On Lirin's birthday Hesina would probably make him take a day off. Then, on Hesina's birthday he would do so without anyone asking him, spending the day with her. Kaladin would be there on both days, dividing his time between thinking about how the day would go if Tien was there and enjoying with his family, but in general, happy to know days like this still exist.

Nightwatcher Boon/Bane (Game)

Granted. It's made with wood from your cello. I wish I could do cosplay and obtain the abilities of whoever I am dressed as. -
I think that for Rysn to swear the oaths without recovering her legs it would have to be after she's already spent a long time in the Wandersail, after she accepts she doesn't need to walk to see the world.

@BringerofShadows Ha! I don't have english class. Granted, but only this summer, you may want to start saving up water for the desert you're gonna live on. I wish I had night vision. -

Granted, but mysteriously every time you change you discover that your clothes are all dirty, with dust mainly. I wish to score a 100 in my differential equations test tomorrow. -
What you don't want from the next book?
Eluvianii replied to MistboreD's topic in Stormlight Archive
When I started WoK I didn't really like the idea of flashbacks and ended up loving them. I didn't like the idea of interludes interrupting the story and now I look forward to them as much as any other POV. Dalinar bored me a little in the beggining and now he's my favorite character. At this point it doesn't matter what I would or wouldn't like to see in the next book, I know I'll love it anyway. -

Granted, you're now the luckiest person in the world. So lucky in fact that everyone gets jealous and abandon you. You'll die in a mansion as emperor of several countries but completely alone. I wish that cats didn't run away when I get close. -
"Why I don't like Adolin" / "Why I do like Adolin"
Eluvianii replied to Ixthos's topic in Stormlight Archive
There's one thing I'm really bad at, and it's disliking things. When it comes to stories, this usually includes loving every single character to death. Adolin was close to being an exception, until Oathbringer happened that is. I didn't dislike Adolin and I enjoyed his conversations, it's just that he didn't appear to be doing anything too important and he sorta just was there. But OB in its entirety is like an enormous announcement for book 4, saying that his character is just about to start. After reading OB I realized that in book 1 and 2 he appears to be denying things. He dived into important matters when he had to but went back to his normal life immediately after, he didn't want things to change from the usual and comfortable way they had been for years. That I can relate to. So for the most part, he didn't appear to care about what everyone else cared about, you know, the end of the world and all that. But in OB his bubble starts falling apart and trouble begins to rain on him: You wanted to keep killing Sadeas a secret? Good luck now that the entire kingdom knows about it; You think you know the real Shallan? Have fun finding out about that now that you're married to her; You thought that you could just slide by everything that's happening and live happily ever after away from it? Well too bad, face it, the world is ending, your country is falling apart and you're a central political piece. Take responsibility. Brandon just dumped a load of problems on him and didn't resolve any. Meaning that things are looking grim for him in SA4. I'm personally looking forward to seeing if he can keep his carefree personality while dealing with all that. For the people that want him to suffer, I think you just got what you wanted. -
This isn't a last-three exclusive forum, is it? If so please tell me but, I'm in that kind of state when you just HAVE to say something. I just finished The Great Hunt and it was great but chapter 37, What Might Be, was, just... wow. Like, that was probably the best chapter I've read in a book. Can I expect more things like this later? Because I've heard it just gets better, especially after book 10 or something like that. I started because I wanted a big epic and it's delivering but the spiritual themes seem to be the strong point and I'm loving that. Sorry if this was a pointless post but I needed to say something.

288. If you know of someone who has ignored rule 267 and didn't return, by all means enter the same house they did. You'll instantly become the protagonist and with that, unkillable. Then you will proceed to solve the mistery about the house and the previous person's death.

The Ten Orders: How They do Everyday Things
Eluvianii replied to little wheel's topic in Stormlight Archive
Now I can't shake off the idea of the ten protagonists living at some house in the suburbs. -
I'm 20. I started about a year and a half ago, the same week I turned 19 I think, and surprisingly enough, I still have to read Mistborn Era 2. When you like both books and videogames life can get expensive.

Can I go to the kitchen first? Thanks. To Lift: Here, a tenth pancake. On a more serious note, to Kaladin when he arrives at the Plains: Not all lighteyes are bad. Not all darkeyes are good.

Granted, you get a rock from Mars, even better, you get all of Mars. Of course you need to take care of it so you are instantly teleported there. On the upside, you can breathe. I wish I didn't need to go to the bathroom. -

Granted, now the table slides when you try to draw lines. I wish to write a complex world without any contradictions as setting for a story. -
Willshapers. Not much on cohesion yet but from what they say about them in WoR I think it's the one I fit the most on (good things and bad things), and the radiant test some kind person made, agrees. And I love the adventure/novelty thing. I can totally see them ignoring the war because they're too busy exploring a new and strange place... not that that's a good thing but it appeals to me for some reason... (maybe that's where the unreliable and capricious thing comes into play).

Granted. I hope you enjoy your beer because is the only thing you'll consume for the rest of your life. I want to be able to solve complex math problems mentally. -

Koloss Head Munching Day 2018
Eluvianii replied to Ashertliden's topic in General Brandon Discussion
Wait, OB is seen as a drop in quality? With Dalinar's flashbacks, Shallan's identity crisis, and Adolin finally starting to act like a character it's the best in the series yet. For me at least. -

Granted, every time you speak, curses get out, curses twice as fancy as your original thought of course. I wish to get SA 4 this christmas. -

Granted, but you now can't have thoughts of your own. I wish to have the ability to crystallize my thoughts in the real world. -
You Know You're a Sanderfan When...
Eluvianii replied to Shardbearer's topic in General Brandon Discussion
When you're already reading three books, but all the stuff you find in the Shard makes you want to reread every Cosmere book you've read at the same time (yeah, I blame you guys, I don't know how to stop now). -
For me I think it would be those times when he concentrates the entire story in a single sentence. It's the most epic thing you can do with a book. Hero of Ages: and The Emperor's Soul: are the ones that come to mind right now.

Eluvianii replied to killersquirrel59's topic in Forum Games & Random Stuff
Granted, but now you can only move your hands. For the rest, as if you were a character in a videogame, you'll need a controller. I wish to be able to speak and read every language. -
Any chance Dalinar will de-shatter the Plains?
Eluvianii replied to Eluvianii's topic in Stormlight Archive
Well, I guess there really is no reason to do it. It's just something that popped in my head, like it would be interesting if it happened. I hadn't thought about the ecosystem thing either, it would be a shame to destroy everything that's appeared there after all this time. @Ookla the Gralsritter Likewise, I see it was a close one, a bit more and we would have the same name.
