  1. Brillin looked down and softly laughed. She was good, he hadn’t even said anything about drinking, and yet now he was even more tempted to try some of the spirits they were selling. But he shook his head again and looked back up to Nerin. “No, thank you.” He looked around the large room they were in, it evoked a calming architecture, even without the soothers. “I have to say, though, I don’t really know how these parlours work, let alone the best one in the city,” He looked back at Nerin and smiled again, he knew every parlour would say the same thing, but it didn’t really matter. “Do I tell you what to soothe, or do we just talk and it happens, or something else? The man at the front didn’t seem to give me too much detail.”
  2. Wes walked a little ahead, staying behind Mike. “I want to come as well,” he said. He didn’t want Mike to face superior officers alone. Wes knew how scary they could sometimes be.
  3. “Not particularly,” Brillin said, relaxing slightly and resting his elbows on the table. He considered whether to tell her how he was travelling around, seeing the sights of Scadrial. Or would that only increase the chance for a scam, if she knew how he wasn’t native? But, a part of him still obliged. “I’m not planning on staying here much longer,” he said. Ahead he could see some people talking, a man stood up suddenly but was pushed back into his seat by another man. Distractedly he forced his eyes back to the woman in front of him. “And I’ve heard Elendel has some of the best Soothing Parlours around, so I thought I’d visit,” He saw the woman take a drink and considered buying something of his own, but eventually decided against it. Better spending the money on things he’d need in the coming travels then overpriced alcohol. “I’m Brillin,” he said finally.
  4. “Ask for Stormbreaker,” he said. She elsecalled away and Lusk wrote a message to Stormbreaker, telling him the person he was sending down needed to be protected.
  5. Rob saw as everyone else reappeared and he stood up from where he had been sitting. Shana had found Ben, fortunately, and they had all found Cassie. “Hi, everyone.” He waved. “Now that we have everyone, should we wake up?”
  6. But the username is “I think I am here.” So I might not exist, or I might not be here, or both, or neither, or half of one and three quarters of the other.
  7. Max felt Althea touch his sleeve and he felt Neo talk to all of their minds. He felt a stab of anger at having so many people talk in her head, make her feel bad and he could do nothing, but he pushed it down. Once they dealt with Vesuvius, she could wear the aluminium headband, at least until a more permanent solution was found. “You’re not going to kill any of us,” Max remarked, and marched forward. He looked to Neo and shrugged, silently telling him they had no idea what power Vesuvius presented. Marching ahead, Max looked at Vesuvius, and lunged forward in a measured swing. @Gancho Libre
  8. But do I know if I’m here?
  9. Brillin looked at the woman at a table not far from his. Standing up and pushing his chair in, he walked over to the smiling woman, starting to feel a bit more comfortable in his surroundings, beginning to walk a bit more like how one would expect a Koloss-blood to, confidently. Approaching, Brillin sat on the chair the woman gestured to, very briefly smiling in return. “Are you Nerin?” He asked, hoping it wouldn’t be a stupid question.
  10. Haha! So you do exist! I am happy I can guide others to an existence I cannot reach
  11. Brillin nodded, and carefully counted out ten clips in his pockets and putting it on the table. It had been a while since he’d been in a parlour. An Elendel one, no less. Everyone said Elendel’s were better than that cheap stuff in the outer towns. Entering through the doors the man had gestured, Brillin found himself in a large room with many desks and people, even at this time of night. Slowly he made his way to an unoccupied table (a few people cast odd looks at him, to his disdain) and waited patiently. Did he have to call someone over? Or did he just have to wait?
  12. “No,” the Haunt said, floating around, the chill in the air returning. “But stay out of PlasmaCore’s affairs. There are forces at play which even you can’t fathom.” And the Haunt’s invisible spren body shot up, shooting through the air and leaving Jackal. It continued to fly until it entered the thick black fog covering the city. There were two things about the Haunt, that made him scary. The first thing was that he could wrap fine particles around himself for a body. That meant dust. Snow. Occasionally raindrops. And definitely fog. As he sailed into the dark cloud he wrapped some of it around him, creating a mist spirit outline of him in the fog. And the second was that he could change his size. So the Haunt grew, the fog still wrapped its dark presence around the city but now there was a gargantuan figure made entirely of the fog standing ominously, almost as tall as nearby skyscrapers.
  13. Lusk’s face darkened. “Not another nuke, if that’s what you were implying.” He sighed and looked back up. “But, ideally, no. We erase that building and everything that storming came with it.” He paused. “But our ground troops will be trying diplomacy first. If a reasonable conclusion can’t be reached, tear the place down, the Ghostbloods will aid you. In the mean time, let’s get our weapons warmed up.”
  14. Lusk looked back at Zokora. Could he handle the diplomacy by himself. He made himself younger subconsciously, his hair bleeding to black, any trace of silvery grey disappearing and some wrinkles also fading. “Join our ground forces,” he said quietly to her. “I hate to say it, but maybe attacking PlasmaCore isn’t the answer. Try to see if we can talk to them. And tell the Righthand what we’re doing. She might not like not having any representation up here.” Good enough. Stay patient, I’m sending someone down who knows what to do. He sent the message, and looked back up to Silphio and the other marines. It was almost comical how much larger their armour made them than him but he continued to look up with his steel gaze. Someone needed to do it, make a plan. And someone needed to do it before PlasmaCore made their next move on the Alleymatic chessboard, “Look, we’ve got to do something, and we’re going to do now. We have a temporary truce forming to take care of PlasmaCore, so let’s storming deal with PlasmaCore. “We should set up a circle around the building, below and above surface level too, we don’t want anyone to escape. Have a lookout for any high uses of magic in the area, we don’t want them to teleport out either. “A guy on the ground knows the location of rooftop defences, that’s the only place we have knowledge about, so if we’re going to invade the building we should do it by the roof, and for the record, let’s not take any chances here, alright? They obviously have the power to wipe out troops, wipe out half of you space marines, who I’m told aren’t too easy to take down either, and top of that created this ‘eternal night’ thing. So when we invade, we’ll make sure we hit ‘em hard.” He looked to Silphio. “I’m sure your Canton can be of assistance here, Mr. Shamus?” @Grey Knight @Nohadon
  15. Shez took a break from Edahs when he saw somebody else stand near to him, telling him to move. He was just so angry right now, filled with undying rage to just see everyone die, die horribly and painfully unto, they were a pile of bones like they deserved to. As the red-eyed Shade turned to Lena he felt Alask speak to him. He told Shez not to harm the woman and Shez growled, almost stepping towards Lena but the leg stopped half way through and went back. Inside, Alask smiled. He could at least influence some things. We should move, please. Shez growled but stepped back, positioned like a predator, ready to strike whenever the waiting time was over. The rage enveloped him.
  16. The large tire attack failed and Shez charged ahead, getting cut by the serrated edges but paying no heed to the injuries. It grabbed onto the shoulders of Edahs and squeezed. Meanwhile, Alask heard Lena yell out to him. Shez! He called. We have to get away. They can help us. But Shez continued. Now Alask was just the voice in Shez’s body. “I hate this creature, so much,” he said to Alask.
  17. Two of Wilehelm’s knives hit, stabbing square into Hellbent’s right arm. Wilhelm got up, the two other men seemed to be having enough of a fight, and he looked outside just in time to see some women running away. He scowled, a dark look in his face. Of course, they were running away at the slightest danger. Here was shelter. Here was water. Food, even. And yet they’d left him and the other man to deal with Hellbent. Looking back at Hellbent he took out a wine bottle from a shelf and smashed it, liquid spilling as Wilhelm squarely threw the jagged pieces of glass at Hellbent.
  18. Brillin entered the parlour. “Quite late at night,” he narrated to himself quietly. He planned what he would write about this place in his book, whenever he got around to writing one. “The Soothing Parlour is one place where you can find men and woman from all echelons of society, packed up a building with nothing in common save for a need to have their minds relaxed beyond normal means. Why? Well, you’d have to ask the natives.” Walking forwards he tried to ignore anyone looking at his bluish Koloss-blooded skin and headed to the main bar. “Are you still open for Soothings?” He asked.
  19. Max inhaled deeply, checking his reserves. Vesuvius had put on an aluminium band, negating Max’s Rioting, so Max stopped doing it anyway. But if they could get that headband off, maybe Max could do what they’d done to the lordling back in Oasis, Seb. But, such strong Rioting? After it had been used on him, Max had felt terrible, horrid emotions crippling him. Would he wish that on someone else, actively creating that pain, that emotion? Shaking the thoughts out of his head, Max held Sethramir in a defensive stance and stepped forward as the ground formed a thin ice layer. He didn’t trip, luckily. Holding Sethramir up, Max Rioted determination and focus in everyone else. They would need every edge they could.
  20. The Yelnats’ curse in Holes?
  21. As everyone dissapeared, Rob was left alone again. What had happened, had they woke up? Other people had followed them, but Rob had no idea how to do that. Hopefully Shana found Ben, it would be sad if she didn’t. Rob looked around, and he sat on the ground. This dream place was actually peaceful, no pressures, no stress.

  23. As soon as the murder happened Wilhelm had snapped open his eyes, awake. He had expected something like this. And then the screaming followed, and the eye, the large creature, or maybe part of a creature, that looked at Hellbent, turning him into what Wilhelm was. Once was. As the large man ripped into Tish’s flesh, meat flying off, Wilhelm could feel his own urge too. The body was right there, and already dead too. But no, he had tried so hard to escape to throw it all away. Somebody jumped from within the cellar to attack Hellbent. Using the distraction, Wilhelm ran to the opposite wall of the cellar, and took out his six knives, throwing them at Hellbent.
  24. Rob followed Shana to the group where he saw almost all of them. In the same dream? It was surreal, Rob could see the burning house. He looked to Shana and to James. “If this is a dream...” Rob said, thinking to his philosophy classes. He had never expected it to come to use. And even then, he looked down at his feet, the only sign of his nervousness. “If this is dream, it means we can control it. Like how we can use our surges, but there is no stormlight. So, if we focus, we should be able to control this dream. Maybe control it enough to find Ben?” It might have been a stretch, but Rob saw how worried Shana was, and so a stretch was better than nothing.
