  1. Why couldn't they? Lead them to the Dark Side, it will.
  2. This is more a question than a theory, but was he in Urithiru every time he experienced this?
  3. I'm glad it wasn't just me. I read the first two books three times, and still had to look it up
  4. All joking aside, I don't actually mind the subplot itself. I just feel like after roughly the first 25 pages the conversation was going in circles.
  5. Derision and Exasperation. The resonance is perfect deadpan delivery.
  6. Every time I see the love triangle thread, my soul breaks a little. You know, to make room for a sarcasmspren to get in.
  7. We've seen modern fabrials that can use gravitation. Remember Navani's floating platform from an earlier book?
  8. I don't have any characters who I didn't enjoy reading, once you understand their motivations, so I'm going to choose based on the characters themselves. Adolins choice to murder Sadeas was completely justified, if only based on the events at the Tower. I mean the man plotted the murder of his army, his friends, his father and himself, and basically promised to continue causing even more trouble. I can't fault his lack of remorse. Shallans arc, while tedious at times, was mostly just to display her rapid decline in mental health, even as her powers grew just as rapidly. Lift I just love. She's eccentric and fun. If I could adopt her, I would. Szeth made a seamless transition from villain to tragic victim of his own overzealous culture to stoic bodyguard. He's probably the most trustworthy one in the whole bunch. Amaram and Moash were presented as contrast to Kaladin and Dalinar, showing us how they might have turned out had they made different choices. Plus, they both showed subtle (and some obvious) influence from Odium, and I can't imagine shardic influence is an easy thing to resist. (I mean, they can't be blamed for it, right? It wasn't their fault, they were forced into it. ). You can include Aesudan in with that. Roshone just seemed like a scared little man as soon as someone stood up to him. Even Mr.T thought he was doing what was best for Roshar. My vote easily goes to Sadeas himself. No secret societies, no shard influence that we know of other than the Thrill. Just an unquenchable desire for wealth and power. The bridge crews, the Tower, the never ending manipulation of the light eyes and the King (who was a Kholin, to boot!) Loved reading about him, couldn't stand em. I am surprised nobody mentioned Mraize, however.
  9. Sounds reasonable. Do we have confirmation that no bond smiths ever held shards? I feel like I was already debunked on this, but Oathbringer sounds like a good name for a bondsmith blade. . .
  10. I feel like there were a couple subtle clues that Moash was unknowingly well within Odiums influence even before he reached Kholinar. I don't know if I can call that motivation, but he is certainly being guided at this point.
  11. I feel like it may also hint at the roots of Stone Shamanism. Like, this is the land provided for humans to live on, complete with the flora of your home world. If you leave the soil and walk on the stone, there will be conflict. It also explains the strict avoidance of violence.
  12. I actually kind of like this. It would answer the question of the longevity of life for Hoid and all these worldhoppers and 17th sharders who keep showing up. Just head back to Yolen between hops
  13. Not to mention Venli, almost Elhokar, and almost Eshonai
  14. Was there no bondsmith at the time of the recreance? If so, wouldn't his spren be dead? I'm not sure why, but I think one of the bond smith spren is Oathbringer itself.
  15. I'm just going to geek out for a moment and add that this whole Odium vs Passion conversation is strangely reminiscent of the Sith Code from Star Wars.
  16. I think Venli is a possibility. Eshonai mentions not seeing her since earlier in the day. What was she up to? Navani, Adolin, Renari . . Stick? It's unlikely to happen, but a highspen pov prologue would be interesting, too.
  17. This is the SA equivalent to "Rogue One". We will get a novella about in 30 years
  18. Girl has had a rough road, she deserves a break, although I suspect it is far from over concerning her particular issues. Side note: Every time I read the word "thunderclasts", my brain wants to read it as "Thundercats". Makes for some great visuals. Never trust someone who claims to see into the future. (Give me sight, beyond sight!)
  19. It could be something simple, like his older brothers were killed so he was "promoted" from soldier to cook, and he felt like he was misleading by suggesting he was always a cook and never a soldier. That was my impression, at least. It would be interesting to see if maybe he falls into the role of Horneater King by returning home with Amaram's shards in the gap between book 5 and 6, perhaps.
  20. And if they get too hard up for cash, they can always sell tickets to Lightweaver plays.
  21. Done with my read, and I'm late to the party (figured I would be.) I wanted to cheer after almost every scene in part 5. Odium makes Ruin look like he's just a schoolyard bully.
  22. I wasn't sure. . The E and 3 are next to each other on the keyboard
