  1. Arial again?

    Why, Chaos? Why?

Seriously, though, it would probably be a permanent change from Calibri to Arial (Arial letters are so sharp and blocky...Calibri is so much nicer and smaller and smoother...) that would get me to leave the Shard. :P

I'm not 100% sure either, but I think that is what Silva's comment is about... I can't ever recall seeing the Shard in Calibri though.

      Yep. It's about the change...again.

Shard's been on and off switching between the text of posts being in what looks like Calibri and what looks like Arial to me.

Look at the "o"s. The one in the text being written is longer and less circular, like Arial.

...and I'm honestly not even a typophile.

We should use steel alphabet font!

  2. Light Acute stepped onto the bridge. The short walk had exhausted it more than it should have, though each day was a little easier. She focused her attention on the others in the room. Some were Marines she recognized, others were people she didn't recognize. There was a man and a woman speaking with Azrael. Ghostbloods, she assumed by the words they spoke. Their tattoos weren't visible, but she knew somewhere on them was a mark matching the one on her forehead. Light untucked some hair from behind her ear to let it fall in front of her face. Like most of the other Acutes, she didn't like blaring Hellbent's mark to the world. On a screen the world outside was visible. There was a dark fog spreading among the city. "What in Harmony's name is happening?" she muttered to herself. Last she'd heard Crow had been captured - any more than that was new to her.
  3. Or, you know, just yell "Who wants to destroy evil today?" Much less danger.
  4. "I dislike this plan more than you could possibly imagine," Pry said. She, Freedom, and Eve were in the apartment's kitchen. Freedom was standing in the doorway playing with a strand of hair, Pry was sitting on a stool, and Eve was pacing again. "You don't need to like it. If the situation weren't like this I wouldn't even suggest it," Eve said. "Look outside. Is this normal?" "No. But that doesn't explain why it can't be you! Or me for that matter!" Pry said. Her voice was edging away from neutral. "Why does Freedom need to be the one endangered?" "They want special Investiture. I haven't got any, your F-brass isn't all that uncommon. Atium, however, is not something you find everyday," Eve said. Freedom thought about her meeting with Lusk. It was true. Atium ferrings weren't a dime a dozen. "Pry, she's right," she said. Pry ignored her and looked straight at Eve. "We are not sending my sister into danger unless the situation worsens and absolutely demands it. Do you hear me?" The knot in Eve's stomach increased. There would be no way to prove that to Pry without Freedom. She nodded anyways, trying to swallow the lump in her throat. "I'll see you later," she said and exited the apartment. Freedom made eye contact with Pry. Her sister's expression remained stony and she knew it wasn't about to change. She sighed. "I'm going to my room for a bit." She needed to space to think. And time. But she had a feeling the second would become hard to come by soon.
  5. She nodded and picked up the needle and piece of thread with her right hand. She paused a moment before rolling back her left sleeve. Seeing her exposed hand was a little unnerving for her despite being Scadrian, but she forced her attention back to the task at hand. The thread was coarser than she was accustomed too, but then again, not everyone could afford silk. She threaded the needle, keeping her hands as steady as possible. To value-maximize she knotted only one end - single thread stitches would probably work better. Just like quilting. Just joining two layers together. Aderet thought to herself as her gaze drifted back to Arun's wound. Nothing you can't do. She knelt down and started to work as carefully as possible. Just like quilting. @kenod @Sorana
  6. "I'll be in touch," Eve said. She didn't know exactly what her strategy was going to be, but she knew she couldn't just sit back and watch. Even if her mind rebelled at the very thought of standing up. Because that was it, it dawned on her. She was scared of them. Terrified even. They'd taken everything from her. Orphaned her thrice. She had nothing left, so she had nothing to lose. At least, that's what she thought. Eve gave once last glance at the woman and then went on her way.
  7. You will never be free again.
  8. I refuse to confirm or deny whether or not I read them. But you should know, my yodeling skills are quite excellent. They've never been insulted as they've never been used.
  9. I think you just lost again.
  10. A kid looked up from the cookie he was eating. White frosting and sprinkles were all over his face. "Everyone everyone?" he asked, excitedly. That meant big stuff. Not that he'd be included, but no one ever included him in anything fun. Like the dangerous stuff. They all said he was too young. Though they did let him run metal detectors every once and a while. He then realized that he'd just stood there awkwardly instead of actually getting everyone's attention. The kid jumped up and ran over to a panel on the wall. After typing in a passcode incorrectly a couple of times, he got it right. A little shelf slid out. On it was an array of different colored buttons. He froze. No one had ever taught which was which. He tapped a relatively neutral looking neon orange. The loud speaker suddenly started announcing: "We are under attack by spiked monkeys! Repeat, we are under attack by spiked monkeys!" "Nope, not that one, I guess," the boy muttered, then tapped a button labeled "press me if you want everyone to be called." Mid-monkey warning, the speaker switched messages. "If you would all be so kind as to come to the main atrium, it would be most appreciated. Thank you," it said. Smiling at a job well done, the kid sat back down to finish his cookie.
  11. I have not been following this well enough. Congrats to you too!
  12. Eve bit her lip. "I might know a girl who probably can get in," she said. "But her sister will definitely not be happy with me."
  13. It’s been a year. An entire storming year. A year of wonderful people, too many puns, and laughter. A year of cookies, Voidapples, ellipsis, and Butt Venture. A year of writing, RPing, and MAYBE one too many Acutes. It’s been...a year of all that and more.

It's my Shardiversary and I officially feel old

YAY! Silva, you're awesome, and I'm glad to have known you for that year. :D

  14. Wasn't the real reason. The points were actually deducted due to the fact that your profile picture freaks me out if I think about it too long.
  15. ... I lost the game. @ElendVenture @Vargo Seldon @BitBitio (#green4may)
  16. It's a narwhal obviously! (I think...?) Two points off for that. 8/10, the Inquisitor really rocks that green outfit.
  17. The "Not actually" part come less often?
  18. I hate you. Not actually. Time to spread the love around. @Sherlock Holmes @I am a stick!!!!!!!!!!!!!! @BringerofShadows
