Contest of Champions: Walker vs. Lusk
I think I am here. replied to Darth Woodrack's topic in The Alleyverse
"You're insane. Absolutely rusting insane. Are you hearing me?" Lusk quietly ignored Wradin, the Ghostblood Elite trying to dissuade Lusk of taking the duel. If a Council Member died in a duel, that wouldn't be good for HR. Lusk sighed. That didn't matter. Most wanted Lusk dead anyway. he knew Wradin wanted Lusk dead too, secretly, which was why he wasn't doing more to stop him from taking the duel, if he really was so concerned. The Ghostblood probably even came here so he could look good to Lusk in the event he didn't die. "You know everyone is cheering for that Drown kid out there, right?" Wradin said as Lusk prepped his Harmonium cubes. He had a lot of the small things, all around aluminum pouches around his body. "Literally no one out there is cheering for you. Well, maybe I'm cheering for you, but that's about it..." Steel, Pewter, Tin, Chromium. Check. "You're old, Mr. Uwik!" Bronze, Copper, Duralumin, Iron. Check. "You're just an old man now. What are you, fourty?" "Fourty-five," Lusk replied, straightening his leather coat, a solitary blue stripe running through the right arm. It was small for Lusk, but he could handle that. Atium. Check. "And you're forgetting something, Wradin," Lusk said as he opened the granite double-doors that led into the main arena. People cheered, and some booed. Lusk turned around, closing the doors. "I'm an Atium Ferring." Wradin looked baffled. "What? That's not something to brag ab-" But Lusk closed the doors and turned around to face the Drown kid, who was on the opposite side of the arena. Walking forward, Lusk tapped Atium, becoming a young man of about 25 again, fitting perfectly into his coat, hair turning black again. He took his knife out and grinned. This would be fun, -

“Now watch how a real Fullborn does it,” Lusk said as he promptly sprinted into the first obstacle, knocking himself out. -

Max crossed his armored arms, tapping his elbow with his finger anxiously. She says Solace didn't open up to her, he projected to Althea. That fits our theory of trusting others as a weakness. As for the Cataclysm of Nalthis, it seems he wanted to do something similar in Oasis, which was why he brought it up. Obviously, it didn't work, but lots of people still ended up dead, due to... the rioting. "And what are the lines attached to Solace's spiritweb?" He asked Aurell, readying himself to go. After this answer, they would probably be ready to head to the lab. Max thought about the rock he'd seen with Althea, and smiled privately to himself. Max + Althea? He wondered who sent the rock, if only to Riot their shame beyond healthy proportions, but still, a small part of him grew warm inside. Shucks, what's happened to you now? He thought to himself.- 273 replies

You Know You're a Sanderfan When...
I think I am here. replied to Shardbearer's topic in General Brandon Discussion
Kinda late response, but I gotta respect how you said to this random guy you’re the Assassin, not just any assassin, the Assassin in White. -
We do actually have a term for us that we use quite frequently: Sanderfan. You can see it being used normally here: I like those other names you made, though!

Another idea: What if the end of the Era wasn’t signalled by something terrible happening. What if it was signalled by something really good? Like... I’m not sure, but something good happening. The happiness could set the tone of the next Era, which would have Villains to break the status quo. Just an interesting thematic choice I was wondering about.

Which only leaves “a body” left, if we want to use all three Realms.

Max followed Aurelle into the study room, lights blinking and flickering along the way. She offered Althea a seat and took one herself, and Max just leaned against a corner of the room, listening to the conversation. They had a fridge that could give whatever he asked? “Happiness.” He said. A pause. And then a chuckle. “Just kidding. I’m not that depressed.” He did order some zinc vials though. If he ever wanted to reach Oasis-levels of power, he’d have to continue storing up. Oasis-levels of power? When have you ever wanted that? Aurell handed him a card. His eyes widened. His face. He hadn’t seen his face in a while. He looked at the date. 20 years ago? The card certainly looked that age too. Taking a deep breath, he watched and listened as Aurell turned on the files. ~~After Audio Files~~ Max closed his eyes as the files came to a close. What did it mean? He’d travelled back in time? He’d... he’d been working on an abomination for years? And in his Biological Experiments, why had he said he needed to wait until Max was older? Why did these cards exist? I’m afraid. Althea’s voice in his mind. I have no idea what to make of this. Me neither, came his reply. These tapes, it means what’s happened with Solace has been far deeper than we’ve thought. He heard Althea’s question to Aurell and awaited the reply. “She wants to know who you really are,” he explained to Aurell, “and not just what you’ve been telling everyone. The truth.”- 273 replies

Alask suppressed a grin. “Great,” he whispered, finishing his last sandwhich. “We should probably go now,” he said, looking outside. “We’ll have more time to discuss things with the team if we leave early.”

I wonder if you could capture them in gemstones. Anyway, I’m with Voidus. Ookla out. -
Alask looked to Nekorb, still whispering. “Don’t tell Laonin,” he said. “But I used to steal things, and if we want to best help Laonin rebuild, we might need to steal some more. “I have a group, or team, maybe they can help us. It’s all for the greater good, right? Since these materials are going to go to rebuilding AlleyCity.”

Lusk looked nervous, and walked over to Mace as well, a small bead of Atium between his fingertips. “Here,” He said, giving the bead to Mace. “In case you’re attacked again.” Lusk resumed pouting. It was tiring being nice. To avoid the weird sensation he got when he was nice to people, he found another baby and started indoctrinating it to Ghostblood teachings. -
Alask woke up. He hadn’t had a nightmare for years, and was glad to see the pattern. Usually a nightmare meant his Shade had taken control of his body while he was sleeping, allowing itself to do whatever with zero resistance. Alask shuddered, and then got up to meet the rest of the people in here. Light was beginning to trickle through the night, and the cold breeze of dawn reminded Alask of the days he’d spent travelling, looking for work. He hadn’t had the spikes then. He took a sandwich on the platter, and then nodded in appreciation as he devoured it. It was good. Laonin went back to the map they’d looked at last night, and Alask found himself thinking. Laonin wanted a cheap way to get materials in bulk. But was there anything cheaper than the good old-fashioned heist? No. Alask had come to Laonin so he could make a positive impact on the Alleyverse, to get away from thievery. But... if he’d honed so many skills throughout his time being a thief, then it didn’t really make sense to waste them, right? Alask nodded to himself. Laonin wouldn’t know. Nobody would know. Alask would be helping rebuilding the Alleyverse. He just had to make sure he didn’t get caught. Nekorb, though. Alask would have to tell him. “Nekorb,” he whispered, tapping the man on the shoulder. “I’ve got an idea for how we can get the resources. What do you say?”

Are you sure, you trust her? And more importantly, are you alright? The words from the mental link echoed in Max’s head. He looked up when Althea asked her next question, whether he needed any supplies. “I vial of zinc wouldn’t be bad,” he replied with a smile, and then immediately resumed his frown. They needed to focus on Solace. The Epic. A small flash on his armour indicated Max’s Aons had recharged. That was good. It meant he could use the forcefield again. His attention turned back to the question she’d asked via the link. You ever wonder what’s our purpose here? He asked through the link. He didn’t know why. Why we arrived here, why we exist? Life can be good, but it can also be bad. I mean, when you’ve got that... that.. Nevermind, he shook his head. Off topic. No I don’t really need anything. And nice box.- 273 replies
