  1. But, but... This is about the audio book, right? They're talking about people listening to it...
  2. I suppose you mean another bondsmith? I'd actually say that with Dalinar he'd have the most chance, as the Stormfather could probably give them an extra nudge.
  3. Parshendi aren't even mentioned in that quote?
  4. Maybe a bit late now (lol), but I immediately thought: Celebrate a day early! Edit to avoid double post: What is the exact time the discussion on the forum is opened? I already got some threads ready to post...
  5. Yes, I am aware. However, considering that "marrying with age difference" does not come up again like, anywhere in relation to Kaladin and lighteyes, it is safe to say that it is not a part of the plot arc, as otherwise he'd have remembered those words and either see proof of it (justified or not) or realize that they weren't actually true. Also, you missed the more important part of my post, where I wasn't referring to writing style, but rather to what we know from the books.
  6. Or maybe we haven't actually see that many examples... We have Dalinar/Gavilar + Navani, Torol + Ialai, Roshone + Laral (which, for the record, very much is an example of this), Dalinar + Evi (which may or may not be an example) and... yeah, you got any more? We've really only seen very few couples, actually. Most lighteyes we see we don't even know wheter or not they're married, because their role isn't big enough. Most of the highprinces are probably married, yet of how many do we know the wife? And that still leaves that the highprinces might be less likely to do so because they don't need to worry about their influence like more minor lighteyes. I also very much doubt Brandon would spread misinformation that does not have a purpose in the plot, and the comment from Hesina very much seems to not be all that important.
  7. A bit of nitpicking here, but that is not actually what chemical resonance means. When you have a molecule with a double bond, in some cases there are two places this double bond can form. This then forms a resonance where sometimes, one place has the double bond, and sometimes the other. Additionally, it also works this way with, say, an acid (typically simplified to a double-bonded oxygen atom and an alcohol group on the same carbon atom) where the double bond and the hydrogen switch oxygen atoms all the time. /nitpicking I very much agree that we're talking about different kinds of resonances though, but that's mostly because resonance can simply be used in a variety of meanings, and just because two things are both called "resonance" doesn't mean they're similar. Just like the word "bank", for example. River bank, bank where you save your money, etc. (example blatantly stolen from Wikipedia btw) EDIT: Also blatantly stealing an example of chemical resonance from Wikipedia:
  8. One problem. Honor has only been shattered after the Recreance: https://wob.coppermind.net/events/76-shadows-of-self-chicago-signing/#e6174
  9. Why would she have 3 letters in her Roshar name?
  10. She probably wouldn't mind. Radiant might, though.
  11. Little did they know, I've been shipping Shallan/Jasnah all along.
  12. Well, we do have WoB that Shallan is bisexual, and for all we know, Jasnah might be as well...
  13. You go wrong at the part where you think it's easy to cut someone in half. Hint: it's not.
  14. There's symmetry to the crystal structures of the allomantic metals, it would have to replace either Tin, Copper, Aluminium or Gold, which are all good fits as metals that have been known for a long time, except aluminium (which fits better with Brandon's goal of not having it be known except by the LR and his lackeys). The other four metals have different structures than silver has, and therefore wouldn't fit at all. Interestingly enough, by 'fixing' this mistakes, Brandon made another mistake, as Tin (as I mentioned above) does indeed have the correct crystal structure... but only below 13 degrees C. Above that, it has a different crystal structure and breaks the correct symmetry. He should've just replaced Pewter and left Silver in, I guess... How do we know there is no relationship between magnetism and steel/iron allomancy? I personally believe that magnetism (or more generally, electromagnetic force) is related directly to the basis of the Cosmere, and would therefore be one of the 'easiest' ways to let out Investiture and get stuff done. At the very least I accidentally explained it when writing that theory in my signature, though of course I'm aiming pretty high with it and it might just be plain wrong.
  15. I like the things you could do with it, but I don't know if I like it as a part of Adonalsium... On the other hand, I suppose you need to have quite some ingenuity to be able to create whatever you want to create as a god.
  16. Connection could simply be that they're both Shards and have once been part of Adonalsium. Easy enough to wiggle there for Brandon. Also, Autonomy is from... White Sand? I believe? I haven't read that yet... Do we see much of Autonomy or do we mostly know stuff about him/her from WoBs and stuff?
  17. This is your chance! Now you can ask a cross-over question that isn't pure speculation.
  18. This I could get into. I don't think anyone of these would willingly become Odium's champion, as I argued before, but I could see Dalinar causing a lot of destruction this way while thinking he's doing what he can to fight Odium.
  19. It just needs to be more recent than the Recreance, right? That would mean it might be anywhere in the last, like, two thousand years. There's quite a lot of knowledge that can be lost in 2000 years, and in our own history, up until a few hundred years ago, the only way that knowledge really was passed down over many generations was through theological teachings, which might just be the reason that we even know about the Recreance still.
  20. Except... Shardblades are a manifestation of spren, and therefore not made for something specific, even though they happen to be good at it?
  21. Would the Splintering of Honor have a specific place on Roshar where it happened? Because then I'd point at the center of the Shattered Plains. After all, there was a major city there at that time (Stormseat).
  22. Doesn't Mistborn 2 play shortly before or around the same time as Stormlight Archive though? That would mean that Odium would still be stuck on Roshar. And even if not... If it were to be Odium post-Stormlight Archive, that in itself would be a major spoiler for Stormlight Archive, as apparently Odium is still whole and managed to free himself from Roshar. So, I very much doubt it would be Odium. There's no way we wouldn't be able to figure that out after The Lost Metal or maybe, maybe MB3, which I'm pretty sure will be released before Stormlight is finished.
  23. In the Wheel of Time, the Dragon Reborn is seen as someone who will destroy the world, and yet he's the savior. Even when not counting that Brandon Sanderson got a lot of inspiration from the Wheel of Time, it is still not much of a stretch that something similar will be at work here, where a person at the "good" side still causes a lot of suffering for the world. One could even argue that Dalinar pressing the Vengeance Pact is what caused the Desolation, as otherwise the Parshendi might not have tried out Stormform at all, let alone get everyone to take it up.
