Game of Thrones (Spoilers for the latest episodes)
Voidus replied to Wander89's topic in Entertainment Discussion
The part that annoys me is that she didn't specify, and also that 'neither do I' line. If she is going to kill Cersei then it's pointless to pretend that's not why she's going there, it's not like anyone will be surprised. And if she's not, then why the heck not!? Setting Danny up as a future tertiary villain is just monumentally stupid to me, they already have to wrap up so much and this is just annoying and infuriating. I feel like they're doing it to add one final layer of intrigue because now the only potential hidden loyalties are that the people who support Danny might instead support Jon but it's such a mediocre plotline, it's just not interested at all and none of the people who could betray her are going to do it in any kind of a hidden way, they've now killed off the only people who potentially could have pulled off a surprise betrayal. -
Game of Thrones (Spoilers for the latest episodes)

Or Arya herself, or just anyone. I mean she just killed their equivalent of satan so I'm pretty sure it's not just that everyone's forgotten about her or doesn't think she's capable of it. -
Laurelai was moving through an Alley back towards her quarters when she heard it, a general Alley-wide message from Mac. "Everyone, Voidus has called a general assembly in Alley 0. This is the highest Priority, please Make your way there as soon as possible." The message was brief but the weight it carried was enormous, even when Voidus finally returned after 17 years of being trapped he hadn't called a general assembly. She hadn't been a denizen during the seven days war but apparently even then they hadn't called in everyone. What could possibly be more important than that? Her mind briefly flashed to PlasmaCore but while it had certainly been concerning it hadn't seemed like anything that would make big waves in the DA, insular as they were. The return of the Stranger then? Possibly, but if Voidus' return hadn't been enough to warrant this then was the Strangers? No use speculating, gather facts. She headed off towards Alley 0, hoping that Lita and Okame would be able to make their own way there. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Whisper smiled as she watched another terrified group run past her, the city was on high alert, anxious due to the slew of news that had rocked it and the giant battleship overhead. People needed only small pushes in the right direction to fall into full blown panic. She wondered how the Church was doing, she'd learned a lot there and still held something of a soft spot for them. But she'd helped when they were attacked earlier, any more than that and she'd need to reveal herself too openly. She acted best from the shadows. Just then she felt a small movement in one of her pockets, she almost ignored it but information was important, especially for her. Secrets gave power, helped illuminate the path she would need to take. She sighed to herself silently, casting one last fond look over the panicked masses before ducking into an Alley to check the message. When she received the message she stood there shocked, a general assembly had not been called in a long time and now, with this timing? Could it be related to what she was doing? Unlikely. The party in Plasma Core? Also unlikely. She was loathe to leave her current work but they had said everybody, if she wanted to remain in good standing with the DA then she had no choice. She could get back to her real work after that. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Voidus stood watching as Denizens steadily gathered themselves together, most of them seemed curious as to what this could possibly be pertaining to, some seemed to be irritated at having to leave their experiments. He sympathized, recalling the thrill of spending a length of time engrossed in a single study, but this was something that needed to be done. They needed to send a message. They needed everyone. He spotted two more arrivals, Alleytravelling in near the sides of the crowd. A young girl who was looking around and evaluating the crowd as well as a young Alethi woman, she seemed to be dressed up for a party rather than for a laboratory, likely someone from Mac's division. She seemed strangely familiar but he quickly passed her over as she looked out over the crowd, seeming to seek out friends or acquaintances. Voidus' tense posture relaxed for a second as he pulled out a small fabrial crafted from a conjoined Ruby, he'd wanted to allow the Stranger to return in his own time, the presence of the shade he'd sent to visit one of the denizens indicated that he was planning it at least and Voidus would hate to interrupt an experiment in its final stages of completion, but experiments could be put on hold if needed, this couldn't. He pressed a thumb into the device and held it up to his mouth. "Been a while old friend." He said with a strained smile. "Not sure how long you were planning on staying cooped up in there but I need a word. I'm waiting in the first Alley, need to talk to everyone." And then he placed the fabrial back in his pocket and waited. @Fatebreaker

For the benefit of those who weren't around back then, the Stranger is from back when things were a little more chaotic (Hard to believe I know) pre-Alleyverse. One of the first denizens of the Dark Alley. So consider the OP levels to be extreme with this one but he's been a part of canon since before the Alleyverse existed. I know this can seem unfair to people but this was one of the things that was agreed upon at the creation of the Alleyverse. If anyone has any specific issues related to this please feel free to let someone from the mod team know and we can have a discussion about how best to handle this.

Game of Thrones (Spoilers for the latest episodes)
Voidus replied to Wander89's topic in Entertainment Discussion
Updated the topic title just to avoid accidentally spoiling for people. Re: Battle strategy for the Dothraki, should have created a separate pallisade much farther from the wall, they knew which direction the dead would be coming from so wouldn't be difficult. Give it a hundred or so meters between that and the other defenses, Dothraki in between the two. Wights start to break through in places and the Dothraki pick them off as they come through, that way they're fighting small isolated areas with a controlled number of enemies that they can use their momentum against rather than a massive horde which is just going to use their own momentum to crush them. Latest episode: Still disappointing, so bland and generic and dumb. I think I found out what annoys me about this season: Everyone has apparently lost all intelligence. They literally talk about how they could possibly kill just Cersei without harming innocents or losing their army while they are standing 3 bloody feet away from a faceless assassin and no one thinks to use her. Or heck, any assassin, at least try it. -
In the maze of Alleys there were many alleys that stood out, many incomprehensible or astonishing sights could be seen. Nestled inconspicuously amongst them was one Alley unlike any other. No creatures from realms beyond imagining stood here, no doorways to laboratories or quarters. The ground was composed of featureless slabs of gray cobblestone, a scattered pattern that seemed to repeat itself after a short while as though 10 square meters of ground had simply been copied and then reused over and over again. Repeated endlessly in each direction as the Alley seemed to extend infinitely. Jutting out from this repetitive floor stood stone walls, comprised of similarly drab bricks. These walls stood nearly a hundred meters apart making this appear more an enormous room or courtyard than an Alleyway. The walls soared into the skies, continuing on until they seemed to converge in a single point far overhead and blocking all light from entering in from the outside. In one place in this alley stood a solitary wooden cart, a platter laid upon its surface, an assortment of cookies stood upon it, still seeming warm in spite of the lack of anyone present to keep them so. A small lantern hung from this cart providing a faint illumination that was the only source of light to be found. The first of the Alleys was rarely used, kept more as a momento of history than anything. A reminder of a time long ago when even the DA had been young. Its stillness and silence had been left for a long, long time. But suddenly the sound of echoing footfalls proceeded down the Alley, a lone figure walked down the path, trailing one hand against a wall in a brief bout of nostalgia. The figure quickly shook its head however, pulling its hand away and walking briskly over towards the cart. No time for dwelling on the past. Voidus chided himself fiercely. Times are changing. First full meeting we've had in... Voidus cast his mind back. When had they last had a full meeting of the DA? Not since before the Stranger had left at least. Possibly not since the Stranger had first joined, back when the number of Denizens could be counted on one hand, working enthusiastically out of a small number of labs. Back when Voidus had participated so actively in all of their research, when he'd strode around the world, actually interacting with people. When had people started treating him as something else? When had they started to call him a god? When did everything change? He shook his head once more, reminding himself again to keep his mind present. "These times are changing as well." He reminded himself. "No more holding back. Time for action." He tilted his head to one side until he felt a satisfying crack. Then stood in the small circle of light, awaiting the rest of the denizens of the Dark Alley.

The entire restaurant then vanished in a flash of dark light.

After the initial wave Voidus saw Macs expression settle back into one of focus, he'd managed to target the soothing itself. But that in itself was still reactionary, if he wanted to be able to truly defend against things such as this he'd need to- Voidus' reserves of brass suddenly faded, beginning to drain at a rate far faster than he was using them, then suddenly vanishing altogether. Another smile tugged at Voidus' lips as he nodded in approval. "Nicely done. Just the brass, nothing else. Nothing wasted." The control was improving quite rapidly, this time there was no excess, Mac hadn't affected anything other than what he'd been aiming for. A natural indeed. "Well then, on to something a little more specific." Voidus began. "Your control seems to be coming along well, we'll try one level more refined. Rather than the Soothing as a whole try suppressing just a part of it. Much more challenging but it opens up a lot of opportunities, rather than removing someone's ability to Steelpush altogether and putting them on guard simply remove their ability to target one anchor at a specific moment. Rather than waste your energy negating a soulcasting entirely just negate that which is near you." It was similar in a way to targeting the individual spheres of Stormlight that Mac had managed earlier, only less visible. "Try to become more aware of what you're feeling as well, powerful emotions are good to start with but once you recognize the sensations you might be able to eliminate the need for it. Feel the Void within yourself, the emptiness, the need to... to consume..." Voidus began to trail off, eyes narrowing for a moment. "What is that? Sudiov? But why in the world would he?" He continued muttering for a moment before he stopped, the light in the room began to darken and Voidus' eyes knit together as his face twisted in anger. "Someone else. Another who doesn't know what should be left alone. How many of these are we going to need to deal with?" Exhaustion crept back into his voice, the strain of having to deal with Sudiov had already proven taxing, dealing with another was going to be worse, but this was not something that could be ignored, not something that could be overlooked. Someone had crossed a line that should not be crossed. All traces of tiredness vanished from him, his back straightened, his face grew stern and his eyes sparkled with dark energy. "We're going to need to put a hold to the training for now." He said to Mac. "But this might be a good time for some more practical training." Voidus collected a few items from his desk, loose spikes, the bag of spheres and a few weapons. This done he strode purposefully towards the door as he called out behind him. "We're going to need a meeting. Call everyone." He paused at the door, looking at Mac once more with an intensity in his gaze that he rarely held. "Everyone."

TUBA - The Underground Bakers' Association
Voidus replied to Stormblessed Dolphin's topic in The Alleyverse
Sudiov regarded the pastry before him with a very intense expression, he examined the glazing with an approving nod, tested the firmness with an intrigued smile and finally bit into it with an expression of delight. Mmm, doughnut of course not a cookie, but that in itself allows for different sensations. Glazing wasn't crumbling, attached to the base nicely but without being gloopy, not too sweet but just enough to give it a bit of an edge. Dough was perfect consistency, cooked to perfection. He licked the last crumbs from his fingers and looked at the next item in front of him. An apple pie sat on the table, fresh from the oven and still warm. All those years I wasted trying to keep Voidus stuck and I could have been eating instead. Sudiov hung his head as he mentally lamented. Why did no one ever tell me that food was so delicious? I mean I always saw people eating it but they have those fleshy bodies to take care of, who would have thought you could actually enjoy it for something other than just sustenance? He leaned back in his chair, waiting for the pie to reach optimal temperature, basking in the feelings of contentment that he had recently discovered. He still had to devote some of his attention towards other matters of course, the DA wouldn't stop being active just so he could enjoy a pie, but channelling a regular stream of energy towards the Void had become second nature now. It... Sudiov suddenly shot up, plate clattering in front of him and nearly upending itself. What is that? That's wrong, very very wrong. Dangerous. His formerly content attitude vanished in an instant, the light around him began to dark as he put himself on edge, preparing for something. "Excuse me!" He called out loudly, trying to attract the attention of another TUBA member, world-ending matters were no excuse to be rude after all. "Can someone call... everyone?" -
For an in-character response to it from era 2.

David has a term for them so there are definitely multiple, Brandon also confirmed that while meta-Epics were rare they did exist in some quantities. Plenty of Epic powers are unknown to Megan, she's not a great point of reference for Epic knowledge beyond her own powers. Yes, he's called the most powerful, implying that there are others. There is also a specific term for Assumer's in-world much like Gifters/Transference Epics so it can be assumed that there are enough to justify shared terminology for them. This is something we should probably talk about at some point yeah, we let Leecher's and Leecher cubes get away with a little too much sometimes. I believe according to Brandon even Leeching a Feruchemist is difficult, Leeching something from another Shardworld altogether would likely be quite difficult. And Leechers have only been shown to leech the metals that someone holds, not their innate Investiture. Leeching a weapon is difficult from Leeching a person, people tend to innately resist Investiture to a degree, the more Invested the person the more they can resist.
-
Whipper is the only canceler that we've seen so that's a little disingenuous. It's like using Larcener as a realistic standpoint for Assumer Epics.
-
No different than any Invested equivalent. Gold compounders and Knights Radiant face the same problem. Plus a Larkin is pretty easy to kill.

Given that I won't be able to be that active in this game any longer due to time commitments I'll be leaving. I leave an equal share of my infinity Eggs to all active players. :3

Canceler Epics already existed. If Calamity wanted to destroy the world with his own power he could have, he has access to every Epics power that's more than enough to destroy the world. And the Reckonerverse doesn't have any other realms so that's the only place he could have been. But unless you want to suggest that in the Alleyverse all Reckonerverse individuals have no cognitive or spiritual components Indestructible is always a bit of a dangerous proposition, this puts them into High Epic territory. Their other skills come out to 85. Rating for the Epic powers depends what exactly you mean by indestructible and unmovable, if you mean by any amount of force then that's going to be seriously OP. Assumption is that you also mean that its position relative to the earths surface in unmovable.

Well it's been lonely in the mod rooms lately so I guess it'll have to be executive decision for now. Will approve this for now but with the possibility that this will need to be removed if people start abusing it. Skills come out to 65 Weakness is a little hard to judge but I'd say a -10 Magic could really be anything, I have no easy way to score this one so I'll ballpark it at around 80 for now and say it's conditionally approved. Well really the answer is 'It makes things easier to RP so we don't have two unconnected powersets that are kind of broken' having Epics not have any Investiture at all would mean they also don't have any inherent resistance to Investiture like other Invested beings do and in reverse Invested beings not being able to resist certain Epic abilities is equally problematic. But this is a pretty good explanation, personally my headcanon and somewhat justified by things such as Epic spikes is that Calamity alters your spiritweb and otherwise acts as the source of the powers much like the Dor does.

Have been a bit more busy lately so it could be difficult yeah. Timezone difference can be problematic for something as rapid as discord. @ShadowLord_Lith I'm trying to find my GoG stuff on my PC but can't find it, may be on one of my external drives but might take me a while to check everything. Really sorry I couldn't just hand this over but I'll keep looking.

I'm really torn on this, it's almost Chromium compounding for other people but limited to a specific item. Could make for some really interesting writing for other people to try to justify what gets left behind. But also really potentially OP and not just for you but for others. Might talk to the other mods about this, but i really love the idea.

The door swung silently open as another figure stepped into the tavern. It wore long dark clothes which seemed to drift around it in spite of the lack of wind inside, thin, bony hands peeked out from its sleeves their skin a lifeless shade of gray. It turned its head, seeming to search the tavern however no eyes were present in its face, instead it was a shifting mass of gray that seemed to writhe and boil as it was watched. The figure stopped a few steps into the room, examining its surroundings before finally it seemed to discover what it was looking for. Slowly, silently, it began to make its way to one corner where the portly figure of Metronome sat.
