  1. As Gatemaker finished their speech, the five year old boy with sitting next to him at the bonfire finished swallowing his marshmallow, then burst into tears. "MUM SAID YOUF WOULD TELL GHOST SYORIES!" * [Thats non cannon, by the way.] That takes the teeth out of your poke votes, doesn't it? Wouldn't you agree @StrikerEZ
  2. Apparently I hallucinated extra rules. You appear to be correct, I can't find anything about No Votes anywhere in Kas' post. I blame the incredible complexity of the rules for messing me up. By the way, what's your preferred nickname? Olé? Aur? I'm not good with... vowels. Everyone who has posted has voted. My plan is working perfectly. * Jacques Noir knew how to survive in a jungle. He'd co-starred in a survival themed play called Le Jumanji once. "Oui, oui!" he exclaimed handsomely. "Le spies should be le mort, c'est la vie!"
  3. @Danex when Mat saw I wanted everyone to vote he edited in an Araris poke. Do you think that's him trying to avoid attention? What do you mean, they're very complicated rules. The GM said so and the GM is always right (the ability to skip the exe is actually a cool feature that I've never played with, so there's that. I just probably won't use it) @The Unknown Order do you think casting a No Vote is a good idea?
  4. I will not be voting in this game. (Unless the elims reach parity.) That’s one less village vote in play, but I hope to create a net increase in votes by encouraging the team to vote often and early. Expect me to @ you if you haven’t dropped some red text yet. Steel, that poke has my approval Rules Analysis 12/4=3. Even with the evil wincon being to outnumber, I can’t imagine they have anything other than three on their side. Gaming out the possibilities: ---Three elims with efficient win: D1: 9v;3e, D2: 7v;3e, D3: 5v;3e, D4: 3v;3e (not a win, but can hammer, so could end there or), D5: 2v;2e (again hammer and could win or), D6: 1v;1e (coinflip for winner). Basically, we must catch an elim in the first three cycles or we will have to win three RNG coinflips in a row, which is impractical. ---Three elims with one teammate killed: D1: 9v;3e, D2: 7v;3e, D3: 5v;3e, D4: 4v;2e, D5: 3v;2e (elims win with a mix or), D6: 2v;1e (village can win or a mix gives the elims a win) ---Four elims: D1: 8v;4e, D2: 6v;4e, D3:4v;4e (hammer and win or), D4:3v;3e (hammer and win or), D5:2v;2e (hammer and win or), D6: 1v;1e (coinflip for winner). This scenario forces us to catch an elim in the first two cycles, which is impractical. ---Three elims with no D1 exe: D1: 9v;3e, D2: 8v;3e, D3: 6v;3e, D4: 4v,3e (elims win on mix or no exe equals D5: 3v;3e and the village must win three coinflips or) D5: 3v;2e (mix equals elim win or no exe equals D6: 2v;2e and two coinflips or) D6: 2v;1e (you get the idea). The most interesting part of the ruleset is the ability to forgo the exe. If we do that once and it just has the effect of skipping a village kill instead of helping us find and kill and elim, we’ll get to a round of 4v;3e instead of 5v;3e. Since getting the factions into a tie at any point make sit very difficult for us to win, I view it as a functional loss, and therefore those would be our final rounds where victory could be achieved. The argument can be made that 4v;3e is more winnable for us because there’s less villagers available for the elims to mix, but if any of them are inactive, the hammer will be a challenge to deal with. I worry No Votes will be used as an excuse for complacency. If we skip the exe hoping to be able to analyze the NK, the elims will kill an inactive and we’ll have wasted time and resources. So my instinct is to plan for a 4v;3e scenario by making sure everyone is engaged and to never use the exe skip option. If there’s no threat of death every day, the elims will have no reason to worry.
  5. You may be targeted by the anti spambot filter because you don't have enough posts/up-votes. If you find yourself unable to add attachments and links to your posts, that's why. *squints at random anon account in the LG RPing as a child*
  6. I'll join as Jacques Noir, the French equivalent of Jack Black.
  7. Phew. Good game, all. I genuinely had no idea who the Tineye was, or any role, so I wasn't sure whether I needed to be worried or not. Well done, Mat. For those rereading stuff, a few notes on what I tried to do: -Sussing Elandera based on vibes was intentionally vauge. (Although that was an about face because C1 I had them pegged as the Tineye). Sussing Mat was just me being misled by how much they trusted Striker and El. -I stand by the strategy of only electing people with perfect records for as long as we can, specifically people who did trustworthy stuff, not just those who are inactive question marks. It would have forced the elims to play less optimally. Liranil was the better election choice in my opinion than Alvron, who gave me a heart attack by trying to be elected. The catch to that plan is the elims can easily fake Tineyeness because they know who to vote for, but they had to either get all village votes when they wanted to be elected, or blemish the record of one of their own to get through, which can't be done for long. Also, after Liranil, there wasn't anyone I fully trusted, so that plan wouldn't have worked if the game went on much longer. -I think the 'slip' Elandera picked up on was just me assuming certain people were evil based on reads. But once I thought she might vote for me, I decided Tineye me would do their best to dissuade her by acting dumb. Which meant being very forthcoming but wrong in the doc. The 'early' post at the end had a fakeclaim in it I thought the elims might think was genuine overconfidence and vote for me for. I had it ready to go in case I did become the main wagon, because Tineye me would have had to move their votes somehow at the end; I was hoping in that scenario the elims would correctly read it as a fake claim. Luckily it didn't matter either way. -Lotus, Steel, great RP. Sorry I'd decided that playstyle was elimy this game. Other notes: -I agree the final cycle should have either been fully in the doc with all elims present, or fully in the open. I'm a little surprised the elims didn't make a fake vote avalanche to gauge reactions to it -Dannex's argument that they would have loved to be an elim so they wouldn't be inactive if they were kinda makes sense, but Illwei leaving proves its not guaranteed -I liked how there was only really one cycle that was a landslide. Those are more common in other games and are generally unfun to sit through. I wonder if a rule that if 2/3 of people vote for someone at one time, the round immediately ends, would help with those situations. -Generally, this was less stressful to play than other games, which was nice. It was a good game overall, nice photoshop write-ups. It was also great that vanillagers (I) could just ignore most of the rules, which helped with the learning curve. Thanks for running it, Kas, Wyrm, and Devo.
  8. "-starting to be a gorgeous sunny day and we're just about out of time for today's Night Shift Program. Time to switch over to Jim's Jukebox! Let's throw it over to the man himself for today's top tracks." "..." "DJ Jim? We're having a little trouble hearing you, why don't you check your mic." "HELLO." "Jim, your normally sultry radio announcer voice sounds fairly scratchy. If I didn't know better, I'd have mistaken it for static. Can you-" "MY FELLOW WORKERS. It's I, Councillor Chalkboard." His voice was sharp and reedy. "I make no apologies for this unscheduled interpretation. Pop music is an oppressive tool of the State! This radio station had been complicit in the dissemination of falsehoods harmful to the revolution. Do not let them change the channel. Do not let them plug your ears and blind your eyes. Listen to my voice, the voice of change." Chalkboard felt a twinge of sadness as the Lord Ruler's Soothers began their work in earnest. It was mostly lost, though, in his alcoholic haze. He shrugged it off and continued. "We have all been victims of their tyranny. We have been the lifeblood of the very machines that have been the instruments of our demise. In our ignorance, we labored to pad another man's pockets! It is time we started fresh by burning out the rot that surrounds us!" He took a long sip of ale. "Join the union soldiers today. Seize the means of production. Take back the factories and the farms and the slums and everywhere else the Ruling Class has gobbled up. They haven't just been pigs looking out for themselves. Pigs get fat, which they are, but moreso. They have been greedy, hogs, and around here, hogs get slaughtered." The connection began to fade in and out as the signal started being jammed. "One enemy stands above the rest in its vileness. They have been running the words of our Management. Crafting puzzles to confuse our vulnerable minds. Scrambling our words, watering them down on behalf of Starrick. I speak of course of the Irontown Dispatches! Their printing oppresses will be the first to go. I spy with my Tiny eye something that is read. Read by all of us. So it should reflect our thoughts and desires completely! Find their hidden offices. Find their stacks of paper and create the biggest fireworks show this town has ever seen!" There was several seconds of static. "-them. Until then, I return you to KAS radio, and their honey covered lyrical lies." Chalkboard's voice then dropped away, replaced by soothing pop music. * Sorry Lotus, Kas, couldn't resist. :P. Edit: please tell me Kas didn't sleep in again
  9. Wow, Alvron was village? Good on all of you for figuring it out. Sure had me panicking. I'm a little surprised it wasn't Liranil that got sent up, but hey, results are results. Not much to report from the Council doc. The drinks were good, but no one told me any secrets. :/ I'll plus one villager(?!) Mat saying don't reveal anything. I've got some stuff I plan to say that I'm saving for the Aftermath. Anyone want to play two Truths and a Lie? I'll go first. 1. I hid some white text in the doc 2. I am the Tineye 3. I still think Illwei is the most trustworthy person and we should all elect them as our leader :P.
  10. Very good point. But I'm out of clean people to trust besides Liranil *polite golf clap* Relatable content. I can't wait for the spreadsheet reveal so we can see how the roles have been affecting this game. I'd guess the elims would notice if their teammate was swapped out. So e!Illwei/Mist = village forgetful people. If Illwei/Mist is village, the elims are more likely not to have noticed because they're faking their analysis and nkt trying super hard to solve the game. I'm village and I totally just forgot though. Luckily I'm done with the LG so now I have plenty of time to... I'm being exed??? Travesty! Ah well :P. * My friends, I feel my mind has finally broken enough for me to consider entering into politics. While some leaders claim to have a vision, I have visions! Last night, I saw a figure thin as a pole, all white, carrying a crude bow, dancing through the streets. The sight of it gave me... conviction. I require a seat on the council and a modest salary so that I may take the time to study what the gods are telling me must be done. It is not often one sees an assassin in white. I feel directed, likely towards some delightful acts of violence. I'd stake my reputation on this feeling that death is on the horizon. Also, I must commend this fabulous Bar for its wonderful selection of drinks. I have finally sampled them all. Twice. The honey mead is especially thirst quenching. Tonight, fellow workers, drink a toast to liberation! I'll see you when the chalk dust settles. - Chalkboard
  11. I was wondering why they were being so quiet... Trust cancelled, moving on! that was easy Also forgot TUO, for that odd take on Steel. Now that I've sussed everyone in the game, that leaves... Tani? She cool? I think she was fine. Tani (I've elim read everyone now. Please elect me so if Liranil later flips evil I won't be a liability flopping around in the final cycle like a confused fish with no clue what's going on.)
  12. Dannex, the TL;DR for the game is Striker/Archer are e/e confirmed, and Striker was evil. That's gonna be my quote of the game. Kinda wish I was evil now, it'd have been funnier. There's probably five elims left. They can set their most trusted teammate up to be elected, then switch their votes at the last second today to hammer through a random one of their own. Say seven people vote for me, then four elims switch off. Suddenly it's 5:4 in the elims' favour, and they walk into the next round exposed, but their resrevdd teammate has two rounds to get elected, which depending on their position, isn't all that unlikely. Again, all this plan requires is one of them to have successfully deepwolfed, and us to have a wagon of seven votes or less going. It's important that we pad our margins; if you have any hesitation about voting for me, please let me know and I'll try to rehash how I opposed both elim elections and supported village Szeth's based on Elandera's sussing of them. Next order of business, let's talk about risk! After I'm through, we just need one villager election to win the game. So we should support a single candidate with a solid track record and avoid taking any unnecessary risks. -Mat is a risk. He worked closely with and supported both Elandera and Striker in the first two cycles. Regardless of his more recent votes, that alone should disqualify him from consideration. Mat, if you're village, I hope you understand that there's more obvious village candidates that would be better to support. -Fifth is a risk. The end result of their plan was Striker was elected. I'm not sure why Striker moved his vote at the end of the C4, but it's possible that it was because keeping me in the game allowed for such a plan to be suggested, which I'll note pput Striker in the first position, which was advantageous to the elims. -Biplet is a risk. I don't know what Striker was thinking, but clearing them solely based on he could have gotten her elected risks falling for some kind of gambit, possibly connected to the Fifth plan. We have a good enough candidate in Liranil who has a track record of opposing Striker and supporting me. I'm anticipating some intentional recency bias on the part of the elims next cycle, so I'd ask that y'all focus on considering only people with spotless records. It'd be nice if someone other than Liranil was WL though so they could vote for her. Anyone willing to do that tomorrow who isn't Fifth, Mat, Araris, Lotus, or Steeldancer? Hey Illwei where you at Illwei
  13. Two points of clarification: -we piled on TUO. TJ was night killed off a knight redirect of the Link kill. I still think it was the right call, given eh information we had, but boy was I wrong. Anyway. -If Drake was Link, the game would have immediately ended when he was killed. So we all would have lost together and there'd be no point having saved face. If you thought it wasn't worth the risk, given his claim, I think just dropping your vote didn't accomplish much. We would have needed an alternative exe candidate as well, because someone's always going to die. If you were his e!teammate however, it could be construed as an attempt to dampen the momentum building to kill Drake. I'm mostly sure it was just innocent confusion, but it's a good thing to be conscious of. So Drake could either make a PM with someone else in it and himself, or make ones with two other people in it, but not himself. If he wasn't in it, he couldn't read it. He probably relayed all information he got from the PMs he was in to the elim doc, so repeating stuff of note in thread is a good idea. As is relaying any reads, arguments etc he made in those PMs. Stuff to analyze is always helpful! Since the elims have a doc to collaborate in, if makes little sense for e!Drake to make a PM with two of his e!teammates in it. It'd only really be done if he thought he might be outed soon and wanted to confuse the type of analysis we're attempting right now. It also makes little sense for him to make PMs with two villagers in them. He gets much more benefit out of putting a teammate in a PM with a villager, so they can press them for information and trusts. He might have tried putting Dannex into PMs with random people in a genuine attempt to figure out who Zelda is, because Dannex might reveal they've made contact in thread immediately upon their succeeding, which would be a dead giveaway with regards to Zelda's identity, but we'll never know if he did that as Dannex is dead. TL;DR Drake probably made e/v PMs, so knowing what pairings he made helps us find elims.
  14. Interesting choice on the Postman's part. Right, because it'd close upon his death. Also, I'm glad you weren't alluding to them being a Postman. Totally misread that post there. (Yeet, did yours close?) That does however beg the question, why would Drake make a PM between you two? Chaos move, or an elim helping his elim teammate build a network... I wanna talk about this post from last round. If Drake was Link, the game would be over. It didn't make sense for a villager to fake claim Link in his shoes. Whereas if he was evil, we'd kill an evil person and be closer to winning. I'm struggling to see your rationale for moving your vote off. It didn't end up mattering, but it could have with some vote manipulating and elim teammate votes on another wagon. So why'd you break ranks?
  15. I'm confused. Not by the flip, but by the writeup. I really should figure out how Zelda world works sometime, but at this point I'm just gonna accept that hat people are a thing. I suspect Tani already let it out of the bag with that ping, but on the off chance the secret remains kept, I'll suggest that the now village confimerd postman keep their identity secret because we need to continue giving Link cover. Show of hands, who thinks they were in a PM Drake made/was in? An e/e PM makes little sense for an elim to make, so it is alignment indicative. I was in a Drake PM, but I know he didn't make it because it was created before he got on the Shard to see his GM PM back on D1. Rereading it, the worst I did was tell him I grabbed bananas. He also claimed bananas, which I'm inclined to believe. Looks like there was no vote manip, so he didn't burn them just to keep them out of our hands. Probably means there's an elim on that wagon, surprise, surprise.
  16. Knowing that I’m a villager, and being suspicious of Striker for easily trusting Elandera (despite their not doing much to earn said trust), I’m not going to vote for them. I don’t however mind the dichotomy because I know it guarantees a villager will be elected. At worst, we end the experiment with 3 villagers on the council to 2 elims. If e!Striker is elected, it’s too early to hammer and my village alignment will be apparent, so the scheme will work as intended. Then I’d recommend tapping Liranil to complete our quartet. If v!Striker is elected, I’d actually recommend looking elsewhere for villagers. My reads are made in good faith, but in that situation it’ll look like an elim trying to sus villagers. There’s plenty of other candidates for election, at that point, I’ll take a backseat and support someone else. Probably Fifth, because then they’d have suggested a v/v plan and that’s a disaster for the elims. Good suggestion! The way this game works, once an elim supports a teammate getting elected, it becomes really really hard for them to get elected themselves. So they need to find ways to get elected that don't rely on their teammates being their sole supporters. RP is a good way to do that, so I'm suspicious of their campaign. It would have been difficult for Striker to contribute to the elim team after switching off a villager onto an elim like that, IRL fake reasons or not. But I think he would have been fine with the cost because it only burns his chances, and he's got five or so teammates that can be elected instead. So I think you're right about Biplet and Striker not being e/e, which makes his vote switching look less malicious. Interesting. Striker was on Elan until the wagon was large enough to be assured, then he hopped off iirc
  17. You were on the Drake CW D2, right Devo. Same one that clears me? I think that's why I'm trusting you. Based on the post where TJ picked Drake over TUO, it looks like TJ scanned Drake N2. Dannex knew who Kas saw request a Frog, so as long as TJ went through with the plan, Dannex would have known TJ was legit. And vice versa because Dannex outed Illwei. So they would have been honest with each other. Maybe it's just me being in the Drake tunnel mindset, but it feel like that's an e!Postman move, to help Drake get some village allies. We know that last Night, Dannex and TJ were also put in a PM. Unless they delayed announcing the success to confuse the Postman, which is possible, I'd say we're probably looking at an evil and good Postman. And as a reminder, we likely have left in the game two Postmen, Link, a Daruk Thug, a Revali see who someone targets scanner, an Urbosa roleblocker, a Knight action redirect protector, a Sheikah role learner, and nine vanilla. There may be some more repeats in there, given how few vanillas have flipped so far. Here's hoping the village has more scanners.
  18. Fair enough. So your theory is that there's no kill protects left in this game. If that's true, you'll die to the night kill tonight. So either we kill you today, or you die tonight. If you're Link, either way we lose. Durians can't be passed, so unless someone volunteers to be exed AND you get passed it because of that, which protects you for a single cycle, we're done, allegedly. Your explanation doesn't explain why Zelda tried to move the wagon from TUO to you. It's more likely that they scanned you than Dannex was lying. That post I quoted seems to indicate that TJ knew both you and TUO's alignments and wanted us to make the right exe choice.
  19. Maaat. You're confusing me. We had two villagers in the lead there, so it didn't really matter where votes went. But support is support, so perhaps you aren't as evil as first thought. Huh. If the village hits 3 councillors, it's a really dangerous situation for the elims, so I don't see the value in letting another villager through this easily. Striker playing chaos demon felt elimy to me. Ashbringer had a good post in another game on why arbitrarily creating ties sucks that I agreed with. Tani I have mixed feelings about. She thought it'd make a tie, so I'll judge it as if she did. It's better than trying to force an e/v tie, but it stopped my ascension, so it's obviously bad. :P. My best trust right now is Liranil, who pointed out the logic of if you trust me, you should vote for me, not who I'm voting for. I'm still down to be elected, then if she gets in, that's our four, so I don't need any more village trusts. Easy peezy. I can stop reorganizing connection webs every 15 minutes. Edit: also I'd rather be voted out than have the responsibility of double votes, so please either get rid of me or let me be hopelessly harmless (not the WL) Liranil Liranil
  20. I get the feeling that this exe is only going to end one way. Unless anyone has any objections, I'll start the petition to shorten the Day to a 24 hour round. If you're down for that, maybe say so in your GM PM or throw it in a post? I've been pondering whether the elim team is 5 or 6 people. Because of the Achilles heel we have with the conf goods, maybe the GMs gave them a smaller team? But Zelda is pretty mighty, so I think it's still best to assume 6. Probably have a Thug, a scanner like Dannex, a knight, and a vanilla. We really can't tell whether Dannex or TJ was the elim kill. If they saw the clues that TJ was evil, they would have gone for them, but isn't it crazy that it hit Dannex? I think they targeted Dannex and just caught a lucky break with where the redirect went. As such, it probably wasn't a Postman that snitched. I don't expect them to come forward because we need to give Link all the cover they can get.
  21. Called it. According to Dannex, by last Night, they'd scanned Drake. So they knew last Day he was evil, and would have sought to kill him over TUO. Which he did, in this post. Which I have saved. For reasons. https://www.17thshard.com/forum/topic/98170-long-game-78-the-legend-of-zelda-the-false-heroes/?do=findComment&comment=1244560 But did Link kill him or Dannex, presumably by mistake off the knight redirect? Also, I have no clue who the knight is, that was mind games.
  22. *puts on a fake mustache* Why hello, I am Kas. To prove it, here's some intense RP about healing from emotional trauma. The boy watched the mountains sing, whispering their sweet melodies in discordant harmony. And he felt... whole. My darn brother Wyrm made me miss rollover again, so by golly, I'm closing it a few minutes late. Sorry folks! Please stop posting until I can finish designing, writing, and editing a complete edition of a fictional newspaper! See you in two hours, folks
