  1. There's been quite a lot of discussion about whether or not hemalurgy could be used on others, my personal opinion is that it could, there's no reason that it could be used to steal the powers granted by one shard and not those granted by another. Scadralians are also comparitively weak compared to other shardworlds we've seen so I feel that Hemalurgy would help even things out and allow them to rule the cosmere!
  2. Ah my bad, I did forget about atium/lerasium the epic god metal is sodium chloride. My comment was trying to say that Lerasium might not be needed, if allomancy mingles enough between all the genetic lines then once they all have allomantic heritage it can't be diluted anymore. I think that with the rest of the alloys that it's unlikely to go into them in depth, they just seem to me like they'd take too long to go into their allomantic, feruchemical and hemalurgic properties. They might be mentioned in passing but I doubt we're going to see much of a focus on god-metal mistings/ferrings.
  3. 15 more atium alloys, we already know about malatium. I think Brandon has said that in the future on scadrial mistings are a lot more common but they're also a bit weaker so I think that once the Lerasium from the nobles bloodlines entered into everyones heritage it's pretty much as diluted as it can get.
  4. "Yes, they have x seconds of warning. But the bullets shadow is going to move so fast odds are they won't even really be able to see it and calculating where a gun will hit by looking at the barrel is very very difficult. " I think that they'd probably see some blood splatter-shadows or something of the sort as well and if they're looking at the gun then they should be able to see it's shadow being fired. Atium enhanced reflexes take care of the difficulty of judging where it'll hit.
  5. I'm pretty sure the Heralds are all more or less still about the place so I'm not sure how they could turn into Spren. I'm going to need to do another read through to look for any evidence yay-or nay but I've also got my WoT read through to go! What's a poor bibliophile to do? I feel like there is something about the origin of the spren that we need to know, Brandon hinted that they would be important.
  6. In summary. Nalthis is entirely destroyed when Nightblood comes into contact with endowments shardpool and uses the available power to destroy the world (All of which it sees as evil) Selians slowly migrate out and colonise other worlds. Rosharians finally defeat Odium and reclaim the tranquiline halls only to find out that they were actually just a nearby moon with no atmosphere. Many died. Scadrial slowly begins to take over the cosmere with an army of hemalurgically endowed warriors, only to be stopped by Hoid who tells them a riddle so puzzling that not even a Zinc compounder with worlds of Zinc at their disposal could contemplate the answer. Hoid then reveals that Adonalsium was actually a cookie which he stole as a child and accidentally dropped (thus shattering it) He proceeds to eat the remaining Shards and then becomes a new cookie himself. Why exactly cookies split into near-all-powerful fragments when dropped is never entirely explained. That's my $0.02
  7. "I don't like the wave explanation because there would almost certainly be destructive interference on a fairly regular basis. That would mean any Seeker could penetrate copperclouds " My physics in this area is a bit shaky but I think that waves need to have the same frequency for destructive interference? So Copper would not destructively interfere with Bronze. If there were two smokers they might though this was my earlier problem with Copperclouds stacking, it just depends on the distance between the points of origin, they might interfere constructively or destructively.
  8. I had a theory that they were the glyphs on KR armour, I tried to tie it in with the Vorin practice of burning prayers but I never really formed anything on it. It seems obvious that they are tied up in some manner with the Recreance. I did just have an idea, someones probably had this one already but what if the Spren used to be Shards? (The Plate and Blade variety) would explain where the majority of them went when the KR gave them up, possible explanation to Syls hatred of the Blade (Either because they are spren who were never freed or because they are evil spren of some form)
  9. Yep, in case you haven't heard of it the interview database is an excellent source for these kinds of quotes. http://www.theoryland.com/wheel-of-time-interview-search.php
  10. I'm pretty sure that someone (Kelsier or Marsh I guess) stated that Bronze changed something inside of you, Vin also mentions the feeling of pulses washing across her I think, this seems to me to indicate that piercing the body isn't the issue, the pulse just wouldn't reach you.
  11. "There are only so many birds that can block bullets before you get hit. " But then the bullets that ricocheted off of the birds block the other bullets! But seriously, yeah it's useful but because it's difficult to direct you wouldn't rely on it. It's completely unpredictable and there is a limit to how much it could do. In terms of defensive ability it's no more useful than gold compounding, all you need is to get them in an unavoidable situation where no amount of luck can stop them from being hit. In terms of offense, I'm not even sure if it could be used that way, I don't think that you being lucky could cause someone else to be killed by chance, possibly it could incapacitate them in some way but I don't see Shardblades falling from the sky to slaughter your enemies. Mostly I think a Chromium Ferring or compounder would be useful as a support role.
  12. Not sure about that one Observer, I do agree in the sense that it wouldn't be able to you know retcon the past or anything, so you wouldn't stumble across briefcases full of cash all the time, but if someone had already lost money you would be more likely to find it while tapping luck. Not sure about the 'luck bubble' we haven't really seen any kind of range abilities for feruchemy, I think that because it changes something about you not the world that there wouldn't be a range on what was affected.
  13. It does seem to affect the range at which you can detect it though, which is interesting.
  14. Not sure on this one, hemalurgically produced allomancy should be just as easy to detect as regular allomancy, feruchemy as hard as regular feruchemy. Unless you mean just the spikes themselves? In which case yes, agreed
  15. Agreed, Allomancy and AonDor should be easiest to detect I think since they both seem to directly utilise the power of creation. Awakening I'm not sure on since I'm undecided where the power mostly comes from for it. Surgebinding I think would be at around Feruchemy level since it doesn't seem to draw on PoC either.
  16. Ah! not the spikes!
  17. But if you could only store good luck then you have a finite (and possibly quite small) amount of luck you can store, so that balances it out a bit. But I agree it would probably still be overpowered.
  18. It depends again how you define fortune, can you only store good luck? so that zero would be relatively neutral, nothing bad would happen, just nothing good either. Or can you continue storing until you have negative (bad) luck? In which case you would be able to store an infinite amount but the more you store the worse it would get until Shardwielders accidentally summon their blade while tripping and burn your eyes out
  19. Well obviously some has to escape otherwise detecting it with bronze would be impossible, I would say that copper only contains most of the pulse, allowing some to escape, more like a normal window instead of soundproof glass, makes it quieter but it's still there.
  20. Maybe you would only be able to store miniscule amounts of luck because anything more would be dangerous? Doesn't really stop compounders but helps limit ordinary Spinners.
  21. I forgot about that, I think there was a bit in MAG that basically said it was just luck but we won't really know until the second trilogy I guess. But being a double chromium to me would seem like one of the best abilities as a twinborn, both abilities (feruchemical and allomantic) are useful in a variety of situations.
  22. I'm really interested to see how Chromium plays out, I was surprised when I saw it since 'luck' is such an abstract thing and most abilities in the cosmere have set mechanics and such.
  23. I would say this one, it is an internal metal after all. But I disagree that it means they don't stack, they would simply give your body more investiture, requiring stronger bronze to detect.
  24. Well since Preservation and Ruin both gave off a distinct 'pulse' I would say this has a fair amount of justification behind it. Espousing!
