Lanrielis' eyes grew wide at seeing the giant sandwich. This place is amazing! "What sort of work is there around here? I could use some funding again. The trip here was not cheap. I'm pretty sure the guy ripped me off a bit, but oh well." She shrugged broad shoulders. "At least I'm here."

She grinneed at the loud enthusiasm. "Nice to meet you Cookie." She desperately wanted to ask why he was blue, but held her tongue. Maybe he fell in a vat of dye.

Lanrielis turned to the person who sat near her. "Yup. Fresh from Hallandren, actually. Name's Lanrielis. Lanrie, if that's easier."

A crooked grin spread across Lanrielis' face as she spotted a sign for a restaurant. She stepped inside hoping not only for some Hallandren-style food, but maybe for someone who could show her around. This place was new and strange. But ever so exciting. After finding an empty spot at the bar, she waved over the Barman. "You have any squid here? Octopus even. You know, the things with the squiggly legs? And maybe a glass of something sweet."
  5. Hello everyone! I'm new to the Alleyverse, but I'm not quite sure where would be best to step in... or really even how to do so. I'm excited to join, though!
  6. Thank you Fifth for running the game and allowing me to be your (over-eager) co-GM! Also, thanks to everyone who participated. It was a great game! A big congratulations to the Darkfriends. CadCom and Aman, in particular, for doing so well at not only staying hidden but becoming fairly trusted among the village. I was increasingly amazed at how CadCom's vote on BR made such a difference in how he was viewed for the remainder of the game. Thanks to our pinch-hitters, who helped keep the activity up a bit. Personally, I don't think inactivity was a major problem, though a lack of defense actions contributed to the Blight's quick advance. Again, thanks to the elims for taking activity into consideration while choosing your targets. This was my first time co-GMing, so it was fun to view the game from a different aspect than before. I think it will actually help me in future games. (edit: Amazing ending write-up, by the way.)
  7. Alright, I've made some adjustments. Let me know if that's still too much.
  8. Sounds good! Like I said, it's been years since forum RPing, so I'm practically brand new at this kind of thing. I'm not sure what's standard. Also I'm fine with getting ideas for new/different weaknesses.
  9. I chose it since that's when it becomes instinctive, but I can definitely drop it down. Also, it's unlikely she'll stay there, considering her weakness.
  10. Alright, here's my attempt at joining the Alleyverse. I haven't done an organized RP like this in years, so I'm a little rusty. This is my idea for a character. I'd love any input.
  11. Only Mark would have lost a life. Channeling, unfortunately, would only work on Forsaken (Aginor and Balthalmel).
  12. I'm interested in joining, but do I have to wait for the next era?
  13. CadCom was your fellow Fielder. It's why I smiled/cringed every time I saw you write that CadCom was village. Fifth did consider bringing the Padan Fain role into play (it was never really on the table) just for the irony of giving it to Aman once he rolled to be an elim.
  14. He did pick Aman. Also, why did you try to get Mr Doctor to claim Green Man? Were you hoping he was an elim that would falsely claim?
  15. Because of Aman's and CadCom's extra lives, there are 5 lives left. It is statistically impossible for village to last long enough to take care of all of them before the Blight kills the Eye, even if all villagers (even Rand al'Thor and the Green Man) submit defense actions every turn. Aman was not Padan Fain. And Mark was the next elim target.
  16. The elims won the game, though it's technically because of the Blight. There are not enough villagers to hold the Blight off from destroying the Eye of the World long enough to lynch/kill all of the elims.
  17. It all depends on the relevance to the story. In the meme forum, someone brought up the Parks and Rec wedding. While I don't watch the show, I feel there's some difference between on-screen weddings and book weddings, especially when world-building an explanation has to be included. It's fairly easy to breeze over the details of a ceremony in movies/TV/books when it's a ceremony that most people already understand. That allows you to focus more on the emotion and funny bits without it becoming unnecessarily long. I feel that going through the what and why of a fantasy culture's wedding ceremony (especially if it's long and intricate) can be a bit much when you're also trying to include the emotion. It could get long or boring pretty quickly. In this instance, it sounds like having the ceremonies represented and explained is a little more important to the plot. It's the same with the Dalinar/Navani wedding. Since it broke with tradition and then became part of the problems Dalinar faced, it had a reason to be there. However, I don't think (aside from appeasing the romantic side of the readers) there was much of a purpose in including the Shallan/Adolin wedding. Learning the cultural aspect of true Vorin ceremonies would be interesting for the worldbuilding aspect, but what other purpose is there? However, this is also my own opinion. I tend to shy away from romance in general in my own writing since I don't think it's usually that interesting.
  18. Wedding ceremonies where nothing goes wrong are incredibly boring to read. Thus, it's better to trunkate it or just skip it entirely. And especially in a book as long as OB, spending too long walking through a full ceremony would add a lot of unnecessary words.
  19. Fifth mentioned it in the write-up. He had a conflict on Wednesday night, and with the delayed posting of this turn, he extended it. As a reminder, the rollover time has changed (this will be a permanent change, unless other extenuating circumstances arise). There are about 9 hours left in this turn.
  20. Not at the moment, but there should be some in a few weeks. Two games just started, and that's the most we have running at one time. Also, welcome to SE! We hope you join us for a game soon.
  21. Hey, I'm just checking. You're Gancho Libre, correct? What will your name be when Ookla Season finishes?
  22. There's definitely room! We want at least 20, but we won't say no if more than that sign up.
