  1. I think it'd foster rivalries too much if there wasn't a way to do so anonymously, if they just directly downvoted your reply of why you didn't like the post people might counteract it but it could just cause people to be petty and downvote you far more often in response, I think a little bit of anonymity would help stop rep. wars and the like.
  2. Aon Rao beinig Elantris for me was one of the biggest, I think I actually called Taravangian just slightly before it happened but when I read it I was still pretty 'what the', I almost didn't expect to be right I guess.
  3. The first 3 books are always the worst for me on a read through, standard sword and sorcery fantasy that's been done over and over, 2 is a bit of an exception, but I tend to skim through until book 4, that's when it starts getting really interesting. I guess I'm weird in that I really don't mind the pacing and multiple viewpoints and arcs in the later books, I really enjoy the later ones, and how Brandon wrapped them all up.
  4. Enhanced Strength and Speed vs. far superior skill aren't particularly great balancers, Lan dispatched plenty of stronger (Trollocs) and faster (Fades) opponents, Ham is great and all but against one of the worlds greatest blademasters he doesn't have much of a chance. Yes TLR has greater regen abilities but a lightsaber counters that pretty well with its ease of decapitation, in range they'd be pretty balanced as well, TLR strength in pushes and pulls is probably better than what Vader could cook up but the force works on anything and doesn't need straight lines to hit
  5. I actually got WoB that an Archivist could do that deliberately even without compounding, have a less strong memory in both the metalmind and your head. So compounding would probably just give you perfect recall of whatever you stored.
  6. Sorry Ham but I think Lan takes that one, Lan is too epic to die even from our favourite pewterarm. TLR vs. Vader would actually be pretty interesting, both have slightly limited future-sight, some ranged attacks, etc. I think it would be pretty interesting actually.
  7. Not if you're careful with treating them, disinfect the metal first, actually easiest thing would be to use it like a proper piercing, wait for the flesh to heal over before you actually take it into a fight and get blood and dirt and stuff in the wound.
  8. You'd need some pretty insanely high quantities of luck to be able to dodge a bullet like that, especially since he obviously moved quite deliberately, he wasn't just like 'hmm, my shoulder on this side's getting a bit itchy, better mover her over so I can- Oh woah, her head just got blown off'
  9. I actually had a similar kind of thought the other day, what if you used something like TLR's bracers to pierce you, which were then welded to some wire, which was welded to the sword. There's still a bit of a pain issue to get over but still preferable to be able to fight a bit poorly with a sword than well with just your fists.
  10. Yeah I think feruchemical Nicrosil is the generally accepted way that it could happen, although not sure if that works for TLR since he never talked about it at any of the caches and no one else new about it.
  11. I always liked that theory though, the only other possibility I can think of is feruchemical Zinc.
  12. There are work around, we just don't know what they are, but that wouldn't effect the Seal as long as it was used in the correct region, it shouldn't change it's ability to work on other magic.
  13. Internal Atium you mean? Let's you see your own future actions rather than others IIRC
  14. Perhaps if all of the pots were identical, came from the same maker, same source of clay and were all kept together at all times. But Forging a pot that has been kept in a rundown shack into an ancient greek masterpiece is going to be significantly harder and different from forging one that's been kept in a palace or even museum into the same thing, you rewrite its history, not what it is.
  15. Not from everything we know about Forgery it shouldn't any spike would have its own unique history, and you couldn't just say 'Then it became an Inquisitor spike' you'd have to think up how that specific spike could have come into contact with someone from another planet in exactly the right place.
  16. Well Forgery takes several months of research and not even a guarantee of it taking, Hemalurgy just has different costs I'd say.
  17. It might actually be easier to change genetics, it could be possible to Forge yourself to have had different parents, which then leads to a change in your sDNA, and then abilities.
  18. Well if it can create more matter then it's already violating thermodynamics, the energy has to come from a Shard somehow anyway so it might as well be just straight investiture.
  19. This. This needs an entire trilogy devoted to it, I don't even care about FTL travel anymore
  20. Yeah you'd run into issues forging Investiture into existence since it's Spiritual but then again, the cognitive aspect can affect the physical aspect, it might be able to affect the spiritual as well,
  21. Thug-Skimmer Bowling! Get ten Skimmers to all line up and then thugs with bowling balls. Regrowth may be needed for this event.
  22. I think it was one of the interviews I transcribed, I'll try to find it. EDIT: Found this about an AMOL special https://twitter.com/BrandSanderson/status/179073183037661185 http://www.theoryland.com/intvmain.php?i=755#29 this is the one I was thinking of, the google+ hangout he did
  23. I wouldn't mind reading some of Herid Fel's books, that'd be an interesting reading.
  24. Sorry that did come across as a bit aggressive, I just meant I disagree with the mechanics as to how that works. Yeah quantifying Luck is going to be a problem, on top of that how much does luck affect in the cosmere?
  25. Just use cannon balls they could take it
