He wasn't in the process of hiring himself out at that point and that's just an escape plan not part of his powers. The Goldminds he kept internally that let him heal from the firing squad might be a better point but even so that's just a personal trick that can only really function properly if no one knows about it. Compounding Allomancy is far more obvious, would be used far more and is much more likely to benefit you in the long run if you're open with it rather than trying to hide it. And if you do try to hide it you have to rely on the assumption that every other compounder will do likewise otherwise they'd steal the fame not you. This is not even getting into compounders whose powers of of limited combative use.

We know that Atium can be used to steal any trait, we don't know that any other metal can be used off-world, it might be that gem-spikes are needed to steal Rosharian Investiture normally but I'd bet that Atium would still work. And you need intent and to hit the right area but you don't need to know it's the right area beforehand, TLR still conducted Hemalurgic research which should be impossible if you have to know ahead of time whether or not it will work.

Other than Atium to make spikes with I don't think there would be.

*Subtly kicks Epic profile out of sight* Yeah good thing no one has any of those.

Not gonna lie that sounds like about the best weather I could ever hope for. Admittedly I've never had to deal with snow but again I almost never go outside so I suppose it'd just be much the same as my current predicament of having to avoid sunlight. -
They don't have any plausible reason though, the Lord Ruler got by without much scrutiny by claiming to be a piece of god, an allomancer who's just insanely stronger than normal allomancers is going to be under a lot of scrutiny, plus if people know they can ferucompound it's not much of a leap to figure out what they're doing.

Wax's earing came from a dead inquisitor from the time of final empire, it probably wouldn't have a significant enough charge to do much. It's pretty widely speculated that it contains some allomantic pewter abilities that helped Wax out but that's just speculation as far as I know. But yeah Hemalurgy's essentially one of the most interesting and useful abilities in the cosmere if you don't have any particular scruples about murdering people. Even with just the abilities from mistborn to steal you could turn yourself into another Lord Ruler.
-
People in the final empire were understandable ignorant, there was only one person on the whole planet who could compound and he absolutely needed to keep it a secret. Since Allomancers are no longer used as assasins by the time of AoL there's no real need for most of them to keep their abilities secret, most wouldn't be fighters they'd just be people. Now a twinborn compounder might be more inclined to do so but they'd probably be more likely to advertise any additional powers if anything, it'd make them more useful and better able to earn money. Sure everyone might know you can make your body pretty much indestructible by compounding Allomantic pewter but if they didn't then you wouldn't be such a famous, well payed bodyguard. If anything, everyone knowing that bullets bounce off you makes them less likely to attack you and so you'd be safer.

Technically I can cuss in a bunch of languages but unlike with phrases like greetings where I only say them within the context of that language single-word cusses or even phrases are something that I use completely out of context so when I get into a tirade I switch from speaking english to cussing in a different language every other word. So I know the words but not which language they're from most of the time and about half of them I've completely forgotten the literal meaning I just use them in my own way Huh, cool so for spec maps and stuff? I'll look into it. I've figured out most of what I know about modelling and texturing from just messing around and learning things for myself so I'm not great on a lot of technical methods for material editing.

Well in the meantime we might be able to kill two birds with one stone if you wouldn't mind interacting with Cornucopia, I'm sure we could figure out some justification for them meeting.
-
Haha, love Atrophy's callback to his 'day in the life of' post Which reminds me, Cornucopia should probably appear shortly. Any idea what she should be doing Comatose? Supernovas are the fireworks they brought.

Well that's always a plus, for those interested an autodidact is someone who is self-taught or has knowledge in a field but no formal training. I just learned that ancient greeks once considered it rude to speak with your hands outside of your clothing and how to use sine functions with emissive lighting in a material editor to create textures for games that steadily glow in a cool pulsing way.

Most Australians are pretty ok with it, although a 45C day is hot enough that even people who like summer start hating it a bit. As someone who rarely goes outside unless absolutely necessary and suffers regularly from migraines anytime I'm in sunlight I'm really not a good fit for this kind of weather. -10C is still t-shirt weather for me which is about as cold as Australia ever gets. That's more my kind of weather. -
So I'm something of an autodidact particularly with regards to language, I wouldn't call myself a polyglot since I don't really speak anything other than English fluently but I know a handful of phrases in over a dozen languages and I can say 'hello' to people pretty much anywhere on the planet (Though I occasionally forget which is which so I may one day find myself in germany greeting people with Здраствуитэ ) I also have something of a sleeping problem, I rarely go to bed before about 3am regardless of when I wake up so I tend to have a bit of time at night when everyone else is asleep and not much to do other than go on 17th Shard, read scientific articles, surf wikipedia and try to learn random new things so I have a lot of random knowledge on a variety of topics although mostly centered around science and languages. Anyway I was wondering if there were any other autodidacts on the Shard and if so, what have you learned today?

Pewter can only really decrease labour costs by hiring one stronger guy instead of two non-mistings, tin isn't really useful in any kind of technological development other than maybe being better able to perform maintenance by noticing less obvious flaws in equipment. Other than the physical metals the temporal metals are the only ones which could really effect machinery so Bendalloy and Cadmium could obviously speed or slow certain technologies as desired (A Bendalloy bubble to speed up an engine could result in a faster train for instance while Cadmium bubbles might be used to slow undesirable effects like heat loss) gold is not likely to be useful though Electrum might be good for similar reasons to tin, spotting potential problems before they happen, perhaps they'd be required once workplace health and safety becomes a concern in Scadrial.

TLR did have children, Brandon confirmed it in his Reddit AMA.

Brandon on TV? History Channel's "True Monsters"

This is why for future reference you always save the layers and editting of your photoshop rather than just exporting a quick png and saying its done, cause now I have to erase all the former text and try to layer it again to make it blend I could try to photoshop him onto a Buzz Lightyear for a 'RAFO, RAFOs everywhere!' -
Unfortunately her aiding in murdering Epics is exactly what will not redeem her.
-
Well if you really need more Epics to help out with these problem cases I guess I'll have to make some more.

If he knew about Deathwish's PI he'd be unlikely to use anything too simple since it might decide to kill Deathwish by slitting his throat which would get reflected but hey it has a dead Deathwish in a dress so I'm sure it'd all work out Example of what he'd more likely use canonically: 'Deathwish, duly demonized, dreading demise drowns dressed as delirious dancer, dies.' to ensure he dies through a non-bloody means.
