  1. You know you're a Sanderfan when you're in chemistry, and your teacher asks what the properties of Aluminum are during a demo- and you have an overwhelming desire to respond "Cannot be affected by investiture" or "wipes an Allomancer's metal reserves" or "Is only made by Soulcasting" (and you know your chemistry teacher will get it as a fellow Sanderfan) but you only mutter it under your breath instead to save face.
  2. @Weltall, oh yeah, I hadn't even thought of Jasnah's research ("Jasnah! Stop scaring your younger brother about succession wars!- Gavilar Kholin) But then again, if the same assassin that killed his dad started killing all the world's monarchs, and being studied by a Cryptic with a terrifying symbol for a head- he probably has some grounds for his paranoia
  3. @JasnahKholin, Welcome! I definitely agree that Oathbringer was the "Reading frenzy" type of book- I had it on me at all times and read every second I could, to the point that after finishing it in 3 days some of my friends questioned my sanity. (but then again, I already know I'm not entirely sane). I honestly rate OB as Brandon's best work to date. I do however wish that we saw Shallan and Adolin's actual wedding ceremony (if only for my selfish satisfaction that my ship came out on top), that might have added a bit more closure to the ending. However, I've begun to see OB as the middle act of the "Trilogy" of the front 5 SA books, so much like how the ending of "The Empire Strikes Back", has little overall plot closure- OB must fulfill that same role for the front half of SA. So I'm fairly sure that "Song of Secrets" (my totally non-canon dream name for SA 4) will begin the process of adding a bit more plot closure to this first half of Stormlight
  4. Like I said, it happens to all of us. For instance, I realized that I probably have a crush on Jasnah- I'm way too fond of her minor character for it to just be due to awesome development.
  5. Seems to me that @Overlord Jebus has a bit of a book crush. (happens to all of us.)
  6. Is this club open to anyone in Utah county? Because if so, I'd love to join!
  7. So, in reading White Sand, I noticed a slight oddity with the nature of Sand Mastery. Sand mastery, draws on water to work, and Slatrification, creates water from sand. But since sand mastery drains water, wouldn't Slatrification be useless if it just maintains the status quo of the body's hydration?
  8. Guys, I'm going to Hamilton! I cannot contain my excitement.
  9. I think not!
  10. So at last we have solved the mystery of the 4th Ideal!
  11. Now I'm going to have to look up what 1st sons do again...
  12. The 4th Ideal helps Windrunners get a hobby and deal with their immense amount of stress
  13. You should! maybe your friends will feel a newfound sense of camaraderie with you after eating it (I mean, it worked with Bridge 4). Edit: so I made chouta. I have never been so happy in my entire life.
  14. Thanks, I'll definitely have to try this although I believe there is a WoB talking about how it would be like a shellfish Korean stew
  15. As a foodie, learning how to make food from fantasy series that I like is a really fun experience, if anyone has any good recipes for chouta, please post them, I'll definitely post the results
  16. Mine would probably have to be either "I am Hope"- Mistborn: The Final empire or "The purpose of a storyteller is not to tell you how to think, but to give you questions to think upon."- The Way of Kings
  17. Sadeas' line was pretty dang funny
  18. Honestly, I kind of want to name my future daughter Shallan. (What? It's a pretty name!)
  19. @EddyJ, Honestly, I really love the idea of Tom Hiddleston playing Hoid. (Although Benedict Cumberbatch would also work)
  20. Would y'all recommend this for a novice board gamer? Because this looks fun, I just don't want to bite off more than I can chew.
  21. That was indeed a great scene.
  22. I think that the closest equivalent to chouta would be like a Greek gyro. Also, as a sidenote, who else wants to learn how to make Rock's stew?
  23. I got Lightweaver. This has been pretty consistent with other quizzes I've taken. All in all, this is a great quiz! I feel like I could realistically give this quiz to someone who hasn't read the books and get an accurate result
