  1. He tries so hard to lead Though he'd just rather read But sword in hand He took a stand And he found a way to succeed (I'll give a reputation point to the first person who guesses who this was! I know, it's incredibly simple, but just for fun )
  2. Granted! As one of your powers, you become a Knight Radiant— a Windrunner. You soon breath your oaths, and the honorspren which you bonded dies as a result. The Stormfather kills you as vengeance for his “child.” I wish to be an immortal worldhopper with eternal youth.
  3. Excellent question, Syl. Who? Brandon left the person referred to by Kaladin unnamed. I think this character is going to play a larger role in the future books. Who is this mysterious person? A past love interest? A family member? Or, do you think the person is dead, and played a huge role in Kaladin’s life? (Example: Tien.)
  4. Hey, same! I guess that’s why I spend so much time on the Shard... Granted... you are the Shard of failure. The world you try to create immediately explodes upon contact, and was not worthy of becoming a Brandon Sanderson book. You slink back into the Cognitive Realm, and have never been seen since. You are virtually the most unknown Shard. I can upon the Nightwatcher to fulfill my boon. I wish to have a social life.
  5. Granted! However, you have no friends in real life. I wish for the ability to use Breath.
  6. Maybe this is Brandon hinting towards the (unfortunate) fact that Hoid’s time on Roshar might be coming to an end. When he says “He’d enjoyed his time here,” it almost sounds like a farewell...
  7. Granted, but it turns out to be an ugly selfie. Everyone uses the currency as toilet paper. If the currency is in coins, they melt them down. The melted metal is now worth more than the actual coins, because nobody wanted to use them due to the cringiness of the ugly selfie. I call on the powers of the Nightwatcher to fulfill my boon. I wish to become Jasnah’s Ward.
  8. Granted, but upon your first hop, you are killed painfully by a Shardblade. You are never seen again. I wish to be able to read minds, yet still live a long and prosperous life with many friends and family members.
  9. Yeah, pretty much! Oh wait... I just realized that I probably get Shattered...
  10. Granted, but everyone hates you for it. A group of people band together and remove you from power. I wish for immortality, eternal youth, and an Honorblade.
  11. Welcome! Have some upvotes. The Stormlight Archive is amazing, and Oathbringer was probably my favorite. Once you’re finished with it, there are a ton of discussion forums for theories. Also, after you’re done with Oathbringer, I would recommend reading Warbreaker if you haven’t already. Again, welcome to the Shard!
  12. Oh, okay... I get it now! sorry, @Bigmikey357— now I see what you were saying. I totally think that could be a possibility.
  13. Given the description on the wiki, I think it’s more likely that the starspren aren’t as sentient as highspren, honorspren, cryptics, etc. I could be wrong though; we don’t know a lot about them.
  14. I am a stick, not fire Shallan is such a liar The little black bead Shows what I should be So one should not have to inquire
  15. An amazing sentient sword Used to kill its maker in war Nightblood— his name “Destroy Evil”— his game And like it, there are no more (Oathbringer spoilers below!)
  16. Hoid might be the “superweapon” you speak of, @Ishar. Maybe they used Hoid to shatter Adonalsium, either physically or mentally. Mentally actually could work, if we’re continuing with the “Hoid is the weapon” theory. Hoid is know notoriously for his insults, which could be something that “shatters” someone’s mind or pride. Maybe his iconic position as the King’s Wit is him referencing towards his old role.
  17. That answers a lot of questions. Thanks!
  18. I LOVE JASNAH! I’m so glad I found someone else. She’s such a smart, strong, and powerful character. She’s been able to shoulder all of her problems and be an incredible force on Roshar. I do agree with you about Moash...
  19. We all know that Hoid has undoubtedly had some interactions with Shards... so when he refers to Wisdom as "she," is this just a coincidence? Or is there a Shard for Wisdom, whose vessel happens to be a woman?
  20. All Heralds are of the Almighty, which is Honor. If Edgedancers are of Cultivation, then how do they have a Herald as their patron? Is there some sort of cross-shard cooperation going on with the order of KR? Also, all other orders are of Honor, so what makes Edgedancers different?
  21. I think that could be a possibility-- maybe they're trying to convince themselves that they love each other more than they actually do. Especially since Shallan acknowledges that Veil "fawned over" Kaladin... that might be her trying to convince Veil to love Adolin.
  22. Sorry, I read OB a little while ago, so I forgot some things... do we know the name and type of Szeth's spren?
  23. I definitely think Brandon was trolling at that point-- maybe he was even poking some fun at cheesy scenes in romance novels... When I read the scene, I visualized Kaladin being off in the distance, and definitely out of earshot. He's practicing his flying, meanwhile Adolin and Shallan are indoors, inside the palace.
  24. @Mistspren I know, right? I've been looking for other spren. I know there's an Inkspren somewhere... I haven't read SoS yet, so I have no idea how good it is compared to BoM. Even if it's not as good, I'm still definitely going to read it, even if it's just so that I can read Book 4 of Wax and Wayne, which is coming out this year.
