  1. I think that we can agree that Susebron is kinda screwed. The main advantage of awakening relies on being heavily experienced and having time to prepare. Susebron just hasen't had the time to become a competent awakener. Even though he has a huge amount of breaths, I think that with time to prepare, vasher or another highly knowledgeable awakener could beat him. He doesnt really stand a chance against these three mistborn. He also really been in a lot of combat, and it's likely that he would die because he isn't used to fighting. TLR and Kelsier are in trouble for similar reasons. Both of them have pierced metal in their body. Which means that its possible that with the power that someone who is burning the mists has, they could be controlled by emotional allomancy. Even if they aren't able to be controlled, Mistpoint Vin is still able to push away metal that is piercing the body. She could push away TLR's bracers, causing him to age quickly like we saw him do in the novels. BoM Kelsier appears to have a spike in his eye, it is mentioned that having a spike in your brain is lethal. My guess on how the battle would go down would be that as soon as they arrive, Vin begins to burn the mist and pulls (or pushs) hard on all the metal piercing skin in the area. while using the spikes of kedrik shaw to maintain her position. Once they are dead, she moves around quickly, susebron can't keep up, and she quickly kills him with a steel push from a distance.
  2. "OK," Mac Grabs the dice and tosses them into the air, "11! Well, everyone my name is Mac."
  3. (im gonna use a RNG to decide the dice roles) "Can we play simultaneously?" Mac asks. Not waiting for an answer he says "I will bet a Rock that I will lose" He grabs two of the dice and role's a 5. Grinning he offers a prayer to the gods of luck and chance and roles again. A four. His smile still going strong he roles again. 2. "How long do these games usually take anyway?" Grabbing the dice again, he roles one more time, a Seven! "Yes! I lose. Take that!" He stands up and does a little victory dance.
  4. Mac thought for a moment, That doesn't seem right, 50/50 odds, but the gods of luck and chance will decide. "What happens if I role a 10 then an 11? do I role again?"
  5. "Oh sorry," Mac exclaimed as he reached into his coat pocket, "Forgot I was eating it. Does anyone else want one?" He pulls out a small container with a few cookies in it. "As for whether or not Luck exists, have you heard the stories of Mitram Coathun the Lucky? A man so favored by the Gods that he won every game he played, so long as it involved luck. Some say that he was the Gods of Luck and Chance's champion. Luck most definitely exists in the form of fickle gods who let their whims decide the roll of a die."
  6. Mac walks up to the campfire munching on a cookie, "I heard that you guys were going to play a game? Can I join? After my conversion I have always enjoyed an opportunity to invoke the Gods of Luck and Chance."
  7. If you love hemalurgy and cookies, you might want to check out the Dark Alley. We are always accepting new members.
  8. How involved would Galaphos and Balinox be involved in the story? Is it more like how the shards are in sanderson's novels, or will they be more closely involved, providing active guidance and talking?
  9. Welcome to the 17th shard! Keeping you sane may be difficult due to the large amount of hemalurgic spikes cookies we consume, they tend to chase away sanity. Do you want one?
  10. Yes, you are now a full denizen of the Dark Alley and have all rights and privileges associated with that position. Welcome!
  11. We are unaffiliated with the Ghostbloods. They have an agenda and organization, while we exist to spread cookies, love and hemalurgy everywhere. As for what metal it is, it could be anything, chances are its not even allomatic. If it is allomatic, just remember that the DA is not responsible for anything that happens to you regarding the cookie, burning invested spikes has been known to have adverse side effects. There is a link to the full disclaimer in my signature.
  12. I'll sign up as Mac. The former drug dealer baker that gives out cookies to any who ask.
  13. If you want spikes, just step into this Dark Alley and take one! Welcome to the 17th shard!
  14. Could I also have a spec link? I don't have the time to play this game.
  15. Like bugsy said, most of the pure RP is dead, but there is some left in the social groups area. The "People you wouldn't wan't to meet in a dark alley" thread sometimes gets a post or two of RP, a month. It's also not really pure RP, but its better then nothing.
  16. This sounds like a really fun game! Two questions though, the first is what happens with two people tied with the most votes for a lynch? Is it randomly decided, or multiple lynchings. The second is, what happens for tied votes for second, third, and fourth place? if the person with the most votes has 3 and then there are 2 people with 2 votes and 2 people with one vote, how would that turn out? Would the people with two votes be tied for 2nd so they couldn't be converted, or would they be 2nd and third so they couldn't be converted? If the second scenario is true, then how will you determine which of the next players gets the 4th place for most votes?
  17. All you have to do is make a post in this place. Generally the heading will tell people the name of the guild and its a good Idea to outline the purpose, rules, and how to join the guild in the OP.
  18. It depends on the guild, some guilds simply require you to post that you want to join. Others require you to swear an oath, similar to the knights radiant oath's. My Guild, people you wouldn't want to meet in a dark alley, requires that you offer a new member a cookie in the signup thread before joining. I would suggest reading the original post of the guild, they usually outline what to do. Also, be careful, most guilds are inactive and the guild leaders generally have to accept your post before joining. A lot of times the guild leader won't get the message that you posted on that thread.
  19. The thing is, if he was called out, that reveals the fact that he was doing this whole thing. Why not decrease the chances of being called out and not lie to everyone in the PM's?
  20. Personally, I am a bit confused, how is staying on orlok voting for the person most likely to die? No one else was voting for him. How is voting for a person who lied in PM's without reason sporadic? Why would he specifically tell someone he was telling everyone a different thing? Alvron said, But if people were collaborating behind his back people would realize that he was lying. If he wanted to use this as a method for determining who was collaborating behind his back, he wouldn't claim he was giving every one different information.
  21. Honestly, the reason that my posts are much more detailed is that I have way more time to think on them. I have been sick and stuck in my bed the entire weekend and have had nothing to do except to start reading the wheel of time, and watch this game.
  22. I say I disagree with how you play based on our motivations on a D1 lynch. You accept it as a natural part of the game and from what I can tell, don't have reservations about voting on D1. I do have reservations about voting on D1 and reluctantly vote with my limited information. At this point, Drake Marshall's recent post has convinced me to to remove my vote from you, Orlok Tsubodai, and place it on steeldancer. The reason I didn't do this is twofold, the first being that I wasen't sure whether or not I could trust my reads of steel dancer after I failed in the last game I played with him, the second being that he had a point and I couldn't find fault with his strategy if he was a villager. I haven't at this moment received a PM from him, so I had no Idea what you were talking about. Drake Marshall's recent post has provided enough evidence for me to support lynching him. I don't see a reason for someone in his situation to lie in PM's that he was sending out.
  23. I do not disagree with your vote on steeldancer, and your vote on him is not without logic or reason behind it. As to your second point, I believe that my words were that I sided closer to Kynedath on the issue of D1 lynches. What I intended by that was that I am opposed to them on the basis of people usually not having enough information to make a well educated vote, but not opposed enough to not participate in them otherwise how would we get the information to make informed votes the next day. I will participate in them gladly if it appears that some people have given away hints that may be alignment indicative. But usually we don't have enough information to make a well educated vote. In those cases I am a reluctant participant. You are correct, that I am voting slightly inconsistent with what I preach. As I said above, on D1 my desire for well supported votes has to be tempered with the fact that we don't know much about anyone, so on D1 I have to factor in whatever I can, this includes my gut feelings and impressions. I am voting against you because you, kynedath, and steeldancer have provided the most information, though admittedly not a lot, and you three are the only people that I feel I could make a somewhat confident decision to lynch. Steeldancer I don't think I could make a confident decision on without more information. Kynedath I have no reservation with as of right now, but I disagree slightly with how you think the game should be played. Usually I try to refrain from going with impressions and gut feelings, but as this is D1, in order to decide who to lynch I will factor in my gut. And my gut says you're acting suspicious.
  24. The reason that I am keeping my vote on you is two fold, the first being that you and Kynedath have put the most information out, and I side closer to Kynedath on the issue of D1 lynches. As a whole, my opinion of lynching is that without analysis or logic, you shouldn't vote on someone. Maybe it's just my very little experience talking, but in my first game there was very little analysis and it felt like people didn't put a lot of thought into their votes the eliminators one a perfect victory by cycle 4. (However, a large portion of that was due to have the villagers dying from inactivity, my first game was also a QF so that may also be a part of it). So I'm against voting on someone unless you can put a lot of thought into it and have some analysis to back it up. In the beginning of games that belief needs to be balanced with the fact that none of us actually have too much information to go on, but you and Kynedath have put the most information out and I have the least reason to trust you. The second part is that hasty lynches also benefit the eliminators as they carry a greater chance of taking out a villager. I would say that I am against declaring on what you go for. The thing is, I haven't seen any arguments in favor of it that don't rely on everyone going for an Item. Now while going for the item is a smart thing, relying on every one as a basis for your strategy doesn't work. Assuming everyone is telling the truth it does provide away for the eliminators to know who to single out. By that I mean, if they wanted to deprive the village of items, they could just kill Joe after he got the map if he doesn't use it in one turn. Also, depending on whether or not a sneaky player is on the villagers side, this strategy completely destroys their role. It allow the elims to kill so that they can figure out what people want which things. Sneaky players also make the pool of people who could be eliminators bigger. One quick question, Is the way the eliminators usually submit their vote is having one person use their action to submit it after they have discussed it in a doc or PM? I am asking because in that case, they could have a different person submit it each time, and if the supply runs low, more and more people won't go for items further decreasing the benefits of declaring what you took. I would like to apologize if some of this makes no sense, right now I am sick and finding it difficult to focus. If I need to explain it any further, just ask.
  25. I must confess that when I jumped on the vote on you, it was simply due to the act that we have so very little information about everyone this early in the game, your words gave me a slight justification to vote for you, so I took it. Considering the other reasons that people are voting on, I think its justified on a D1.
