Sup says it in WoK I believe. Kaladin is musing about Oaths and Parshendi, to which Syl responds. Ill look it up tomorrow

Listeners. Can't be Radiants. I'll look up the pertinent quote if needed...

I agree. Though it may not be a "single" advance necessarily. We don't know the motives or agenda of these RedKandra

I'd like to point out that if the Skaze are the Set, they DO have a power base in the form of Sel.BS seems to have big plans for the Elantris sequel interacting with Scadrians in some way.

My issue with the theory is this; fire is a chemical reaction and not necessarily a fundamental force like Thermal energy. It makes sense to store to be able to wick away excess heat from the body, caused via the sun. I'm not so sure that the fire might not cause you harm, regardless of the fact that you're storing the heat released from the reaction. Then again, my grasp of physics is poor, feel free to poke holes.

Poking holes. In WoK, Kalak refering to Szeth says "that creature wields my own Lord's Blade!" The Blade refered to be Jezrien's. Considering Vasher's status as a GOD. KING. and his general attitude, which hasn't dissipated in Zahel, I really doubt Vasher would ever reference anyone as His Lord. That and their characters are so different. Kalak is differential to Nal/Darkness. Basher is fiercely independent.

7 planets? There are/were 16 shards.I think you guys are stretching a bit to make the assumption that Iri mythology is Cosmere aware at this point.

Knotai beat me to it. Moments of trauma create "cracks" in our Spirit Web, allowing "something" to Fill it. KR who live, bond spren. I think death counts as pretty sufficient trauma, psychologically at the least, to let Moelach enter momentarily; and as previously noted it's HIS ability to peer into the future. That being said, I'm pretty sure the death rattles can relate to past and present moments at the least. Everything future related is contingent on Moelach

These aren't necessarily good anchors, due to the surrounding concrete and asphalt. In a matter of reality, if you're Pushing along down the street, it seems reasonable you're likely to simply push off the best anchor. Which invariably brings us back to the fact that metal above the streets is going to be put under some stress, by some 15,000 daily coinshots. Guys, that's like 15,000 daily car wrecks to an insurance company. The simplest method to curb community services costs is to provide stable, heavy sources of metal I think. The most desirable would be the full blown modern traffic light, but that's a bit ahead of Elendel, so perhaps reinforce the street lamps?

What is the strength enhancement of Shardplate?
DocHoliday replied to Oudeis's topic in Stormlight Archive
You make fair points, I don't think that Adrenaline necessarily is magnified by Plate though. -

How many Nalans are we really seeing...? (WoR Spoilers)
DocHoliday replied to pharaoh9000's topic in Stormlight Archive
Setting all these points aside, there's no real time frame for these events involving Nalan/Darkness. It's entirely possible he relies on normal means of fravek cbulls\ horses.- 33 replies

Yes, but we're 99% sure that's Kelsier -
this actually explains how the lord ruler died (bands spoilers)
DocHoliday replied to king of nowhere's topic in Mistborn
The book repeatedly describes it as "a simple wooden spear". Vin uses it as a crutch. While this implies that it's just ac point stick, I have to concede that it doesn't specifically exclude the possibility that it had a metal tip. The spear itself came either from the palace guard or Kelsier's armory. Which means it certainly would have had a steel tip, if anybmetal tip at all. Which means at best it would steal Allomantic Physical Metals(?) I believe. -

....does Filling an Ironmind include the weight of whatever clothes, guns, even the metal mind itself? Because I seem to recall Sazed mentioning in WoA during his travels with Marsh, how the Iron around his ankles was now the heaviest thing on him. So even if said level of Storage is possible; Wax would have to be butt naked for it to work.

I don't think that's necessarily the case, the Connection simply isn't powerful enough in Kelsier's case. Perhaps due to personality, perhaps to genetic diffusion of Allowmancy over a millennia.Regardless, it appears obvious that to take up a Shard you need some kind of primer to increase Connection to a said Shard. In Vins case, I imagine that to be the Well of Ascension. I wonder if being Returned on Nalthis would be enough to take up Endowment?

Possible lack of coinage. It's possible the Village dosnt use them. A much more plausible reason though, is that nails are much more common in a barn/ work she'd.

Indeed. He just got caught starting a fire in the Village.

Which is typical BS vagueness. No one disputes that Hammond is physically stronger than Vin, and where they Feruchemists, Ham's bottom line for Filling (the most he could store at one time) would be higher than Vin's; at least as far as Weight and Strength go. Similarly, I'm sure there are Feruchemists who might be able to Fill more Spiritual Metals. All in all, it makes sense that certain attributes vary between individuals, and Wayne may simply be lacking in "Identity". To draw a DnD reference, his personality reflects his attributes, so perhaps he'd be lacking Charisma, but would be trained in Disguise/Bluff with skill focus feat. I can't believe I just said Wayne lacks Charisma

So I'm rereading Mistborn; in Ch. 8 where Kelsier and Vin encounter the mistwraith, and Kelsier explains that Mistwraiths arnt dangerous, and besides the Nobility have their uses for them. Nobility have uses for KANDRA. Kelsier's line implies that Nobility are aware of the Origins of the creatures. Thoughts?

Umm. Brandon took a que from Robert Jordan and made his own swear words.Every time you read Storms, storming, rusts ,bloody, blood and ashes, sparking, and sparks, (there are more) replace it with This post has been reported for attempting to skirt the rules. As far as I've gathered. It's a versatile word LoL. Point is, concept is more important that actual details of the words used. You've been reading vulgarity all along. No need for offense Edit: pardon for (possiblely) skirting rules, simply trying to illustrate that 4 letter words ARE used.

[BoM Spoilers] A broadsheet back from Shadows of Self...
DocHoliday replied to Platysaur's topic in Mistborn
You know I was also just reading the broadsheets from SOS, Ch.6 has a title about "visitors from another world" and a picture of someone wearing a tiki-looking mask. So-Scal anyone? -
I didn't mean strangulation. I was thinking something more like sealing him in a hermetically sealed space, and ejecting the O2 out. Or using that fancy chemical that bonds to oxygen and chemically combust like in CDC facilities. Point is to deprive him off any oxygen in a near instantaneous manor. The explosion won't harm him, but that's not the point. He might be able to heal from extended asphyxiation symptoms, but he's not immune to immediate damage. Ergo, I think it's possible to render him unconscious via the above method.
