  1. Let’s make a list of all the Shards and what their god metals would be called! Ruin/Ati: Ruinium/Atium Preservation/Leras: Preservationium/Lerasium Harmony/Sazed: Harmonium/Sazedium Cultivation/???: Cultivationium/???ium Honor/Tanavast: Honorium/Tanavastium Odium/Raysium: Odiumium/Raysium Ambition/Uli Da: Ambitionium/Uli Daium Autonomy/Bavadin: Autonomium/Bavadinium Dominion/Skai: Dominionium/Skaium Devotion/Aona: Devotionium/Aonaium
  2. Thanks so much! Storms, please no. That would be terrible.
  3. Throughout the Stormlight Archive, we see that Honorblades give a person Radiant powers— the ability to surgebind. Also, we know that one of the metals, nicrosil, stores investiture. Are Honorblades made of nicrosil, and is that how they give abilities to people? It would explain how people gained powers, and why they no longer have them after losing possession of the Honorblade. I don’t know if Sanderson has already answered this in a WoB, or if this is already a forum. If someone could please let me know, that would be great. If not, then... let the theories begin, I guess.
  4. Granted, but all of the people that gain feruchemical and allomantic powers have evil intentions. You and everyone of some importance to you die as a result of that. Your hemalurgic beaver becomes my hermalurgic beaver. I wish for a stick that will never become fire. When people try to burn it, it doesn't work, and they are left confused while I cackle evilly.
  5. Sweet, I've always wanted to be the guy who owned the lemonade stand. Thanks, @Kidpen! You get to be the duck who walks up to the lemonade stand. Unfortunately, that means that you have to put up with me. I wish to have possession of my friend's soul.
  6. He's more powerful with the Stick, just because Stick is Stick.
  7. Granted, you eat as many tacos as you like. But tomorrow, tacos and all knowledge of how to make them will disappear. I wish for a duck that walks up to a lemonade stand. Then asks for grapes. Then waddles away (waddle waddle) until the very next day (bum bum bum bum ba-da bum).
  8. MeLaan? I get the punchy-punchy-stabby-stabby reference from BoM...
  9. NO NOT THE MOOSE! Your moose is alive again, and it lives for the average life span of a moose. However, you don’t want it to die at that time. You make it so that your moose has an extended lifespan, and you believe that this is all good. However, the years are actually being transferred from the person you care for the most at a given point. This damage is irreversible. When the love of your life dies from transferring years to your moose, you are very, very sad. You leave the moose in the wilderness, and let no one come close to your heart ever again. The years of your own life begin to transfer to the moose, and you die. The moose lives, though. I wish to be able to get souvenirs from the Cosmere (Examples: OMG look, it’s Veil’s trench coat! I’ve always wanted to see this— it’s Shai’s first stamp for soulstamping! And a feather from an Aviar! Wow!)
  10. Sanderson has an official Elantris pronunciation guide on his website... that’s how I learned it. Check it out! It’s cool.
  11. Yes!!!! Once, I looked up “gold ability to burn,” and the first thing that popped up was Mistborn. I had no Sanderfriends with me at the time, and my “normal” friends watched me freak out on my own... (Doesn’t look at the page either) Yes, I believe that was correct. Stick was seen on Sel as the stick that Raoden used to draw an Aon on the ground, right? WE LOVE YOU, STICK. YOU DO YOU. YOU BE A STICK LIKE THE STICK YOU ARE.
  12. Sorry for the double post, but there was weird formatting... THIS. IS. GOLD.
  13. Thanks, I fixed it. And I pronounce is JAZ-nah, and no matter how many times I tried to correct it, it just goes back. Same thing with Sarene: I will always say Suh-REEN and not Suh-REE-nee (or Sun-RAY-nay, Sanderson said either one of those was correct).
  14. Steelheart: Firefight: Calamity: Final Empire: Well of Ascension: Hero of the Ages: Warbreaker: Elantris: Sixth of the Dusk: The Emperor’s Soul: White Sand: Shadows for Silence in the Forests of Hell: STORMLIGHT ARCHIVE Kaladin’s Plot Arc: Shallan’s Plot Arc: Renarin’s Plot Arc: Jasnah’s Plot Arc: Lift’s Plot Arc: Sadeas’s Plot Arc: Stick’s Plot Arc:
  15. Hey, I’ll take it. I’ve always wanted a unicorn as a pet! I mean, like, who wouldn’t?
  16. Does anyone remember the Ones Above in their spaceships from Sixth of the Dusk? Sanderson confirmed (I don’t know where) that Sixth of the Dusk is, so far, the Cosmere story/book/novel that takes place the latest on the timeline. I think the Ones Above are actually Era 4 Scadrians. Thoughts?
  17. I actually really want to try chouta... if anyone has a recipe, they should totally share it on the Shard. Hint hint!
  18. Thanks for the clarification about Lerasium. Also, I agree about the balance of different Shardic powers. I feel like balance and equality is a big theme for Hoid— the white balance on Yolen, the balance of Shards, etc. Maybe Hoid is seeking revenge because the death of the loved one set something off-balance in his life...
  19. I absolutely love that idea. However, I feel like there is a greater chance that he will indeed look back. I have a feeling that Hoid is going to have a very tragic ending... By the way, sorry for the double post, but the formatting was being weird and I didn’t know how to fix it.
  20. I feel like it’s good to have this insight on Hoid. We have never seen him lose his head or his temper. We have never seen this display of emotion from him. It really gives him some depth as a character, and helps us to see: this guy is human, or once was. Even if he is this mega-god being, he isn’t above having feelings. Now, we have a better understanding of his motives, and what they are driven by. He is mourning an old, but still important, loss— possibly of a love interest, family member, or friend— and is seeking revenge. So what does he want with a lerasium bead? What does he want with the Moon Scepter? OB Spoiler... It seems that he is taking something that represents every Shard. I would not be surprised if he also kept hold of an atium bead, some white sand, and maybe something from Threnody (that is, if he has gone there yet). So what do we know about Hoid’s motives now? They are driven by emotion. He requires a certain group of objects in order for his plan to work Whatever plan he has to get what he wants is very, very dangerous— for himself, for Frost, and possibly the entire Cosmere.
  21. I would totally upvote that for you, but I ran out of upvotes for the day... By the way, you should totally do that. Are you going to serve both men’s and women’s food? What’s going to happen to the people that take the wrong one?
  22. That quote is Reason #174859382 why I love Sanderson.
  23. With everything we just learned about he pomegranate, I’m going to rewrite the summary I wrote in the super long, piece-by-piece post... To summarize: Hoid returns to Yolen after the events of Mistborn Era 1, eating a pomegranate. There, he is met by Frost, a dragon, and the only person in the Cosmere older than Hoid. Frost reprimands Hoid for intervening in the events leading up to the deaths of Ati and Leras, the vessels for Ruin and Preservation. This leads into a conversation about Hoid's intentions: he has lost something or someone, most likely a dead loved one, and is seeking revenge for the person who killed them. As Hoid speaks bitterly about something living and mournfully for that which is dead tosses the pomegranate he was eating on the ground, possibly signifying the fact that he will never change his beliefs until he gets what he wants. When Frost tells him that it would be wise to let it go, Hoid reminds him about what a "simple vendetta" could lead to, by referencing how Ati nearly destroyed the world. Hoid leaves us on an ominous note, saying that there are more powerful beings with stronger desires for revenge, who are more dangerous that he could ever be. I think this pretty much sums up what we can get from this story. Maybe, as we learn more, we can add to the summary and make an “official” blurb about how much we know. I have a feeling that this story is going to become EXTREMELY important. So with that, feel free to quote it, then copy it and change it. Or, write a new one altogether— there are probably a lot of different ways that the concepts from the story could be interpreted, but what’s in the summary is only my opinion (my thought process is in the super long piece-by-piece post).
  24. You know your a Sanderfan when... You meet friends by introducing them to the Sanderverse. You spend most of your time on the 17th Shard, desperate for more reputation points. Your autocorrect changes all of the Cosmere related words, so you scream “RAG DOMI” in frustration. Then, of course, you cover your mouth in shame. Such foul language! You wonder what this universe would be like if everything existed in Realmatic Theory. My spirit web would be incredibly cracked... You wish you had a wingwoman as good as Sylphrena. You call people Sanderson related nicknames. Don’t like them? They’re “airsick lowlander.” Like them, and they’re your friend... or maybe more? They’re “potato in a minefield,” because that’s how much you care about them. Every time you see a bird, you call it a chicken. People literally have to tel you to stop being obsessed with the Cosmere. You read a book, and think about how much better it would be if Sanderson wrote it. You play Geometry Dash and wonder if everything is just a cryptic, because ooooh pretty patterns! If not, they’re obviously Aons. You wonder where other books from different authors tie into the Cosmere. Instead of justifying investiture with science, you justify science with investiture. You realize that one of your friends could do the BEST Shallan cosplay, so you force her to read the Cosmere books because SHE NEEDS TO COSPLAY THAT. You try to find the next time that Sanderson visits your hometown. Then, you scream when you realize that it recently passed... (this did not happen recently, by the way) Your greatest fear is that you will forget about the Cosmere when you get older, as it will span quite a long time. It’s an irrational fear, though. You won’t forget it.
