  1. ^ I think it's much more likely that a Shard gave some of their essence to an agent of some kind and sent them to Scadrial (The potential Parshendi mentioned in the Broadsheets seems the current favourite candidate) As was mentioned if an entire Shard or sufficiently large piece of one came to Scadrial I'm pretty sure Harmony would detect it, I also think it's unlikely any would since they'd probably be too scared of Harmony to do anything openly. There's also the quote that you actually included in your OP but then seemed to ignore that Odium can't even influence people on Roshar without the Unmade let alone on Scadrial.
  2. We have no idea how compounding works really Wax references getting an attribute back 'ten-fold' but that's unlikely to be accurate, from what Brandons said on the subject it's not multiplying the trait at all, it's funelling preservations power through the metal which then recognizes the feruchemical ability and turns into that rather than the regular allomantic ability. The returned power would then be determined by the metals burn rate and the amount of metal rather than the amount of stored trait inside it.
  3. In that case anyone have any connection in Alaska or at one of the poles? It's barely even spring and I already want to rip all my skin off and hope that cools me down somehow.
  4. Just an aside, is it snowing in the us yet? And if so then can you ship some here? It's like 35C here already and my brain is melting.
  5. Could be but I'm pretty much the same and don't fall anywhere on the spectrum as far as I know. Just some mild OCD.
  6. Just finished Shadows too, it was a great read, a few interesting cosmeric tidbits in it.
  7. Because of something like this?
  8. It's also listed in the AA somewhere I'm pretty sure.
  9. This is actually a really good point that I hadn't thought about before but Bendalloy would mess with electricity quite a bit, it would create an area of relatively much higher current, unless the entire stream of electrons considers itself to be one object and so isn't affected by bubbles unless they encompass the whole wire but then once enough people understood subatomic particles would that change? So just one day enough people start thinking of electrons as individual enough that it changes their cognitive identity and suddenly bendalloy bubbles start causing power failures and surges all over the place
  10. Could be, but do we know the pits are still the Ruin Shardpool? Since they're no longer producting Atium I'd have thought it had been moved. Although I'm sure that Harmony would have taken Breeze's advice and made it red to make it less monotonous so maybe not
  11. Don't know about charging with animals but I'm pretty sure you can give a charge to animals though I'll need to do some hunting to find the WoB on it. (Mistwraiths might be a good example in the meantime but they're not really like ordinary animals)
  12. This is highly likely I should really do some Cornucopia character building she's probably got the least backstory of any of my characters. This is somewhat less likely. Not impossible though. We just need an enthusiastic Shiny with some leverage over Cornucopia.
  13. Since it was steel it might be related to a pet theory of mine that renders Steel somewhat uniquely interesting from a compounding point of view. Given what we've seen from Bleeders use of steel it seems logical to assume that it does more than simply store muscle speed. It seem to act almost like Bendalloy but only for one person, speeding up not only your speed but your perception and reflexs too. What's interesting is that this might also increase your allomantic burn rate, which in the case of steel compounding would result in an exponential growth of speed, so your steel would burn out almost instantly from the point of view of anyone else.
  14. Would this be enough justification for Scribbler to get Arsenal fired on sexual harassment charges? Actually given that the Dalles still lets Deathwish wander around I'm guessing I already know the answer to that.
  15. Cornucopia would probably not be a huge fan of Drainer either but she doesn't really interact with Epics other than the queens enough to have too strong an opinion. I just always pronounce it At-row-fee personally She can use any more natural plants nearby to help so basically she just walks along in a row dropping items according to a list and nearby roots bury the items for her, but once the first one's grown she can just make them spread without needing to plant a bunch more so yeah it's pretty time-consuming but she hasn't needed to plant every crop in the city by hand.
  16. Like Argent I find this completely untenable as a proposed Hoid-spotting. I think it's quite clear that he was acting in disguise as one of the people in the bar who Wayne makes drinks for. If Hoid was on Scadrial I'm sure the first thing he'd do is make sure he got a free drink somehow.

    Passwords?

In chrome you can just go to the settings menu then show advanced settings and scroll down to the passwords section, there should be a button labeled 'manage passwords' if you click that you can see all of your saved passwords.
  18. It still kind of is, that's why all of our scientific and fancy sounding words are latin
  19. Pretty much none of them are originally english But hey at least we stole from a bunch of different languages, german, latin, french, it's equal opportunity language theft at least
  20. Watching from a distance Cornucopia couldn't quite make out the details, the Van had been stopped certainly and it didn't look like anyone else was moving in it, Rainmaker had flown in to deal with the matter so Cornucopia resolved to do another lap of the fields on the off chance she'd missed on of the cretins who had waged a war in the middle of her fields. Having satisfied herself that all the creatures were either dead or captured she released the civilians she'd captured, they should probably be interrogated about what had happened but she doubted they'd learn much. The story had seemed pretty obvious. Now how to deal with the bizarre creatures? If she let them free of the vines they'd cause more needless mayhem, she didn't even want to shift the bindings in case they started tearing up her plants again, but how would they move them or interrogate them if they were rooted to the ground by vines? Hang on wasn't there some Epic who could weaken people? Aniseed? Alacrity? Apathy? Yes that sounded about right. She switched her phone to one of her servants numbers, something like this needn't bother Rainmaker, the bubble would be due to come down soon so she'd be busy enough without needing to micromanage who took care of these... things. "Get in contact with that Epic, the skeleton one, Apathy or whatever it was." She said curtly. "Of course my lady, will you be returning to the Arboretum to meet him?" A cool male voice answered from the other end. "No, tell him I'll meet him at whatever abode he's in now, he'll be needed for some work." She said before unceremoniously hanging up. The events of late had shaken her, the city was becoming far too unruly, and now she'd have to deal with an Epic, a male at that and likely one with a huge sense of self importance. Somehow male Epics seemed to be like that almost universally. For that matter so did female Epics but at least the queens of Corvallis did it with some grace. Sighing deeply she told the pilot to fly to the city and land as close as he could to wherever the Epic was.
  21. I on the other hand would deliberately end up naming all of my characters after other languages' obscenities.
  22. A black-silver blur streaked across a white void, the rapid sound of tiny feet hitting the ground could be dimly recognized. Meliability had asked Soulcaster to let her go to her special place instead of sticking around to watch the afternoon matches, she'd lost the game with that weird lady from before and losing always put her in a bad mood. A sudden flash of silver appeared to one side as a sword swung towards her neck. Watching the sword sliding towards her, Meliability waited to the last minute, watching the inching towards her before finally twisting out of the way. A black figure lost its balance slightly as the sword met no resistance. Meliability watched the figure moving as she completed her flip. To her eyes he seemed to move incredibly slowly though he was supposed to be faster than normal people were. How can they stand to be that slow all the time? Meliability thought as she spun some more, scythe catching briefly in the neck of the figure before quickly tearing through. How do they get anything done? Four more figures approached, these ones moving in concert to try to attack a blindspot. Skidding to a halt she slid along the floor, her scythe caught the legs of one figure in passing before she jumped into the air between the other three, their faces still turning, ever so slowly, to follow her motion. One of her legs flew out to catch one in the head, her weapon swiftly decapitating the other two as she fell through the air, spinning slightly from the force of her swing. I should bring something with me when I do this next time. She thought, still waiting to hit the ground again. It takes sooooo long to fall anywhere, maybe I should bring one of those books mamma is trying to get me to read next time? But they're so boring, no one ever plays any fun games in them. What's the point of playing chasey if you don't have anything to cut through their neck with when you catch them? Her stream of thought continued on for some time, though to anyone else looking it would span barely a second before her feet hit the floor, followed soon after by two heads and two bodies as the figures dropped around her. She'd tried to get the special place to make friends who were as fast as she was but it hadn't made it much harder for her, they could at least watch her when she played with them unlike these one (Constructs she thought she'd heard Soulcaster call them but she just called them her friends) but even when their faces could watch her movement they always fell pretty quickly once she started fighting them, they'd hold their weapons wrong or not put their feet in the right place and she'd quickly beaten through their defense to 'tag' them, heads inevitably rolling on the floor a few scant seconds after she'd started playing. Maybe I should get some friends like that weird lady from today, that might be a bit more fun. She thought as she dodged through a storm of bullets sent her way by some other friends. She touched one of the bullets, shaping the metal into a thin bracelet around her hand for a moment before deciding she wanted a tiara more. She could easily just get the special place to make her one but she always liked finding something to make the bullets into when they shot at her, otherwise they all just flew into space and she never saw them again, that would be a waste. A short time later, having dispatched the gunmen and given one of them the tiara she' made, Mel sat down on the pristine white ground. This wasn't much fun. She thought that if she'd practiced in here it would help her have more fun games in the Arena but it just wasn't working, she'd still lost the game today. Maybe I should go find some friends to play with in town. She thought, leaving her special place and opening her eyes. I'm sure I can find someone who'll be fun to play with.
  23. Probably leave it for now and see whether or not we'd need it, unless there are going to be secret plans of some kind forged there's not really much need for it to be dealt with in pm. Or if we need a collab post I suppose. Edit: Also random Meliability post for Salem wherin a goth-loli with a giant scythe contemplates gravity while turning bullets into a tiara.
  24. Pretty sure it increases speed too, with pewter dragging to cross huge distances and such admittedly that might just be due to a longer sride from increased strength but I'm pretty sure thugs were mentioned as being fast too (Vin in particular)
  25. Sounds pretty plausible, given how much damage was likely done to her fields she has some justification for dealing with the matter personally too. She'll probably ask someone nearby to get in touch with 'that skeleton man, Apathy or whatever it was' and then head over to pick him up if that sounds good to you? Yeah more so than any of the other major parties but I don't completely agree with their policies either (Mostly relating to GMOs since that's basically my future career) Still better than labor or liberals though, at least they treat people like actual human beings.
