  1. That’s what I was thinking, but at the same time... Jasnah.
  2. Thank you so much! Sorry, I didn't know that. I will fix everything right now.
  3. Words of Radiance Spoilers: Kelsier be like: Kaladin and Moash: Elantris Spoilers:
  4. Granted, but now the puppy is the only thing that makes you happy. He/She is stolen from you, and you are now sad for the rest of your life. I wish to be able to try food from every place in the Cosmere.
  5. Lol. Also, more of the “You Know You’re A Sanderfan” Scenarios... When you literally have a group chat called “I am a Stick.” When you have an entire document full of Cosmere theories. When you talk to your friends about what Rosharan ethnicity each person you see would be. (Blonde hair for that person over there? Iri. That dude next to her is so pale... Shin? Maybe? Oh look, that girl over there has dark/tan skin and dark hair... is she Alethi? Or Reshi? This is an actual problem... Alethi or Reshi?!) When the main problem circulating through your head is whether or not someone would be Alethi or Reshi... When you play “Where’s Hoid?” in other books besides the Cosmere... (There’s some random, insightful man who only appears briefly! It’s Hoid! Oh wait, wrong fandom...) When you search up “gold ability to burn” because of chemistry reasons, and Mistborn is the first thing that pops up. You internally freak out. (Okay, scratch that— it’s both internal and external. You scream and send pictures to all of your Sanderfan friends.) When your friend says that they’re bored, so you pick up the stack of Sanderson books you just reread and throw it at them. “This is Mistborn Era 1, Mistborn Era 2, Warbreaker, Elantris, the Stormlight Archive, and Arcanum Unbounded” you say. “Read them all. Then, get an account on the 17th Shard, and get the manuscript of Aether of Night. Now go. Leave me to my fan forums.” When almost every tab open on your device is Cosmere or Sanderson related. When you have no drawing abilities but you still want to be like Shallan, so you draw a bunch of random scribbles and call it “Pattern.” When your friend says that you’re lying, so you just scream “LIES. DELICIOUS LIES” in their face. Then, your friend, who is a Sanderfan, follows up with “SUCH INTERESTING TRUTHS.” When you say “kolo, sule?” or “got it, Gancho?” instead of “okay, guys?” When you make up ways to put the orders of the Knights Radiant on a license plate, and vow to use it one day. When after you finished Words of Radiance, you saw a projector and thought about freeing the poor Cryptic from the inside of the vile machine. They were obviously helping with Lightweaving the image... When you scream because Sanderson just released another book, and people literally have to ask you to shut up and calm down... When you can’t carry the amount of Sanderson books you want from a bookstore. Whenever you finish a different book, and someone asks how it was, you respond: “Oh, it was really good. It wasn’t as good as Sanderson’s work, but still good.” When a friend says “YOLO” and you immediately think: “Life before death. Strength before weakness. Journey before destination.” When you start a “Save the Chasmfiends Fund,” the “Chull Rights Organization,” and the “Chickens are People Too Association.” When you dream about the Cosmere. When you start to see spren around you, because spren are everywhere. Duh.
  6. I was kidding about the fanfiction... it takes valuable time to write that stuff. That’s time I could be using on the Shard, or reading Sanderson books.
  7. Or possibly more than friends… lol. I should write a fanfiction about this… a love story to last the ages. Edit-- I just realized that I double posted. How do you merge posts?
  8. I am trying to write a story right now, and I showed it to a friend. I promptly asked what Shard should exist on that world, because the Cosmere just takes up my entire brain. Their response: "You aren't storming Brandon Sanderson. As much as you would like to be, your rusting story ideas will never be a part of the Cosmere. Colors, Ashspren, you are obsessed." I immediately started to freak out over the Cosmere references they made, while they shook their head laughing.
  9. When this happens... Friend A: “I actually really don’t like Sanderson’s books. Seriously, how do you even read them?” Me: (mutters angrily) “Airsick lowlander.” Friend A: “What?...” — —LINE BREAK— — Friend B: “Yeah, I was reading the Way of Kings. It really wasn’t that good.” Me: “Did you have your brain coated in aluminum or something? That can’t be healthy.” Friend B: “I... I’m sorry?” Me: “I mean, obviously. The aluminum must block the Investiture of Sanderson’s incredible writing.” Friend B: “I don’t understand.” Me: “Well, you would if you read Cosmere books! Storms, you have a lot to learn.”
  10. I love that quote! I kind of feel bad for Cadilar... I think that he thought he was going to get genuinely complimented...
  11. Granted, but you become evil. Nightblood has no choice but to destroy you. I wish to be a dragon!
  12. Then how did the Shards choose which planets to choose as their homes? Was it based on the numbers?
  13. When your friend has perfect pitch, so you tell everyone that they’re Second Heightening. When you are playing ping pong with a non-Sanderfan friend, and they say: “You’re going down!” Response: “I knew the end was near... the Final Desolation is coming.” When instead of cursing, you say “storms,” “rusts,” “colors,” “by the Lord Ruler,” etc... Whenever there’s a storm, you resist the urge to put all of your money outside. When you are trying to come up with original story ideas, but you keep on thinking about ways they could be tied into the Cosmere. When you’re super sick, so you just start drawing little spots all over you so that the “Shaod” has come, and eventually Raoden will fix the Dor and save you. When you just aspire to BE the Sanderson characters. When you trying to roast someone, and they make a comment about their (insert some sort of self-compliment here)... “You (insert compliment) is like Taravangian’s sense of honor and friendship. NONEXISTENT.” “You (insert compliment)... and Lift isn’t awesome. When you get an account on the 17th Shard... When you and a Sanderfan friend make a list of where all of your friends would live in the Cosmere, and what their lives and powers would be like. (For anyone who might be curious, I would be a steel compounder on Scadrial, living during Era 2.) When you listen to the radio, and apply each song to a Cosmere character. A little story unfolds in your head. (Oathbringer spoiler below) When you assign each one of your friends to an order of the Knights Radiant. When you read other books, you catch yourself wondering how the other worlds fit into the Cosmere. When you’ve memorized the order of the Knights Radiant, and their surges— in order. When you’ve taken 30 minutes to think of these and type them out...
  14. A friend and I were discussing the importance of numbers in the Cosmere, and how they relate to each Shard. For example, in the Stormlight Archive, the Shard called Honor always has things in tens, and Odium always has things in nines. Is there a pattern like this in the rest of the Cosmere? My personal theory (it has no evidence to back it up, but it seems plausible) is that the numbers have to do with the order in which they gained their powers as Vessels. Maybe Odium was the ninth, followed by Honor. In Mistborn, there are sixteen Metallurgic metals. Perhaps Leras, the Vessel for Preservation, was the sixteenth person to gain the powers? This isn’t as solid, though, as Hemalurgy is of Ruin... Thoughts?
  15. This is super interesting... I wonder if this is how Hoid is able to gain all of his powers and worldhop so easily. Maybe it’s written into his storyline... Another comment about the worldhopping... maybe that’s how he does it, and why he seems to thrive in the Cognitive Realm. The “Cognitive Realm” literally means “a realm of thought.” What if he pops in and out of existence every time he visits? This would not be true for every worldhopper, but Hoid seems to fare better than most in that Realm. Maybe that’s a little far-fetched, but it’s definitely interesting to think about...
  16. I really like this idea. Also, with that she might be able to start changing her life to something more solid, like the truth. It would be important for her in later life. Also, another quick question— I’ve heard that the second story arc in SA is 20 years in the future. Does that mean that it could potentially include characters like Shallan and Adolin’s children? That would be super exciting to see...
  17. No problem! As a fan of Percy Jackson and the Olympians / The Heroes of Olypus series, watchimg some of my favorite books get ruined by movies made me very protective of good books against their film adaptations, lol.
  18. I third this. Also, if they make a screen adaptation for any Sanderson books, they’d better stick to the books. There have been a ton of books that got turned into movies, and the movies just ruined them. (*cough cough Percy Jackson cough cough*) Sanderson should approve the final script— if he has, then let the movies begin!
  19. Romantic: Either Vin and Elend or Sarene and Raoden. Honestly, I loved the Vin/Elend relationship since the quoatation marks BEFORE “Now, here’s the problem with going to refill your cup of wine.” Sarene and Raoden just had such an epic storyline. Non-Romantic: Either Wax and Wayne, Breeze and Ham, or Kaladin and Syl Wax and Wayne... does anything really need to be said? They’re just awesome (I mean, not as awesome as Lift, but still). Breeze and Ham argue over the smallest things and to me, it’s hilarious. My favorite quote would have to be he following... Kaladin and Syl... they just work. I don’t ship it romantically, unlike some others, but I feel like Syl would be that one friend who is always there when you need someone. She genuinely looks out for his happiness and safety. And when Syl died in WoR, you could tell that Kaladin was torn apart. They need each other.
  20. I was really bored and wanted to take things up a notch, so I wrote a Shakespearean sonnet... (For people who are really into English and poetry, I promise this is a real Shakespearean sonnet: fourteen lines, ABAB/CDCD/EFEF/GG for the rhyming format, and even iambic pentameter.) (Also, I’m going of the pronunciations on Sanderson’s website. There’s an official Elantris pronunciation guide.) She journeyed to a land she never knew, And married someone who’d been said to die. Sarene learned to act like Arelenes do— Helped people who stood by her husband’s side. “Dead” Raoden, tossed into a city’s walls, Saw devastation as he looked around. Elantris leaders— he combined them all To make a force to bring the evil down. While wit and power are her means to fight, He finds the secrets that are yet untold. Solutions to the problems, they did find While they see Aons glow brightly in gold. So with threats gone, and foes now made their friends, The story of the lovers has its end.
  21. Granted, but now the Stormlight Archive doesn’t exist... I call upon the powers of the Nightwatcher to fulfill my boon. I wish to be able to live anywhere I want to in the Cosmere, with a long and prosperous life with many friends and family members.
  22. But wouldn’t that be extremely boring? I call on the powers of the Knights Radiant to aid me in order to fulfill their oaths. Windrunners have sworn to help those who cannot help themselves, and there’s no way I’ll be able to do this: Kill Sja-Anat, and return the Nigtwatcher to her former glory.
  23. Ding ding ding! Sorry... that was really easy...
