  1. A long awakened cloth falls down and grabs Dwig bringing him into the party. Mac stands up after reclaiming his breaths and makes an announcement. “Just to let everyone know, this guy is an official bookie for the event.” He points at one of his assistants.
  2. At this point, my soul is something similar to a quilt. Made up of different patches all put together.
  3. @Dwig Jigdens YOU WANT UP?” Mac shouts from the party island.
  4. I second that, sorry for derailing your intro thread. @Sahin the Just I actually did mean an atrium spike. They are still in R&D In The DA, but their potential is amazing. Sadly I can’t explain the science behind it on this because the amount of typos I would make, being on a phone, would make the passage unreadable. Also, by D&D I meant Devotion & Dominion. Sorry for not making that clear.
  5. “Thank you for the cone,” Mac takes a bite and his eyes shoot up in surprise. “How did you do that? With the fingers and all.”
  6. But... blood sealing isn’t confirmed to be able to revive the dead. If we are making up parts of magic systems, then I say that because I have access to an atrium spike that allows me to become a dragon from yolen, I use that power to travel back in time and stop the shattering of D&D so that bloodsealing doesn’t exist.
  7. “If you are able to produce all of the flavors, then may I have a suicide? All of the flavors moved together?”
  8. Says the person who decided that the only reason why they shouldn’t be dead after they ate cyanide poisoned cookies was: I didn’t want to die.
  9. If you want help building the magic system, I would be willing. Here a few ideas that I just had. The first, is that if the characters are going to have complete control over their forces, then they need to have huge, and I mean HUGE drawbacks to using this. In the spoiler, I outline what you could accomplish with complete control of each force. It is way to OP. An Idea that I had, was maybe there were many different powers or skills that you could use, and they are separated into 4 disciplines. For example, in EM there could be alchemy (changing elements). Manipulations (im thinking that you could manipulate different objects to change form,) you could also do something like lift does. That is just one idea though. I think that whatever happenens, there will need to be balancing and drawbacks to using the power.
  10. How many times do we have to say it? The DA is not trying to take your breath. That's @ElephantEarwax's thing.
  11. You can still come back. We have your yet to be used lab ready and everything.
  12. That appears sufficient to join the DA. Welcome to the Guild! Pick a lab and start making science!
  13. I'll try and answer the questions, though I am warning you, My answers may be slightly unconventional. 1. My top three favorite magic systems, Awakening, AonDor and The One Power, rely on knowledge to do more things. What you can do with those powers rely primarily on the amount of education you have on the subject. Secondarily, they rely on raw power, this allows interesting dynamics where people who are more powerful but less experienced, can beat those who are more experienced but less powerful. and vice versa. 2. I actually prefer systems where people can become all powerful/gods. So long as it remains a minority who become gods, and that it actually makes sense how they got there. The god king was a good example, and Rand al'Thor. In terms of limitations on the system, however, I have liked time constraints, and limited energy restraints. For example, in awakening, you had a limited number of breaths, and if you weren't prepared for a fight, you were going to lose. You had to issue verbal commands, and were limited by your reaction time and ability to verbalize under pressure. Elantris, you need to draw aons quickly in a battle to be effective. 3. I don't think that I have ever had my suspension of disbelieve broken. When I read, I assume that whatever happens makes sense in that world. That being said, these are things that have annoyed me about magic systems in the past. With any magic system that the plot relies heavily on, so all of BS's books, the system IMO, needs to make sense. Consistency and well explained rules are needed. If the system appears like it does in Tolkien's works, you don't need to explain it nearly as much, its much more off to the side and less involved in the plot of the story. This, I believe is one of brandons rules of magic. This was one thing that really bugged me in the Percy Jackson series. Why was he not practicing? Why the frick was he not training to be able to control water, or master his powers? It felt like he was ignoring a major advantage he had over others. If there was a consequence for practicing, it would make sense, Like the dark ones taint in WoT. Or running out of metals/stormlight and having a limited supply. but in Percy Jackson, he could have spent most of the day practicing. That isn't consistent and it doesn't make sense.
  14. Building off of what you wrote, the intent of the shard Honor could be interpreted many different ways. I believe Tanavast though it to be more akin to acting morally and keeping your oaths, but now that Tanavast is dead, his push on the intent is no longer here. The Stormfather said something about how honor was not able to regulate the oaths now that he was dead. I think that this is what he was talking about. The core of the Nahel bond is keeping your oaths. Honor was the only one who put morality into that. Now that Honor is dead, Morality isn't an issue in the Nahel bond so long as you are keeping the oaths. This is also why the oaths depend on interpretation now.
  15. Just wanted to post a cool thing that my character said in the RP.
  16. LIES, Your soul I can't vouch for, but we use a patented system that allows the spikes to easily go down your esophagus without pain or damage*. *DA Disclaimer applies.
  17. Ouch. That wounds me more then all the spikes that I shoved into my heart. We are a business company with a large R&D division. Or a science lab with a small marketing division, depending on how you look at it. Nothing sinister about it. Would a cult let one of the newest recruits leave? I don't think so.
  18. Weelll, I do think we brought them up to speed too quickly. Next time lets hold off on the souls of our enemies until they already have spikes.
  19. Wait, are you not the man we spiked with loyalty to the dark alley after he tried to resist us?
  20. "Oops, sorry, forgot about the heat wards." Looking guiltily at his companions singed eyebrows, he began to mutter and wave his arms, he then began to draw long strings of aons. After a few moments he looked up, and said "Sorry again, none of you should have been hurt. Here take a few emergency gold medallions." He passes out gold medallions filled with healing.
  21. Shut up. Your just mad you lost.
  22. Beautiful! You are now a member of the most OP guild in the 17th shard. If you would like the standees member benifets, just ask.
  23. @AonEne All you have to do is offer a cookie on an intro thread. Any cookie. No signing involved and they don’t need to accept it. LA is the current iteration of the light alley. They are opposed to us. (Dark alley vs Light alley). There have been quite a few organizations that were opposed to us during the heyday. They all died. You don’t need to write anything in your sig about being a member. Just offering the cookie is enough.
  24. “HA, try to hit me again, I dare you.” Not waiting for him to try, Mac summons a storm using the one power and hits his little island with lighting, he draws aons in the air to cause pillars of light and fire the size of football stadiums to shoot down to earth, striking his island. It remained standing, undamaged. “If you want to try, go ahead, but I think I proved my point. Did you honestly think I would rely on one type of shield? HAHAHA!!!” Mac let out a slightly insane and externally scornful laugh. “But your attempt to one up me did have some effect. I won’t be using that shield any more as you now know a way to break it.”
  25. “OF COURSE!! GIVE ME A MOMENT TO TURN OFF THE SHIELDS!!” Mac orders a man down the stairs to shut the shields off. “THE SHIELDS ARE OFF FOR A FEW MOMENTS,” As soon as the forgetful archivist is aboard, he turns them back on, “ANYONE IS WELCOME ON THE PARTY ISLAND, LIGHT OR DARK OR MEDIOCRITY LIT ALLEY MEMBERS. THERE WILL BE NO FIGHTING.” He hollers around the battlefield.
