  1. "Yep! And you haven't even seen the arachnidishes yet!"
  2. "Oh it is, very. It defines rules." Bacon spat the word as if it were a curse. "He could lock away my ability to Narrate! He could probably lock away your bond, too, if he really wanted to. Dangerous indeed!"
  3. "The Plotblade of Lore, or Continuity as some call it. I've never really seen the point of either."
  4. "He certainly thinks he is," grumbled Bacon. He sighed. "And he does have the hammer."
  5. "Like I said before, I'm a Narrator. That means that I Narrate existence into being. Anything I desire becomes reality! And that he is. I hope he wakes up soon. He never answered my question."
  6. Nogard sighed. "I suppose it's too much to hope a wizard will just magically appear with answers to all our questions." "A fellow Narrator of mine. Brooding fellow. Wears big black armor, lives in a fancy castle in the middle of a wasteland. Much too serious, in my opinion." Selppaenip was puzzled. Had he been knocked out or hadn't he? "Oh! Hello, Subversion. I was wondering if you would show up." He tilted his head thoughtfully. What does Subversion look like? "You escaped the Brave Adventurers. Congratulations!" For some reason, Bacon the Bard appeared to be disguised as a tree. "Most people are still here. Erif took a few people to find that book of his, but he's returned with most of them. Just that Shoe fellow got left behind. Oh, and Aero, but it seems he's being swapped out." Bacon paused. "Er... you don't need me to list everyone out, do you? I'm sure my Author would be happy to oblige, but he's in kind of an inconvenient place at the moment."
  7. "Regularly, or just whenever?" "Nope. Onyx doesn't want them knowing anything about Narrators." "Hello!" said Bacon the Bard. "I'm afraid I don't have time for the full introduction. Peer pressure and all that." See y'all later. Signing off.
  8. "Yeah! I nearly had a heart attack! Fortunately Erif was looking the other way, so I was able to get away just in time. But it was a close call!"
  9. "Yup. What if I appeared right on top of them and shattered their perspective of the world? Onyx would flay me alive!" I will be watching this arc with interest
  10. Bacon the Bard sighed. "I can't take you to Erif. Or Nogard. Or anywhere near them, really. Too much of a risk."
  11. Nogard was quite flummoxed by this. "Well... salmon. I guess we won't be able to ask your wizard friends about the Great Wizard then." The Bacon Bard coughed. "Yeah. Uh. About that."
  12. "Well," interjected Bacon the Bard. "Guess I won't need this, then." He released a giant inflatable whoopee cushion and it flew off into the air like a flatulent balloon. "How do you talk to people who are far away, then?"
  13. "A... phone. You use it to talk to people who are far away... have you really not seen a phone before?" "Excuse me," said Selppaenip to the very ordinary interruption. "In a moment." He turned to ... . "What is it, Master? You seem disturbed."
  14. All of a sudden, the ground gave way. The castle gave one last mighty groan, the last pillars holding it up collapsing.
  15. There wasn't much ground to stand on left. The pillars of the castle were beginning to crumble, threatening to drop the whole building into the basement. Nogard blinked. "Er... No. Like on a phone." He held up his own phone for emphasis.
  16. "Could you call them and ask them?" asked Nogard hopefully.
  17. "Oh. Right." Nogard coughed. "Well, do you think any of them might know the Great Wizard?" "She went back to get her weasel," called Bacon the Bard. "Odd. I thought she hated the poor animal." There was a loud crack as the ground gave way nearby, crashing through the floors beneath. The castle shook more violently than ever.
  18. "You do?" Nogard perked up. "Are any of them the Great Wizard?"
  19. "Well... That's what we're trying to figure out, I guess. Zanitar and the OA are sort of in charge, but they haven't decided anything yet. I think maybe going after the Great Wizard is the way to go, but I have no idea how we would do that. I mean, I barely know any wizards!" Stone began to tumble down from the upper floors. Stones crashed down around her as she ascended. By the time she got to the floor where the library had once been, the ceiling was totally gone. Dangerous cracks ran through the floor, threatening to crumble with every step. And everything continued to shake.
  20. "He's a member of the Brave Adventurers," explained Nogard. "Apparently he knows something about two new Plotblades that could potentially cause a lot of destruction if they were brought together. The leader guy of the BA was accusing him of acting shady, but his accusation was also kind of shady. Bottom line: we're not totally sure what's going on." "Or, you know. Think it. I'm a Narrator, I'll pick it up." "You're welcome," called Bacon the Bard, floating along behind them. The ground began to shake, the sound of stone cracking filling the air.
  21. "I've been watching your story with interest," continued Bacon the Bard. "Tell me. Why is it that you didn't speak? I'm dying to know." Nogard sighed. "Well. I don't suppose you know where the Great Wizard lives, do you?" "Whatever could you mean? You don't even know that the building is collapsing yet!"
  22. Nogard scratched his head. "Huh. I mean, my best friend doesn't talk at all. But even so, he isn't exactly not talkative. I don't know. It's difficult to explain." "In the flesh! Say, why didn't you tell me your bunny friend was hanging out with one of Onyx's characters? I could have gotten in serious trouble!" "Greetings, Shoe!" said Bacon the Bard to Shoe. "It's nice to meet you. "
  23. "Oh," said Nogard awkwardly. He shifted his feet. "You don't seem that talkative", he admitted. "Phew!" said Bacon the Bard behind Beosta. "That was a close one!" Nogard perked up when the group returned. "Did you find the book?" Then he frowned. "Wait, where's Shoe?"
  24. "Huh," said Nogard. "I think... I think I get what you're saying." He stood in silence for a moment, pondering. "Er," he said. "I'm not bothering you, am I?" Erif ironpulled everyone to him. "That's it," he said. "We're leaving." WIth that, the group teleported back to the mountain.
  25. Nogard blinked. "Nothing at all? Do you live alone in an empty void?"
