Quick Fix Game 34: A Great Calamity
Elandera replied to BrightnessRadiant's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Good game everyone, and congratulations to the Rightful Rulers for escaping unscathed. This was a fun game! Thank you BR for GMing, and Lopen for co-GMing. There were a lot of fun mechanics. I said it at the end of the dead/spec doc, but I'll say it again. Seriously @Mr Doctor? Again?! You need to stop being so good at being an elim. I had absolutely no suspicion of you once again. Honestly, the only one I had real suspicions of was Devotary.- 177 replies

Quick Fix Game 34: A Great Calamity
Elandera replied to BrightnessRadiant's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Raven walked around the edges of the ballroom. She had hoped to enter a less popular room, but it seems others had the same idea. It was getting a bit crowded. Luckily, there was a high ceiling. If she became too crowded, she could just fly to get away. People were overrated, really. As she walked, Raven kept an eye out for anyone suspicious. Most people seemed just as confused as she. It had been quiet for a while, which made Raven more unnerved. Thinking back to her own past, whenever she didn't kill someone immediately, it was because she had something even worse planned. What were these 'righteous rulers' planning? Would they leave her alone? Or would they target her for forsaking her evil ways? ----- It's time for me to cast a vote. As I said before, it's possible the elims weren't on/active near the end of the cycle since they missed submitting a kill. For no, I'll tentatively clear Mr. Doctor, Kidpen, Sart, and myself. I'm also going to include Devotary, though their last-minute vote post makes me a bit suspicious. From past games, that tends to be a habit of theirs when they're elim. However, I don't think I've played many games with Devotary when they aren't elim, so that could be their normal style. I'm going to place my vote on Shqueeves. @Shqueeves was here C1, said they became busy, and never showed up last cycle.- 177 replies

Interesting. There was no elim kill. Likely, that means the elims forgot rollover/weren't on near the end. There are a couple people I don't think I've seen post yet, so I'm going to tag them. Sorry if I've just missed your posts. @DeathClutch19, @STINK, @xinoehp512.- 177 replies

Quick Fix Game 34: A Great Calamity
Elandera replied to BrightnessRadiant's topic in Sanderson Elimination
If we can somehow clear her, confirming she is village, we have one person we know for sure is village, will stay village, and can't be killed by the eliminators. That allows other villagers with mobiles to use her as a point of contact for possible coordination. This would be useful for people with other epic powers or items that are better used as a group, like the smoke grenade. I'm not saying she is for certain village, but I'm also not keen on the idea of lynching anyone just because they have an epic power.- 177 replies

Quick Fix Game 34: A Great Calamity

We're about an hour out from rollover. Here is how the vote count stands: Kidpen (0) - Itiah CadCom (1) - Gancho Libre Elandera (1) - CadCom Itiah (1) - Snipexe Megasif (1) - Sart Crimsn (1) - Itiah @BrightnessRadiant, is there a minimum vote count for lynch? As we stand currently, it opens things up a lot for vote manipulation. It would not be good to leave it in the hands of potential eliminators. I'm not eager about any of these, but I think I'll go with Itiah. They seem eager to get Crimsn based solely on her ability. If she's village, she'd be a very good asset to keep. Throwing that opportunity away with little else in the way of evidence seems too hasty to me.- 177 replies

Quick Fix Game 34: A Great Calamity

Bard was never a player. I'm guessing his 'death' had to do with something that happened in the spec doc. The question over elim!steel-abilities really goes down to balance. It's quite possible there is one, but if there is, what other ones might they have and still be balanced? My bets are still on phasing and illusion, like I suggested last cycle. Both of those allow elims to make their kills while remaining difficult to track. One thing we could do is look at who was in the room with Crimsn. I could be wrong, but my cursory glance makes me feel there wasn't a lot of shuffling. Though, it's possible a phaser moved into the room, attacked Crimsn, then moved back to their same room. EDIT: Upon reevaluation, the only apparent move was Devotary into the kitchen.- 177 replies

Quick Fix Game 34: A Great Calamity
Elandera replied to BrightnessRadiant's topic in Sanderson Elimination
I thought I had that in my post, but must have deleted it. I agree that Steel could be an overpowering elim power, though it would still be very useful. If we have a 3-person elim team, one with phasing, one with steel, and one with illusion, it would make them very difficult to find and kill. In other words, a bit overwhelming. Considering they are 'rightful rulers' who think epics should be in power, I'm willing to guess all of them have an epic power. It's possible they have some combination of two of the three already mentioned. You're still soft-cleared for me, because as we both pointed out, elims attacking one of their own just doesn't seem like a good move.- 177 replies

Well, this isn't cosmere either, so is that more reason to not trust you? I'll be watching you... As for @Gancho Libre's vote on Kidpen, I'd still like a bit more explanation. I haven't had enough interactions with him to really know his style, meaning I can't count it as NAI. At this point, I'm left thinking it might be some joke between the two, or it's an attempt at distancing. I'll hold off on a vote for right now, but it may end up on one of the two later, depending on what else happens this cycle. I'm not sure what to think of the attack on Crimsn. For now, I'll consider her soft-cleared. Since it's a QF game, using a turn so early to attack your own teammate just to "clear" them seems a bit much. That kind of tactic might be better if Crimsn had been under suspicion already, but there hadn't been any such discussion and she'd only made one post. However, I understand steel epic abilities would be very useful for elims, which is why it's only a soft-clear. ---- Raven walked to the bar at the side of the Dining room. "Sparks, I need a drink. A strong one." The bartender nodded and filled a small glass with some dark liquid. She lifted the glass and downed it one gulp. It was better that way. Raven had never bothered to learn the different kinds of drinks. She hadn't really cared before. It was only after Calamity disappeared that she'd decided alcohol was beneficial. It helped her deal with people, helped her relax. She would need to deal with people tonight, if she wanted to make it out of the hotel alive. This "rightful rulers" nonsense might turn bad for any of the epics in the room. Though the darkness was gone and epics could be good, people hadn't exactly forgotten. Or forgiven. "I'm such a slontze!" Raven muttered to herself, gesturing for another drink. "I should never have come here. I should have just stayed in Nashville."- 177 replies

You're not wrong. I'll never fully trust you. I'm not sure I'm for any of the lynches at the moment. Coop's vote seems more like a joke poke-vote, which I try to avoid basing my votes on. Unfortunately, I need to sleep before the cycle finishes, so I don't think I'll vote this turn. I just haven't had time to think about it much.- 177 replies

Out of curiosity, is there a particular reason for the vote on Kidpen? I know most D1 votes don't have much in the way of a logical basis, but this one doesn't seem to fall under a poke vote either since Kidpen had just posted.- 177 replies

Quick Fix Game 34: A Great Calamity
Elandera replied to BrightnessRadiant's topic in Sanderson Elimination
This was not what Raven had expected of her first visit to Babylon Restored. It was supposed to be a new life, somewhere she wouldn't be recognized as the indiscriminate killer with a bad temper. It wasn't like she'd killed that many people before. She was only a minor epic, after all, without powers that killed people or even helped her be invincible. However, people had still annoyed her, and it was easier to get rid of them than try to get them to comply. Raven still didn't like people, but she no longer felt an overwhelming desire to snap their necks. Usually. Being stuck in a hotel was unfortunately wearing on her resolve to remain good. ----- That's assuming the Righteous Rulers have phasing abilities, which is a bit of a balance debate. It would be an incredibly useful ability to have as an elim team, but it might tip the scales in their direction quite a bit. On the other side, I realize being able to narrow down the suspects to a single room of people would be incredibly unfair to the elims. Hmm, thinking through it as I typed it out makes me think they probably have one person with phasing and possibly mind control or illusion.- 177 replies

Mid-Range Game 31: Spiritual Warfare
Elandera replied to Jo and the Bush's topic in Sanderson Elimination
It's okay! We both ended up winning in the end You were still right that Itiah (Spirit!Dashe) would have been much more dangerous. Having Karata converted was a pretty quick way to almost waste an elim conversion. It was just rather unfortunate BR was Aanden. -

Thanks Jaddeth and Domi for running the game! @Domi in the Dark, what would have happened if the invasion started? Good job to Devotary, who flew well under the radar for pretty much all of the game! Also, I find it ironic that you, as Galladon/Independent, PM'd me to say it would be suicide for spirits to pretend to be independents if they PM'd. Unfortunately, that made me trust you. Thanks for converting me though! I needed another chance at being an elim (though my record is still 100% death on first day as elim). Crimsn, congrats at surviving so long! I think the only reason I figured out you were Shaor is because it had been revealed in the dead doc. -

Mid-Range Game 31: Spiritual Warfare
Elandera replied to Jo and the Bush's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Rena tried her best to ignore the hunger, which felt like it was eating away at her insides. There was something more important to be doing. Yes, more important than even food. The children. Rena was not her only name. Most knew her as Karata, the one who cared for the children. All she did was to help the children. Hunger gnawed at her constantly, but she knew it was worse for her children. She knew not all of them would understand why everything always hurt. She wanted to help them. Despite what everyone thought, despite their urging, Karata felt Lord Spirit might have a way out. A way to be free of their pains for once. She thought he might be able to help the children. So she followed him. Though he died, he’d shown her a new way of life that she intended to follow, even if it meant her own life would end soon. Everything she did was for them She did it for the children. Fifth, I blame you! I was going to attempt to talk my way out of this, but not being placed in a doc made that a whole lot more problematic. So, I admit it. I am Karata. -

My vote is going to be on Fifth. I was under the impression with the docs that he was Karata or Dashe. By Itiah's admission, it seems that is narrowed down to Karata. After his reveals yesterday, he would have been a good conversion target, since he apparently gained the trust of several different people with important roles. -

It seems most of the suspicion on me has to do with my voting patterns. I'm going to attempt to explain again why I've done what I've done. My vote on Steeldancer on D1 was simply to get a lynch discussion started. I do believe a lynch, even on a villager, on D1 can be helpful. I'm not saying it's ideal, but it can be helpful. Prior to my vote, there had only been one other vote the whole turn, that being Coop's vote on Joe. I chose Steel because he tends to be insightful and I didn't recall him posting anything major so far. I never felt the need to remove my vote because there was no real threat against him. At the time I logged off and went to sleep, there were several votes on Joe, making vote manipulation unlikely. I didn't think it would be as much of a problem as it apparently has been, since it's not the first time someone has left a poke-vote in place. As for my abstaining from last cycle, there was no need to start a lynch discussion as I had C1 since one was already going. My brain is not fully functional right now and hasn't been for a few days. I thought it best for me to stay out of it rather than mess things up with reasoning affected by cold medicine. -

Mid-Range Game 31: Spiritual Warfare
Elandera replied to Jo and the Bush's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Does anyone have a current vote count? I'd try to make one, but I'd inevitably be wrong. As of now, I'll probably abstain from voting. I don't have any strong hunches one way or the other (or at all really). ------------- Rena was starving. Hunger wasn't an unfamiliar sensation, even before she'd been unceremoniously thrown into Elantris, but starvation of this level was an entirely different beast. Instead of pangs she could ignore, it was a constant companion. Like a five-year-old that had just figured out how to ask philosophical questions, but every word was accompanied by a punch to the gut. She thought about the newcomers. She thought about their baskets. The baskets. Maybe she could risk it, just once, to get what was in one of those baskets. -
Mid-Range Game 31: Spiritual Warfare
Elandera replied to Jo and the Bush's topic in Sanderson Elimination
I didn't really feel the need to remove my vote. While I didn't exactly want a Steel lynch, there wasn't much of a threat of that happening while I was still awake. No one seemed keen on a lynch at all, unless you counted the votes on Joe. I went to sleep early (because I'm fighting a bad cold), and there were only really votes on Joe, plus mine and Mailliw's votes. After that is when most of the other votes started rolling in. There was also a bit of curiosity as a reason behind leaving the vote. Often letting eliminators use vote manipulation can reveal a bit about their plan and who is on their side. Since they didn't use it, and easily could have, I suspect they didn't particularly care to have a lynch during C1. As for why I didn't vote on people I found suspicious, I stated my reason for not voting on Mailliw already. That reasoning still stands. I also feel pushing for that kind of exchange might be too obvious for an eliminator, looking back on it. I didn't vote for those urging to not trade faction information because I would be among that list, and it does seem perfectly logical for the other gangs to not want that information out there so blatantly. My comment was more just personal musing rather than actual suspicion. -
