[But you'll still be around, right? (I'm kidding, you're doing a great job) -I think Drake's reads are partially grounded in an (irrational) suspicion of Kas and TUO after they poked him at the start of the cycle. -A few people called each other Cheaters. If any of them are right, they may be Honest. Everyone's been diligently softing useful information in their RP right? You're not just making this stuff up, right guys. Guys? >. < -I'd like to know if Fabian is a religious studies major. They didn't justify their poke, but I'm not sure how familiar they'd be with the concept, so I'd love to hear the train of thought that led to the vote. I accept that they forgot about the game, but would they have moved, had they been on? -Steel suggested a mass tie then retracted the suggestion because Kas wouldn't die. That's the main drawback... for the elim team. (Besides the potential for vote manip) -Is the opposite of a cat a mouse or a dog? Is the opposite of "I do not have any orders submited right now to use a sword on you" I do have it submitted on you? -Ignoring my role-read if Kas for a second, I can make a lovely two person team between him and Araris. Kas helped usher the village away from Araris after he'd attracted a lead's worth of votes. Interesting sidenote, depending if any kills get blocked, we may be able to gauge the elim team sized based on if the game ends when five people remain. That opens the door to hedge bets. -I kept reading Mat as sus on my thread crawl. He said Clever is a scummy role, which I think was partially based on him having it and being good, so he'd think the odds of whoever else has it being evil would be increased. He did the most rules analysis, so that could be threatening, but I'm wondering if the kill was submitted before the late round votes came in *cough looking at you, Araris*, because as the second vote on Elandera, he'd be a good mix candidate. -Kas only got to make the final call because no one was on to challenge him for the honor. That's a village problem. Kas switched with two minutes to go, so lurking TUO needed to be very on his game with cancelling his vote manip order, or he really just forgot to get on and self pres. I'm leaning towards the latter.]

[Well that's reassuring anyway.] "Yeehaw, that Captain fancying himself a kingmaker at the end and telling us so did seem like-a way to help any fellow cheaters dodge trouble. But it's a really small town, so it seems unlikely." [I draw the line at a solo exe of Kas. I think that sets us up for a 3v;3e cycle instead of a 4v;3e one. But tying him with a kill could be interesting, to get the weakened Thug and a flip in the same round. Actually it adds a round, but it still feels counter-intuitive. I haven't seen much to suggest we'll suddenly find a way to use our cards more effectively than we can in the position we are now. I do feel like they're being underused though, simply because I haven't seen any real discussion of them. Easy group discussion question: when should shardblades, RBs, and kill protects be used?] "And here you were saying me was the one who was distancing with that feller. Yeehaw, that's hypothesis! Hypothetical! Hippos!" [I have thoughts on this I will save for after I see Fab's response. But assuming at least one elim voted, Araris, Striker, Drake and Fab are on my radar. Araris keeps being the second vote on people, which is classic evil behaviour. Make your own wagons Araris]

Travis Rifleman stood up to stretch his legs. As he strode towards the bar to get another drink, he passed the two players who had left the table. He mouthed the word sorry at them. [Apologies, Elandera. I had you pegged as a low-impact opportunist elim.] Returning to his chair, his face was a mask of stoicism. “Well that weren’t very nice of y’all,” he drawled. “I don’t wanna spend the night in jail, so I ain’t gonna accuse our distinguished Captain here. I reckon he didn’t want to let you crooks get away with letting someone take the fall for your cheatin’. And I agree wit it.” [I was going to say that the lack of opposition to TUO’s death looked like elim apathy. The CW was all village, so I’m not sure how e!TUO planned to survive without his elim teammates casting some extremely obvious last-minute votes. My one holdup though is that his recent post implies he had a vote-manip card held in reserve and intended to use it. I was wondering why he didn’t cast a self preservation vote. I assumed it was because he was inactive during the time he became an exe candidate, but perhaps the elim doc was lurking, knowing they could have TUO self-pres if needed but hoping it wouldn’t be necessary.] Speaking of the Captain, Travis wondered why people had even bothered to accuse him. It would have been a bruising fight to wage. [I made a post explaining why I think that Kas is good that Fab wasn’t on to respond to; I’ll be interested in seeing if they regret their vote or stand by it. It feels like a safe vote to camp because Kas’ flip is delayed, so you can’t be sussed for it until two cycles have gone by. As for Drake, you get an upvote for that wonderfully backwards post, but the same criticisms apply. I’m choosing to see the liar playstyle as NAI, unless you’re using it to justify voting for the person you least suspect. That looks like an elim gimmick. Ties are only valid threats when they involve people who can’t tank the kill. And if you suspected Elandera, why didn’t you add your vote?] Travis began shuffling his cards as he tuned into the conversation. “You’re daft, old timer. I ain’t connected to nobody. That sleepyhead [Ashbringer] wasn’t getting killed anyway. It’s darn hard to accuse someone whose only said one thing. I find it suspicious, but I had to put that on hold to get some use outta the conversation.” On that note, he offered a discussion starter he was curious about. “How’d y’all feel about your card playing last round? Any surprises? Anyone have their hands stayed?” [Also, on mobile, only two of the thread tags showed up for me. So I thought Lotus had written ‘haha’ ‘dead’. ]

[Wow, that game sounds crazy. Who would ever play like that? I don't like the TUO exe. I thought it was pretty par for the course for TUO; they have a history of starting strong then pulling back from the crush. It seems more like an easy mix option. It doesn't help that two of my susses, Striker (doing it for the lolz) and Elandera (who I feel is playing differently this game than usual) are voting for them. It also doesn't help that I'd probably be okay with a Drake exe, but now that Striker mentioned it, it seems like a bad idea. Ashbringer never really responded to my vote, so I imagine he's a dead end. So I think I'm going to leave my vote where it is.] Travis began to babble incoherently. "Lone star! Cactuses! Cactae? Giant belt buckles!!" [I see that vote switch, Mat >. >]

"Ooooooo boondangle! I'm right glad you asked me that here question! You've been playing like an Ashbringer with more conviniently evil timing, that you have. You done been calling this game boring and hard to follow-ah, like an evil cowpoke feigning disinterest. And then wee-rabbits y'all snake in my boot everything is bigger, you done vote for that mister without any explanition. Dallas!"

"Have yar said anything that be technically true yet," Travis asked, confused. "Seems tar be an odd thing to admit ya be, yo ho ho." [I think Drake is lying? About everything? He's writing choppy, well curated sentences, so there's something he's doing unusual, I think just for kicks. But also, it could be a gambit to avoid scrutiny.] "I've seen ya play cards, yeehaw. That's odd for ya, yeehaw." [What does a Texan sound like] Elandera Ashbringer "That's exactly what a liar would say," Travis murmured, feeling self conscious for quoting so many posts. Edit: @StrikerEZ [It was more about your commenting on Drake's post being the only thing that stood out to you.]

[They're flirting :P] [I suppose you could read the sentence as he switched the NK off of Kas, made the post, then put it back on, this never technically lying because he said 'right now'. But it seems like a stretch. I actually think Striker's reason for voting Araris makes sense in a crazy kind of way, but like most of what he's done this round, it's seemed slightly off. Currently debating whether I'm seeing a difference in playstyles or actual tells. I'm looking at the easy vote switch, the jokingly justified vote, and the contribution with the veneer of helpfulness but little practical use as my red flags here. The penchant for ties is probably just Striker.]

[If I didn't know better, I'd think you were trying to get me Oops Awarded.] Travis side-eyed Mat. "Kid, if you don't expect to get stabbed in the back every minute of the day, you're gonna have terrible posture. There's plenty of sketchy characters here." [TUO, why are you soft claiming the exe block card? Mat, you softed Lucky then said Lucky-Clever is a good elim team. Anything you'd like to fess up to? Drake, you said there's probably no Lucky elims, why are you and Mat at odds? Ash. Why you betting so little. Your character is a worldhopper, they must be rich. But also, game thoughts? Striker, your votes seems... chaos demon. Meant to tie and explicitly a stab. Probably the one I'm most suspicious of so far, but we've had this conversation before]

Travis sighed as Mr. Travis sat down. "Do you know how much crem I get just for sharing your name? People be telling me they disagree with your assertion that the use of spears for combat represents a perversion of our agrarian, egalitarian ways. I don't even look like a priest." He held up a card with a single guard on it. "This is a real man. And I ain't just saying that because the soldiers are here. I've fought alongside these kinds of men. I don't wanna hear no smack about 'em." Satisfied he'd made his point, Travis turned back to shuffling his cards. "He better not die. He promised he'd get those shiny-eyed snakes ta send us some proper salt. None of this cheap stuff. I ain't letting him off the hook fer that just because of a card game." [It would make sense if that was an intentional safeguard. Although a more likely scenario is a group casts a bunch of single votes and has one two-vote train that is turned to a tie at the last second when an elim removes the key vote. If Araris is right about there being truly random card distribution, you can't balance the Thug by regularly blocking the NK, but it does give Cap enough of an excuse not to die to the NK that no one would suspect e!them for it. Given how short this game will be at a pace of two kills per round, it would have to be a two person elim team to be balanced with the Thug. And if it is, and we execute them once, we're just going to do it twice because obviously we suspect them enough to do it once. I think that limits the elim team's functionality enough that it's non-viable. So I'm assuming a village Kas in this game.]

"Seems like a risky bet to me," Travis muttered. "Fine for now, but I play these games to win, not tie. Anyone forcing a tie at the end of this may split the pot - but I'll split their lip soon afterwards." He shuffled his two cards absentmindedly. "Be hard to do with that card that removes votes in play anyway. I reckon there's a few of those in play. I've been cou-" He coughed. No one liked a card counter. "I heard there might be 22 cards in play. 9 kinds means probably 2 or 3 of each are going around." [That's right folks, I just read the rules. I know what I'm doing. Also, replace Honest with Clever in my last post, I got confused about the card seeing one.] [Drake reached 2,000 posts faster though... >.>]

Travis Rifleman peeked at his hand. Satisfied with what he saw, the weather-worn mercenary pulled the brim of his hat down lower to shade his eyes from view. They were darting around the table, taking in the motley crew assembled around him. The guard captian had a reputation for being above board. It would be hard for a captain in a town this small to be corrupt without everyone knowing about it. [It seems unlikely the elims have a Thug. Three person team with one is overpowered, two person one is underpowered.] A few players had even more sterling reputations. Rumor had it some people were willing to show them their cards, trusting them to be honest. Travis resolved to be careful about trusting them. [An elim can fake Honest by naming the cards of his teammates, so we should be wary of that.] Finally, his eyes turned towards the sketchiest among them. Men who knew how to bluff. And how to kill. Reading the room, he didn't think swords were in the cards tonight. It almost made him feel guilty for carrying a concealed knife in his boot. [I'm not sure the kill card will be dealt. It seems like it'd bring the game to a close too quickly with 12 players, especially with the possibility of double exes from ties.] "Evening, gentleman," he intoned. "I look forward to winning your money tonight." [Dang, so many new players! At 2,000 posts, Ashbringer looks like the most experienced and threatening one here.] Edit: @Illwei I was on mobile and c/ped Mat's vote... then didn't change it. I would prefer to vote for Ashbringer. Instead of myself

That's why you didn't die. I was terrified killing you would lead to people voting people you'd voted on. Which was mostly elims. Personally, I figured you were a reliable vote once you did get on, so while it was low info, it made sense to kill you to move towards greater thread control. Weeeeeee. That whole game was a rush. Thanks for running it, overlords. I am very sorry to everyone I manipulated or sussed in bad faith. I genuinely felt awful for enjoying being evil so much. Did anyone else have PMs? I've been making less of them in recent games when I've had less time to spare, but I wasn't sure if there was a lot going on behind the scenes or a little. Also, not voting is an elim tell confirmed. Next time someone doesn't want to vote, point to this game and sus 'em for me.

Well that's unfortunate. I had initially planned on voting yesterday, but after I slept on it, Mat had me convinced he was village. Or at least convinced enough that I thought there was a better than zero chance that the elims had written Steel off and were bussing or had gone all in on Mat already and the five votes on Steel were all villagers. I gotta do a thread reread because after watching the last few rounds of the LG I promised myself I'd be sure to do that in these situations because sometimes the answers are right there. Just gut right now I'd say my elim team guess is Szeth, Mat and... clearing TUO for voting on Mat alongside two villagers. So it's one of Danex or Araris. Given Araris' vote they're probably not e/e. Let's start by sharing our elim team guesses. Shouldn't be hard because there's only five people living who aren't you. This game is still winnable so let's proceed as if we have a shot and work from there

I still think Tineye Mat was super sus. :P. But it's not really a fair comparison because he had a list of all the elims, which changes a person's playstyle. The votes so far today have gone Steel, Araris, Steel, Mat, Steel, Mat, Steel. (Hey, that's a lot of votes! Good job, gang.) Could be the elims are bluffing with their later to be moved votes, but I'll go out on a limb here and guess Mat and Steel aren't e-e. I'm a little confused why Ash defended Mat there, but with where the votes are, I'm not sure how they could be teammates. I'm guessing one of Dannex or TUO is evil, and we'll obviously be able to tell which based on the resolution of the Steel/Mat thing. Then I guess Szeth takes up the third slot, since Auri sussed them and Mat, so that could be enough to justify killing a rookie. Good news is that means all 3 elims have had to use their votes already, so the village can shift over to Mat and a hammer won't be of much help, unless they use Steel's vote on Araris, but I suspect Steel will self pres if required. That's my current hope, now it's time for me to sleep

Meant to post this earlier but my girlfriend came over early. Okay. If we lose two villagers today, the elims will have parity. Assuming we then are able to correctly identify the elims, best case is we then have to win three coinflips to win the game. So this is exlo. Furthermore, the elims can vote for whoever today, then move their votes onto a villager at the last second and if a three person wagon is enough, win the game. So Dannex, TUO, today would be a good day to start voting. We need a four-person wagon on an elim to win (or a three-person wagon and an elim team with a low risk tolerance). I’m going to be busy for much of today, but I will be on tomorrow morning in case I need to *dramatic sigh* vote. That strategy isn’t working out too well, is it? The obvious reason for an Auri kill would be that they sussed Szeth. Could also be Mat voting for them that did it. Steel made the kill blow. I’m not sure what was up with e!them voting for Mat, but if they tried distancing then got yelled at in the elim doc, and decided to go for the sure-fire exe of Devo, that would fit nicely into a Szeth, Mat, Steel team. So my theoretical vote would go to one of them. Except they’re all voting for each other. Diiiistancing? I’ll also note that Araris has now been on two bad exes, so I’d love to hear an explanation for that. I like TUO’s reasoning that Araris-Steel aren’t e-e though, because in practice, that is usually how those things go.

Well that got interesting! Auri is sussing Szeth for their scattershot /shallow reads. And I would say they've been pretty suggestible all game, just based on my observations. I'm not going to be able to get a post in without being ninjad am I. I recommend someone vote on Mat because I can't imagine the elims would allow this to happen, but also Steel showing up like this is weird. Weird because I hadn't pegged Devo and Steel as e-e. Gonna stop and post now because I wanna see what steel just said hello Edit: *confused Archer noises intensify*

When I asked ya, you said you weren't willing to vote for Szeth at the time, so that's what I was working from. Unfortunately my red color button is broken and I am incapable of voting. sadness I actually liked the vote on Steel, for D1. I wish they'd been around today to interrogate. Now I'm conf biasing it into e-e distancing but ignore my brain, it does that Hi! Remember to vote! I need new conversation starters is the TL;DR on that. It still feels like e!Mat jumping on something for a mix to me At this point I'd rather have some sort of reads/vote/T31D than nothing. How people sort them is usually just a reflection of their playstyle. Gut reads are meh, but they're a double edged sword. Allow you to 'justify' your votes later, but they also hold you accountable if someone asks you to vote for someone you 'suspect' and you don't want to. Rollover is 11am EST. Right now the VC is: Archer: Mat Devo: Araris, Szeth Szeth: Auri, Devo Mat: Ash Current preference is to exe Mat, so if anyone feels like backing Ash up there, I'd be much obliged. *cough Danex? cough*

Right now I'm theorizing a Szeth-Mat team. Besides the obvious village reading each other, Mat's vote on Auri has seemed pretty sticky, which I'm reading as an attempt at pushing back on Auri pressuring Szeth. And then there's Mat suggesting I'm suspicious for PM reasons without actually explaining the context to the wider group, which makes me think they wanted to cast a vote but didn't want to be the one to lead a successful wagon. Which has the added benefit of they can come back to it later. I don't think it was a well reasoned vote to begin with, but hey, if you're gonna go for it, you might as well fully commit. Good analysis, but I can't help but notice it didn't lead to a vote. Are you suspicious enough of one of those two to vote on them, or are you leaning towards clearing them both and picking a different target?

Interesting. Kas managed to write a novel based on the deaths of two people who hadn't even RPed. Well done, GM :D. Maybe it’s the summer slowdown, but that round felt less talkative than usual. In approximate order of suspiciousness, I have questions for you all: -Araris: Why’d you stay on Liranil, who by virtue of being inactive, gave us no information from their flip and wasn’t really suspicious? -Steeldancer: Same question. And why do you hate cats? :P. -Szeth, why’d you switch so easily onto Ashbringer? Was it just a joke poke or was there anything to it? -Mat, why don’t you like my fabulous plan to pretend to be elims -Auri, why'd you pick Striker over the other people you evaluated? And are they playing… knife tennis -TUO, do you have any reads? -Dannex, where you at? -Ashbringer, how was work? -Devo, you voted for Steel when you could have put Ash, Striker, or myself into a tie with Liranil. Was that an implicit trust read of those three? Or were you hoping someone would follow you onto Steel Can you explain your reasons for voting Auri a little more? I'm confused by what you mean. You could frame it as Auri is scared of Striker so tried to exe them and when that didn't work they used the NK. But why would they have it out for Striker so much? Why don't you think any elims voted for Liranil? They needed a mix somehow, parking on Liranil seems like a good way to get it

I can't help but notice you're no longer voting for anyone! Might suggest Steel, who hates cats? Or perhaps Ashbringer who had only RPed? Hey Ashbringer, it appears you too haven't voted. I hear Szeth has it out for you, have you anything to say about it? :P. Would that change your approach?
