  1. @Reader, I'll throw in a mention of location. Actual chapter one goes into the main character's POV as he watches the rioters get their butts kicked. I suppose I could have done it better though. Back to the drawing board! Originally the world was flat. Then I made it a cube. Then Brandon sniped the idea, and I figured flat worlds that come with a new set of rules worked too.
  2. An Odium related question: So....if three ruled, and Odium's the broekn one....why's he broken and who's number three?
  3. Feruchemist. I'd ace every test, win all trivia games, and remember everybody's name (More important than most think). I'd be fast when I need to be, can immitate sickness perfectly, think faster than anybody, and possibly make instant friends. Allomancy simply doesn't have as many amazing uses as that IRL.
  4. I'm simply saying. Allomancy follows rules. You can push and pull on anything metal. And then there's aluminum. I'd guess we'll learn about why in series 2.
  5. On the topic of Seers, not only are they fairly rare (At the very most a tenth of the misting population), but Atium itself is very difficult to come by. You have to buy it off the Lord Ruler for ridiculous amounts of money, and I don't see many people going through all that to get a bead they'll just throw away testing. Better idea: Copperclouds, somebody would notice because they don't have to actively try to find it out. It could simply be an accidental find. With Atium, how many times do you accidently eat an Atium bead? God says copper's perfect, but you might accidently learn otherwise. But God says only Mistborn get Atium, so why would any of th nobles waste time and money proving him right or wrong?
  6. Surprisingly, no flashbacks will be involved. One moment while I get the rest of it...
  7. We are talking about destructive interference differences, not hemalurgy. Just saying: In a whole thousand years, somebody would have lived long enough to talk.
  8. Shardic powers are all tied to their world in some way, so I'd say that isn't too big of a stretch.
  9. Killing them noble, even discreetly, would make things even worse. All they'd have to do is tell one person, and then the two deaths or silencings would lead to a truckload of suspicion.
  10. I actually was thinking Noblemen. Since they are allowed to use allomancy freely, they'de be more likely to notice something.
  11. Don't forget Bavadin. He's in the same solar system as Odium, Honor, and Cultivation. We don't know what he's up to, only that the author of the letter doesn't like him and associated him with Odium. Also, the letter refers to Rayse holding Odium in present tense, and I don't see the shard the author fears so much being defeated in a hurry.
  12. The reason nobody recognized it is because women aren't out on the battlefield pointing out the magical parallels between Parshendia and Dawnchant. The phonetic differences between accents and the difference in word sounds between "Die. Die. Kill with honor. Die, shoot bow, kill kill" or whatever Parshendi say, and a conversation between Dalinar and Honor are quite large I'd imagine.
  13. What it comes down to is the reasoning behind aluminum's random immunity to allomancy. Is it more invested than other metals? Is it from another planet and exempt from the rules? I honestly have no idea.
  14. My point is, he is suprised as heck when Vin busts his coppercloud. He adamantly replies that Vin is special, and that over a thousand years nobody has ever mentioned anything about copper's lack of ability. If there had been even a shred of a rumor about copper, somebody would have spread it, and somebody would have mentioned it. Somebody underground who runs on rumors, like Kelsier, would have at least heard of the rumor before.
  15. Pulsers are turning out quite useful it seems Can time bubbles be exitted? If not, it could easily trap somebody inside it for years (Provided it can reach some poor sap through a wall)
  16. Erm....would YOU charge enemy archers, running for miles over broken lanscape while carrying a bridge that requires 25 men to carry while wearing heavy armor? Doesn't sound like much fun.
  17. Vorinism loves symetrical things, and Kabsal proves the extent of it. The Shattered Plains are symetrical, though that may be coincidence. I feel like I should see a connection here, but I can't find it...
  18. Aon origin stories? This is better than bonus edition comic books!
  19. Aiden stepped off the edge of the world. How's that for a hook?
  20. Unarmed Seer would last for a while, since there is no guarantee he'll go exactly where your fire pattern wants him to. Provided said seer has a gun, he'll beat almost anything, since he can shoot you without fear of getting hit. Remember, thugs die if hit in the head. One shot is all a seer needs, and the thug goes bye-bye.
  21. We could just say that sound is the body's way of enterpreting the crazy new information it is given. But meh. If Bronze really did operate on sounds, there would have been rumors of breakable copperclouds. Kelsier's reaction to it proves that there are no such rumors.
  22. I supposed Cultivation might be more of a "Behind the scenes" type shard, as he/she has been much less obvious than the others so far. And BTW, I'm pretty sure the monks changed via Dominion, not Devotion.
  23. I could have sworn Bronze was internal (Change inside yourself to detect thumps) and Copper was External (Spreads outside of you to muffle thumps) I'll check.
  24. "Most likely". I'll take that as a discreet RAFO until proven wrong.
  25. Emeror's Soul is on Sel? I really need to keep myself mor einformed than this! I love forgery. I'm happy to learn how to bend that skill to magical means.
