  1. Rusts. I didn't notice that.
  2. I haven't seen anything about this in a forum, so I thought I'd throw it here so it can be thoroughly discussed and inevitably RShara and/or Calderis will come in with some hidden WOB that I didn't find and pull the rug out from under me.(I'm convinced you two have witchcraft or something) The Irilai are not native to Roshar, and the current thing is The Long Trail is them worldhopping everywhere. What if one of the worlds they've come from is Obrodai? We know very little about it, other than it has a manifestation of a Shard there (probably Autonomy, right?) and that it was referred to as having waters. While that could be just the choice of words used to refer to the area of the planet in both Cognitive and Physical Realms, but what if it didn't? There would be so many other words to use there that the use of waters specifically pokes out to me. Now, why does that have anything to do with the Irilai and The Long Trail? In Oathbringer, the Irilai move forward their spanreed conversation with Dalinar because of an advisor known as a Tidereader saying that an earlier meeting is better. Tidereader. Provided the comment about Obrodai actually having water, it would make sense if that would become a focus of things for the people that live there for a long time, even to the point of attempting to tell the future using it extending, even, to a world where telling the future, even obliquely, is a big no-no. Can't get rid of cultural stuff that easy. So what do y'all think? Did the Irilai come from Obrodai at some point?
  3. Probably in exchange for access to Preservation's magic, honestly.
  4. You're good to read all of it, but the Mistborn: Secret History is more fun after you've read Era 2/Wax and Wayne, so go back and read that then!
  5. Honestly, I kind of hope it is Kell, just to see him go completely ham in a modern setting.
  6. How far back does the Epicanthic Fold stretch on Roshar? I don't think the people on Ashyn had it, since the Shin do not, but how long would it have taken for that to appear? I am also assuming that the development is directly related to protection from grit flung by the highstorms, based on one of the real theories on why it exists. Is that a safe assumption?
  7. Welcome to the Shard! You're gonna have a load of fun here.
  8. Yeah, Jasnah is best right now. Having said that, I hope she teaches Gavinor some and when he comes of age becomes a good king.
  9. Reckon I should ask the man himself about it via Reddit or something?
  10. According to Ham, some people can squeeze more power out of their metals than others. Is that based on Connection to Preservation? Like if you were more Connected, you could get more power? As a side note, does that mean The Lord Ruler was the most efficient Allomancer, since he built himself to have the power with a chunk of Preservation's own power? EDIT: forgot to check Arcanum. Found my answer.
  11. I just thought of something. That's the reason he was killing Feruchemists. The only solid bloodline for them would have been through him, then, allowing him to choose when to have a successor that can be guaranteed the same amount of power as him.
  12. I mean kind of, but also he's not exactly the best person all around, or the most informed. See below:
  13. There's no way it'll be someone stealing powers. Harmony could likely interfere if you rip yourself up that much, even if they were to use Trellium.
  14. Yeah, that was his plan, but it's quite possible he would have trained a successor at some point. After all, living that long would be rusting tiring, even for an ultimate Fullborn.
  15. Electrum Compounder. I need the determination.
  16. All Investiture can shove itself into someone if they're broken in some way, shape, or form (Snapping on Scadrial, the way all the Radiants are messy inside, the Returned actually have to die, etc). Considering Nightblood is one of the most highly Invested objects in the cosmere, it's not out of the question to say it can do the same and insert itself.
  17. No, if he would have chosen to keep Compounding. Though now that I think about it, he probably wouldn't have a had a choice after multiple exposure's to Preservation's power at the Well.
  18. That's why he's there. He can feed off of Stormlight just the same as he can Breaths, and Stormlight is easier to get a hold of than Breaths, so you are probably correct that he was walking in the storm.
  19. Theoretically, as long as he had atium, he would never have run out of age to keep himself going. The question would be if he would have, which might be a no, since he did seem weary towards everything in TFE.
  20. Radical.
  21. Mine shredded itself on my first read.
  22. It really is. The main reason Hoid and Kell don't get along is because they're too similar.
  23. Congrats on reading it all and coming here! We look forward to seeing you post things!
  24. Quantus is correct. Branderson was initially intending only to write Alloy of Law and then jump to Era 3 after Stormlight 5, but then he enjoyed writing it too much and it expanded to the point Bands of Mourning being a surprise book, written earlier than it should have been to keep things straight in Shadows of Self.
