  1. I doubt that Sanderson would do that. Without extreme evidence to the contrary I would say silver is silver. The element wasn't described as being silver in color but as silver.
  2. Hopefully. I'd love to get rid of Shallan for a while. I honestly have a feeling Moash is going to redeem himself and temporarily uphold the Oathpact alone until Era2.
  3. If one were to store all of their connection in a duralumin mind would aging be slowed? If you were to tap an atium mind to reduce your age while your connection was reduced would the age reduction hold more effectively than The Lord Ruler method?
  4. I doubt it. Odium needs to remove the Heralds to escape. The Thrill is just a mindless tool. Useful for sure, but I doubt Odium would risk his potential freedom for it.
  5. I think Passion is a lot different than love. Honor and Odium doen't seem like a loving combination. It seems like a terrifying judgmental god. You break a law. Suddenly you have the wraith of your god upon you. Good reason for it? This combination doesn't care. Stole food because you were starving? You should have died with Honor.
  6. I wouldn't doubt that some of the shards are dragons. The Avatars of Autonomy don't appear to be dragons so I don't think it is literal self amputation. This means Autonomy doesn't have to be a dragon. The concept in general of distracting a predator could be interesting insight into how Autonomy works. If this is the case what predator does even Autonomy fear?
  7. ...I don't know what you are talking about.
  8. It would be very useful for defending against other cognitive shadows in the cognitive realm. Especially as it seems the Ire is worried about shades. Kelsier also knows how to handle a knife. He probably is not just going to stab himself for the fun of it.
  9. In this era we had a Kandra working to help take down The Lord Ruler. If that is possible it is very much within the realm of possibility. Major houses had access to Kandra. I would be surprised if a taboo romance never happened. I'm not saying this is what happened. Just that it is a possibility. I agree that the most likely answer is that he is manipulating connection.
  10. Just throwing a few ideas out. We have no idea what the properties of a Kandra-Human hybrid which are theoretically possible. If Felt were one of these it is possible that he is able to adjust minor features while not able changing things like height. As a nonKandra he is stuck with his current bones. This could explain how he sticks out but not too much. It would have also been very useful as a spy. Another possibility is he is manipulating connection in someway.
  11. That makes a lot of sense actually.
  12. Not really. There is no reason for it to ever have come up. It is very possible that many people know of it. Khris, Silverlight, the Ire. We just have not heard enough from them. I see no reason for this. There are plenty of "obvious" things that were unknown on Earth for centuries. This for sure could be unknown on Roshar. They didn't even know how spren and Radiant bonds worked until very recently. They are still figuring out how fabrials work. It is very unlikely that they would know much about spren at all. For the most part they did not know spren stick things together as this was an action of an Honor spren who did not exist on Roshar for a very long time. We have no idea. You have no idea but for some reason think it is unreasonable. Spren are fickle things that often don't show up when it is believed they should. More easy does not mean more likely. It is very clear that silver is silver in the cosmere. If it was not silver it would have been called something different. There could be something odd with shades on Therenody I will admit, but I hold to the rule that silver is the same everywhere. Just like aluminum, iron, copper, or any real metal. Silver is not fully understood in the cosmere. We see silver colored looking pipelines in the Ire moving investiture. We have an entire city called Silverlight. Silver is likely cosmere important. There would probably be a reason why silver is used as fashion Alethkar. In Roshar as a whole we have the Silver Kingdoms. Silver may not be just for killing but it for sure can interact with investiture in ways we don't understand.
  13. That isn't absence of evidence. So far things hold true in the Cosmere. All standard metal acts in the same way everywhere. Aluminum is not special in special places. It is Aluminum. It cosmere wide acts exactly the same. Silver if following the same rules is just silver. The same silver that exists everywhere. By basic logic this means silver can interact with cognitive entities. I personally do not buy into Theronodite silver being special. No existing metal anywhere has been anything other than itself. Sanderson still wanted silver to have a place in the cosmere. It almost certainly has the same properties everywhere.
  14. I see. I had Ire added to my autocorrect. I wasn't aware it had changed the Iri. Sorry for the confusion. Those are very important differences. sDNA is not being changed by the planet. Interbreeding between causes the issues. The sDNA seems to have issue with full expression if you have two types of investiture bound into the sDNA. The Iriali sDNA would be the same. They seem to mostly keep to themselves. There is a reason that the Riran's are different. Likely they have mixed Roshar blood. It isn't that unreasonable to think a race from another planet probably of another shard may have other types on investiture. The Riran specifically may have access to another power and possible resonances of Roshar investiture. Anyone with cracks in the spirit web can become Radiant. It isn't bound by sDNA like Allomancy or Feruchemy. Specifically the differences between Iriali and Riran is important. I find it extremely unlikely that the Iri don't have access to another type of investiture. I will agree that I don't believe this is how we heard Evi. I merely offered it as a possibility to be discussed. It more than likely was in Dalinar's head.
  15. Your quote specifically supports that God alloys do not play by the standard rules. The quote specifically hints that it may be possible.
  16. Can Atium mistings burn Malatium? Can Gold mistings burn Malatium? So far we have never seen a non-Mistborn burn an Atium alloy. If Gold mistings can burn Malatium any misting could theoretically burn god alloys of their metal. If Atium mistings can burn Malatium any god metal misting could burn all of that god metal's alloys.
  17. Why would they have? Spren are a natural part of life on Roshar. Why would anyone try to kill one? Let alone experiment to find ways to kill them. That and the spren would have to be in the physical realm for it to work. Oh and we have constant desolations. Even if it was discovered multiple times that knowledge would have been lost.
  18. ...I said they were related. You quoted me saying that they are related to then tell me that they are related. As to the sDNA to match that seems unlikely. Your sDNA isn't just changed because you are from a different world. You are making a lot of assumptions. If this is similar to genetics it would depend on a huge number of factors. We don't know anything about the Rirans. We don't know how often they interbreed or how recently they begun this. Right now it is impossible to say either way. I will admit there isn't really evidence for it. It probably isn't what is happening here. We'd need to know a lot more about the Iriali and the Riran's before any accurate information can be obtained.
  19. See the screams pre-Nightwatcher were in Dalinar's head. That is why I would assume the forgiveness was as well. Dalinar is no longer the same man. He has forgiven himself.
  20. There are two gas giants and two dwarf planets. By 1960s we had satellites. It is interesting though. With no moon they don't have an easy benchmark. That being said with eventual space travel, I can't imagine they won't be experimenting with it in Era3.
  21. Interesting. I can't believe I didn't catch this. My gut says that this is actually Dalinar forgiving himself. I very much doubt he can reach into the beyond. It is possible that Evi managed to stick around as a cognitive shadow. If so that would imply she was invested. Evi was Riran which are related to the Ire. She could have had a form of investiture we haven't seen.
  22. I think you still need spoiler tags for Oathbringer. I do not recall him talking to Evi here. Can you add the quote?
  23. When asked a question of how Hoid used the Lerasium his reply was Hoid's goal was to become an Allomancer. That extremely heavily implies that Hoid used the Lerasium.
  24. True. Odium had invested in Ashyn is what I should have said.
  25. Given that he has said Shades are just a subset of Cognitive Shadows more than likely silver has Cosmere ability to affect Cognitive Shadows.
