    "What?" Mike asked. "Who is immortal?" Slowly he got back to his feet, rubbed his hip where he had fallen on the floor. "Well, we're working for those that pay us. I don't think we're the most secretive you could find. But Bella is cool, she's strong and she's scary. "

    Mike nodded eagerly. He wanted his help. Someone wanted his help. "Sure!" He jumped to his feet and winced, when his spikes moved. He'd almost forgotten about them for a moment. "I'm part of some kind of gang, you could come and join us! Bella wanted to recruit new members, and then we planed on meeting later today." He felt his leg strech and with a groan tumbled to the ground, as his leg suddenly changed into the arm of a squid. Focus, he needed to focus. As long as he wasn't distracted, he could at least stop his body from changing. Pressing both hands against his leg, he imagined flesh, bones, a knee, a foot. He needed to change back. A sob escaped his lips and he forced himself to take a deep breath. Breathe, the soother had told him, in one of their sessions. Breathe, it is your body. You share it with some animals, but it's still your body. His body his leg. Slowly he felt his flesh harden again, and sagged in relief.

    Althea stared at Sebastian. Ask about the amulet. She wasn't his servant or something like that. Softly she touched her bond to Max. Will you have my back? she asked quietly, without looking away from the intruders. @I think I am here.

    "The people." Mike replied, his voice intense, passionate. "Those belonging to the Dark Alley are everywhere, and they will use you for experiments and then they will throw you away." "If you're lucky, you only stumble in a guild war, or in one of their conflicts. Some of them are always fighting." He thought for a moment. "We had some peace a few years ago, but then that was precedented by a nuclear explosion, so I'm not sure if that counts." Eying Redatrick he extended his hand. "I'm Mike. And you look dangerous, you'll find a way."

    Mike nodded impressed. The man was strong, professional, not goving up, even if he just learned, that he was in a different world. One day Mike would be strong as well. "Keep away from the Alleys." He answered. "The hospital is safe. As for the rest, nothing is."

    Lena went back upstairs and finished her Taco, grinning again. At least she had been spared that conversation. "Would you mind, I went outside for a while?" she asked Sebastian.

    I have no idea. That's why I asked. Althea replied, breathed in more stormlight and stepped towards Sebastian. "Solace confirmed, that he didn't send you here. And I neither appreciate, that you try to fake documents, nor that you attempt to take over - and I won't let that happen." She held out her hand, summoned Brashen. Max thought the halberd was scary, so she went with that one. Not that she could wield it any better than the staff she had used against Lusk.

    Lena whirled around and stormed towards the basement, to talk to Myriad. Stupid, stupid, stupid Lena.

    Mike shook his head. "Not my job. Where will you go?"

    "Lizard people, I..." Mike stared at the stranger and then hastly pulled his sleeves over his arms. He fell silent looked at his fingers. Calm, he needed to stay calm. When he was stressed, it became worse, he even had a hard time to control it when he was calm. "I'm no lizard." He whispered and then hastily changed the topic. "How did you come here? And what are you doing?"

    "Scadrial!" Mike exclaimed and leaned forward. "That's so cool!" Then he realized he hadn't answered his question. "There are many. Those that draw these symbols, then those using the light, then those with the metals. Then there are those, that are strange, but they always have a weakness and..." He fell silent, pondering. Investiture lessons had been boring. "Oh some can awaken things." Shrugging he grinned a bit embaressed. "I'm missing some, sorry."

    Mike nodded. "Alleyverse. This," He indicated everything around them, only belately realizing his sleeve moved back and showed some scales covering his arms. "Is the Alleyverse. Where do you come from?" "Investiture is like magic." He explained badly.

    Althea suppressed her annoyance. The bullents were harmless, for her at least, but not everybody here would be able to heal from a bullet wound. Sebastian was at least arrogant enough to remind her of Solace. Solace. She reached out for him, all the while daring the moment should he really reply. She didn't even know where he was, hopefully he wouldn't even hear her. Her hand closed itself to a tight fist, but she forced herself to go on. Who is this Sebastian? And why did you sent him, instead of coming yourself? Are you that scared of us? @Lord Meeker

    The doctor started to speak, but then he was called away. Promising to send someone over to explain he hurried away. ======= Mike walked into the room and looked at the stranger. He had spent the last year doing the jobs nobody else wanted, stepping on the toes of the higher ups never really paid. And now he had to check why that stranger had travelled here, what he intended. He knew he was lucky to be alive, but still, mostly he was bored. "Hey. Doc told me you asked some questions." He sat down on a stool. "You're in Alleycity. In the Alleyverse. This hospital looks after everybody who needs help, though they might ask after a donation if some sorts." He thought for a while, there had been a second question? The healing, right. "Doc healed your grave wounds using Investiture. The other he stiched together."

    Althea sighed. "Would it be possible for Solace or Rhazien to come here in person?"

    Mira watched, carefully observed her patient. She made sure he didn't die while Kera tried using stormlight out. ================= "You need to rest. At least for a while." The man replied sternly. "I can call someone to accompany you, but you need to rest for now." He smiled at the stranger. "I'll try to speed your recovery up as much as possible."
