Great episode! I liked the discussion about the specialized mandras that bond with Larkin, I thought your idea Chaos about the mandras in Aimia possibly being unique due to the unique perception of the Siah and Dysian Aimians was interesting. I think there might be a more direct link, with mandras being known as luck spren and Siah Aimian's suffering from the Curse of Kind. Seems like a sort of balance is being reached with one population having a bit of extra luck, and the other being painfully deficient. It's pretty interesting to have a whole species of shclimazels, it was just a matter of time until something bad happened to Aimia. A couple ideas about the traitorous three (sounds like a Tarantino movie), there are a couple of ways that they could be considered traitors that aren't necessarily abandonment of the defense of the Dawnshard. They could be an opposition faction that rejects the authority of the First and has a different vision for what the Sleepless should be doing to protect the Dawnshard, or they could be traitors in the most obvious sense and are actually working with Team Odium. It's a total martyr plot, but if they keep the knowledge of the Dawnshard from Odium, then his solution for bumping off Cultivation by destroying Roshar would be a pretty final end to their mission of protecting the Cosmere from the Dawnshard. This traitorous faction could see the plural s in protecting Worlds from the destructive power of the Dawnshard as their primary objective.

The Nature of the Dawnshard
Hoiditthroughthegrapevine replied to Argent's topic in Cosmere Discussion
In thinking about this more, I think we should really try to figure out what the implications would be if the mural is depicting just the Dawnshards. At the time of the Shattering Andonalsium had divested himself of the will of creation, the 4 protean Commands that he had used to create all things. These were given to his creations in order for them to understand the nature of the world, and as seems a prime directive of his act of creation, to better understand themselves. These first 4 Dawnshards were used to shatter Adonalsium, allowing mortals to take up the pieces of divinity, again this seems like an analytical process for understanding. So what if the 4 protean Commands were likewise split into 16, and the mural is just showing the Dawnshards and has nothing to do with the deity bestowing Intents? Maybe this is what the Shattering really was, simply the breaking of the links between the Commands and Intents and Adonalsium's relinquishing of control of the Commands and Intents. The fact that Adonalsium voluntarily gave up the four primary Commands himself means that he was in effect sacrificing himself so that his creations could gain more self knowledge through greater experience. This is sounding an awful lot like the religion of the Iriali, which leads me to further speculation that though Adonalsium is Shattered he still remains, and all he has done is relinquish agency in the unfolding of events in his creation. Maybe this is how you solve the Freewill dilemma. Digression aside, if the mural is showing that the 4 protean Commands have themselves been split into 4 encompassed Commands (constituent components or thematically linked) , then the Cosmere is actually quite a bit more interesting. There is some in book evidence that this might be the case, there are the two strange commands before the Command: These seem to be qualifying the pathway to a specific type of change, one based on acceptance and self knowledge. And then further, the same internal voice tells Rysn something that helps her realize what kind of CHANGE specifically the Dawnshard she has is: The epiphany: There is a very compelling case to be made that the Dawnshard Rysn has become is not change en toto, but rather a specific type of Change, namely Self Transformation, or if it can be cut up like this Positive Change along a moral dimension. This is very reminiscent of the Illumination (some would say Spiritual illumination) that Renarin used on Adolin and one other person (you know who I'm talking about Row preview chapter readers), and that Shallan used on Gaz and Vathah's men, a view of how they could be if they answered the internal call to be better. This is like the first of the two lowercase commands, know it. Whether the one who experiences this spiritual illumination accepts it and Changes is up to them. Which makes me wonder, if Rysn's Dawnshard is a Command to Change, the only part of this process that she can probably force is the know it, otherwise her power is just some supercharged sanctimonious for of compulsion. The other underexamined idea regarding the Dawnshards is that if there are truly only Four of them in total, then I think they would have to encompass their opposites as well. Like the Dawnshard we know about for certain Change, it should also encompass its antithesis as well, namely Stasis, because how can you control the magnitude of Change without the ability to stop change all together. The ability to control the Positive implies an ability to control the negative as well. I will leave the further speculating about what the other 15 Dawnshard Commands could be or what the 4 Commands and their opposites are to y'all, because I have spent too much time trying to read all of the Dawnshard threads in the run up to the Row release. My wife is already using her grumbly voice when she talks about Brandon Sanderson, and I'm afraid that's only going to get worse as I get sucked into the Rhythm of War. -

Anyone else reminded of another mural?
Hoiditthroughthegrapevine replied to mdross81's topic in Cosmere Discussion
@mdross81, great theory overall, but the one problem I see with it is that Kelsier seemed to be influenced/guided by the command SURVIVE before even he was killed by the Lord Ruler. I don't have the ebooks for the mistborn books, so I'll leave the analysis to the rest of you crazily talented vetters of theories, but I just want to throw this out there. Leras might have hidden the Dawnshard in something that symbolized what he wanted to survive, something beautiful and worth preserving. He might have hidden the Dawnshard in the drawing of a flower that was one of the only artifacts that survived from the ancient Larastian religion (kind of sounds like Leras, right), that was special to Mare and gave her hope, and that Kelsier always kept close to himself. Kelsier, the Survivor who reforged himself as the fullborn demigod The Sovereign, might have divested himself of the Dawnshard and put it into that metal disk with the strange writing around it in the Sovereign's temple. They might have missed the true treasure in that temple when they just took the Bands of Mourning. Ironic right? -
Thoughts on Cord’s new plate
Hoiditthroughthegrapevine replied to gremlin303's topic in Stormlight Archive
This is interestng speculation, but the one problem I see with this theory is that the plate Cord aquires has been modified to be powered by gems. Correct me if I'm wrong, but honorblades don't have gems, and if this was honor plate it's seems strange to me that it would have the same fabrial like modifications that dead radiant plate has to make it functional. Here's a WoB that shows one of the clearest differences between honorblades and shardblades, namely that a bonded honorblade when dropped remains a physical blade: -

I finally have time to go through all the Dawnshard threads, and it's funny because I was just drawing with my daughter tonight, and I found myself thinking about the ways Adonalsium could have Shattered into 4's into 4's. Here are some variations I drew with roughly equivalent area shards. -
The Nature of the Dawnshard
Hoiditthroughthegrapevine replied to Argent's topic in Cosmere Discussion
OK, so this is a pretty sweet theory, but there is a bit of a preamble. Here's the last bit of Nikli's info dump about Dawnshards, and more interestingly Cord's response. Combined with this bit from earlier when Cord had tried to trick the sleepless into dueling her (emphasis added) . And this bit where Cord describes this pact between her people and the gods And finally this bit when the deal with the Sleepless is being concluded and Cord says this to Nikli to show that her pledge of secrecy can be trusted. So, after Nikli talks about the Dawnshards being used to shatter Adonalsium, it triggers Cord's memoriy of the ancient songs of when the Dawnshard came through Cultivatiion's perpindicularity. The Horneaters as a people have made pacts with the gods which specifically mention the millenia of "change" and Cord explicitly states that her people are the Guardians of Cultivation's perpendicularity. These items taken together heavily imply 3 things: Cultivation at the very least knew of the Dawnshard of Change coming to Roshar, and more likely was responsible for bringing it to Roshar. With her appointed Guardians of her perpendicularity having made treaties with the gods (most likely spren) that include provisions for the millenia of "Change", Cultivation was aware that the Dawnshard of Change would once again have a vessel. Having most likely brought the Dawnshard of Change to Roshar and having likewise made plans for when it was picked up by a mortal vessel, it is highly probable that Rysn was picked by Cultivation to be that vessel and guided to the Dawnshard. If Cultivation brought the Dawnshard to Roshar, it is very likely that she also made sure it was protected. I think the mega fauna of Roshar are in the purview of Cultivation's magic, and Rysn was given Chiri-Chiri at the bequest of the Reishi island great shell after showing great courage and devotion to her Babsk. Nikli says a couple of times that the Dawnshard is not alive, yet Rysn hears a voice in her head, leading her to the Dawnshard and finally asking her if she accepts it. I think this is Cultivation speaking directly in her mind. This is a super long preamble to show that I think we have a pretty clear instance of a shard maneuvering a Dawnshard onto their planet and then selecting a vessel to take up the Dawnshard. I think this is the second instance of this that we have seen, and I think the Dawnshard that isn't like any other shard is unlike the others because it wasn't taken up by a mortal vessel, it is in fact the Dawnshard for "DESTROY" and it was taken up by a class IV Biochromatic entity with the intent to "Destroy Evil". This bit that Nikli says about Dawnshards is interesting, if you substitute the word breaths for the word breadth you are essentially describing Vasher with the 10,000 breaths necessary to create an awakened sword. I believe that Nightblood was created according to Endowment's plan to neutralize the most dangerous Dawnshard. The cost to use Nightblood is terrible, those who consider themselves evil kill themselves with Nightblood, Nightblood is functionally immortal and quite possibly impossible to kill. That's 4 levels of fail safes for the single most dangerous Command (and probably the Command that was used to splinter Andonalsium). -
Awakening - The Cartoon Art

How'd it go, any peace for your toes? My cat attacks my toes when she wants her temptations, that's serious stuff though, you don't want to run out of temptations at our house. Of course, I gotcha covered. Ahh, the life of an Awakened artist. He was totally napping the whole time the canvas was painting itself. -
Not necessarily, I believe that we really have a case of nested reference frames. The spren is a cognitive entity in and of itself. I believe that the innate orientation of the conjoiner ruby is set at the time of it's creation, it has a front and a back and a top and a bottom. This is because the piece of spren trapped in the ruby has it's own local understanding of 3 dimensional space, along the lines of this is in front of me, this is above me, this is to left of me, etc. When the conjoiner is used, the operator of the spanreed likewise has a cognitive level understanding of their local 3 dimensional space and further knows where the ruby housing the spren is in relation to their local frame of reference (even though this is most likely a subconscious and intuitive understanding). The magic I believe comes in bridging these two local coordinate systems and translating the relative motion of the ruby to the paired conjoiner's local coordinate system. I think @Oltux72 brings up some good points, but I think I have a subtley different view of how this is working. I think in both instances of the curtain experiment (Case 1: the one where the spanreed operators are facing each other so that the apparent motions of each spanreed would seem to be reversed to an observer watching from the sidelines, and Case 2: the one where the spanreed writer is on an platform that rotates imperceptibly 90 degrees as they are writing while the spanreed that is receiving the communication is on a stationary platform) that there would be no jumping of spanreeds or any attempted after the fact correction when the curtain is raised (or collapse as you called it) . I think in both cases the spanreeds would work while the curtain is down, and I think both would work as well after the curtain was raised in both cases, as long as the spanreed operators see that the conjoined spanreed's relative orientation matches their own spanreed's relative orientation and that their is no motion that affects only 1 reference frame. If in Case 2 though, if the curtains were raised while the platform was still rotating and the spanreed operator on the rotating platform was still writing, I think that this would cause a breakdown of the cognitive reference frame and that the receiving conjoined spanreed would behave erratically (as it's stated in text happens when someone attempts to use spanreeds on a moving vessel). I think the explanation for this is simple, conjoining spanreeds can only accommodate 2 levels of nested reference frames, because there are only two cognitive entities involved in the operation of the spanreed, each with their own subjective reference frame. I think this explanation for how conjoiners work is (Dawnshard Spoiler)
-
Nope, I'm arguing that the magic portion of conjoiners handles the specifics of translation between the two relative coordinate systems, and that conscious knowledge that one of the relative coordinate systems is moving can break the cognitive framework that accomplishes this translation. The absolute motions of each relative framework have to be screened out as part of the magical translation of motion between relative coordinate systems. Like in this example where you have a spanreed setup on the top floor of Urithiru that is communicating with a spanreed at sea level in Thaylen city (this has happened in the OB so we know this works), if the y axis for both spanreeds is normal to gravity, the entire spanreed setup on top of Urithiru moves substantially more along the x and z axes due to the rotation of Roshar than the sea level Thaylen City spanreed. Let's say for the purposes of simplifying the calculation that both the Urithiru spanreed (A) and the Thaylen city spanreed (B) are setup so that their x axes are aligned with the rotation of Roshar. The plateau on which Urithiru is located is above the highstorm and everstorm storm walls so let's use, as a rough estimate, a height for the plateau of 6 km (which is slightly lower than the height of Denali, the 3rd tallest mountain on earth), and the highest floor in Urithiru is 818.4 m (2,685 ft according to the coppermind) higher than the base of the tower. Roshar has a radius of 5,663 km and a rotational period of 20 rosharan hours, so spanreed B in Thaylen city at sea level would travel an arc of 1,780 km in the x direction in one rosharan hour. Spanreed A, at height of 6.8 km above sea level would travel an arc of 1782 km in the x direction in one rosharan hour. In one Rosharan hour spanreed A moves 2 more km in the x direction than spanreed B! Using your calculation from your blog, 1 Rosharan hour =. 964 earth hours, so spanreed A would move 1.92 km more in an earth hour than spanreed B. That would mean that something has to be correcting for a displacement difference of. 54 m/s in the x axis for spanreed communication between the tallest point in Roshar to the lowest point on Roshar to work. It would definitely be noticeable if the spanreed pen was drifting 1.8 ft along the x axis every second. The answer is, I think, that each relative reference frame is like a box, and a cognitive framework is necessary to link the two relative reference frames together. The cognitive framework is made of the two conjoined spren (responsible for movement within each respective relative reference frame) the spanreed operators (responsible for defining the relative reference frame (this is done largely subconsciously)) , and the stormlight investiture which combines all of these together. There is this telling bit from Dawnshard, which I think directly confirms this view, No, this is different, the curtain method relies on the operator to be unaware that their relative reference frame has been shifted. I believe all conjoiners have an innate orientation, the aluminum in Navani's hand pulling fabrial is shielding the operator's portion of the cognitive framework that defines the relative reference frame in respect to all axes other than the one that has been isolated to translate force across. Then the 1 dimensional translation would be based solely on the innate orientation of the fabrials. Positive force applied along the innate x axis of one conjoiners translates to positive force along the innate x axis of the other. So in a lot of ways, as you would expect with aluminum's ability to block certain aspects of the magic, the system is much simpler.

Amazing Yet Stupid Things to Do With Breath
Hoiditthroughthegrapevine replied to Karger's topic in Warbreaker
Using Peacegiver the Blessed's treasure of breaths to spread Veganism throughout the Cosmere by creating an army of Awakened Vegetables. Skirmishers: Awakened rutabagas wielding celery bows (the xylem fibers used as bowstring) firing dried enoki mushroom arrows. Heavy Infantry: Awakened Eggplants armored in plate mail made from the bracts of artichokes, wielding asparagus spears. Heavy Cavalry: Awakened cruxiate vegetable knights (broccoli and cauliflower) armed with carrot lances mounted on awakened horseradishes. Shock troops: Awakened flowers from The Devil's Hand tree, riding atop awakened Bhudda's Hand Citron fruits throwing age cured hard and spikey rambutan fruit. Kind of like Hannibal's elephants, omnivores won't know what hit 'em. Pictures of the components of the shock troops spoilered below. -
Until this chapter I hadn't been enjoying Row very much, it was shaping up to be my least favorite SLA book. But this chapter was SO GOOD! I think the first 17 chapters suffered a bit from the after the fact wrap up of the phantom book that never was that occurred during the time skip after OB. The revelations (though small) in this chapter were natural and folded into the narrative, and it was nice to see again how incredibly sweet and thoughtful Kaladin is. I was getting nervous just like Kal, waiting to see what Lirin's reaction to their new quarters and his new surgery setup would be. And I got a little choked up when the smile finally broke on Lirin's face. The banter between Lirin, Hessina, Kal and Syl was prosaic and adorable. And I really like how the chapter opened with Kal thinking about Rock looking at the mountains and the snow. Sheesh, what a romantic. I think that the preview chapters were harder to read this time around because the RoW cliffhangers are more emotional and character driven, while the cliffhangers in OB were more action oriented. I think these chapters would probably work really well, reading them like a normal storm light book. Continously, back to back, stopping only to go to the bathroom and very occasionally when the stomach grumbling gets too loud to fix something quick to eat that can be ingested while still reading. Sleep, not until it's finished. Journey before Somnulation. This chapter has gotten me super excited for November 17th!!!

The wildfires are contained, the rains have rolled in (kinda) and the Mushrooms are starting to pop up. We got Bleeding milk caps for the first time this year (the pretty mushrooms in the lower left) and they were delicious! We got a very pretty lobster mushroom, some white chantrelles, and some golden chantrelles too. Fall is the best!

Here's a couple of ideas, some of them more out there than others. With Shallan's map, Dalinar is using the power of his Connection to the land and the vision of the Stotmfather to suffused Shallan's lightweaving. My guess is that other super charged augmentations will likewise have something to do with Connection. Super Charged Elsecalling: I believe we might see this in RoW, with Jasnah and Dalinar both being manipulated out of the tower to the frontlines of battle in Emul, Dalinar might be able to use his bondsmith powers to increase the connection between Jasnah and a large group of troops to enable them to teleport back to the tower. We know at least that Elsecallers were historically able to take people with them into the Cognitive realm, and if the surge of transportation works anything like teleportation, I think it would be a reasonable extension of the surge with Dalinar's Connection enhancements to teleport a large group of troops. Windrunning Squire Voltron (or for Malazan fans, D'ivers): We know from the marketing blurb about RoW that there's going to be a fabrial arms race, at that the 4th Bridge is an early prototype flying ship. My guess is that by the end of RoW larger, better flying war machines are going to be employed by both sides. One powerful and possible application of Dalinar's super charged Connection augmentation of thr surge of Adhesion combing with a squad leading 3rd ideal Windrunner and their group of squires also using their surges of adhesion, could be the corporeal fusing of the Windrunner and their squires into a flying super entity capable of ramming through enemy flying ships. For the non malazan spoiler analogy this would be like Voltron fusing, but the better analogy that has spoilers for Malazan Memories of Ice this would be like: Super Charged Sanitarium using Progression: Dalinar augmenting an Edgedancer's surge of progression to heal everyone in a field hospital. Could possibly work with a Truthwatcher, but most likely with an Edgedancer. Lightweaver army of Dust and Air: Like Shallan's phantom army suffused with Soulcast substance, Dalinar augmenting this powerful combo could probably help create a literal army of Dust and Air, the shape and function of the this nightmare army only limited by the Lightweavers imagination. Flying chasmfiends made of fire, the ground itself seeming to erupt in a whirlwind of flashing teeth, etc, etc.

Voidbinding Theory/Thoughts
Hoiditthroughthegrapevine replied to Criggleworth's topic in Stormlight Archive
Ulim is the red spren, and red is sometimes (but not always) a sign of corrupted investiture. So I think Quantus' point stands for Ulim but not for Yixli, namely: The colors associated with Odium are red and yellow-gold according to WoB, and hyperviolet by descriptions in text. Odium can change his form, when he appears to Venli he looks like an ancient Singer, but when he appears to Dalinar he looks like a wizened Shin man. I think it's an important detail because he could have appeared to have Alethi features, but instead, like the spren Yixil, he looks like a Shin. This leads me to believe that Yixil, who is yellow gold and looks Shin like Odium, is more purely of Odium, and if there is an Odious analogue to the Nahel bond it will involve spren like Yixil. It would be a pretty sweet power-up for the villain that everybody loves to hate, Moash, that if in addition to wielding the Windrunner honorblade he also bonded an Odious spren and got access to two voidbinding surges. The honorblade gives him the power to fuel his windrunning with Stormlight, we know from the post Jezrien stabbing scene that he can fuel his lashings with voidlight as well. If he were to get access to direct Voidbinding, I wonder if he could likewise use either stormlight or voidlight to fuel it. -

Granted. You awaken 50 years later from a magically induced coma and find that the particular strain of the cold that you were suffering from has been completely eradicated due to major advances in genomics. You also find that due to major advances in genomics humans can freely edit their chromosomes to achieve extreme designer hybridization to look like almost any combination of human/animal hybrid imaginable, and also that Neo-Neo-Classicism is all the rage. You faint when you see your doctor enter and tell you that he needs to give you another vaccination. I wish I had shoes with soles made of flubber. -
What is Zahel's Intent?
Hoiditthroughthegrapevine replied to dgreene196's topic in Cosmere Discussion
This is a very interesting question, we know that Warbreaker is a necessary prequel to the events of the Stormlight Archives, and I always kind of assumed that it was because Nightblood was going to be a major factor in the denouement of the war against Odium. But, more interesting is the thought that maybe the necessity of Warbreaker preceding SLA is that Vasher needs to be on Roshar to fulfill his Divine Intent. We know that Endowment's symbolic number is 5, the tears of edgli is a 5 petaled flower, there were 5 Scholars, and more interestingly that Austrism, the theological teachings of the first Returned Vo, had 5 Visions promoting the virtues of patience, humility, sacrifice, selflessness, and understanding. The two known instances of Returned giving away their Divine breaths and fulfilling their Divine Intents that we know about are (Warbreaker spoilers) There is a pattern in the known cases, namely that the Returned Intents seem to map to the virtues of the 5 Visions, and I think the name that the Cult of the Returned gave Vasher is a big hint as to what the Divine Intent he Returned to fulfill was, Warbreaker the Peaceful. With his nature being that of a Scholar, the Vision (or virtue) that is driving his Intent is likely to be understanding, and the application of that Intent will be using his understanding to stop the war on Roshar. The specifics of how this would play out are just speculation, but one of the main attributes of a gifted Divine breath is its ability to heal. One possible scenario would be that he gives his divine breath to Kaladin during the contest of Champions after it looks like Kaladin has been mortally wounded. That seems a bit mundane, but I really like the idea of Vasher's purpose for returning being the ending of the cycle of Desolations on Roshar.- 21 replies

You tripped the swear word filter, it's not a big deal. It usually happens if swear words are attempted with asterisks in place of letters. Like an a with a couple of asterisks. It's an automated process, no hammer is coming down. I liked your LOTR parallel a lot by the way, fun stuff.

Gavilar's Sphere and Refined Investiture
Hoiditthroughthegrapevine replied to Pagerunner's topic in Cosmere Discussion
This is a very interesting theory, and the idea of Investiture refinement making it a universally usable and transportable source of power is very intriguing. If this is the case, that the black sphere that Gavilar gave to Szeth contains some type of advanced refined form of investiture that Gavilar was worried would fall into Restares' or Thaidakar's hands, it implies that the secret of the refinement should be evident from the sphere itself, or that the secret of the refinement could be reverse engineered from the sphere. This leads me to the speculation that the secret might be as simple as the black sphere is just aperfect gem infused with the 3 flavors of investiture on Roshar, namely Voidlight, Stormlight, and Cultivationlight (or maybe just Voidlight and Stormlight). We've gotten hints in the preview chapters (including the Syl Interlude so the rest of this thought is spoilered) My guess is that refining Investiture means combining Investiture to get a form closer to the original state of Investiture, pre-shattering. This would explain Mraize's trophy case and Hoid's quest for invested arts, possibly by combining multiple forms of Investiture the geographic Connection of each flavor of Investiture is weakened. Maybe the stepped advances in transport distance of the spheres that Gavilar talks about were due to infusing the perfect sphere with Voidlight and Stormlight, and the final refinement, allowing the sphere to be taken even further was the additional infusion of Cultivationlight. The fact that Rlain hears a strange song from the sphere that is out of synch with his soul might be the effect of the various spins of investiture fighting against each other. The only times we've seen noticeable warping effects are when heavily invested entities are present (Nightblood, the God King, and maybe I'm misrembering this but I don't have the OB ebook, when Dalinar combined the 3 realms). This would imply that the sphere is heavily infused with Investiture. And further might be a hint at the means of achieving this, through the powers unique to the Bondsmiths. This is a lot of conjecture to be sure, but the fact that Gavilar had access to Voidlight at all implies that he was working with one of the two entities known to be capable of supplying it, either Odium or BAM. Out of the two, I'm inclined to think he was working with BAM, and that she somehow used her Bondsmith-like power of Connection to enable the overloading of the black sphere. Possibly it was a perfect gem that first was infused with Stormlight that she then infused with Voidlight. If BAM was instrumental in hyper-infusing the black sphere it would also explain the Ghostbloods' interest in the Unmade. Perhaps the investigations into Re-Shephir, and Sja-Anat are preliminary investigations to aquire the skills necessary to control possibly the most valuable of the Unmade, namely BAM. First you get the spheres, then you get the Unmade, and then you get the power. -
We know from Navani's Ted talks about fabrials that she is aware of the Investiture shielding properties of Aluminum, and that she has used Aluminum in the construction of the Fourth Bridge. Like @Harrycrapper and @Bzhydack mentioned, the logical solution is to use Aluminum to hide the Kings Drop. Place the Kings Drop in the center of a 6' cube of tallow, soulcast the tallow into aluminum, take the 6x6x6 cube of Aluminum to an undisclosed location as far out as possible in the Endless Ocean and drop the encased Kings Drop. Then listen to the Thrill is gone by BB King. Simple. If the aluminum cube is housed in a conveyance that could support its weight, a Dalinar supercharged Windrunner following the trailing edge of a Highstorm could get it so far out into the ocean as to effectively remove all chance of recovery. *Edit* Just did some calculations, the density of Aluminum is 2.7 g/cm^3, so a 6' cube of Aluminum would have a mass of 16,514 kg. Which, accounting for Roshar's reduced gravity at .7 earth gravity, would weigh 12.74 tons. Probably would be best to hedge your bets and tweak Odium's nose a bit and make the Aluminum cube 9x9x9 feet, giving a Rosharan adjusted weight of 43 tons. That wouldn't be going anywhere anytime soon.

50-word Fiction
Hoiditthroughthegrapevine replied to Quitecontrary's topic in Forum Games & Random Stuff
The Caper Caper In the misty swirling vapor the landscaper held a paper which story told with headline bold of a most intriguing caper. 'Twas about a draper and a japer who scaled a skyscraper thronged with throngs of gaping gapers to steal most delicious capers using naught but icescrapers.
