To me the mention of Kaladin and Lyn breaking up sounds more like a "No" for Laral and Kaladin ship, in addition to sudden death of Roshone. Would be weird to develop it now, after mention of how bad Kaladin took on breaking up. Doubt Brandon will dive into shipping, at least in Part 1. It seems like crem gonna hit the fan at any moment, leaving no place for romance.

I didnt mean rejecting the current Windrunners, but refusing to join the coalition. Amazon preview for RoW.

I just realized who Lirin reminded me. Lirin to Kaladin is what Kaladin was to Adolin in WoR. He needs own Shallan to hit him with "Dude, your son tries to be nice. Look at him! Stop being a grumpy jerk". Hessina needs to kick his chull more frequently.

I wonder what Veil ment asking to remember - stuff we already know but Shallan isnt ready to accept (Shallan killing her parents) or something even more deep and mysterios we didnt even know about. Also, its interesting that Fused dissappearing somewhere to recharge his Voidlight and Dalinar recharging Kaladin chapters went one after another. What if there is another Bondsmith recharging Fused with Voidlight?

Prologue made me think Gavilar may not be actually dead.
Harbour replied to Harbour's topic in Stormlight Archive
That new Fused with beard and the way he leave own shell after "death" made me wonder. Obviously Gavilar isnt Parshendi but still there some similar dots here and there. This idea gonna haunt me till the release of Book 5 prologue i guess. -
In before Urithiru was originally evil city that must be powered up by the Voidlight. Just throwing some crem ideas around.

Flying bridge with the freaking laser beams. Mink reminded me Kakashi from Naruto with these body replacements and sass.

With flying and teleporting Fused, I fear a long and difficult journey to Herdaz and then Urithiru. What could possibly go wrong there...A barge filled with refugees high up in the air crawling along the landscape, lifted up by paired gemstones that can be disconnected by aluminum. I really hope Brandon wont dare to do this to us. Imagine. Flying ship full of refugees. Assault of the Fused. Windrunners and Kaladin are overwhelmed. Kaladin tries to save them. Its impossible. Lirin tells him to fly away. To say the Fourth Ideal. Kaladin says the words. Ship crashes with all people on it dying. Only main characters and some people like Hessina and Oroden being rescued by Windrunners and Co survive. damnation...

I have a terrible thought that the one who will cause Honorspren to reject people is Kaladin in the next N chapters. Like he will either kill unarmed Moash or somehow do something really stupid or bad (like killing alot of people) and that will soomehow break the trust with Honorspren. So Shallan and Adolin will have to fix his mistake, without him. It somewhat repeat the WoR events with Syl and thats why i kinda dont want it to happen again, but this explains why he will go to being a surgeon instead of soldier, Honorspren deal and why Kaladin wont be the one to go and deal with Honorspren. I mean, we thought "Wow, Kaladin decided to move from being the soldier to being a surgeon. Something bad happened". But now we know that Kaladin wasnt just a soldier. He was HIGH MARSHALL. You wont go from this position to the surgeon job just because one bad day. I bet all those guns: Lirin, Moash, Honorspren, Shallan and Adolin going to Shadesmar instead of Kaladin, Kaladin being a surgeon - all of them are connected and will shoot some day.

About Lirin. Not gonna somehow justify his attitude towards Dalinar, but this scene painfully reminded the readers that Lirin is the father of his son. Kaladin was just as disrespectful towards Dalinar and other lighteyes in TWOK and WoR as Lirin now. The same blood, the same genes, the same disrespectful and judging manners.

Looks like it settled then. Part 1 seems like majorly covering Hearthstone (up till chapter 8 at least) with a bits of Shallan PoVs from warcamps, where she is with Adolin. Then they will all meet and Dalinar will send them two in Shadesma, so Part 2 would be Shadesmar with Shallan and Adolin.

The more i read the chapter the crazier i become realizing we wont get the whole thing in a four months. There was the first hint of something wrong happening with Kaladin as a Radiant. He cant cleep and there is some new, more frequent feeling other than exhaustion. I guess thats either somehow linked with either Ideals or with Honorsprens refusing to help Windrunners. I will go further and predict that everything will go very bad for him, and this will be connected with his exhaustion, Moash and Lirin, that will lead to him becoming just a surgeon. Also, the description of Fused fighting reminded me this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UrMcfE7kz84

Maybe its first test in a field. Or Hearthstone isnt final destination and they flew through it aiming at another point of arrival (said, city with another pair of Oathgates, or even Perpendicularity).

Predictions: Its evacuation mission set up by Dalinar. Navani built flying ship they used to reach Hearthstone. Navani and Shallan stayed on the ship, hence why Brandon decided to skip Shallan PoV so we wouldnt find out about the flying ship so quickly. Kaladin and Lift and Godeki was the action team. Shallan is back up. I think this will be revealed in the following chapters.

I need new chapters right now.

More over, it looks like Kaladin and Venli will actually interact in RoW. Can wait, cant wait, this is the meeting im excited the most for in RoW. When they will dive below racial differences they will reveal how much in common they have.

Btw, prologue indicates Brandon didnt drop that Kaladin-Shallan-Adolin/Dalinar-Navani-Gavilar parallels. I dont see the point of repeating the same "Dalinar with his simmering passionate eyes" descriptions given that Navani and Dalinar are currently happy together if not as a set up for another round of character drama. Now, dodging obvious pairing war, this makes me worried what Book 4 has in its sleeve for Adolin-Shallan family. You see, while traditional parallel was Kaladin-Dalinar (passionate, center of everything, attracting people), Shallan-Navani (PoV), Adolin-Gavilar (More safe, more influential), this prologue switched Navani and Gavilar positions in grand scheme of things. Its not Navani who keep secrets and tell lies - its Gavilar. This is a relevant nuance. Its Navani-Adolin/Shallan-Gavilar dynamic now. Gavilar keeps secrets from Navani, Shallan keeps secrets from Adolin. Gavilar and Shallan tell lies. And we see how Gavilar keeping secrets and pushing Navani away deeming he untruthworthy make me worried. It was clear intention on Brandon part to tell repeatedly in this prologue how Gavilar lies and keeps secret and makes Navani suffer. Given their similarity to Shallan and Adolin, i predict Brandon will create the same dynamic between Shallan and Adolin. Adolin would want Shallan to be completely open and Shallan would struggle to do it, making Adolin suffer. Will they successfully go through it unlike Gavilar and Navani is different matter, but right now prologue made me worry about Adolin. I dont want Shallan to make him feel the way Navani felt about Gavilar in prologue.

I value the most the relationships that had substantial build up throughout the story. Thats why i never could get behind something like Tarah+Kaladin or Laral+Kaladin. Those had brief and not that (relatively) big build ups, set ups led to way different life for Kaladin and dozens pages sacrificed just to return to those brief set ups from Book 1 in Book 4 and Book 5 kinda arent worthy to me. Id better spend those pages reading about something like Adolin+Shallan, Kaladin+Shallan, Adolin+Kaladin, Kaladin+Jasnah and so on. Something that has nice and proper story behind or something that can become very interesting to read about.

I wonder why did Brandon skip Shallan part. Given that Brandon wanted to read two chapters, and not just fight scene, its suspicious. Was there some major spoiler he want to keep for an upcoming weekly release?
-
Wouldnt be surprised if (being in Group 2) Shallan and Adolin will end up entrapped in Shadesmar so we wont know about their fate for the Part 5 and will have to wait Book 5. In some way reminding the way Han Solo was trapped in Empire Strikes Back, and major part of Act 3 has only Luke in it, and then we go back to Han only in the RotJ when Luke and Co came to resque him.
-
I think its possible for characters to jump from group to group in certains parts of the story. I doubt we will have 1100 pages with character groups being always separated. Yes, for major part the characters will act in their own groups, but sometimes theym may mesh with each other.

I didnt listen to the whole Brandon's reading cause english isnt native language, so i wonder - is Shallan being exactly in the same place Kaladin and Lift CONFIRMED solid?
