Im sorry, I'm not familiar with WRT? Frequency is acc interesting option, especially in conjunction with something like surface tension. I imagine this like throwing balls of molten slag to be entirely possible. But I can also see things like turning the air around a person hard as stone, particularly if the molecules can be excited in such a way as to cause them to group together. The order names are not wily nily, so there has to be expressed use of their Surges to name them StoneWards

Theory: Mistings CAN use every single Allomantic ability.
DocHoliday replied to Cracknut's topic in Mistborn
Ffnord has the just of it correct folks. If I just clarify? All Scadrians have Investiture. All Allowmancers have a handwritten SWeb that allows them access to Investiture through specific foci. Allowmancers use foci (metal) to access specific forms of Investiture. Thus an Allowmancer on Roshar needs metals, not Stormlight, to burn. The bare exception being Shardic intervention. -
It's specifically stated that the Divine Breath is just a super breath taking them to the 5th Heightening, granting then all the normal powers another individual of said Heightening would have. This includes poison immunity, which alcohol is one. It also grants functional agelessness. A property that increasing Breath amounts increases proportionally until the 5th Heightening. That is aside from its Divine Property of healing ANYTHING.

I imagine that you are correct. (Assuming this is actual WoB, I'm waiting on the quote)I also believe that BS is ####ing with us again. EVERY Shard we have seen can see the future, t some degree. Since they are for all intents and purposes God, the future is therefore never set.

Nomhuminoohakimaluma. I know I spell wrong. Is description of very special rock father found day before my birth.

Hammer, meet nail. It's probably not a requisite, but summoning a Shardblade with your arms crossed is not really a good idea. It's also noted that it drops into your hand, and the natural pose that everyone does to catch is with an extended arm. Also to answer your question about the Parshendi 11 th KR, it was Jasnah relating to Shallon, about Gavilar telling her about a hunt.

That leaves us 2 prologue short though. Gavilar being alive would be a helluva bomb drop in book 5, especially since thats where the big man plans on leaving us for a few years, but we're missing the in between.

You know that's an interesting idea. Like how Shards can focus on individuals and what's going on with them. We've speculated that the accent out lack thereof was an attribute of the Spren bond, or that Damnation exists in the Cognitive realm, but I like this more. Upvote

Myself as well, but I'm curious who what has a viewpoint that would be relevant? Shallon is a child during these events and in Any Khevad no less. Kaladin, has similar issues. A youngster in an army. Dalinar passed out drunk doesn't seem relevant. Perhaps Sadeas and Amaran? I am confounded as to why so many people are convinced Renarin and Shallon will get together. Was there a WoB I missed out on? Or is Feather pushing their agenda and people have taken it for fact? If we keep Shallarin afloat to much, I'm going to laugh when BS pulls a George Martin on us.

....what has been seen, cannot be unseen. Vin explaining metals to Elend for the first time... Um...I guess? They're not exactly digested, so the important thing would be that it's inside the person... Would Miles be able to burn his Metal-Minds? The slivers not the bracers

Concerning the quote, I think she was deep in thought and reflecting on what is to come. I imagine this Harkaylain standing up and telling everyone : The Desolation is nigh! Our sacrifice to the people, our purpose as the Watchers is here.. Pretty sobering stuff. As for the last sentence. I disagree completely. I believe that was a Regrowth fabrial with a set number of 'charges', hence her hesitance to use it twice on one person. We've seen no other time where KR or Surgebinders need the use of gemstones as foci for their Surges. But a foci for another's Surge? Distinctly possible.

Eshonai with a Void-Spren. Marsh with Hemalurgy. 'Nuff said.

Words Of Radiance Back Cover Questions
DocHoliday replied to Colateralwar's topic in Stormlight Archive
What about the Aimian? I can't recall ---Aixias! sp? Rysn mentions that there is an Aimian strung up on Tellu-Ma. He may not be an important role, but he seems to be immortal, and certainly has to have traveled extensively. This assumes it was the same guy. -
Final void is a metaphor, which can make any connection that we wish. IMO, this was the point in which Kaladin overcame a major portion of his prejudice against Lighteyes to serve the greater good. The Final void in this sense is both physical (the chasm) and emotional (his hatred). I think we can state with certainty that Kaladin has no attachment to anyone in the Kholin camp at that time. However extending the bridge to Dalinar was akin to extending the hand of friendship. And if not, a common for definitely makes them allies.

History of Spren and shadesmar
DocHoliday replied to Mileswasbestcharacter's topic in Stormlight Archive
My pet Theory is the "Great Betrayal" was the creation of Parshmen. Our more specifically, the murdering of their spren. -
Discount? No. See my horse metaphor. But look at LightSong and BlushWeaver, + CalmSeer. These were goals that took years. I'd say that's probably the norm. I think WoB is that Endowment is female. The Nalthian are aware that the Returned have a purpose, that's why they have petitioners, to jog their memory. Best guess: Halandren would want the Idrian Returned, but they don't have the leverage to extradite them.
-
They die because Idrians don't feed them Breath. They're Returned with a purpose, but being that they have no memories when they Return, I think it's fair to say they go unfulfilled. Unless they're supposed to save a child from being trampled by a horse and that child turns out to be Talaxen...
-
Ya, link was RAFO. If there is concrete WoB I'd like to see it. It would definitely shut down a current thread in Mistborn, but oh well. The death of a thought I'd the birth of another.

My personal Theory, is that this is one of the forms of corruption of Vorinism. Basically I believe that Vorinism has connected the dots to draw the wrong picture: Radiant has Shardblade> Radiant has Light eyes> Therefore Shardbearer has Lighteyes. Thing is we don't see anyone's eyes getting lighter or brighter or glow when they pick up a Shardblade. We DO see this occur in Surgebinders everywhere. Anybody who had a Shardblade at the keep had to lie about obtaining it. The KR are blamed for 'betraying' mankind after all. Assuming that, any Darkeyes who married, would've married off well. Seeing how they've got an indestructible weapon that your family can't take after all.. This assumes that the Lighteyes were more affluent during the Recreance I assume that at least some of the current lighteyes are descended from people who picked up Shards at the Recreance and never had a Nahel Bond. Is that wrong? I'm certain that some ARE descended from those Darkeyes, but enough. Marriages into Lighteyes would eventually erase the Darkeyes attribute from the family.

i read your post with a heavy amount of sarcasm. My sincere apologies if I was incorrect. Dang internet, 2/3 of communication is tone and body language. "Sadeas carries some invested objects. His SDNA/DNA carries markers that his ancestors carried certain invested objects. I don't believe that he has any more investiture than any other human Rosharan would have five seconds after picking up a Shardblade (assuming that he is not secretly a voidbringer or a Surgebinder). I believe the eye color is genetic, but it doesn't make anyone more magical." I think this is the point we disagree upon, I think think that Shardblade is unimportant, but the Surge-binding is, as evidenced by Szeth change of aeye color as well as Kaladin's.

There is speculation right now that Atium actually is the method for World hoping among Scadrians. ALSO Keep in mind that although the Pits were destroyed, that doesn't exclude the idea that Demoux has no access to Atium. Straff mentions that he has Atium buried somewhere only he knows. There could be any number of caches that went undiscovered prior to Harmony.
-
That's kind of harsh Hoser. I don't see how we're disagreeing here, given that were rewording what the other is saying. Surge-binding is a result of the Nahel-bond, yes? (Szeth is an exception) Surge-binding is magic, yes? Acting in accordance with Honor is what attracts spren to form a Nahel-bond, granting magic. You can have all the Investiture in the world (Sadeas), and not have a Nahel-bond granting you access to Surge-binding.
-
Well there are 4 Vorin Kingdoms according to Shallon, but they only encompass about a third of the Roshar, there is plenty of room for literate men in the rest of the world.
-
I am not trying to imply that Rosharans Darkeyes have no Investiture, or that they are immoral as a group. Sadeas is proof of that. It just seems interesting to me that a KR (specifically ANY person) has super pale eyes, and that Modern Rosharans have a diminished form of the same attribute. Similar to the power levels exhibited by Elend v. Vin. Lerasium rewrites the SWeb with more Investiture than was originally there. On Scadrial Investiture is passed on genetically. I see no reason why Roshar should be different in this manner. That is not to say that additional Investiture cannot be gained by Rosharans, specifically the Nahel-bond. However additional Investiture, does not necessarily mean additional magic. Sylphrena is very specific when she says that SHE is responsible for the changes Kaladin is exhibiting. Which is the 3 Lashings and general "Awesomeness". I quote Adolin because I believe the Vorinism has taken the idea of Investiture (essentially Godliness) and warped it into something different. Callings and Glories. EDIT: Or another way of putting it, Vorinism has warped the teachings of Nohadon (whom I believe responsible for restricting the Nahel-bond to Honor Spren) reflect how acting with Honor brings one closer to the Almighty (more Investiture ).
