the windrunner's third oath (kaladin version) "I will protect even those I hate, so long as it is right." "And when they were spoken of by the common folk, the Releasers claimed to be misjudged because of the dreadful nature of their power [...] They did also exercise anger in great prejudice regarding it" (WoR Chapter 36 ephygrap) the "hate" is a human emotion, and the KR are human (even the stormfather tell to dalinar to don't idealize to much the ancient KR). they don't be 'ruled' by hate.

1) i don't think odium was forced, but an willing element in the creation of the oathpact, like the commited of the heralds. if this is true put the unmade long before the KR. 2) not all the unmade are sapient, but re-shephir show curiosity, so she isn't totaly mindless. some comprehension of the imprisoning and the prison would be expected. i think was used a dawnshard.

this can be an answer, but don't feel right to me. if the pillar was [one of] the key element of the 'cage' was way more safe destroy that pillar and scatter the gemstone far away from the place, another (little) element is the fact of re-shephir actualy fear shallan here and now, if the imprisonement needed a huge amount of stormlight and she block the access of the pillars don't think she reacted in this fashion. the pillar is a important element for the tower and it's correct working. the mosaic and the (ruined) library point to a important function of the tower and the order. the place was well hidden so the 'common people' living in urithitru don't know its existence or purpose the 'spren' (sliver of investiture gained sentience) are specific of roshar (planet or system, i don't know), even before the shattering (the listener need the spren to take form and them predate the coming of honor and cultivation), and odium after take the shard don't follow immediately H&C, but he arrived in the roshar system some time later. so i don't think the unmade predate odium arriving on roshar. the desolations bind odium in this system, i don't know how tavanast build the whole thing (heralds, torture, oathpact, desolation, voidbringer, etc...), but this required some acceptation by odium (honor in one of the vision talk of the rule all the shardholder must follow). and i think the unmade are an offspring of the whole thing. (ok, my english is awuful, but i hope can be undestandable)

[OB] A new perspective on who wrote Oathbringer
Fulminato replied to Necessary Eagle's topic in Stormlight Archive
i think the book will show itself at the end of the thrid section (IRCC the section will be four, if i remember wrong will be the section before the last) o the final interlude. and the last section epigraphs will be the actual content of the book. the same 'pattern' was used for the death rattle in the WotK. -
yes, jasnah was quite clear: “So you believe Namar’s theory on spren categorization?” “Yes.” “Good,” Jasnah said. “As do I. I suspect, personally, that these groupings of spren—emotion spren versus nature spren—are where the ideas of mankind’s primeval ‘gods’ came from. Honor, who became Vorinism’s Almighty, was created by men who wanted a representation of ideal human emotions as they saw in emotion spren. Cultivation, the god worshipped in the West, is a female deity that is an embodiment of nature and nature spren. WoR chapter 3 "Pattern"

i think the most important question is "who free Re-Shephir from her cage?" and the everstorm i think is a weak answer

[OB] Why a Reverse Everstorm is significant
Fulminato replied to ZenBossanova's topic in Stormlight Archive
the shardholder had some ability to see in the future, someone better someone else wrost, but all can feel them (the future). the listener had a specific form with the ability to see the future, renarin had made a countdown for the evestorm in the dalinar's house wall over all WoR, the spren had some knowledge of this, because they try to regain what was lost (nahel bond/radiancy) years before the actual start of the desolation. mistborn fist trilogy spoiler -
[OB] Why a Reverse Everstorm is significant
Fulminato replied to ZenBossanova's topic in Stormlight Archive
if you had a car before 'car' isn't a new thing. the 'old desing' mean the powers behind the new storm are old, the 'mind' make this possibile is old. the evestorm is a odium-related magic effect, so yes odium IS old, but this form of his power IS new -
[OB] Why a Reverse Everstorm is significant
Fulminato replied to ZenBossanova's topic in Stormlight Archive
we have the word of (at least) (1) tanavast, (2) the stormfather, (3) voidbringer form for foresee, (4) jasnah comment. to the everstorm is a new thing. e no one bit of information in the evestorm appear in the ancient time. -
[OB] Why a Reverse Everstorm is significant
Fulminato replied to ZenBossanova's topic in Stormlight Archive
the (ever)storm is new even in the listener's song “Nightform predicting what will be, / The form of shadows, mind to forsee./ As the gods did leave, the nightform whispered. A new storm will come, someday to break. / A new storm a new world to make. / A new storm a new path to take, the nightform listens. ” —17th stanza of the Song of Secrets -
the situation are similar because both the windrunner and the yellow (void)spreen aren't in charge of the operation, so both defer to other to make the final decision. but (i think) the position offer to 'dalinar' and kaladin are quite different. we don't know how the orders inner structure works and the process to undergo for joining an order, at least the process for 'normal' people, how don't show any surgebind ability, we know the 'squire' role, but the proposition made to dalinar hint a more vast and complex situation, in the purelake vision only a couple of man show to drew stormlight, and dalinar impersonates a some sort of new recluit. the offer make to kaladin is more "defect your army and join ours and we allow you to live"

to me strike more similar to this quote of WoR: In short, if any presume Kazilah to be innocent, you must look at the facts and deny them in their entirety; to say that the Radiants were destitute of integrity for this execution of one their own, one who had obviously fraternized with the unwholesome elements, indicates the most slothful of reasoning; for the enemy’s baleful influence demanded vigilance on all occasions, of war and of peace. chapter 51 "heirs" i don't know if this spren ad some resemblance of the spren dalinar saw in the 'purelake vision' “Riverspren?” the knight asked, stepping up beside him. “It looked like a shadow,” Dalinar said. “Red eyes.” “It’s here, then,” the knight said. “Sja-anat’s spy. Caeb, run to the checkpoint. The rest of you, keep watching. It won’t be able to go far without a carrier.” She yanked something off her belt, a small pouch. [WoR Chapter 4, "taker of secrets"] in this case the spren had some mobility, and don't seem need to be a physically contact between him and the 'carrier' for him to move further. i don't agree, nale was chosen by honor to embodied the concept of justice, and gave him the honorblade to sign the (oath)pact. szeth is a shin warrior who carried jezrien's sword. he don't need to aling his life to the divine duty/attributes of the herald.(he don't lead, and for sure don't protect anyone) the WoR chapter ephigrap 37 state the matching between the temperament of the herald and the behavior of the associated order. mraize don't think is a figurehead. his word "This creature in Tukar, however, is different. I’m not convinced he is human. If he is, he’s certainly not of the local species. . . ." [WoR Chapter 54 Veil's lesson] a very ominous detail, he know the oathpact, if the knowledge of the matter of the radiant is faded in (presumably) two millenia, the information on the herald (four and half millenia ago) are crumble to dust long time ago [and the heralds lie to the people, in the regard of the ending of the desolation], so how he can know this? (there are some player in the SA with that knowledge, true, but they are worldhopper o some ancient being and the herald themself)

young dalinar was a man of extremes, alchool too. but in a flashback (release in Unfettered II, and probably the next flashback we will see in the preview chapter) i think the abuse of alchool was done for another matter.

[OB] Kaladin and Adolin free Shallan discussions.
Fulminato replied to Calderis's topic in Stormlight Archive
(my opinion) if the lightweaving have truth and not oath mean all the order indulges on lies, and the illumination surge can make them very real. a thrut spoke cannot be forgotten, cannot be buried, this should be made to stop the KR to lose himself in his own lies. if the KR want progress need to handled both the truth and the lie. -
- The metal art (scandiral magic system) can influence the time flow. and we know very little on regard the old magic an we don't know anything on the voidbinding. - the healing by stromlight need to consume the stormlight itself, if indeed that stormlight had healed the lost connection, it cannot be used for surgebinding, i don't think stormlight healed dalinar, but lift is a wierid thing, even for the nightwatcer's standard. I don't know if she can take in example to confirm or reject that teory. honor is described alwasy (even by kalak) 'above', syl tell to kaladin 'the winds are of honor'. i think urithiru was build in the roshar's highest mountain. the place closest to honor. Mr T. think nergaoul is on the move westward, so he can influence jah keved, and this only after the civil war consuming the kingdom. Odium isn't on roshar. so don't think his shardpool will be find on the planet. odium can extend his influence on roshar but not inhabit the planet. pheraphs hi shardpool will be find on brazie. another truth she needed to accept is the difference between his 'shardblade' and the other. right before activate the oathgate “It’s not working,” Adolin shouted. Only one answer. Shallan grabbed the hilt of his sword and whipped it out—ignoring the scream in her mind that came from touching it—then tossed it aside. Adolin’s sword vanished to mist. A deep truth. “There is something wrong with your Blade, and with all Blades.” She hesitated for just a second. “All but mine. Pattern!” WoR Chapter 86 "patterns of light"

The way dalinar forget his wife had always strike me a close resemblance with a feruchemist store some memory inside a coppermind. (Mistborn spoiler) I don't think the stormlight healed his lost connection, but something bridged the gap and dalinar slowly restore all his memory. Don't think is a coincidence the next flashback chapter should be the feast with the first meet with his future wife. And only at the end of the book we will know the terrible action dalinar had done to leads him to the nightwatcher. The stormfather comment to thing better to be forgotten for the recreance point to the "hole" in the dalinar mind 'sound' like a specific action was done and the pain was so unbearable to force dalinar to seeks the old magic.

He refer to the oathbringer's back cover "the captain broken by loss, the spy broken by cruelry, the stonewalker broken by oath, the traitor broken by ambition and the king broken by war" In the back cover of WotK there is four character: the surgeon, the lair, the highprince and the assassin. Obviously they are kaladin, shallan, dalinar and szeth. But in the WoR's back cover five people are named. The windrunner, the lightweaver, the bondsmith, the assassin and the explorer. The first four are the same of the WotK back cover, but for the explorer... The explorer is forced to choose between the slow death and a terrible betrayal of she believes. Eshonai is the explorer, taking stormform and saving her people and accept the old gods? Or refusing and let her people die in the war against the alethi? The traitor is thus eshonai and her ambition is the know the unknown, to map the whole world. Finding the human and starting the chain of event leading to the everstorm. She seeks liberation from the grasp of the old gods.

Were the Ardents during/after the Recreance comprise of KR?
Fulminato replied to ScavellTane's topic in Stormlight Archive
the ardentia is the vorin church after the hierocracy, before where priests, but we don't know the strucutre of the vorinism before they seek to sieze the power over roshar. -
yes, but before that we dont' have hany proof of a trauma, in the middle feast hoid make remember shallan something before, and the scene is quite normal. after the killing attemp she don't speek for month.

we have a WoB on the matter INTERVIEW: May 22nd, 2013 Rithmatist Signing Report - StormAtlas (Paraphrased) STORMATLAS I finally got to ask a question about the Stormlight Archive that Windrunner17 and Chaos helped me with which was: "Why Can Kaladin Surgebind with any gem type but Jasnah and Shallan need specific types?" BRANDON SANDERSON A lot of that will be explained as the series comes along. It is really the difference between Soulcasting and the other forms of Surgebinding. It's more a quirk of Soulcasting than it is something that is different about about Kaladin. So you've kind of got it reversed a little bit though; Soulcasting has this additional restriction that the other ones don't.

i think all the ex-parshmen of alethkar are heading to kholinar, that fifthy are the parshmen in the area near heartstone, ti is high probable in that rural zone the parshmen are rare (there are 'high quality' slave, so many will be in the zone of whealt), we know (from wor) a new form don't grant ability. the normal use of the parshmen is training in something tedious and repeitive and let they work on it all days, if you want win a battle with untrained unity against a better soldiers you need overhelming number, and waiting to attact only when the troop are gathered.

Kaladin is called 'surgeon' in the backcover of WotK the other four reference are the real moment to broken them. The Captain, broken by loss -> kaladin broken by the loss of his brother The Spy, broken by cruelty -> shallan broken by the attempt of his mother to kill her The Stonewalker, broken by oaths -> sezth broken by the kill his oaths must required (i am sezth son son vallano, Truthless of Shinovar. I do as my masters demand, and I do not ask for explanations) The King. Broken by war -> dalinar broken in the end of the brother's war to unified alethkar (Kadash quit the army and join the ardentia for that action) all the event (for dalinar can be wrong, we will se in the end of the book) are the first and most important event, venli ambition sound 'off' in relation to the other. i still think the ambition of eshonai in the chart the unknow, finding the human, and starting the event chain leading to the everstorm

recovered the two back cover (WotK and WoR), in the second the people mentioned are five, and the 'new entry' (in the reference of wotk backcover) is "The Explorer, straddling the fates of two peoples, forced to choose between slow death and a terrible betrayal of all she believes." don't think can be any doubt, eshonai is the explorer, and the thus the traitor in the oathbringer backcover.

her ambition to map the world, to discover the unknow brining doom to her people. both parent murdered can be pass for cruelty, and seek vindication (if the word is correct) for her family, someone unleash her mother to kill her, another man was present in that night, we don't know how is and his motivation.
