    "We have enough training grounds to use." Althea replied.

    Althea fell silent for a moment, thought about his words. Actually it was easy. If she took a step back now, she had lost. "Alright. Then let's settle this between the two of us. But not here, this is a wedding. If I win, you leave him alone, if you win, welcome back to your former position."

    "So you will go to this meeting?" Lena asked slightly annoyed. He'd asked her to poison someone and without a victim it was boring. "And do you have something to eat?"

    It took a lot to keep smiling, to maintain her expression. His words hurt. Because she knew a lot would be saying them, behind her back. Because even if she knew better, he still hit a nerve. "I won't. Why should I?"

    "Can't hurt to be careful." she replied. "And sure, I'll talk to him. Though it has been a while, since I've met someone who was better than me." Taking a sip of the punch she added: "So what am I doing here?"

    Althea smiled at him, a cold, thin smile. "You are a creative person. You know the Ghostbloods, and you know what it takes to climb up through the ranks. As to why - I'll leave that one to your imagination."

    Althea kept her face impassive, something she had perfected over the years. His words - hurt. She knew they were wrong and yet, she also knew there was truth in them. Not in Max manipulating her, but in herself accepting the first one that had shown her kindness. After he - Oasis again. She shut that thought away. Actually there was a lot less truth in his words, than he tried to make her believe. For a moment she hesitated, then shook her head. This was going exactly how she had imagined, a catastrophy. But the thought of Max, of his reaction, she couldn't take it, not after everything that happened. "Alright. So let's talk frankly about this. You leave him alone. No waving through a hall, no forced conversations or whatever you find entertaining. Just leave him alone. You do a good job, and I appreciate the work you've done so far - but you are by no means unique."

    Althea kept her voice level. "You know what I mean." She told him coldly. @I think I am here.

    Althea thought about her words for a moment and then realized there was no good way for this. But not acting at all, would have been worse. "I don't want to intrude in the way you lead your subordinates too much, but I'd appreciate it, if you'd stop mocking my husband."

    Althea smiled apologetically at Tena. "Sorry, I need to have a word with that guy. He's hurting Max." She walked over to Lusk and looked at him for a moment. Finally he had separated himself from the others a bit. "We need to talk, if you have a moment?"

    Lena grinned at him. "Yes it is." She walked over to the pincher and filled herself a glass of punch. Out of habit she sniffed it and then took a small sip, tasting for a poison. "I guess it's yours?"

    "Thank you. That really means a lot." She took Tena's hands and smiled at her gratefully. "I will keep it in mind." @AxeliustheGreat

    "I grew up in an orphanage. I never had parents. They gave me away shortly after I was born." She told Tena quietly. Looked over to where Max was standing and smiled thoughfully. "He's the first family I ever had." "Be with my child. Patience and discipline. Ask for help." She smiled at Tena. "Thank you. That sounds like I can do it." @AxeliustheGreat

    Althea followed Tena to a place, looked at her hands, unsure how to start. "So, Max and I talked. About children." She stopped, tried again. "I don't know what it means to be a mother, what I should prepare for, should I get... So I wanted to ask if..." With a sigh she shook her head. She was messing this up. "Do you have some advice? It really isn't urgent, but you're the only mother I know..." She fell silent, hoped Tena understood.

    Althea followed the exchange between Max and Lusk and then focused on the reason she was here. She smiled at them, tried to find the right words. "Congratulations. I hope you will find everything you wish for in this marriage. You look fantastic, both of you." She stepped closer to Tena. "Do you think you have a moment for me? Maybe tomorrow or whenever it fits?"

    "No. But I am in favour of tying him up and putting someting over his eyes and mouth. So far he always gestured when he used investiture." She leaned down and pulled of his glove.

    Althea took Max hand, softly tightened her fingers around it. She observed Anthony and Tena walk away again. They looked great, though maybe a bit hasty? But then she remembered well how many people you had to greet and so she didn't mind, looked around the hall. She felt Max tense and simply stayed by his side, quietly observed Lusk.
