    Isn't Honor's Shattering a very recent event though? I can't find any WoB on it, but someone in a recent thread (I believe on this subforum) argued that it might be as little as a few decades ago, in which case people would know that certain spren had become more common. Apart from that, there's going to be more information further on in the book about how common spren are (or not) and why.

    If only... But maybe the Connection can increase. I think that he got some Connection with her due to being in Shadesmar together, but I also think that if there is some Connection, that Connection can be used to get more Connection.

    It's not that easy, because Honor is shattered. But yeah, probably a good idea to read Oathbringer first. It's about Dalinar, after all.

    We've got direct proof that different Orders use Surges differently though: the Stormfather at some point tells Dalinar, when he sees a Stoneward using Tension, that Dalinar can use that Surge too, but in a different way. So we don't know wheter there'll be any actual overlap.

    Neither do I, but I feel like Brandon's just being too blunt with it otherwise. He just throws it in your face time and time again that Shallan and Kaladin (I actually wrote Kadolin LOL new ship incoming) like each other. I don't think he'd do that if he wanted to establish tension between Adolin and Kaladin over it. He'd be more subtle. (also, this board is sooooo quiet today lol... everyone's reading)

    To be fair I personally believe Brandon was teasing Shalladin just to troll the readers. Or maybe Shallan figures out how to literally split off Veil so that she's a seperate physical being and then Veil hooks up with Kaladin.

    The problem here is that "adhesion", as it is used scientifically in our world, refers specifically to different compounds sticking together because of microscopic interactions, most often the forming of chemical bonds. And only that. Brandon just chose a very bad name for the Surge. I realize "Pressure" sounds less poetic, but it is a much, much better name. I suspect something similar to be the case for Tension and Cohesion, two other well-defined chemical terms, but we haven't seen enough about those yet to know for sure.

    This was my train of thought for a while too, but it seems like "adhesion" is just a super bad name for the Surge, and it does actually work with pressure. I believe there's even a WoB on it, though I'm not sure.

    There's a difference between sleeping and falling unconscious though. That being said, I don't have the book here and I've only read the scene once, so maybe it does imply she never slept; I don't know.

    That doesn't mean he isn't getting groomed. Both the Shards still alive on Roshar are good at seeing the future. And while the Heralds were originally from Honor, Cultivation has participated a lot in the whole process as well.

    I know he doesn't have to be (I personally don't really care one way or another; I think both make for a good story), but the best fighter + the best combat Surge would allow for even more awesome fighting, no matter how you put it.

    Ah yes... Thanks. And if I remember correctly also the Dalinar flashback that we've all been waiting for/dreading, the one that makes Kadash join the ardentia? And now I don't have time to write my thoughts lol... I'll probably do so later today.

    This is indeed something that I think will also matter. In a way, Adolin has always regarded his Blade as a being. Let's be real though - Adolin, the best duelist and one of the best fighters alive, now with Abrasion and superhealing abilities. How amazing would that be? He'd defeat full armies on his own.

    Happy Oathbringer day! Am already busy theorizing as one of the lucky people that got the book early! Sure am gonna start a reread before the year is over, as soon as I've finished reading other Cosmere stuff.
