  1. I assumed that the Parshendi were holders of splinters, not splinters themselves. The rest of the pieces could have become spren, or been directed by Odium to waste power in highstorms (You clever monster). It's also possible that the Parshendi have figured out a way to harvest the Honor splinters, and are trying to piece them together. When one of their kind dies, they leave it be so it can finish expelling Honor pieces back out into the world, where they can once more be collected by the Parshendi (Possibly in a place similar to the Well or the Pits.) Kind of farfethced, but I do like the idea of somebody slowly gathering the bits of Honor via shardpool.
  2. I would like to announce that I would like to announce that I'm happy to take advantage of an announcement thread for my most gratuitous use of the word "announce" in description of my joy of KChan's return.
  3. Point. It's quite likely that they would have pressed him into service with them, never allowed back to his family due to his owning shards and vauable information. It would have been cleaner and safer all around ot proclaim him dead and quietly slip him away. The fact he actually did die is secondary.
  4. And, like any good thoery, we get it shot down in moments. Allow me to attempt to salvage the thread What if Gavilar was going something similar to Taravingian in badness, with no hope of change? The Parshendi can't exactly walk in and tell him to stop, now can they? Unfortunately, they only have pieces of honor. The splinters aren't enough to completely destroy their personality, only enough to tilt them towards honorable intentions. They used Szeth to kill Gavilar, but for some reason totally unexplained and similar to Taravingian's purposes, they ask him to make it big and messy. Why? To get them to go to war on the Shattered Plains. Probably in hopes of getting all the armies in one place, up and ready for the final Desolation. Once it came, self-preservation would bring the ten armies together, possibly even driving them to ally with the parshendi in the event that they're not the voidbringers. How's that sound?
  5. That actually sounds quite useful. And as for surviving tough times or using it for a cryo nap, that's pretty cool.
  6. By taking a piece of Preservation off a person, they're stealing that extra bit that gives you sentience. You'd be an animal in essence. At least Jewel retained intelligence.
  7. Also, has Brandon Word of God 100% confirmed that Midas is Hoid? Because I don't know about you, but Midas seems to care quite a bit about Hoid, contrary to the quote he gives Kaladin in the SHattered Plains. Oh what I would give to see Theus turn "good" and wind up being Hoid
  8. Isn't there a quote on how there's still a piece of Lerasium floating around somewhere? Because that's the only was I see allomancy lasting long enough to be noticeable in the future.
  9. Likewise, it'd be great for dancing. It's such a pain to figure things out some times. And yes, Allomancers would be great for the movie industry. But as long as they have plays, rioters and soothers are the name of the game.
  10. I swear somewhere in WoK we see a shardpool, described as "too still". Lemme find my copy. EDIT: Nope, that's the Liar of Partinel. Sorry :/
  11. I wrote the story when I was ten. The general idea was good, but in hindsight the magic system sucked. So I'm rewriting the whole thing with a musical magic system, which I think defines the magic system and limits it quite nicely. TL;DR: Where I write, we're required to have a "back flap" type thing. So I'll add that too.
  12. I felt like Bendalloy and the other kind of came from nowhere in AoL. I guess that's just me preferring an in-story discovery, but oh well.
  13. That would place him at 7 months early! ...Or 5 months late. Man we need to hurry! I would like to renounce my announcement pertaining to my love of my new position as an entity of pure light. I would also like to announce a newfound desperation for my new goal: To become an entity of pure salt. That is all. Thank you.
  14. Think of it this way: We get a plot set, but instead of an author controlling the characters, individual people control their own characters, which leads to diversity and some fun and unexpected twists in the story. We've been given the setting and the plot, and now we get to create and control characters in the story, interecting with others and pretty much ad libbing our own little Mistborn story. In rediculous terms, an RP is an online text-based role playing game, a role-playing game played online using a solely text-and-picture-based interface. EDIT: By the way, welcome in advance. New members are always nice.
  15. I am, unfortunately, a big fan of vague Proglogues. So I'll use it.
  16. Uritiru is in the west, closest to Honor, furthest from Highstorms, so it isn't that. But the Ghostblood hideout? Sounds reasonable.
  17. What if iron pulls and steel pushes are simply temorary spiritual bonds that create a second spiritual force of gravity pointing to or away from you?
  18. Which is kind of funny, considering your name. Since Brandon's never been the type to leave his magic systems alone and unexplained, I'm expecting to learn the rest of the hemalurgic properties, as well as the new alloys of Atium.
  19. Thanks for the all the links. Now I'll have my head buried in them all morning
  20. Riddle me this: Do we want Adonalsium back? Also: I'm fairly sure any shards can be together, even total opposites. The only instance of you being unable to pick up a shard is if it doesn't want you to (Like the mists only took Vin.) or your current Shard's intent forbids it (May upset balance, you hate it too much, etc).
  21. Ah yes, I was wondering when that theory would return to the playng field. I like the idea of him being the Shardbearer, and it further connectes the story characters through Ghostblood interests.
  22. Would you rather... Place the fate of the world in the hands of a total idiot who knows what to do or a smart person who has no way to find out?
  23. You forget that the stapled minds would go insane as well. They have another mind in their head too, meaning it really isn't much better for them anyways.
  24. Brandon said something about mental fortitude driving humans insane. Something about 2 minds in one head.
