Edwin, ended up staying at home, his indecision winning over any remotely entertaining activity. He was sitting on an armchair, now thinking about possible methods to be able to take decisions. Twinkle was nowhere to be seen, she'd got bored a long time ago and flied away. Certainly anything should be more interesting than watching him think endlessly without getting anywhere. Suddenly a sweet scent reached him. Weird, I don't remember anyone preparing baking ingredients. What's more, it hadn't been that long since he had seen the kitchen completely empty. He got up and went to the kitchen where he saw Flid and Leona in front of a cake, Leona was glowing faintly. "Did you just...?"

"So, you don't have a place to stay? Don't worry, there should be a few empty rooms on the second floor. For now I think you should introduce yourself to Doc. He can explain you everything you don't understand far better than me and besides, it's his house so..."

"A stoneward. Have you done strange things to objects around you? A stoneward can liquefy and solidify stuff, put bluntly. There's a lot more to it but I probably should let Doc explain that, he's like our leader. For now I'm afraid I must tell you you have quite the responsibility on you now. I hope we can help you get through it."

"Yes, and yes." He gestured Twinkle to let herself be seen by Flid. "This is Twinkle, I met her during an incident where she saved my life, though she says otherwise, and this house is a place for people like you and me to gather. There's been so many new people lately that I already lost count."

"Oh." Edwin felt a wave of understanding and relief, he wouldn't have to make up some silly story to get rid of the boy. "Well, then you're lucky he told you about this place. Don't worry, you're not crazy, though we all think that at first."

"Right, I'm Edwin..." he said, a puzzled look on his face. "You say someone told you to come here. Do you know what kind of place this is?"

Edwin crossed the living room thinking about what to do. Staying inside would be insanely boring, at least he wasn't in the mood today, but he couldn't think of anything fun to do. Maybe he'd just go to the pool with the rest, assuming they were there, or he could go to the music store, the walk would be nice. He was pondering about this when suddenly he stopped, looking at the front door, where someone apparently one or two years younger than him had just appeared and was entering the house. "Oh, hey, ummm, are you lost?"

Edwin looked around, everyone had stuffed themselves with pancakes, and they were planning to go swimming. "We're gonna get some serious cramps because of this, aren't we?" He got up, put his dishes away and left the kitchen.

"See? There's at least two of us, and from the same or... Oh." He stopped suddenly and covered his mouth realizing his mistake.

"Well, at least you're second. How many of us are still first?"

"Oh? Hadn't heard of that."

"We got a new face, though I think you already met her." Answered Elvin while taking four pancakes and used a different topping on each one.

Not wanting to be responsible in case some got burned, Edwin chose the mixing.

Edwin woke up thanks to the incessant prompting Twinkle gave him. "Come on, wake up! They're making pancakes!!" It was early. "You do know it's saturday, don't you?" he told her. "Full Radiants get up early every day." "Whatever." He dressed and walked down to the kitchen. "Need any help?"

"Oh, Doc. She arrived a few minutes ago. She says she has a spren."

Edwin turned to the visitor again. "Well, he'll appear eventually, have you had dinner yet? I think there's some pizza left in the living room, unless it disappeared in the two minutes I've been away. You can wait there until Doc -oh, he's the one taking care of us- gets here."

A spren? That would be the second new Radiant in a single day. "Oh, ehrm come in then." He turned to face the living room. "Guys, I think we have a new Radiant! Does anyone know where Doc is?"

Edwin heard the doorbell. He checked his watch, it was late. Who could it be? Unless Doc had decided to call three places this time he didn't know. He eyed Twinkle before saying "I'll go." and walking up to the door and opening it. He didn't recognize the person behind. "Can we help you?"
