  1. Martin thread was the one with the link to Chapter 11, 12, +14 I believe. The one released this recent Monday.
  2. Oh he'll spoil the beans when they start asking why their usually controlled Pariah is suddenly wanting to kill the ally of the guy who freed them. He's already planning on taking them he can Surgebinder as is.
  3. Aether your spoiler tag is backwards. Might wanna fix that. Edit: NM Feather took care of us.
  4. Matter of opinion friend. I bought Ebook for both. We miss out on the art work. Which is really beautiful stuff, but we have all these wonderful 17th Sharders who generously share it with us. And I genuinely appreciate that they do. The advantage of ebook is the amazing search feature we can employ when digging for exact information. A wonderful tool which I feel of is our contribution to these forums. Not to say hard copies can't, but there's no denying the ease and simplicity it offers.
  5. Ya, that was a favorite line. This isn't a time for a show. It was time for a beat down. Just freaking epic.
  6. Also a possibility, but he wasn't able to watch Kaladin being branded. He looked away. This suggests a weak stomach for the despicable. I think he made a made a (very) bad decision for selfish reasons, but to to that point was a decent human being.
  7. Beat me to it. i mentioned it in the main thread, but oh well. Props brother. We're not certain on that count. Elohkar did have several cracked gems after the hunt. I think however that is besides the point. If Elohkar has the Honorblade then Szeth can't. Since we're 90% sure now that this how Szeth had been Surge-binding without a Nahel-bond, it seems highly unlikely Elohkar has Jezrien's Blade.
  8. Does it matter? Amaran's reputation was likely (mostly) deserved. So what he did to Kaladin and his squad is likely the most devious act in his life. Something like that is etched into his mind, I imagine. Branding the face of the man who saved you when none else would even step up. And calling it mercy... Ya, brands or no brands, Amaran is going to know who is looking at him with murder in his eyes.
  9. LoL that was the point I was making. I weigh about 140 lbs(220kg I think). I know all about wrestling with people heavier than I.
  10. You know I've been wondering about Shardblades. Are they destructive in the manner of lightsabers, or actual swords? Are they also harmful to the individual wielding them if they're not careful? Cause Id die laughing of Kaladin picks a fight with Amaran out of Plate, Amaran attacks with his Shardblade. Kaladin catches it between 2 hands and Lashes the Blade back at him. Death for your theft!! Mwahaha
  11. Pardon, I hadn't read that WoB; but that is irrelevant. I read that sentence as accessing another Feruchemists stored attributes. My misunderstanding. I don't, it's from memory and my Warbreaker is in storage... I want to say it was Vasher explaining something to Vivenna, but I could be mistaken.
  12. They move through the Storm??? Evidence please. Also, why did you bring up my quote on By The 3 Gods? Edit: wanted to add that I read Kaladin being strung up, the face is not benevolent. Merely large, inhuman, and smiling.
  13. I disagree with this idea about Intent being external. Mistborn spoilers Note Darnam that I agree with you still that Intent is not the all-time beat-all, but it plays a major influence as I described.
  14. Kaladin was huffing and puffing after he finally Lashed Rock. I'd say that is just a little bit of exertion I'm glad you caught that to. I just mentioned in another thread about the first bout in over a year for Shards. Either the Alethi don't count challengers who don't bring Shards to the table, or something smells like fish. While I think on it more, why didn't the Neuotoma rent a set of Plate from the King? All his possessions minus his family could have payed for it surely. Scratch all that. Sadeas wouldn't duel without a payout.
  15. Well this was a blow to my Challenge Renarin speculation. (He's safe for now Feather ) First bout for Shards in over a year matched up with my thought process. Although I don't think it's accurate, Sadeas and Rock's Neuatoma didn't count? But the telling bit was Adolin feeling insulted. He had to bribe the guy 2 Shards to 1 to get him to fight. Visa vi Soldoron (sp? IDC) did not have to accept the duel. So the only way Renarin is getting in the ring s any time soon is if he gets cocky, and the frankly isn't any part of his emotional scale. Edit: also did anyone notice the wording, Soldoron borrowed a set of the Kings Plate for the duel. Not the Kings set but one of multiple sets. Elohkar has multiple sets laying around? Wow. That seems like such a waste when you consider how much Shardbearers impact a battle.
  16. I noticed this as well, but it was Taln's Blade I picked up on. Described as a simple long silver spike. I think the idea is supposed to be beauty in simplicity rather than ornamentation. But our source was Kalak, so IDK. This doesn't add up to me. Szeth specifically states that the Stone Shamans will come for his Blade when he dies. (How do they know when that happens anyway?) So he had the Blade prior to leaving Shinovar. Other wise they wouldn't know to come get it. Szeth was traded to Tovbek who traded him to some one else, who traded him to we don't know how many middle parties. At some point, Szeth belonged to Jasnah' s assassin. Who traded him shortly before the Treaty signing. The Weeper was likely in the Kholinar area when that happened. So Szeth may have entered Parshendi service just before the Treaty, but I doubt Darkness ever owned him or had any part of the assassination. If he had an issue with Szeth carrying the Blade, he could have not have ordered him to give it up. He could have killed him for it though, regicide is usually a capital punishment This however still makes me wonder HOW he/they knew he had the Honorblade. There has to be done kind of Stormlight radar. Edit: woops! ^ this ^ was supposed to be included in my response to DuskShard
  17. I think you got that backwards. When Vin burns Saze' s Pewter, he remarks that: the power is there but distant and inaccessible? That is how another Keeper's Metal-Minds feel to us. (Paraphrase) so, no o would say they cannot access other Feruchemist MM. In that same line of thought... If I recall you can't store breath in an object that has been Awakened. Since sitting Breath is basically the same as giving a failed Command, I don't believe you can store more Breath prior to removing the existing Breath first.
  18. I discovered this thread at 12:30 EST I swear Tor, ENOUGH FOREPLAY GIVE ME THE BOOK!
  19. Hey fellas, I'm late to this thread, but I've got a few ideas I'd like to bounce off ya. Better late than never, kolo? I agree with some of your points, but a majority I think need some tweaking. Firstly, I'm relatively certain that Stormlight is a direct access to Spiritual energy, and is not the foci like metal is on Scadrial. I'm not 100% on board with Isomere Waveform conspiracy, but this is due to lack of evidence; we are on book 1 still so BS can only drop hints. I think Isomere's theory is promising. I've always felt that the Highstorms have always been around, however I don't believe they were anywhere near as destructive in ancient times as they are now. My gut feeling, no evidence I'm afraid, is that Honor Shattering plays a decisive role. Tanavast death left large amounts of loose Investiture supercharging the storms into what they are. I'm not so sure that there are 2 separate waves to the Storms. Kaladin most certainly experiences a lull of some sort, but Dalinar's visions suggests that the Spiritual wall is in tandem with the physical stormwall. His visions always begin when the stormwall hits, not shortly after. So this throws a wrench in the works. I'm 100% certain that the storm face is not Odium. For one he's on Brayse. For 2 the face says. "Odium reigns." Weird to refer to oneself in the third person. We haven't seen any other Shard refer to themselves as such. Point 3: It smiles. Benevolently if memory serves. I don't see anyone hate filled offering a smile for any reason, Mistborn Hero of Ages spoilers Has it been considered that the calendar from the Heraldic Epochs was different from modern Roshar's? This would go a long way to explaining the time discrepancies as Dalinar sees them. WoR Spoilers
  20. As far as establishing a timeline is concerned, isn't there supposed to be a time skip between SA's first arc and second arc? I don't believe we have confirmation as to the length of that skip yet.
  21. A point that I evidently never made earlier: An individual can have all the Investiture in the world and not be able to access magic. Vin has a very powerful inherent ability to use Allowmancy, but without metal she's just another Joe. Same goes for Lighteyes, without a Nahel-bond, no Surge-binding.
  22. I'm not so sure, the Interlude says that some days he wakes feeling like a complete imbecile. That says something when you wake up and you can immediately tell your thoughts have been slowed so dramatically. But even if that's the case, it really doesn't take much to pull a Stone out and say "Don't kill me!" I have no idea who originally posted the previous sentence. I stole it from another thread. Soak up and I'll give credit where due.
  23. Highprince of Education really f doesn't make sense, considering the Alethi gender roles. I mean you're going to place an illiterate male in charge charge of the education of literate females? Another possibility might be Highprince of Storms like the Storm Wardens.
  24. "I promise by the Storms and the Almighty's 10th name itself. I will bring him back." Kaladin p. 625 The Almighty has 10 names evidently. Elithanathile is the name used by the Ardents, the group that possess Soul-Casters, representing the Transformation Surge. I'd like to propose that there is a name for the Almighty for each Surge. The thing I'm uncertain about is how this might apply to the KR accessing 2 Surges.
