  1. Had you just been watching Cats, the Musical? XD
  2. As I understand it, there are plenty of men who are feminists. "Feminism, the belief in social, economic, and political equality of the sexes."
  3. I didn't have any trouble. Perhaps there's a problem with your email provider somehow. You could try making a gmail account for the newsletters, see if they go through there. You could also forward mail from gmail to your main account, perhaps that will solve whatever's going wrong. Edit: PS if you PM me your email, I could forward you the last couple of newsletter if you wanted, I don't think that's forbidden.
  4. Whoops, you gotta revert the thread title now Rhythm of War (Stormlight 4) copyediting review - 40%
  5. They've just updated the add-ons list. Here Updated: Order pack is now $40 and not $50 (the stickers, pins etc for a single chosen order) New: Novella and Swag for $50 - basically Tier 2, but without the poster Leatherbound and Swag for $200 - Tier 4 without the poster (to save on shipping fees, especially for international orders)
  6. What? All at once? :-O I'm up to Ghost Story. Slow reader. I expect I will probably have finished Peace Talks by the time Battle Ground comes out XD Then it's time for my stormlight re-read to resume!
  7. Looks like Brandon did another revision of that after Rhythm of War! Not sure how many revisions he expects to do in this collaborative format. Maybe it's not very far off done now :-O
  8. Probably not. They have a good idea that it came to us from bats, but probably not from eating them. The virus is apparently pretty versatile (see news reports of it being caught from humans by a bunch of different animal species that we don't normally share viruses with). There are a lot of ways it could have jumped from bats to people. (But they're not even certain it came from bats) Also, the photo of a woman eating a bat that was all over social media, it was from Palau, in Micronesia, in 2016.
  9. Yeah, spoiler for existing books, not for Rhythm of War
  10. And a MAJOR spoiler out of Karen's mouth for Words of Raciance (I think?) Oopsee
  11. I can't read those words without thinking of this movie Welcome, oh keeper of tomes.
  12. Yup, go to the front page of the kickstarter and scroll about 75% of the way down, you'll see this chart with prices. Keep in mind that there will be shipping added on, and we don't know how much.
  13. Yep, I think they're very likely to get publisher deals on it after the kickstarter. Might be a few more months wait though. With the kickstarter, you can back for $1 - no reward, and then pick Dawnshard as an Add-On for $15 + shipping. If the physical book is the only thing you're interested in.
  14. Hmm. Convince George Lucas in the late 90s that instead of making more Star Wars and redoing the originals, that he could . . . I dunno, open a puppy rescue or something. Anything else really!
  15. The weirdest dream I ever had, I was part of a group consciousness. When I woke up, I actually found it difficult to think of being just "me" instead of part of "we".
  16. I just bought the book. Nope, my above suggestion doesn't work because the epub uses two layers of images for each page. I have never seen THAT before in an epub. The pdf seems the more readable version. Not sure what the files in the Mac OS folder of the ZIP file are supposed to be. Edit: oh it's a MAC OS file organising thing. How annoying.
  17. Pros - if you put it somewhere it can be seen, visitors to your house (or people watching your youtube) might be impressed. -If you keep it in good condition (and don't read it), you might be able to sell it for a lot more in a decade's time. -It DOES have some pretty pictures. Cons - you can't read it without being very careful, or you might damage it. If I had one, I wouldn't want to read it without wearing gloves. - You definitely can't read it in bed, in the bathtub, or lug it around in your backpack to read at lunchtime. - You have to keep it in good condition for it to keep its value, and books are hard to keep in top condition: make sure there's no damp in the room, there's no direct sunlight to fade it (I wouldn't want one because there is no room in my house that is sunlight free and doesn't have condensation problems in winter). Don't jam it up against any other books on your shelf, or the foil could rub off on them. IMO it's a waste of money. A LOT of money.
  18. All I learned is that I really don't like people.
  19. Jim Butcher - Changes. Oh boy, and I thought the first page of the previous book was gripping. The first SENTENCE of this one is just :-O
  20. Do you want us to peel them for you? Which book did you like best?
  21. Well he's posted on Facebook and twatter that he's finished, so it's gonna update any time now . . . Any minute . . . now? There it is! 100% So . . . next up, Cosmere Novella progression bar thread?
