  1. I'm going to disagree with the other person here: Bondsmithspren don't seem to have the same constraint as the lesser Radiantspren. Probably due to their direct manipulation of Connection. The Stormfather never seems to be affected by distance from Dalinar, so I think Navani could probably leave the tower and the Sibling would be alright.
  2. Hey! Welcome to the Shard. What's your favorite character growth moment in the cosmere?
  3. My guess as to why they don't do it is because in order to do it, the Avatar needs sapience, so it would have free will enough to mess up one of your own plans if its interpretation of your shared Intent comes out even slightly different (if you're one of the Shards that that applies to, which might be the only Shards capable of making Avatars).
  4. That's the answer we all want to know. Someone asked it as a hypothetical a while back and got (predictably) RAFO'd. At least we have a shot of finding out.
  5. I think she thinks she's done something absolutely masterful. I don't think she's actually thought it through as much as she thinks she has, especially with the new future-sight altering corruptedTruthwatchers on the way.
  6. Renlain does not vibe in my mouth. We just need a better name in general, but at least Rlainarin rolls off the tongue better.
  7. R^2
  8. The inkspren are going to have a hard time adjusting. They're so focused on what is that learning that something they thought is actually isn't will send them spiraling. The Reachers were beginning to come around to the concept of bonds again (not with humans, sure, but it's a short hop over back to human bonds from there), so they'll have an easier time, especially if Timbre/Venli can vouch a little for the goodness in certain humans from their combined experiences with Kaladin/Lift/other humans. The ashspren...they're a complete wild card group to me. They could either refuse to believe it and keep doing what they're doing or suddenly have a crisis of faith and go to Urithiru or just go sit the fight out the whole rest of the fight until they come to grips with it.
  9. Vax is secretly just a shenanigan bar and that's what Hoid was talking about.
  10. I'm just echoing Brandon, though now that I think about it, that answer may have been referencing the Vessel's interpretations of each Shard, since Leras-as-Preservation just wanted everything to stay the same, so naturally any amount of Cultivation would have been opposite his desires.
  11. I might have to disagree. Invention seems to be in a position to fill that slot, since Harmony was only able to successfully contact them once. Mercy could be the opposition to Odium. Seems close enough to Charity to fit. Also, as a little tidbit, Cultivation is closer to being the opposite of Preservation than Ruin was, which is kind of funny.
  12. My money is on it being something to do with his oath of no harm. Like a visible symbol of "Hey! This guy is safe."
  13. I bet the dude is either that dragon that's kicking around Roshar, or a kandra. A kandra would make some sort of sense because of the Scadrial saying about the firepit that Wax references (If you want to know a man, look in his firepit or something) and a dragon could also make sense because there's a good chance any dragon that's offworld from Yolen can pick up on things other can't.
  14. It's him! It's the boy! The best boy! Yes! Excellent art!
  15. If we're talking about full-on Era 1 skaa, I'd put them more as a slave caste, but if it's the original skaa (before noble genetics made their way through the skaa bloodlines), I'd probably put them solidly as another race.
  16. It was the Wit epilogue.
  17. Sometimes I'll have random ideas show up while I'm getting ready to go to bed or while I'm showering, but other times I'll force it to show up by downing more caffeine pills than any one person should take in a month and starting to spin words.
  18. Oh do I have so many stories that could fit here. One time I was playing a pacifist Druid that, in a very Hulk-like situation, would shapeshift into a very violent wendigo when certain triggers were met, the curse that made him that way magically suppressing his smarter elf mind, ruining his ability to cast spells until he turned back or otherwise had the curse lifted. At some point, he found an anti-curse necklace that let him lock his alternate form away, with the caveat that the moment he took it off he was going to forcibly shift, and had been wearing it ever since, as his weaponry and magical abilities were plenty enough to handle any of the threats we were running across when properly supported. On the first meeting with the BBEG (though we didn't know that's who she was at the time, as far as we knew she was just attacking us [we later found out she wanted her daughter back, who was a very ditzy kitsune that had been travelling with us as an NPC for a while]), which was supposed to be the first of many interactions forming a full-on enemy relationship with this massive fox lady. Unfortunately, our DM underestimated the ability of the players to accidentally disrupt ideas, so when he mentioned that the spells the party wizard was casting against her got dissolved against a skin-tight anti-magic field that she radiated, I had the worst idea ever. So my wonderful wendigo shifter climbed a tree to about eye level of this three- or four-story creature and leaped out, aiming for the eyes, removing the curse suppression necklace along the way, forcing a complete shift. He didn't make it to the eye, having failed a check, but instead got bitten and trapped between her teeth, head inside and arms desperately trying to keep the teeth from closing entirely. Unfortunately for the DM, that worked just as well as what I was planning, and upon contact with her teeth, I asked him if the anti-magic field extended to the teeth. He looked at me a little funky. I'd already been playing with him for a while, so they knew my habit of pulling funny things out of nowhere, but he eventually said yes, the field does cover contact with teeth. Well, the curse that kept Kino's mind suppressed was dispelled upon contact. I checked with him, and he just nodded slowly, not exactly sure where I was going with that, but starting to look a little more wary (probably remembering the time I kamikazed a space hotel with my ship, trying to hijack it [whole different campaign] and nearly succeeding). So I apologized to him, then said I was casting the variation of lightning storm Kino had down her throat. Rolled a nat 20 to hit, rolled my 5d12 (4 of the 5 were 12s), doubled that, added my damage bonus, and it came out to more health than she actually had. I apologized to him again after that, but in the moment, it was very funny.
  19. True enough. Might be Danlan. She was a scribe for Navani for a bit (I think) and I also think I recall something about Adolin mentioning her handwriting being good.
  20. We are all running out of time - wait no Unus Annus is over now, that's not funny anymore. Uh...maybe he just wants to get to Alcatraz faster! Now that would be a thing and a half for him to do.
  21. 62%. That halfway mark didn't last long.
  22. Lots of very subtle cosmere puns.
  23. My first thought was that it was their Spiritual Ideal selves. The versions of themselves already at the end of the journey that Radiancy brings about. But then I pretty much tossed that idea out in favor of Kaladin's being Dalinar and Venli's being either Eshonai or Cultivation herself.
