  1. Sadly, they don't fit Jasnah's descriptions, so they probably were the things described fighting beside them. This is provided Odium isn't going Ruin on us and messing with records.
  2. You might be on to something there.
  3. Correct. They tore themselves out of the ground and fought, which harks back to this theory.
  4. I think you didn't get what I was saying. Rephrase: At this rate, Allomancy will fade from the populace to the point that its rediculously weak and barely useful at all. Hence the need for Lerasium to boost it back up.
  5. I don't see Honor reigning. He's dead, spintered, and ignored. Nobody on Roshar is very honorable, the storm said quite nicely that Odium reigns. Three shards ruled, now the broken one reigns. Odium reigns. It simply makes me wonder how Odium is broken. Reference: Adonalsium is evil theory.
  6. They're the tall pillars of rock in Dalinar's homeland.
  7. I've asked this before but never got an answer, so I'll ask again. Has Brandon confirmed that Midas is Hoid? Because from what I can see, Midas cared quite a bit about his master, which contradicts the statement he makes on Roshar. Of course, it's entirely possible that something stopped him from caring later on.
  8. Odium is hatred, which is not necessarily killing. If anything, Ruin would be the supreme killing force, and the only reason Preservation could hold up under his assault was because he was self-preserving. We just don't know enough to brush off Odium's power as part of his intent. As Sazed points out, minutes pass like hours to a shard. So by brief, Hoid either means in human time, which is not very long, or in Shardic time, which is even shorter.
  9. Hoid was alive and on an Adonalsium-made world, so that theory doesn't really hold up. The fact that everybody talks about dead gods and the fact that Brandon said Adonalsium hasn't broken at that time leads me to suspicion. The two things don't really match up.
  10. Toast control. I have the power to make my toast always land face-up when I drop it.
  11. That's just the name Brandon originally called Szeth. When Szeth is in the 'hospital', it mentions that he could kill him, right there. Then it said honor prevailed over it, because what were a few more deaths? On several occasions he also warns himself against questioning his religion, lest he question his nature as truthless. That all says to me that the stone has no real power over him.
  12. What info? Odium and the shards? We get that from epigraphs of all books, as well as Brandon interviews. Adonalsium? That's Way of Kings and Hero of Ages, as well as some interviews. @Vikter. The idea is that he's choosing to use his hate in a bad way. Ruin had his excuse of being a force of destruction, but Odium doesn't have to kill. Yet he does anyways, vying to be the only thing left in the world. That is what makes him evil. So, as I said before, Adonalsium didn't necessarily have to be evil for all its hatred, though it is still worrying how much it had...
  13. Hoid is a character who appears in every single one of Brandon's books. He's part of the background storyline, and uses the cognitive realm to hop from planet to planet. I believe it has been confirmed that he's Midas is the Liar of Partinel, and he was there when Adonalsium shattered into the 16 shards. For more spoilery info, I'd suggest the coppermind. http://coppermind.net/wiki/Hoid
  14. Who said it had to be Bavadin? Who said Bavadin ever even came into contact with Roshar? He's just somebody Hoid dislikes, there's a good chance he's not even related to Odium. PS: Ah, I see. Somebody did mention him. My bad.
  15. Alright, so I don't believe anybody has done this yet, so I'll go ahead and post it. I've organized the Death Cries into various categories in the hopes that we might make a little more sense out of them. And with that sad little intro behind us, let's move on! Please note, this now includes spoilers for Words of Radiance, especially the Confirmed section. Continue at your own risk. Original quotes, mostly in order, complete with chapter name and notations. Sorted by time pre-death Sorted by notation comments on usefulness. Recognized Events. Confirmed Events. I plan to add to this list as I get more time and see more connections. For now, speculate on what we have.
  16. I stand corrected. Dalinar apparently remembers enough to know she died 10 years previous to WoK
  17. Yes. Shards manifest most powerfully in liquid form, so shardpools are the strongest physical aspect of their power.
  18. Argh, I can't remember for the life of me what the kingfisher series is >_>
  19. If there's the oathpact, it shows he's bound by rules. It stands to reason the other shards have their rules as well. The question is: Is there a way to guage weaknesses?
  20. Hrathen. I love his inner conflict stuff. Galadon is an easy second.

Only mental power/human attribute spikes mess with your head. How they do it, we don't know.
  22. Point. That doesn't mean that there's no shardpool though. It's likely he'd put one in somewhere.
  23. Somebody proposed the theory that the various shard developed individual personalities, and their bickering caused it to shatter. Alternatively, it's possible that Adonalsium was unable to fight back, being bound by certain rules, and his intent stopped him from attacking back.
  24. Well of Ascension doesn't count, considering the obscurity of everything we know about its old positioning. But still, I suppose it isn't too much of a stretch to call the origin a shardpool. Wonder if the final desolation always comes when somebody picks up Odium's pool and uses it to accidentlly wreck the world...
  25. Turned Renerian into a bear? Did I log into the Brave forums on accident?
