Hey VillageIdiot! Long time no see! You can definitely join, and even though you asked for help with workshopping your character, I don't think that there is anything that needs to be done. Its investiture is within the point values, and the skills are as well. The third heightening is worth 70 points and the aviar 10. I would add a few points for the special ability of the aviar, but only like one or two. For skills I would say about 5 for the poison making and 20 for the hand to hand combat. You don't mention how good he was with the knives, so it could change. The weakness subtracts some points, but the character all around is a very good one. Very well made, we will be excited to RP with you!

Elantrians can activate Aons drawn by other elantrians by touch.

Mac sat in his office, flipping through the backlog of mail. Apparently being dead for 16 years but not telling anyone means that they don't stop sending mail. Especially when 16 years is a pretty normal amount of time to be missing for in the DA. After tossing a stack of outdated project funding requests into the incinerator, he walked back over to his desk where he looked at a nondescript white envelope. Ripping it open, he began reading, it was an automated alert from the World Spike Security System from back at the end of the seven day war. Lockdown procedures initiated. Max security mode in effect until Administrator authorization lowers the security level. Inventory of contained beings: Voidus x1 The guardian x1 Dropbear v5.2 x6* Miscellaneous Bacteria and other harmless life forms. * indicated containment in a sub container. "Huh, so that's where Voidus went, well hopefully he's back soon, all this stuff is pili- Wait a minute." Macs eyes widened. Voidus was the only admin, and he couldn't lower the security of the worldspike from inside the containment. It was a catch 22 that we realized existed a while ago, but kind of ignored because we wanted to science more. "Chull. This is a problem." First off, Mac should have sorted through this stuff ages ago, second, he needed to find a way to lower the barrier. He could figure it out, but doing so would let voidus out. And that would probably result in trouble for Mac. Walking over to his desk, he pulled out a tablet with a live recording of the world spike. Crap. People were fighting around it, and it looked like they were trying to set Voidus free. Chull chull chull chull. This can't be happening. Mac began to break out in a cold sweat. There were only two things that he feared. Voidus and drop bears. Voidus was about to be set free. What should he do?

If the DA wants accidents to happen, there are easier ways to make it happen. It wouldn't be teleportation, it would be using space warping alleys to quickly transport people from one space to another. The distance would be shortened, not eliminated. This could be much better than teleportation because it doesn't require either an Elantrian to activate (their time tends to be expensive), or the precision that teleportation in general requires.

"Hello Dwig. The idea would be that if all the businesses and manufacturers got together in a traders union, we would be able to A more effectively improve the lives of people in the Alleyverse, and B have more power than we do separately. What do you think?"
-
Mack walked around the front of the shop. Voidus was about to be released, so he should be able to refocus his time on the shop. With ideas of a traders union being formed, it would be a good idea for people to know that the best craftsmen in the cosmere were open for business still. Still, he needed to pitch the idea of a traders union to other people. He walked to the counter and pulled out a spanreed, sending a message to the owner of Metalurgy and investiture, @Dr. Dapper asking him if he would show up for a meeting.

I like the character, but I do have a few thoughts that I think I could improve it. The first is that the character may be slightly too strong for the next Era (Idk if you've been reading, but we are starting another Era soon, which will be a good spot for newcomers to join). Using an index that we put together to objectively determine the strength of a character, They have a few to many invested abilities. A forger is 60 points, A tin misting is 35 and the third heightening is 70. We roughly want the characters to have points within 100 for investiture. In terms of his skills, such as brawling, I think he's awesome. You mention that he is a great brawler, so I would add about 30 points for that. That corresponds to around 10 years of training. We generally want characters to be around 50 points in terms of skills. It possible that you would be able to keep all of his invested abilities if you added in a few weakness', we don't have a rubric for those, but the more it impacts your character, the more points it can subtract. Outside of his abilities I think that the backstory field would need to be filled in. Some ideas of what to put in there would be his early life, anything that would be important for making him the person he is today. Its a good way to explain his weakness. Another thing to put in would be explaining his church and how that affects what he does. Really what the weakness and backstory portions are for is to help you flesh out your character and make him easier to RP with. In addition to the backstory I would suggest adding a small part about his family. Peoples family and upbringing have a big impact on who they are and how they act, it can be useful for helping flesh out the character. In conclusion, you have the beginnings of a good character, but he needs a little more detail. Welcome to the RP and I'm excited to start RPing with you!

Course not, why would we kick him out? He just dropped a level on the ladder. He will no longer be allowed to see details on project [REDACTED]. I'm also on the same security level as he is, cuz I also made and run a guild aside from the DA.- 119 replies

I'm not too sure. Considering that the alleycity is a huge place, it would be limiting to have to RP in that thread no matter the location. It would also be confusing if everything that was happening in the Alleycity was RP'ed in that spot. Considering that most things in the Alleyverse happen in the alleycity, its probably better to create spefic threads for specific locations when they are needed.
-
I also agree with Sorana, based on the current understanding of the alleyverse, it doesn’t seem possible for this to happen. I think that other parts of the Void (the space between universes) could be used to achieve this, but they would also be outside of the alleyverse.

Does the religion worship voidus?
-
So now the question is, what weakness is worth 9000 points?
-
I can iron out his backstory more later, but @Voidus how would you rank his power?
-
As far as I know, there is no way to be able to separate a hemalurgic enhancement from the actual spirit web, because for all intents and purposes there is no difference in spirit web. If that did happen, kandra and koloss couldn't exist. Koloss are just humans with 4 strength spikes. A shard-blade is essentially distilled investiture. So if you removed its affects, it wouldn't be able to cut anything. I'm with voidus on this one. Now we have $0.04.
-
Actually wait, that wouldn't work. The benefits from breath heightening aren't kinetic. Also, already summoned shardblades and plate would function still. Also, I think the reason that returned are still alive is because of the fifth heightening benefits, it doesn't make sense for other people to not be able to benefit from breath heightening, but not returned. Also, do we know if Dakhor are actively using investiture all the time (thus being kinetic)? or would their passive strength be considered innate? Finally, hemalurgically increased strength as intelligence wouldn't be affected by the field then. I will need to think about this more.
