People you wouldn't want to meet in a dark alley
MacThorstenson replied to Voidus's topic in The Alleyverse
It would be difficult, because all of the bind points are in different places on the body. Last I heard, someone in alley 37 was working on this job but I haven't heard from them in years. EDIT: @The Gecko Welcome to the DA! You are now an official denizen of the Dark Alley! Word to the wise, lying about the safeness of our cookies can bring in legal trouble, that's why I prefer to use the DA disclaimer. Here is one link to it: There is also another link in my signature. -

You can do whatever you wan't. My understanding is that tapping iron doesn't increase physical size, only weight. So I am not sure if it would help. As to removing fat, why wouldn't we spike an illusion to make you appear thinner? I have been trying recently to figure out if it i possible to draw an aon with a spike that would give an illusion. So far the interfering investiture currents have been causing trouble, but I have found that the more Connected you are to elantris, the more successful it is. -

Lopen is correct, so long as you have offered someone a cookie, you are a full fledged member of the DA. I would just like to say that I am in way in charge of the DA, that belongs to @Voidus and others. I am following the rules that they set forth. -

"Of course, my two armed friend," As the man shrugs a satchel off of his shoulder he begins to walk backward toward toward his friend while keeping both spiked eyes trained on the Kelsier figure. -

Well, to understand this, one must understand the alleyverse. I am not a master of alleymatics, but from what I understand all of the dark alleys are in place called the alleys which is located in the alleyverse. Other places in the alley verse include the roundabout and the highway. Inside of the alleys you have places like the dark alleys, the light alleys, and the mediocrity lit alleys. You enter the alleys by walking into an alley in the human world, so in a way this perfect world has come to pass.\ With that in mind. Our goal is to discover the limits of Hemalurgy and push those limits as far as they can be pushed. So we will continue selling cookies as long as we can, because we still need test subjects to experiment on. We don't actually make any money off of most of the cookie sales*. They buy our cookies with their soul. Considering that rarely do our test subjects survive the first round of experiments, there is very little need to make our cookies addicting, except for consumption by fellow dark alley members. I hope that answers your question. On an unrelated note have we outfitted you with the basic benefits? (Gold compounding to heal your self when you remove a spike and copper feruchemy to store memories in.) -
All the credit goes to Maelstrom. They were the genius that figured this out.

Good, job on the cookies! The Baking can apply to either part. The more delicious the cookies/assorted baked goods are, the more people will eat them. Also, word to the wise, it's considered bad form to post multiple times in a row, if you have more information that you want to add, it's advised to edit your previous post or wait till someone else posts. -

After having looked over their oaths and the manner in which you said them, I wouldn't think so. At our heart, we are scientists, bakers, and businessmen. So long as your oaths don't impact all of those duties you should be fine. Also, you don't have to sell cookies past the first. Personally I find it beneficial to do all three, theorize, sell cookies, and bake, but you don't have to. @LopenTheTwoArmedHerdazian I Have found it useful to use this link to recruit more people. -

You don't find out if they accept it, but just offering the cookie is enough. Welcome to the DA! -

Welcome, all you need to do to join is sell someone one of our cookies on the introduction threads! Once you do that, you will be a full member of the dark alley. -
That would be great, if I had actually posted an introduction thread. It wasn't always like this, in the beginning I was confused and sought solace in the ranks of the assassins in technicolor, but after I was ignored I found my rightful place in the Dark Alley.

I agree with Joe, from what I've seen Kynedath as always done this. I have only played two games and watched a few others, but from what I have seen I have no reason to see that this is suspicious. Orlok Tsubodai

He pointed out that if we gave rats lerasium and they were able to burn it, we could breed them rapidly and use them to farm hemalurgic spikes en masse. -
The Art of Baking: All new Hemalurgy Free Bakery
MacThorstenson replied to Quickbronze's topic in The Alleyverse
Moving with inhumanly fast speed the stranger doges the bullet then stabs himself with 29 more spikes. Running forward at an inhuman speed he touches the man who claims to be kelsier, wiping him of his allomatic reserves. "Now, I again have the advantage, and you no longer have a gun." The stranger is standing where he originally stood, this time with his body bristling with spikes and holding a pistol. -

Seeing the gun, his eyes widen as he pulls a spike out of a capsule on his side. He shoves it into his sternum and then downs a vial of metals. "I rather think that I would enjoy meeting your friends. After all, they thought they could send someone to assassinate an ally of the Dark Alley," Grinning he says, "you should've shot me right away, now I have the advantage," -
Lies! Deception! Our bakery is not shady at all. There is no light to produce shadows.

The Art of Baking: All new Hemalurgy Free Bakery
MacThorstenson replied to Quickbronze's topic in The Alleyverse
The man feels a breeze from the dark alley next to the bakery. When he turns to look at it, he sees a man in a black trench coat and fedora casually step out. "I wouldn't do that if I were you," He states calmly with a grin on his face. In his hand there is a metal spike, ready to be thrown at the man with the gun. -
You can find a link to the thread in my signature, or you can go to the Social groups forum at the bottom of the main page, there you will find a thread name , People you wouldn't want to meet in a dark alley. Post there and we will give you further instructions on how to complete your initiation. To answer your question, you are completely right. The reason that that isn't done to much in the novels is that A: Finding a full born is really, really, really, hard. and B: most commonly stolen attributes are stolen through the heart, or other lethal parts of your body. Without being able to tap or compound gold, you die. Even if you survive the spiking, you are left like something worse then a drab. The literature is unclear about how this affects the spirit web and bind points. Outside of canon, we do these sort of things all the time.

"Probably should've mentioned this before, but I am unarmed, could someone lend me a weapon if they have a spare?I just realized that I may want to have something in case we get attacked." Paul whispered. As he looked around trying to see through the mist, he got the impression that they were inside of a large cave, (around the size of a football stadium) with a gravely/rocky ground. (should we ping King Cole? To see if he wants to join up?)
-
You should join the Dark Alley. Your interest in hemalurgy and its applications would be a great addition to our ranks.

Paul fell into step behind Scelance and Dallas, He tried to listen to what was in the room and thought he heard several clicking noises, like claws against stone. He unconsciously started changing his suit, making it slightly translucent and changed the color to better fit with the mist. "There is more then one thing in here," he whispers, "Does anyone have a light?" He peered through the shifting waves and ribbons of fog trying to see the edge of the room. If he looked behind himself he could still see the glow of the doorway through the fog. "Is there another light source in here? If so it may lead to an exit,"
