  1. This is a really interesting idea keep it up!
  2. So I just thought up this little 'magic system thingy' and I hope it works out. It's still very much in the early stages but as off right now this is where it's at. This magic system focuses heavily on manipulating dimensions and dimensional barriers. There are infinite dimensions but most of them are barely the size of a small room. Most dimensions kind of have a theme about them except for "Prime Dimensions" such as this one. The thing that kind of gave me this idea is a battle between two of these mages. I imagined a battleground hoplessly fragmented, interspliced, overlayed and tunneled through to be a perfect maze of overlapping dimensions similair to what Megan did when they where fighting Prof at Sharp Tower. I was also thinking that a more experienced mage could not open a breach to another dimension but create 'pocket' dimensions and 'wall of' other dimensions to make it more dificult to open a breach to it. I kind of imagined the Mages as being very similair to ninjas, since they are unable to directly hurt a person using magic they probably would need to get very good at using an environment to take down enemies and using hand to hand combat.
  3. So so far in the Stormlight Archive each character has struggeled with some concept or flaw about themselves and over the course of the book they either come to terms with it or overcome it. And I was wondering what struggels will be faced in Oathbringer? Way of Kings: Kalladin struggeled with his protectiveness and his seeming 'curse' of staying alive when everyone he tries to protect dies. Shalladn struggeled with her loyalties to her brother and her love of study. Dalinar struggeled with his own sanity and and his reliance on the visions and in the end there falsehood Words of Radiance Kalladin struggeles with his hatred for Amaram and overcoming the urges for vengeance he feels Shallan struggeles with facing the fact that she killed her parents Dalinar struggels with letting go of power and giving authority to others and letting it stay given Oathbringer? This is were the theorizing starts Kalladin I think will struggle with the fact that he is now a lighteyes and will in the end have to give up his prejudices against lighteyes Shallan will start developing split-personality disorder where her Veil identity starts developing more and more of a personality by itself (you even hear her talking about Veil in the third-person in Words of Radiance during the Chasm walk) Dallinar will start reverting back to the violent ways of his youth what with letting Adolin begin dueling again, courting (Navine? Navanah?) and the revelation that his son killed Sadeas he will start becoming the Blackthorn in earnest.
  4. Hey I was wondering, are there any threads that are in the earlier stages, or still accepting joiners? If all existing threads are too far progressed should I start a new one?
  5. Well we know that living shardblades can be summoned and dismissed in an instant where as dead shardblades take 10 heartbeats to summon. We also know that the Radiants can summon bits of their shardplate on and off like that female radiant in Dalinar's vision. I think that since the shardplate the radiants wore could be summoned in an instant and the shardblades they had could be summoned in an instant and neither of their modern day counterparts can be summoned instantaneously, I think that since the term 'living shardblades' exists why not just say 'living' shardplate.
  6. So are you saying that 16 and 10 could both be related to Stormlight Archive? And do we know that every Shard has a number? And back to an earlier question can Listeners bond Radiantspren like Honorspren?
  7. Yes, my thoughts exactly and it seems pretty obvious that Windrunners Plate Spren are Windspren but what could it be for other orders? Do all the orders even have access to Shardplate?
  8. To be honest I don't think that the Sleepless and the Aimians are related whatsoever I've always imagined the Aimians as being a very strange and very different type of human or even a crossbreed between humans and kandra/mistwraiths somehow. The Sleepless aren't even really a person they are many many creatures nesteled together to form a hive they are no more people that a beehive is.
  9. I agree that having armor that robbed you of your most valuable resource would not be a very good investment and that is why I think that original Shardplate was made of Stormlight. That could also be the reason Shardplate cracks when struck an area of plate is struck and Stormlight is destroyed in the blow then that section of the plate draws stormlight from other peices around causing a glowing web of slightly weakened cracks rather than a very weakened small section of plate.
  10. I think that maybe 10 is kinda've a surface number and 16 will be found later floating a little deeper in the ocean of Rosharian magical numbers.
  11. Whether 10 is important to Roshar or not 16 is very important to the Cosmere so I'm sure we'll see something that has to do with 16 in Stormlight Archive. What do you think it will be?
  12. That is a real cool idea and I think that it is very likely. Also I think that maybe the Bondsmiths are the reason that all Radiants have to swear oaths to progress with thier spren to become Bound by new ideals.
  13. I'm not saying that there are only 6 forms that frant some supernatural ability but I am saying that not all of the forms of power have to do with the surges. I was kinda thinking that forms like stormform have something to do with the surges but other foems while still possessing the ability to create incredible effects those affects might be from the source of simple biology (warform).
  14. Well we know that the number 16 is very important to the Cosmere and when I first read WoK I was suprised that the number 10 seemed to repeat so often. So my theory is: there are really 16 Surges. So some backing I have for this idea is that there are 2 basic types of spren Spren (normal spren like Angerspren) and BondSpren (like HonorSpren) and Bondspren are the things that bond with the Knights Radiant but also bond with Listeners. So my thought is 10 types of Bondspren collecttively chose to become RadiantSpren and the other 6 chose to become ListenerSpren. This I think is were the forms of power originate from. They are forms of power because they are literally bonded to a Spren that allows them access to Surges. As a sidenote I wonder what it would be like to see Kalladin fighting a RadiantListener.
  15. I think that the Evil being the shade of Ambition is unlikely especially because it says in Arcanum Unbounded that the clash between Odium and Ambition took place in 'the vast reaches between planets.' But I do think that their initial clash on Threnody could have partially splintered Ambition causing a little piece of Ambition's power to fall off and invest itself in someone. That person then unleashed it's power on others and fulfilled all of it's wildest dreams by taking over an entire continent.
  16. So we know that Lift is not exactly a normal person, even by Radiant standards. And we know that she can interact with Wyndle in ways that most Radiants cannot. So I was wondering since Lift can feel Wyndle in different ways than most Radiants can feel thier spren can she also see her spren differently than most Radiants see thier Spren. So Spren have 2 forms the form they take in the Cognitive realm and the form they take in the Physical Realm. Since Lift is so close to the Cognitive Realm does she see the Cognitive Realm version of Wyndle and if so what is the Physical Realm version of Wyndle?
  17. So I read your article and I thought it was very neat and well presented but when I was reading it I wondered, have all the RadiantSpren actually stopped bonding Listeners. Maybe there's something that Humans give Spren (like a greater presence in the Physical Realm) and maybe there's something that Listeners give spren (-insert really awesome theory here-) so that when spren decide to go bond with something they have to chose either presence in the Physical Realm or the whatever else it could be. This I think could lead to some really interesting conflicts (Kalladin against Windform Listener or Shallan meeting a Lightform Listener). So basically I like your theory but who's to say the spren stopped bonding Listeners?
  18. To be honest I think that because Brandon Sanderson is Brandon Sanderson he will kill off Kalladin. It will probably be in some super dramatic scene with Kalladin swearing the final Windrunner oath "I will die to protect others" and then sacrifices himself to save someone.
  19. Dalinar will go super Bondsmith and Bond Honor back together so that he can ascend.
  20. Normal Shardplate works like that yes, but living Shardblades are extremely different from dead ones maybe there is such a thing as living Shardplate too. And also maybe Shardplate leaks Stormlight because it's trying to recapture it's lost sould/spren whatever where true/living Shardplate already has that.
  21. I'm not sure that Adhesion would allow a Windrunner to fly after all Adhesion would just allow someone to create areas of high atmospheric pressure and areas of low atmospheric pressure. That being said however maybe a Windruner could create an area of high pressure behind them and an area of low pressure in front of them causing them to be sucked toward the area of low pressure in a sort of half flight. But overall I thinlk that Gravitation would be a better form of flying.
  22. Coppurnium Allomancy-While burning Coppurnium all materials take on new hues. Each collor or mix of collors indicates which elements are present in the material. Feruchemical-While storing in a Coppurniummind you lose the ability to empathize with those around you while tapping empathy becomes your strongest charachteristic Hemalurgical-A Coppurnium Spike steal Self. Drive a spike directly through someones heart and into anothers forehead will not only change a person's Spiritweb to match that of the original but also the physical looks will be preserved creating a nearly exact duplicate the only difference is age.The original's age will not be transfered into the new host. P.S. (This is how Kelsier has stayed alive all these years.)
  23. One would think that Copper compounding would result in a complete recapture of the memory as if you were experiencing it all over again. Like Wax did with the unkeyed coin medallion.
