  1. +1 for Kvothe's sake. Actually, doesn't Atium sound exactly like the kind of future sight Ruin would use? Destroy things, right here, right now. Nothing long term about it, just simple kill kill kill.
  2. Doesn't change the fact that it's pure Ruin in metal form, and uses Ruin's powers of future sight. It would make sense fo rit to be an exception to the rules.
  3. She fell off a wall and didn't die, and is described as similar to the nasty Elantrians, so we can assume all Aonic effects do that if made incorrectly. That says to me that the Shaod is an Aonic effect, and therefore reproduceable.
  4. Ah good, somebody remembers the good old DragonLance series Still, it makes me curious as to why Adonalsium had such a powerful aspect of hatred. Was there something to balance it, or did the hatred expand from something?
  5. Yes, or, at least, we assume he is. For all we know she left or ran away. Thanks to the Nightwatcher, we'll never know.
  6. The Shoad seems to be Devotion's Lerasium. Makes me wonder if you could concentrate it into solid form. GASP! Dilaf's wife turned into a sickly Elantrian due to failed Aons. Could a special kind of "God Aon" turn people into Elantrians?
  7. That may be his goal. If he holds a splinter and Dominion stuff bolsters him like a piece of shardplate and gems, he could be trying to regrow the rest of himself. That would mean Elantris is followin gthe trend of there being a bigger Shardic enemy. Ruin, Dominion, Odium.
  8. If Aluminum absorbs investure, could the be drawn out somehow and used? Could a shard influence aluminum, or is it some oddity that even Shardic power can't work on? Personally, I think God Metals are exceptions to the aluminum rules, considering the rediculousness of Shardic power not working on aluminum.
  9. The rest of the Mistborn books. It's my favorite of all his series, and I'm looking forward to the rest of it.
  10. You forget, Ruin was not evil. He put it quite well actually. Morality doesn't even enter the equation with him and Preservation. Likewise, Cultivation and Dominion are not necessarily good or evil, they are simply doing what they do. Devotion is a tough call. Does being forced to love count? Honor is difficult as well. But then again, Szeth is honorable, and yet what he does is terrible. He has a choice in the matter, so is he good or bad? Odium would be much like Honor and Devotion if not for one factor: Its holder is evil. Odium hates all, and is driven by it. He seeks to be the only thing left in the universe (Sounds like Raistlin almost...), and refuses any shard that might change his vision. Odium wants to be evil. Though the Shard itself may not be inherently evil, the current version of Odium is.
  11. Devotion: Love, loyalty, or enthusiasm for a person, activity, or cause.
  12. By "Rare" I meant in useable form, much the same way water is common, but only 1-2% is readily useable.
  13. We could go back to Kaladin's idea of Parshendi-carapaces. Those proved unsafe under a ahil of arrows, but a few adjustments and a lot more people could fix that. Run those in front and the bridgemen don't need armor And if they traded off, got paid well, and volunteered for the job, I'd have no problem with bridgemen
  14. Unfortunately Chromium is absurdly rare, so you'd been to be rich in the first place to get your hands on some.
  15. I'll take brief visit to mean that he didn't take more than a few days to completely wreck two shards. Even if "terrible" was supposed to mean something else, beating two shards in a brief period of time is pretty impressive.
  16. What if Adonalsium was shattered for a reason? What if Adonalsium was "evil"? Think about it. Why would Odium, hatred, be the strongest of all the Shards? Could it be that Adonalsium's hatred was its strongest element? Until we see other Shards and compare power, we can't be sure, but as of now we see the largest and most powerful piece of Adonalsium as its Hatred. Here we see that Odium killed not only one, but two shards in a "brief" period of time. So, discuss this. Is fixing Adonalsium really the right thing to do?
  17. I'm fairly sure I mentioned that.
  18. In that case, he'd better hurry the heck up or I might just send the order!
  19. You forget that you'd have to kill other people for it to work, and the cops are pretty likely to find you after 16 murders. Sure, you'll have allomancy (Provided others get powers too) or at the least more strenth, but you'll have no real life after all that.
  20. Brandon needs Bendalloy. WE need Cadium.
  21. Ah, but this isn't Preservation, this is Dominion. It's very power comes from people being smashed under an iron fist. I find it likely that its power would have something to do with Domination. Likewise, whether or not Jaddeth is Dominion or not, they're still getting shard-based power from somebody.
  22. It's worth noting that only Lerasium has an external piece.
  23. Making somebody really late for a meeting
  24. Copper, as has been stated, is the whole basis for illegal allomantic dealings. Smokers are so valuable and well-used that it's unrealistic to assume nobody saw anything. Clubs, and all other intelligent thieves with fronts, would always keep several smokers on them. With Club's 5+ smokers, Vin or Kelsier would have been bound ot notice something at some time. Other thieving crews apply to that as well.
  25. Ah, but you can do that with a slider much more efficiently anyways.
