  1. Let's see, me, Gabriel, where's the girl? "Hey you!" Paul shouted down the hall, "Are you still coming with us?"
  2. Welcome to the 17th shard!! In terms of cosmere discussion I find three forum boards the best, Cosmere Q&A, Cosmere Theories, and Oathbringer spoiler board. Out of the three I find that Cosmere theories has the best discussion. The reason why I stuck the Oathbringer spoiler board on the list was because in the wake of oathbringer's release there have been many theories about the cosmere that involved oathbringer or passages from it. The authors of those theories put them in the oathbringer spoiler board for obvious reasaons. As for cookies? Visit the Dark Alley, there should be a link in my signature. If you visit the White Sand board, somewhere near the top is a thread about how to get the prose version.
  3. (Oh, I initially thought hall ways had two entrances, one to the room you were just in, and one into the new room. I thought you were talking about the two hallways leading off of the living room)
  4. Paul glances down both hallways, "Well, both doors look identical, so my vote is on the left,"
  5. Welcome! This is my second game, i'm just hoping it goes better than my first game, where nearly have the village was eliminated in a single round.
  6. Paul's head snaps back at the mention of his name, "Ok, so you're sticking with me, anyone else? No? Ok. Let's get going then," he turns and carefully begins to make his way down the hallway, "Oops, almost forgot, I had a satchel when I appeared in that closet, I left it in their though, I'm going to go grab it, it may have something useful inside," He carefully picks his way down the hallway back to the room. Once inside he heads to his wardrobe to check for it, but mysteriously couldn't find it. "I was sure I left it here," He mumbled to himself. "Huh," He scratches his head, "maybe I was imagining it," As he turns around to walk back to the entrance he notices a brown corner peeking out from underneath the white and gold couch that the young girl was standing beside when he opened up the wardrobe. Looking inside he found a loaf of bread and a water bottle full of water. Looks like whoever put us in here wasn't completely heartless, he thought to himself.
  7. here is a quote from the coppermind about the short story that we are talking about: "Allomancer Jak and the Pits of Eltania is a short story about an adventuring Allomancer as told by him and edited by his Terrisman steward, Handerwym. Handerwym's annotations imply that the narrator is unreliable (prone to exaggeration and ignorance)," He doesn't appear in mist born era's one or two in any of the main books. here is a link to the coppermind page about the story. https://coppermind.net/wiki/Allomancer_Jak_and_the_Pits_of_Eltania
  8. I'll sign up as Thorstein. An immigrant from Scandinavia who enlisted to get by.
  9. What about hope of Elantris? That contains spoilers for Elantris. I didn't know that Brandon thought that that Secret History was meant to be read after Alloy of Law. I don't recall any spoilers in Allomancer Jak or Mistborn: Secret History for Mistborn era two, though I may be wrong about Mistborn: Secret History
  10. would this be put in a pm to the gm, or posted on the thread?
  11. Welcome to the 17th shard! To Answer your question, I would read Elantris first, then Arcanum unbound (AU), then the second mistborn trilogy. The reason is that Arcanum unbound is a collection of short stories, some of which have spoilers for some of Brandon's published novels. To avoid having to skip that short story and return to it later, I would suggest reading Elantris first. Between the AU and the second mistborn trilogy, I would say reading AU first is better. The AU has a lot of information about the cosmere and realmatics. Both of which I find really cool. However, you will not be missing anything by reading the second mistborn trilogy before the AU. Again welcome to the shard, have a cookie and a upvote as a welcoming gift!
  12. I agree 100%, in my opinion its the most powerful because of it versatility. Take a cookie as a welcoming gift, and check out the Dark Alley sometime in the social groups tab at the very bottom!
  13. Welcome to the shard!! What do you think of hemalurgy?
  14. "I believe that I am at a disadvantage right now, I don't know any of your names, or what you can do, while you guys know mine and that I have a magical suit," Paul said as his suit changed yet again. to something resembling Shallan's ward's profile picture. (sorry, in my last post, I said my name was mac, I completely forgot about the actual name of my character, so I edited my post to say the correct name. @Shallan's Ward you may wan't to edit your post like I did to accommodate that.)
  15. "The name's Paul, and working together seems like the best option. If most hallways are like this, then the odds of us surviving alone are very slim. Also, its worth pointing out, that there are only two ways we can go right now, so which ever way you choose someone is going to end up heading in the same direction as you."
  16. Mac, heard a whoosh, and dropped to the ground, triggering 3 more pressure plates, one launching spikes through the painting on the wall and embedding themselves on the opposite side, the second causing a pile of dirt and pebbles to fall from the roof, landing on top of Mac's leg, and the third causing flames to erupt from the floor about a foot further down the hallway. "Aw, dang-it!" Mac exclaimed, continuing on to mutter something about how how he liked this suit and how dirt stains. "Can someone help dig me out? I can't really reach my leg in this position."
  17. (What happens if we defeat what ever is in the next room? Is there a reward, a weapon, or is it pafo (play and find out)? Also, how consistent is the layout, does everything change as soon as we close door on the new room we are in?) "That was underwhelming." Mac peers into the brightly furnished hallway, extending for about 100 yards (90 m) with stained glass windows on the right, and mirrors and artwork on the left. It was so ornate that it was garish. "If no one else is going to go, I guess I'll start heading out." He strides confidently into the hall way, removing the hat and changing his tie into a solid red color.
  18. "Of course, We are in Versailles, Right? I figured I would try to dress the part." Mac grinned, "Unfortunately, the french looked stupid in the 1600's, so I improved the cloths a bit." Mac looked around the room, taking in his surroundings, and glanced down the hallway, "That definitely looks like Versailles," He remarked. "Should we go down the hallway?" (So I assume that this is like the labyrinth in Percy Jackson? How it moves around and changes shape without us knowing? That is Hugh Jackman in the greatest showman)
  19. (I may have slightly gotten inspiration from his costume in the greatest showman) Suddenly they hear a creak behind themselves. Mac opens the door to a wardrobe, and steps out onto the floor looking impeccable, considering he just stepped out of a closet. (See image below.) "Hello, what are you doing here?" He asks, A little bit confused as to why he just stepped out of a wardrobe in what appears to be Versailles (Can our characters know about places and history regarding these rooms?)
  20. Character Form Name: Paul, Kristoferson Age: 21 Description: Above average height, Brown hair in a style similar to Hugh Jackman. Eyes are: Brown and more olive, has Central Heterochromia. (where the center of the iris near the pupil is a different color then near the whites.) Personality: A bit of a loner, has a somber personality when alone or not interacting with someone. When he is with someone he appears to be engaged and attentive. Flaw(s): Mind tends to wander. Tends to believe that he is better than most people, it shows by him not watching his tongue and not considering others plan when he has one. Stubborn and also quick to anger. Not good on offensive charges, not a coward, but tends to give ground in a fight. Powers (if any): Can change what he is wearing at will. This does not apply to weapons, whatever weapons that look like he is holding aren't real. Tends to prefer suits/formal clothing. Is a decent marksman, with a bow and crossbow and can tell which end of a sword is which, (couldn't duel someone competent with a sword, or defend against more then one enemy). Always quick with a response in an argument and decent reflexes. (Please tell me if this is too OP and I will nerf it)
  21. It should be about 400 boxings to buy all of the cookies. If you would like, because these are prepaid, we could distribute them for free from the spikesulate. Though if you wan't to distribute them, that is understandable. Did you find the disclaimer?
  22. See my signature, right above the picture if the spikes and cookies. if you click on that link, it will take you to a google doc with the disclaimer on it.
  23. Depends, our pricing is generally focused on three things. 1. How many cookies, if you buy in bulk, we sell cheaper. 2. Cost of transportation. Due to the fact that you are in an under ground fighting club, we could open up an alley right next door, or even into the main fighting room. This would cause transportation costs to be 0. 3. Whether or not you are returning your spikes. The spikes are expensive and we would rather like to keep the stolen investiture. If you don't want spikes in your cookies and/or you return the spikes, then the price of the cookies drops.
  24. Whats your favorite part about the cosmere?
