmare that never leaves me. Only when there is water, then it all comes back, the fear, the pain. Only the fear, the feeling that I'm dying." "Rob knows - but Ashlyn is here, I couldn't ask him."
  9. Grateful Shana shot him a quick smile. Ashlyn was around, so she stayed quiet about that topic as well. "Let's go to the pool?" She asked and sighed. "The last days - it's been too much for me. I have no idea how to handle all of this. The wedding, the attack, Ben, all of this."
  10. Althea looked at the boy and considered his idea. Bendalloy. Interesting. She inclined her head in agreement. The Underling was smart. To use a Bendalloymind in that situation, it could solve all of this, although it depended on the type of metalmind he was talking about. "It can work." She told him and turned back to the worm. It had swallowed Karin - not neccessarily a death sentence for the woman. Althea remembered her words about her studies, and then there was Aylitha. That they two looked like sisters a possible coincidence, but with the DA there rarely were conincidences. She suspected that they would know soon. "What is your plan?" She asked the Underling, curious to see if he was able to put his fear aside and concentrate on the situation. If he was it would add some points to his usefulness. She disliked the fear in his voice, the way he stuttered. It reminded her of different times, and it also reminded her that some of their higher ranking members did a bad job when it came to developping and teaching newer members. They needed bright minds, no fear filled idiots. @I think I am here.
  11. "There is." Shana nodded. "But I don't want to talk about it now. Not on Jace wedding day." She sighed. "It's part of the reason I bonded my spren." Her eyes were still on her pancake. "It's no happy story."
  12. So we have the Ghostbloods. They are assassins and rule Oasis City. They practice hemalurgy, and have some base research about investiture things. Then there is TUBA, a guild focused on baking, they are a bit the opposite to the third guild, and tendencially the good guys. I agree with Ene, TUBA might be a good way to introduce a character, since we're planning to send a group down at the moment. Then there is the Dark Alley, crazy scientists, with immense knowledge about everything, whose leaders created our world. Smaller guilds are the scholar's guild or the canton of combat, most of the others are inactive.
  13. Do you have an idea what kind of plot you would like to participate? In general the tavern might be a good way to get started, just to get to know other characters, although the focus there is more on rp and less on plot.
  14. Shana leaned back, grabbed another pancake that was leftover from breakfast and started to eat. There were so many things she wanted to talk about, so much stuff, she wasn't even sure where to start. Wasn't even sure if she should start at all. If she did, then he know it all, would consider her weak. And she couldn't afford to be weak. And yet his offer was nice, it felt good that someone cared, wanted to talk. She didn't quite understand why he was interested now, when he hadn't been interested earlier, but at the same time it felt too good to ignore his offer. "I'm scared of water." She finally admitted quietly, looked at her hands, holding the pancake. "I tried to place the candles in the water, but I just couldn't. I couldn't even get close to the pool."
  15. Lena shrugged. "Let's go to our old headquarter. We can leave a message there, asking them to come to the Harbor in a day, if they are interested in a heist. If nobody shows up, we can do it on our own, if not, we have a larger crew on our hand." She stopped waited for his decision, so that they could walk in the right direction. If they wanted to go back to Maq's lair, then they would have to head to a different quarter of the city. She finished her chocolate bar, smiled when everything suddenly became a full circle. That they returned, spoke about maybe getting the old crew together again, that they planed a robbery - today was a very good day.
  16. "Cohesion, sure." Lena agreed although she had no real idea if Cohesion was the right... She wasn't even sure what it was. Magic. Like everything else, it was magic. But if it worked to keep stone together, or to repair it, then it was exactly what they needed. They turned another corner, slowly neared the quarter of the forge. "I know that they are expensive, but we are good. We robbed Alleyzon. There is no reason, we shouldn't be able to get our hands on a motivator to repair some houses." @I think I am here.
  17. "The old hideout. We could leave a message there, in case someone else drops by now and then." Lena bit into her chocolate bar again and looked around. "We could steal some weapons, give them to the people to fight off the gangs by themselves. That would also make it easier for us. Or we steal a different fabrial - one to make it easier to work with stone for example. That could help building the houses more quickly."
  18. Althea looked over to the side of the cavern when a huge worm had appeared, it's scales still dripping water. She heard people scream, yell to each other, but she only watched for the moment. Hear his friends? It sounded like a good offer, maybe first step towards trust. If she was able to hear what they said, then she might be able to learn about them. It was good, she hadn't talked to an artifact in a while, usually the prefered if people and voices in general stayed out of her mind, left it alone. But his idea was good - the Underling screamed and ran away, the other members of this expedition were already fighting. It jolted her out of her thoughts, made her focus on something else. "Yes, but we'll have to talk about that later." She replied calmly to Adren and hastened over, placed herself in front of the Underling. Stupid boy, getting into danger like that. Wasn't he an engineer? He had no place in the first row, in front of a monster. He would learn, or he would die soon. Calmly she looked at the worm and a part of her froze when she realized what the others had screamed. Soothing. She questioned herself, the way she had reacted to Adren's idea, how she had taken her time getting to the Underling - the soothing was so different from rioting and at the same time so similar. Her hands started to shake slightly when a memory surged, when it branded against the soothing, easily broke it apart. Desperation rolled over her when she remembered when she recalled the way he had ripped her apart, the loss the helplessness. How her mind had been used against her, how it had been nothing more but a ball in his hands. She bit her teeth together and forced herself to inhale. Fear clenched down her heart, but something else joined it, a samiliar storm, a power beyond her memories and herfear. It had worked in the last war as well. The stormlight helped. It was her weapon, her home. She knwe she had been using too much during the last months, had shooed her memories away whenever they surged - knew that she needed time to work through it. Time and not a luminious worm soothing her. One time, she only wanted one sinlge time where nobody tried to influence her thoughts, to trick her mind, or to steal her memories. One single time. Her face stayed a cold mask while she felt like hiding, like running away and it took years and years of maintaining her mask to keep it now. Only her hands. Her hands would tell a different story. Althea inhaled again, forced herself to remember the Underling behind her, the running ACE employees in front of her. She had come here for a reason, and for one reason alone. Follow her oath, analyze a situation and act. Althea stared at the worm, at its huge form and she gently reached out for the spren of the air touching its hide. Partially it was still covered by water, but water was the wrong essence to work with right now. Air was the right one. Air was difficult, it liked to be free, to fly around, and to trap it in solid form needed a good bribe and good arguments. Good thing that she had enough stormligh to give some to the spren and the arguments came to her easily. She'd always loved to soulcast. The familiar banter with the spren added to the comforting feeling of the stormlight, until she felt like she could think again, could look past the fear in her mind. It took nothing but a gently push of her mind and a part of the air changed to acid, slowly eating through the hide of the worm. @TrailRunnin @ZincAboutIt @Rushu42 @Grey Knight @I think I am here.
  19. Shana paused, when he asked what was on her mind. Strong, she'd planed to be strong. And yet, the offer to talk came unexpected and at the same time she had yearned for it, had worried about the candles, about everything. "Could you maybe place the swimming candles in the pool?" She asked him, not mentioning the reason why she hadn't put them there. "They are lying on the ground next to it." Scattered would be a better description, but she still tried to avoid him thinking of her as weak. She had to fight, she had to be strong. She had to. It was her place. If she lost her place, her reason to be here, she had nothing else left.
  20. "A race?" Jessy explained and sighed. "Alright, this leads nowhere. So you want to study us." She folded her arms in front of her chest. "What do you plan to do?"
  21. Shana went upstairs into her room and stared at her mess for a moment. Then she started to look through her cloths, searched for some jeans that weren't dirty, or had been washed so often that the fabric was showing signs of use. In the end she found a pair that were a bit crinkled from lying in a corner for who knew how long, but at least they were clean. Quickly she put them on and removed her shirt, started to look for something a little bit nicer than a simply shirt. Her search prooved futile this time and in the end she had scattered her cloths all over her bed and table, only to come to the conclusion, that the one green shirt she had in mind was too small. Unsurprisingly, she hadn't used it in two years. She threw it back on her general pile of cloths and sat down, hugged her knees again, stared at the chaos she had created. Her room was never as organized as Ben's, but right now, it looked like something had exploded inside of it. With a sigh she lay back and looked at her ceiling, tried to think of a good solution. In the end she exchanged the clean light blue jeans, for a darker one that was showing signs of wear, but with the darker blue she could wear a cream colour shirt, that looked nice with the slight red touch of her hair. She had to move her climbing equiptment out of the way, so that she could close the door of her wardrobe and look at herself in the mirror. She looked like a teen. There was nothing festive about her outfit, nothing that screamed, wedding. It was a pair of jeans and a shirt. She wished she had something nice, something she could simply wear for an occasion like that one, something that fit and suit her. Jace and Ax would look splendid in their suits and she was wearing a pair of jeans. Anger flared again and she picked up her dirty cloths, finally carried them into their lavatory, stuffed them into the washing maschine and started it. There, now that was done as well. She walked back into the kitchen, looked around to see who was stil there. James. She forced a slightly artificial smile on her face when she remembered the candles in the backyard, considered to ask him to help her and put them into the water, but instead she stayed quiet. She had to be strong, he had to know that he could rely on her to do her job. Doc didn't trust her, if James stopped trusting her as well she was as good as useless. "I found some fitting table cloths and spread them on the tables. I think we're good to go, once Edwin is back and Cass and Leona finished spreading the flowers." @Eluvianii @AonEne
  22. "Who are you?" Mike asked and his voice dropped when Wolf surged forward, his words rumbling out of his throat. He moved between Mari, Lusk and the Newcomer, wolf trying to protect those he knew. He didn't reach for his knives, Wolf prefered to fight without them and he stared at the man for a moment, until he managed to gain a sliver of control again. Wolf moved backwards, but he could feel him waiting, observing, ready to act should the man be a threat. "I know the bar." he added, without looking away from the man. He'd planed to go there with Seom. Before he had lost Porcupine. Comfortingly Squip wrapped itself around his hand and Mike smiled at the sensation. He liked Squid. Squid and Squirrel, the two kept him sane. @I think I am here.
  23. Lena nodded, started to walk away from the building. "You were right." She shrugged, pulled out two chocolate bars out of her bag and offered him one. "They are guild. They have no reason to help, and so they don't." She bit into the bar and swallowed. "I only do this, because I gain something from it, and with you it's the same. To expect that they were different, that a guild would be different-" she shrugged again. "I liked your idea about getting a fabrial. We should do this. Maybe we can place a note in our old briefcase, the one we used when we were still more. See if anybody would be interested, is still around. And then we can do what we are best at." "Back to the roots and all that." She grinned excitedly at her own words. "We have to do this our way, or we won't be successful."
  24. "Don't worry, we don't intend to stay here." Lena said wryly and walked over to the door, then turned around and waited for Alask. What an insolent woman. Pround and arrogant, just like the rest of them. The guilds were all the same. They lived in their own world, didn't care for those not belonging to them. Lena shrugged, her hand playing with her bag. Alask had been right, he had been right all the time. Maybe wiping the guilds of the surface of this city would really do all of them good. And it would offer plenty of reason to poison them all. She considered the thought, tried to find it boring or depressing, but instead it was more a challenge. Start small, build your own thing - and then destroy them all. "Let's go?" She asked Alask, considered where to go next. Back to the Forge and then, maybe it was finally time for another heist.
