  1. Still could be equated to Might. It requires strength to hold onto your own territory. Honestly, everything would be solved if Sazed could just pick up another Shard. Autonomy would free him up nicely.
  2. Probably, yes, but Taldain is even more inaccessible than Sel because Autonomy is doing shenanigans.
  3. They're all equal tiny infinities of power deriving from Adonalsium's large infinity of power.
  4. I think what stopped him is that the one he'd want (to be an Elantrian) there's no godmetal for that he could easily get because of the specific issues on Sel and dealing with the Selish Shards.
  5. Harmony has issues doing anything because of the opposite Shardic Intents he is stuck between, though. In his own words, it feels like he's being pulled between massive gravitational forces, each equally powerful. So by raw power, he is stronger, but because he has trouble finding the gray area, he's neutered in what he can do. If he became Discord, he might ironically be more powerful, because then he could choose at random to Preserve or Ruin, but at least he'd be able to make use of the obscene amount of power he has.
  6. My guess is that they're trying to gain the power of a Shard so they can fix their own Cognitive Realm and travel easier back home.
  7. Yeah, but it's a lot more descriptive and while I admire that, this specific example wigs me out a little.
  8. Probably some opera, full orchestral, basically all the fancy stuff that can be amazing for people with perfect pitch.
  9. Ask them what one thing is that they would do with Forging, had they the ability, and get them to explain why. Always interesting to hear.
  10. The answer is probably that in Kholinar, he had his healing suppressed, so it actually hurt, but otherwise he may have healed so fast it didn't technically hurt at all.
  11. But he can't eat an entire Shard at once. How many times would be need to sate himself with Odious Investiture to be able to do so?
  12. That would be amazing actually. Could Nightblood survive reentry?
  13. They're supposed to be pretty good, but like @I am a STICK!!!!!!!!!!!!!! said, better to speed them up a little.
  14. That would be possibility, yeah, I guess.
  15. So I noticed something on my most recent read-through of Era 1 that I hadn't consciously registered before: Ruin's influence on people (him whispering and how much they react to it) is visible to other characters seeing the results. That was a little confusing, at least to me, so here's an example: in Urteau (did I spell that right?), when Spook is listening to "Kelsier" tell him what to do and responding positively/doing what he is told, Sazed makes the observation that Spook looks like an Inquisitor with the spectacles beneath the blindfold. Not a big thing, I can see where he's coming from, but the timing of it, with Sazed having seen Spook and his dramatics before and never thinking about it. This is even present within the first book to a degree, when as Kelsier is becoming closer to Ruin, Vin notices him visibly getting more intimidating (no one else seems to notice this, but I guess it fits because she's more attuned to Preservation than most other people). If I remember correctly there's a couple other examples scattered about here and there. Each and every one of these causes some uneasiness for whoever notices it. Now here's my idea on why this happens and why they all get likened to people with extreme Ruinous influence (beyond just it's a way for Brandon to let people make the connection easier): The little bit that grants human sentience is Preservation's influence, which would naturally recoil at added Ruinous influence and the more heavily Invested by Preservation the people are, the easier they notice it, it seems, with Vin noticing the change in an un-spiked person, meanwhile it takes Sazed multiple encounters with a spiked person to notice, but no one else seems to. What do y'all think?
  16. The key words there are "defining trait of Adonalsium." The Shards =/= what Adonalsium was directly. The Shattering could have gone other ways, with other Shards being formed, suggesting it was not a matter of what Adonalsium was, but what the people doing the Shattering were like/wanted/exemplified (some of them for each). For example, Ati wanted to contain the force of destruction that would become called Ruin so that it couldn't do a ton of damage a la Odium. Rayse, however, directly wanted to be an embodiment of emotion/hate. That was his choice. For the rest of the Shards, as far as I'm aware, it is unclear what the circumstances were that lead to them being formed the way they are, but it's possible that one of the Vessels-to-be was having second thoughts about what they were doing and caused a Shard of Weakness to form.
  17. Might could very feasibly be Dominion. yes? Harmony could be interpreted as an analogue to a supremely weak God, as he is stuck between the essentially opposite Ruin and Preservation.
  18. Did I forget to put that in? My bad. I was even staring at it sitting right next to me. Fixed now.
  19. There are a few short stories: Edgedancer, Shadows for Silence in the Forests of Hell, The Emperor's Soul, Mistborn: Secret History, and Allomancer Jak among them (I might be missing a few), all compiled in Arcanum Unbounded. There are 6 full Mistborn novels (with a 7th releasing at some point), Elantris, Stormlight (duh), Warbreaker (which will also eventually have a sequel), the White Sand graphic novel, plus a bunch of extra not-yet-canon stuff that will eventually get refined into actual canon material (Aether of Night is here, plus Dragonsteel). I might have missed a little bit, but I think that's everything.
  20. How far have you read @Ripheus23?
  21. Welcome! Enjoy your time, and whatever you do, don't accept a cookie (if that's still a thing).
  22. Callsign: Pun. Y'know, cause I'm always heading skyward. Edit: to be serious, probably something like Callsign: Tea.
  23. That sounds amazing honestly. I'd totally watch it.
  24. I wish my professors were more efficient, does that count?
